Christ in us . . . our Hope
Colossians 1:27 is a powerful verse: “God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Let’s start by clarifying that the apostle Paul is writing to believers in Jesus Christ—the “you” whom he addresses. He calls them “the Lord’s people” in the previous verse (Colossians 1:26). The “Gentiles” are non-Jewish people. A “mystery” in the New Testament is simply something that was hidden in times past but has now been revealed by God. The former mystery, now understood, is that Christ in us is the hope of our future glory.
In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit came upon certain people to empower them for service, but then He would leave again. New Testament believers have a different experience, as the Spirit indwells us permanently. The permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit given to New Testament believers was a “mystery” to the Old Testament saints. After Jesus ascended to heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to live within us, never to leave (John 14:16–17; 16:7). Jesus told His disciples, “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father . . . and I am in you” (John 14:20).
The Holy Spirit seals us for the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30). In other words, the Spirit’s presence in our hearts guarantees our ultimate salvation. Though we are in this world, we are not of it (John 17:16). God will continue to work in us until He is finished perfecting us (see Philippians 1:6). This forward-looking guarantee of perfection is what is meant by “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” The J. B. Phillips translation of Colossians 1:27 puts it this way: “The secret is simply this: Christ in you! Yes, Christ in you bringing with him the hope of all glorious things to come.”
The hope of glory is the fulfillment of God’s promise to restore us and all creation (see Romans 8:19–21 and 1 Peter 5:10). This hope is not a wishful thought, but the confident, expectant, joyful knowledge that we are being changed by God and will one day see Christ face to face, having been conformed to His image (Romans 8:29; 1 John 3:2).
The hope of glory includes our resurrection: “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you” (Romans 8:11). It includes a heavenly inheritance: “In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you” (1 Peter 1:3–4). The Spirit of Christ within us is the “deposit guaranteeing our inheritance” (Ephesians 1:14).
Christ’s presence in us is the hope of glory, and this truth is full of “glorious riches.” Our once dead, darkened spirits are made alive. Christ is in our hearts, and we know that there is life beyond this earthly existence—a life that will be glorious beyond all imagination.

ATF had fits AND lost all court cases I heard about. As they should. 2A is absolute.
Besides 2A being absolute, the ATF was trying to say that any mill and any block of metal was an already-completed illegal firearm.
I hang out with people who make engines out of blocks of metal. The skills and the tools are pretty similar.
And that’s before you consider the idiocy of something being an “illegal firearm”. When you reflect on John Moses Browning building the first ever Ma Deuce in his home shop, as well as the 1911…..how can a firearm be illegal if it’s being made for the first time?
The above is a little mill specifically optimized to do AR lowers.

With the coolant, you can run the tools against the material faster. With the tool changer, you can go from one tool to the next without putting your hands inside. With rotary work-holding, you can go from one angle to the next.
This appears to be making an AR-lower from scratch, rather than 80%, and is merely meant to demonstrate faster CNC work. And it’s just highlights, instead of the entire process.
As a side note, a CNC mill like the ones in these videos takes a material and carves away all the bits that aren’t desired in the final product. A 3D printer takes a block of air and squirts plastic into all the places that need it — it’s like building stuff out of tiny squirts of quick-hardening toothpaste.
They both run on what’s known as g-code. There are computerized tools to generate g-code from shape files — you could run the same shape file through tools and get g-code files to 3D print and CNC mill the same shape (they wouldn’t be the same, however, because one would be building the inside and the other would be carving the outside).
Just to be a little cranky, how many of those wonderful border crashers has even seen a machine such as this, let alone know how to run it?

Also…I know of two men in their 60s who were discovered dead recently. I don’t know their vax status. It’s nothing new for people to succumb to heart attacks, but it seems much more common now. This makes the third person I know of who has been found dead since the advent of the clot shot.
I need to start recording people who I am certain have died from the jab.
One friend died suddenly – the one I wrote about.
An extended family member – turbo cancer – came out of remission.
Favorite art critic with diabetes – sudden death.
Friend’s child with diabetes – sudden death.
Two neighbors – turbo cancer.
Local high school football player – heart attack – classic jab attack, highly resistant to a reboot – he lived.
I’ve given up counting. At least two died in their sleep. One was a pain killer addict, so, that could be it. Turbo cancers everywhere with friends and their families.
The next round is going to be just devastating.

These are puny marines. You could probably put them in the army and make them paratroopers and none would be the wiser. I bet it’s the Obama-Biden food they feed them in the mess hall. Of course if they claim the seat selection is “random” but it is guaranteed to assign you a middle seat, it’s not truly random. Could they be gone after for fraud?
The trick with southwest airlines is to be in an early boarding group, but I prefer not to even sit next to someone who is in the middle seat. I have a hack for that. I go directly to the back row, since those two are the last middle seats anyone will choose. If the flight has ONE open seat my chances are nearly 50 percent it will be next to me. If it has two, almost 100 percent.
I’ll tell you what, the last few times I flew SWA, there were very tall guys who actually paid extra to board early, and they would take the exit rows in the middle of the plane for the extra leg room. They were willing to do the job, so why not?
The last time I was in the middle that I remember was on flight to LaGuardia with the Symphony. At least I was between people I knew.
My hack is to never fly again.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

SALLY Q UPDATE!
Sally is not on hospice yet – we haven’t decided which org to use and where will be best when she reaches the hospice stage – in her apartment at the Village or in town at my house close to all the doctors and hospital. Big Bend Hospital in town has a floor in the hospital and seems the best organized, with most impressive people.
Sally has not had one pain med or complained of pain since she got home Monday night! She’s back to sleeping in her wheelchair – which she likes best. I made a soft back cushion out of a spare wheelchair seat cushion cover – lining it with sheets of soft foam so she is comfortable.
She’s more sleepy – likely due to the RSV – but fatigue is also part of the Friedreich’s Ataxia syndrome. She’s still coughing and sneezing, but the wheezing and croupy cough she had in the hospital has gone away. She didn’t have much appetite at first, only wanted soup, but is now back to eating real meals.
I’ve been sewing again – making padded cushions for the hard SureHands ceiling lift body frame arms:
Also working on a design for a safety belt to use with the lift – just in case she’s on strong pain meds or is feeling weak and can’t keep her arms down to stay in the lift. We have slings for the lift – but to attach them – you have to take off the lift frame and add a new top bar on the lift and the lift technician has to do that.
It’s been a continual challenge to keep her safe and comfortable and adjust to every new stage of the disease.
I’m fairly certain God is pleased with your care for one of His hurting children.

It’s funny but when I was in Italy once, trains were listed as “ritardo” so I wondered if they were short trains, analogous to short school buses.

Loving Lord, as the day is coming to an end, I want to thank You for being with me in all that has taken place today. I also want to lay the whole day before You, asking that you would show me if there is anything that I have done to hurt or harm another person unknowingly, or if I have done anything that is displeasing in Your sight, or quenched the work of the Spirit in me, so that I may turn away from such things in the days that lie ahead.
