This is Jeranism, one of the Flerfs who went to Antarctica. He reports that the sun has not set, and furthermore that it sweeps right to left. He also noted that the sunspots are upside down in relation to what people back home (he’s Californian) are reporting.
(This is in part why I and many others are taking photographs of the Sun. I’m sending the full size files to The Final Experiment, Dave McKeegan, and McToon; posting them here is just a bonus. The other part is to show that the Sun does not change apparent size regardless of the time of day.)
He’s openly wondering how on Earth he’s going to reconcile this. He admits the AE map (the one they always show that looks like the UN logo) is toast. But he ranted about how much he hates the globe and the people who promote it.
He hasn’t quite gotten around to accepting that he is standing upside down with respect to his usual frame of reference–which would mean either he’s on a globe or he’s somehow walking around upside down on the underside of flat Earth. But by the physics they believe in, he’d simply fall off, head first, if that was where he was.

That sunspot thing is beautiful. One of the most elegant sphere proofs of all. So simple.
Another thing it proves is the great distance to the Sun.
If everyone sees the exact same thing without regard to where they are on Earth (other than rotation), you are not looking at either a close disk, nor a close sphere. It’s very distant in relation to the size of the Earth.
This is true whether the Earth is flat or spherical or donut shaped.
What shows the Earth is not flat is the different azimuth and elevation angles in different places on Earth at the same time. There are two explanations for that: the Sun is nearby and you’re dealing with parallax, or your horizon plane isn’t parallel to everyone else’s. But (see above), we’ve eliminated the first one already; and we’re stuck with a non-planar Earth. You then have to do the trigonometrical grunt work to establish what that shape would have to be in order to be consistent with the reported az-el angles and eventually find that the non-flat surface is a sphere.

Honestly when its tensors (and they’re all over the place there–those things with double subscripts), I barely have a glimmering. I know they are sort of like something else I am perfectly well accustomed to (matrices) but there are additional nuances.
The verbal summaries are nice, and I had not seen that last quote, but it does basically describe the fundamental equality of G=8piT, which relates the curvature of space and time (movement or the potential thereof) directly to the presence/existence of matter and/or energy.
Essentially, that matter and energy are inextricably linked to time, space and movement.
I find it very pleasing that these things are cleanly equated, and that it’s basically F/a = m, only more deeply descriptive of both sides (and thus a whole lot messier after that!)

Happy Monday yourself — how was your weekend?
I spent mine hiding from The Fiancee’s candy project. The highlight of my day today was cleaning rain gutters on the house. At times, I thought I was doing a Cirque du Soleil “unstable ladders” act.
Mine was a mixed bag. Hubby, 2 oldest son’s, & oldest son’s BIL were Supposed to have a hunting weekend, for muzzleloader season, for the weekend up at my dad’s hunting “cabin” in the Northwoods of MI. Well weather complications had them scratch the trip but Hubby hosted those guys at our place Saturday afternoon for the Steak Dinner he’d planned to provide Up North. The BIL went home but oldest son’s wife & 2 daughters then came over so we all hung out in the new basement “family room” Hubby put together a couple months back & watched A Christmas Story. Our oldest GD, 2 1/2 now, wanted to Immediately watch it again, having been intrigued by those boys LOL. They went home cause Mom & Dad had a party to go to (since son was now home instead of Up North he got roped into wifey’s plans LOL).
Anyway our middle son stayed over & we watched Another Christmas movie together in the less crowded “family room”. It was all a good time but we were pretty tired. Hubby was glad they’d cancelled their trip as he’d heard that the rain the blew in down here caused some bad icing conditions Up North. My dad had heard that there was anywhere from 1/2 to 2 feet of snow in Northern MI depending where you were.
My parents called late Sunday to tell me that Dad’s longtime, like 60 year, hunting buddy died yesterday. This friend had Really wanted my dad to take him Up North for one last hunting season just last month but it just wasn’t possible. My dad travelled to/from hunting camp w/ our middle son & stayed at the Hunting Shack w/ his longtime hunting buddy’s employee, who incidentally was the one to call my parents about this expected, though unfortunate, especially during the holidays, death.
This hunting buddy was given just months to live 2 years ago & rallied from his then supposed death bed to attend our son Josiah’s wedding. He had at least one autistic grandchild & the fact that our special needs son was able to get married give him great hope for his own challenged descendant. He was in the process of selling his business & they have properties in several states & even overseas as he was quite successful in his business ventures. His widow is quite infirm w/ Guianne Barre so the family is facing quite a lot of upheaval & challenges now that the dad is gone…
So anyway, a mixed bag weekend, joy, fellowship, great food, sorrow…kinda like life…
My uncle (the Marine) was given six months to live and managed to keep going for three years. I’m sure the disappointment of one less hunting trip was minor compared to two extra years of enjoying life. I hope the widow and family have good support through the coming period — I know of too many cases where predators have descended upon survivors in their time of weakness.
Their oldest daughter has been living with her parents & helping to take care of them for a while now so hopefully she’ll be able to protect her mom, who is still a very savvy woman, though physically depleted by years of that illness. My parents were going to visit the hunting buddy after Dad’s last hunting trip & hopefully share some photos & videos so that it would be a bit like his friend was there but then they came down with that junk running through the family for a few weeks now so postponed it until health returned, so now those adventures will just remain amongst those of us who are still this side of the veil 🙂
I’m glad your uncle was able to beat his diagnosis for so long. I was sharing FenBen & other protocols with the wife/widow & eldest daughter in hopes of them finding something that might help him live longer & better but I kind of doubt they dug into any of it. The wife/widow was an ER RN for many years so may have been too steeped in traditional approaches to be comfortable outside the chemo & radiation box he was fighting in, sigh.
His stamina was much diminished so he was no longer able to drive but he still got out on the water in his boat as long as someone was with him. He could drive the boat, at times, & even fish, but was too weak to reel any catches in without assistance. It sounds like he squeezed a lot out of life even up to the very end. He even was working at his business until a few months ago. He’ll be missed & it will be an adjustment for Dad…
I’m very glad that their daughter is in the picture. It is horrible to think that someone would take advantage in such a way, but there are those who specialize in doing so repeatedly.
It does sound like he made the most of every day here on this planet. While he didn’t get that one last trip, he had sixty years of fond memories to cherish.
As for your dad, maybe he could go and do that review with photos and videos in his friend’s study, to send extra memories past the veil behind his friend. Or maybe I’m just sentimental. At least your dad didn’t rush over there and give him the creeping crud to push him off faster.
I’m guessing that Dad will at least talk about that hunting trip w/ the employee, the widow, & the kids at the viewing. They were friends before the hunting Shack was part of the equation but that was the long-term glue now for many decades. The viewing is later this week so that hopefully leaves Christmas week “intact” in their future memories.
When my daughter was expecting their baby her due date was right around the time of my SIL’s mother’s death date. He kept praying that his baby wouldn’t be born on the anniversary of his mom’s death & God mercifully allowed the birth to be a day later. His mom’s death date coincides w/ my parents’ anniversary. I think it helps to have a bit of separation between holidays & painful days, but we don’t have choice in those matters, like so many things these too are in God’s hands.

In addition to interrupting his guests unnecessarily, he provides far too much context to every phrase/clause. It is literally impossible for any English teacher to diagram any of the sentences from one of his rants. You’d get bonus internet points if you could remember the original point of any of those sentences.
I have to plead guilty to that one myself. Though I sometimes do restrain myself.

Quoting things from The Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy is a bit of a problem.
IIRC, it was originally done as a radio program, then it was a book, then it was a BBC TV series, then it was another radio program, then it was a movie. Except for the characters and a vague outline, none of the versions exactly match. It doesn’t help that all versions consist of the main story with random interruptions.
So if you think of a specific character saying a specific thing at a specific time, it may be that character at another time in another version…..or someone else saying that thing at that time in yet another version, or it might not be said at all in a third alternative version.

Further, most modern firearms are based on the work of one John Moses Browning — who invented and built them in his private shop at his home in Utah. During the Revolutionary War, many regions were well-known for the skill of their local gunsmiths in local styles.
Restrictions on ownership, transfer, creation, modification, and capabilities of weapons are antithetical to the founding of our nation — because those who earned their Liberty by force of arms within living memory wanted no part of shoving that genie back into a bottle.

the dogs were just like spoiled children…sigh. they didn’t understand the difference between their house and ours so there was a learning curve. But they are snugglers–and they’re boxers–so not exactly lap dogs, but they act like it. hubby and i were sitting on the love seat and the younger one inserted herself between us –half sitting on me, half on hubby and fell asleep.
then the older one got jealous and tried to ALSO get on the loveseat with us and that just wasn’t happening…lol
most of the time they were well behaved.

Wow. I try to keep dogs on the floor but ours sneaks onto “my” seat on the couch, where I usually use the laptop, when I’m sleeping. I can tell she’s done it by how she cowers & acts guilty when I come around. When our youngest son is here he often pulls the mattress off his bed & puts it on the floor & the dog sleeps there with him during the night & naps there during the day if he leaves his door open. Our middle son is our dog’s favorite person on the planet so if he’s over she goes crazy. When he lived here he used to fall asleep on her dog bed with her sometimes curled up facing her butt–I mean yikes! LOL

Update on Wifey’s corneal ulcer
The lab culture came back with only a small level of bacterial infection – the best possible news. She has also responded well to the bacterial related antibiotic drops, especially over the past 24 hours. Her vision is improving significantly from being nearly blind in that eye. She began the warm eye compresses, increasing water consumption and eating more meat as Wolf suggested. Remember those things, folks. They make a difference along with the antibiotics and prayer.
The doctor was very pleased with progress as are we! Major change from Saturday’s exam. Praise the Lord! Many thanks to all for the prayers. They made a big difference.
Now for some unexpected “interesting” stuff. First, as I stated initially, there are medical professionals who care and we found a bunch of them in this event. Caring, responsive, intelligent, patient centered. Her specialist came in on his day off on Saturday to check on her. Her optometrist who saw her on very short notice offered to do the same. All of the people involved cleared the decks to respond to what they perceived to be an urgent need. We will be forever grateful.
The specialist she used is the grandson of the founder. The practice has been around for over 70 years. His father is a senior partner now. I learned today that not only did this specialist think outside the box with compounding of the antibiotic drops, he also regularly uses Ivermectin and did not do the jabs. None of his staff that worked with us did them and one indicated she uses Ivermectin as needed. I told them of my experiences with it and that it had been favorable for my MD eye issues. He noted my comments that it had stopped progressionof the MD dead in its tracks. He said he could understand why that may have happened as the class of drugs Ivermectin was in is used for parasites, which might apply to the origins of my condition. He said it would not help wifey as hers was not parasite related, but that it was a very safe drug to take.
I have used a different specialist (retina) in this practice for a dozen years. I noted that he and staff did not request that patients wear a mask back in the middle of COVID. I think they complied with the minimum of the law only and ignored the mandates. It is good to know that at least with this group and in this area, people are willing to stand up to medical tyranny and do what is good for their patients.

Okay, I need to pick a few brains.
After talking over symptoms with a friend who is in the same boat as many of us are with the COVID shots – she didn’t take them, but her husband did and she’s now suffering with the side effects despite all sorts of alternative treatment – I think whatever this is that I have is related to a choir member getting a booster last month and exposing me. The fatigue symptoms pretty much match what she had. Just unloading and loading the dishwasher is a challenge. Forget actual housework which desperately needs to be done. (When the kids get here on Saturday, I’m using them to deck the halls.) This crap is for real.
Other than making a run for Tennessee, which really isn’t that bad of a drive from here, for Ivermectin, any ideas? My friend ordered me a nebulizer and is willing to help me use it to break up biofilm, etc., but is there anything in anyone’s arsenal of natural remedies that may help? I had a talk with our Lord and Savior at Eucharistic Adoration today, and I’m hoping my Novena for wellness is doing some good, but, really, I have a lot to do and no energy to do it. Just about every old injury has flared up – especially in my torso which are pretty much all from singing – and some other things.
I just want and need this to go away.

The fatigue is bad enough, I’m considering carside delivery for groceries.
My recommendation.
Ivermectin to knock it out. Nattokinase and Serrapeptase to clean up the blood. A good multi-vitamin while making sure you also get extra Vitamin D, especially during these cold weather months. You need 4-5000 IU of D a day. Plenty of water. Then add patience, lots of patience.
Other folks have plenty of other things they add to this, but most who have dealt with it include all or most of the above.
I’m now regretting not spending as much time in the sun over the summer as I could have.
Don’t kick yourself – the D can’t last that long. If you want D, and near-IR, get outside NOW – even if it’s cloudy.
Try 10,000 i.u. a day of vitamin D for a week or two. I take that much every day in winter. In the frozen states, we’re not getting any D at all for months.

When it comes to supplements and plant based remedies, I am allergic to chamomile, and most of the rose family so I have to be careful there. Also, Earl Gray tea, so whatever those oranges are, yeah, no. This is why I hesitate on a lot of the suggestions.

Elderberry & Zinc seem to help. Black licorice is something I want when feeling poorly, also spiced chai tea. I used to love Luden’s black licorice throat drops but I don’t know if they make those anymore. I get a box of Good & Plenty at the dollar store & chew a few. Lots of fluids and lots of rest to kick most things. Vitamins C & D also very helpful.

Real black licorice is really good for lung ailments. It’s a bit hard on the liver, so you probably don’t want to use it all the time.

Try some star anise tea for starters. It helps with strengthening your vascular system back up after exposure to a vaxxed.

I’m not having any lung issues. Far from it. What I cough up is coming out of my head, and landing in various places. It comes up when I lie down.
The issue is the fatigue. Not even weakness. Just fatigue. Sitting down I’m fine. Walk up the stairs…it’s anyone’s guess.

No. But I was exposed to two people who had their boosters over a month ago. The coughing fits started on the 17th last month. True weakness and needing to sit down for tasks the three days before Thanksgiving. I think I’m just about at the end.

Are you sure you don’t have a sinus infection? That would account for the mucus, and definitely for the fatigue.
I had to have a scan of my sinuses once to find the infection it was so deep in my head. If that’s what it is, and it is a resistant one, you will need strong antibiotics, sadly.

Lord, you know how irrational I can become when I’m anxious. I can’t reign in my thoughts. Instead of expecting the best, I worry and wonder. I fret. I lay at your feet the things I’m struggling with and I implore you Lord to free my mind of concerns. Remind me please to take deep breaths and trust that you can make a way even when the path is not visible to me. Father, please lead me to refreshing Scriptures when I feel anxiety approaching. Prayer for Serenity 3: When Fear Overcomes Faith
Faith is the opposite of fear. The antidote to fear is to renew and reaffirm your trust in God when things are going well, when things look bleak, and every time in between. Don’t doubt him. Realize and internalize that God’s got this and he’s way ahead of us. Elisabeth Elliot once said, “Fear arises when we imagine that everything depends on us.”
Scriptures remind us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). In times of trial, we may find ourselves by God’s grace able to overcome our fears quickly, or it could be an extended journey. The triumph will be worth the struggle as it draws us closer to God when we go straight to prayer and reliance on him.
Dear Father, I’ll admit that I’m fearful right now. My world seems unsteady and unpredictable and I’m afraid. I want to trust you in all circumstances. In Everyday Brave, I admit that I’m an overthinker and a perfectionist.
Overthinkers imagine all the things that could go wrong or could happen. We wake up in the middle of the night ‘what-iffing’ and often create our own stress. We anticipate the worst in the future, robbing ourselves of the joys of the present. Overthinkers create problems in our minds that don’t exist and probably won’t ever occur. Perfectionists second-guess ourselves, never thinking we’re good enough or smart enough. Many don’t even try for fear of failure.
Lord, imagining future problems and never being satisfied with my, or others, performance doesn’t make me happy. I’m awful. I try to cope in my own strength and expectations instead of depending on you. Please teach me how to focus on actual circumstances and let go of those I fabricate. I waste so much of my life in a perpetual state of unrest.
You are my strong fortress, my anchor, my source of joy, serenity, and peaceful thoughts. Keep me grounded on the firm foundation of your Word and your ways. Guide me on paths of righteousness. You are the truth, the way, and the life. Amen
Prayer for Serenity 5: When You Want to Give Up or Give In
Stress is debilitating. Even with our best intentions, the weight of whatever is bothering us can defeat our motivation to rectify the situation. We feel helpless and hopeless. It seems easier living with the source of our stress than praying to God for how we should respond. Often, he will direct us to take no action. It’s not our battle this time.
Other times, he wants us to be resilient, resourceful, and rectify the situation remembering: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13).
Dear Lord, please refresh me with your living water. Let the Holy Spirit flow over me. Remind me that this world is not my home and to keep my eyes looking heavenly. I can so easily lose sight of you in the midst of my problems and the world’s craziness.
Others are watching how I react to stress and difficulties. They need to see that my dependence is on you. My source of hope is you working in ways I might not see.
I want to be an encouragement when asked how I can still have a smile on my face and joy in my voice as I carry on in the midst of stressful times. They keep talking Chem weapons. Haven’t seen the proof of all these stock piles. Often we used to blame the Assad Chem attacks on misadventures by CIA/Mossad with credible proof. All that past stuff is being steamrolled with no look back. Assumes propaganda until proof shown.
Collateral damage seems very likely, but there appears to be zero regard for it.
Israel is on the war path.
This has extended well past the simple eye for an eye. This has become predatory and outside the bounds of preemptory since there is no govt in Syria.
Does what is left of Syria have the right to self exist and defend itself from predators. That ability is being stripped away but to what end?
This is not the only attack in Syria. Numbers go as high as over 400 strikes by Israel against Syria in the last several days and continuing.
This is Tartus with the naval base next to it. Home to almost a half million. It is right next to the naval base. You can also assume the naval base is in part a civilian port and not just simply a naval base.
Still hard to say what damage the strikes have caused to civilian infrastructure. Haven’t seen a bomb assessment, but you can stand at the side of the naval base and throw a rock into the city, so the two are rather close. Meanwhile not sure what has been struck. All the stories keep saying Tartus was struck. Not sure. But if it has been struck I’d suspect some damage to the city.
I think Israel is wise not to take a “wait and see” approach on weapons of mass destruction that might fall into the hands of God knows who.
But that’s just me.
I get all that, but they are going well beyond the eye for an eye. And they are going beyond preemptive as there is no one to preempt. Right now the same thing you just said is likely being talked by their neighbors.

What I’m saying is, that could be worse than “someone” to preempt. If an even crazier strongman comes into power, it could be worse if they had not done it. It’s the uncertainty that’s the problem.
Okay, but they are creating a power vacuum right now. Projected filler of much of that empty space is Turkey who currently wants to expand in all directions.
Turkey likely just wants a friendly power next door. Israel just wants a non-hostile power next door.
Lebanon would like a non-abusive power next door.
The rebels have enough military to take control. They don’t need much more, IMO, to keep control of the country, and defend it from foreign forces.
The rebel leaders have said “On to Jerusalem”. For me, that’s enough to be quite fine with Israel making sure they can’t have enough weaponry to make that a reality.
The Osatan/Obriben CIA did this. They would not mind WWIII in the middle east. Israel is dealing with that new problem that Trump’s enemies created. I am personally glad that Israel is fixing what Trump can’t fix yet.
