Why bother with this? Because some flerfer dipsticks are trying to claim they didn’t fly to Antarctica. As if there’s anywhere on Earth with such a gigantic amount of ice that is NOT now experiencing short days if not no daytime at all (i.e., Greenland).
There are also claims of green screen. Turns out Will Duffy forgot to turn off his chromakey setting on his camera…so green things in his first video showed his generic background. (If it was a true greenscreen glitch, those things would have shown part of the putatively fake antarctic background, not Duffy’s The Final Experiment backdrop. Even Flat Earth Dave pointed this out to the gibbering mobs screaming “green screen,” so he’s not 100 percent an lying sack of shit, just 99 percent.) In any case drones were flown, people did simultaneous live streams with each other in the background, etc., etc., to debunk this but still some Flerfs have to pull this out…because they know they’ve got nothing. NOTHING.
Critical Think (glober) took a very precise scale (reading to the hundredth of a gram) and some checkweights with him to Antarctica. He has been weighing the checkweights in multiple different locations to show that the force of gravity is not the same everywhere on Earth. (Normally, you’re supposed to put the weights on the scale and hit a button to tell the scale, “what you are weighing right now is a kilogram, adjust accordingly. He just doesn’t hit that button, because he wants the scale to highlight different weights. Unfortunately the temporary building at the away-from-camp site had very bouncy floors so he didn’t get a valid read…unless it was the following day.
What’s the point of that exercise? Because the Earth isn’t quite a perfect sphere, the force due to gravity differs at different points on the surface (it will be lower on mountaintops too, than on the surrounding terrain). Because the Earth is oblate, you’re considerably closer to the center near the poles than on the equator, too. The centrifugal force from the rotation also comes into play at the equator, slightly reducing the net force there.
The mere fact that he measures different weights in different places, using a one kilogram mass, by itself (and without even determining if the differences make sense in the globe model) decisively refutes one variant of flat earth, the one that says what we feel as “gravity” is actually due to disk earth accelerating upward at one 1g. (That has the virtue of nodding to Einstein’s principle of equivalence.) If that is what was going on, we’d measure the same force everywhere on Earth; mountaintops would not experience lower gravitational force. If you want to claim that the acceleration varies and that’s what’s being measured, then have two people perform the experiment, both weigh at the bottom of a mountain, then one goes to the top of the mountain. If the one who remained behind still measures the same force, while the one on the mountain measures less force, then the putative acceleration can’t be varying in just such a way as to throw your measurements off.
It helps when you identify people like this because I haven’t kept up with them. (Of course, Flat Earth Dave is self-explanatory
).

Most people don’t like having their beliefs challenged, and they like it even less when their beliefs are proven false.
But why?
Why do they care?
Why aren’t people just glad to find out the truth?
What is the perceived threat, which causes people to resist truth or reality with such tenacity?
It’s the same thing with politics and propaganda.
It’s the same thing with Leftists and their mirrors (neocon globalists).
It’s the same thing that manifests in religious disputes.
It’s the same thing that happens in talking to people about covid (and covid ‘vaccines’).
It’s even the same thing that often happens when talking to people about Bitcoin.
There must be countless examples, all of the many things people are divided over, or about which people take sides.
There should be a word for the specific type of mental block that prevents people from seeing what is right in front of their eyes. It would help people to get around the mental block, simply by acknowledging it.
Giving it a name would make it easier, because it’s hard to process something that doesn’t have a name, or a word to describe it.
Like deja vu. Imagine if you had a deja vu experience, but there was no word for it. If you tried to explain to someone what you were experiencing, and there was no word for it (and they had never experienced it themselves), they might think you were crazy or delusional. They would probably dispute it, they might try to convince you that it wasn’t happening, because if they weren’t experiencing it too, then you must not be either.
But people like to identify things.
Once there was a word for it, you didn’t have to convince people that you were having the experience, because as soon as someone described the experience they were having, everyone who knows the word for it wants to be the first one to say what it is.
Having a word for it eliminates the mental step most people would otherwise take, i.e., the judgment about whether the person describing their deja vu experience is crazy or not. When there is a word for it, we can skip right past the dispute or judgment step and say “what you are experiencing is called deja vu.”
It is a means to reconcile reality, a way to bridge the gap between the person who is experiencing deja vu, and those who aren’t.
Having a word for it short circuits any potential dispute over whether the ‘thing’ in question exists or is occurring, by moving past the dispute stage and into the identification stage.
We need a word to do that same thing, to serve that same function, when it comes to psychological or intellectual blind spots, specifically blind spots that are caused by being strongly invested in a belief that is contradicted by logic, evidence, facts and reason — the things which form our shared perception of reality.
There might even be a word for it already, and I just can’t think of it. Or it might be a word in some other language or culture, and we just don’t have a corresponding word for it in English.

My hillbilly self calls it being a dumbass. I realize there may be a more tactful, appropriate name that would not immediately offend the dumbasses to better illustrate the issue.
To your primary point, a practical example happened this past weekend and it nearly negatively affected 11 year old Grandson #1.
His other grandfather took him to a Lady Vols basketball game, which was a very nice thing to do as he loves basketball and the Vols. Dumbass grandfather has taken all of the jabs and still wants all of his family members to do likewise. The rest of his family members either did not take them or stopped taking them long ago. Dumbass grandfather has a family history of serious cardiac issues of which he is aware, including experiencing myocarditis prior to COVID/jabs.His mother passed away from similar medical issues less than 10 years ago.
Dumbass grandfather never considers such things despite having experienced myocarditis events over the past year, which only his wife knew about. They did not bother to mention them to Daughter or son in law, or take an additional person who could drive and handle a medical emergency with them to the game.
So you know what happened. After the game as they exited he began having an event as they got back to the vehicle. Dumbass grandfather does not call 911, he decides to see if he can ride it out and admits he passed out briefly in the vehicle with a terrified grandson not knowing what was happening or what to do. God intervened and protected so that he recovered enough to not endanger the general populace, himself and grandson on the way home.
Since dumbass grandfather does things like this routinely I have advised Daughter and family to not risk the lives of their family in situations such as these or else they will have entered the dumbass category with him.
He needs to have his driver’s licence revoked!

Honestly don’t expect the guy to be around much longer. He is 4 or 5 years younger than me and looks 20 years older because of the jabs.

This makes me think we have somehow lost the ability, culturally, to deal with a friend or family member who is contrary simply for the sake of being contrary, even to his own detriment or to the detriment of others.
Since the nature and character of man has not changed since Adam, this problem must be as old as time.
We’ve just forgotten how to deal with it, or it has been conditioned out of us by what someone thought was more ‘progressive’ thinking.
In the same way that ‘someone’ thought it was a good idea to stop spanking children (they knew better than God and His Word), and the great success that has been.
I bet the Amish, for example, know exactly how to deal with such a person in their community. They probably use it all the time to maintain order.
I suspect it has to do with shaming, or ostracizing, or both, until or unless the person with the behavioral problem decides it is better for him or herself to cease the offending behavior, than to continue in it.

I have a friend, who when her blood sugar dips low, grabs for a can of Coke!
There is no way I can convince her that eating sugars (& starches) is what is causing her problems in the first place.
Giver her a meal of meat and green veggies and she wants to add sides of potatoes, pasta, or bread. To her it is NOT a meal unless you include a starchy side dish. 
WORSE she has taken the health care courses to be certified for taking care of at home invalids. Thus she is TRAINED while I am not.
Most of her health problems can be corrected by dietary changes and adding the Covid-detox protocol, but there is no way to convince her thanks to the brainwashing from Big Pharma.
Yes, sugar. And, no, people brought up on “balanced” diets just will not see that the starches – other than good potatoes and few other veggies – are the big culprits in metabolic disease.
I am so thankful a friend informed me of what NOT to eat back when I was 19. Otherwise I would be a diabetic by now.

I can tell you this; my homegrown potatoes have very little in common with the ones you can buy in the store. The taste is better, so is the texture.
I think store potatoes may just be old. But they are not the same.

I grow a few kinds. They are all good. And same variety is better homegrown than store bought, regardless of type in my experience.
There are, in general, two types of potatoes — waxy and starch. Russets are a good example of a starch potato. Many fingerling potatoes are wax potatoes.
The kind you want to include in soups and stews are the wax potatoes, because the other ones just thicken the soup leaving little trace behind. Wax potatoes will remain identifiable chunks even after cooked for hours.

I personally find “good starches in moderation” necessary for my optimal state. Particularly at breakfast. It’s snacking on starchy foods that is a problem for me.
I just let my body tell me what starch I can handle. It is pretty good at ‘punishing me’ if I blow it.
What is really weird is I can get away with an occasional 3 musketeers as a candy bar.
It is cane sugar, milk, chocolate & oil. I think the fat counters the sugar.
Even if you can just get her off the Coke and onto crusty good bread or glucose tabs (which are actually fairly low-calorie), she will stabilize faster.
High-fructose corn syrup is just trouble!

There is always a certain percentage of any population who respond positively to people in positions of authority.
The people in the position of Health Secretary / HHS for the past 50+ years have all been singing from the same Big Ag / Big Pharma hymn book, so the masses have had only a singular viewpoint promulgated from ‘on high’ for their entire lives.
RFK Jr. will bring a radically different perspective to the position.
So it will be interesting to see how the masses react to such a departure from the Cult of Big Ag-Pharm and their high priests in the HHS, FDA, etc.

Baker’s Law #10: I have observed that there is a difference between a closed mind and a settled mind, but sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference.
I am presently reading, The History of Western Philosophy, and have reached the 18th century. Hume, Reid, Berkeley, Locke, and others are debating how we know things and what we trust. They talk about Realism, Representationalism, and other theories about the true state of reality. Sprinkled across this debris field are discussions on how our consciousness (our minds) sorts out what is true. There is a reason the word, esoteric, was invented. That reason is to describe the musings of philosophers. I would almost classify it as an intellectual sport.
With that introduction let me attempt to distinguish a settled mind from a closed mind. To do so I must introduce the sloth. If you have ever seen a video of a sloth two words come to mind. First is the word “slow”, but the second is “deliberate”.
When you look at a settled mind it may at first appear dead, intellectually incurious. There is nothing to distinguish it from a closed mind until there is a knock at the door of your mind where new data is awaiting entrance. The settled mind, the sloth, hears the knock and eventually makes it to the door and opens it. It may take some while for that to be apparent. The new data will be analyzed, deliberately, and either discarded or added to inventory. If it is added to inventory it will used, in conjunction with other data to evaluate held beliefs and reformat that belief system if the evidence is deemed compelling.
The closed mind ignores the knock or does not hear it. The closed mind is essentially comatose and thus does not entertain new data. Occasionally new data may slip in if the door is left ajar. This data is discounted as either wrong or in some cases intentionally deceptive. The evidence is discarded, and the mind is none the wiser and any possible discomfort is avoided

I had a discussion yesterday with a friend about some research I have been doing on a different subject. This research challenges a long-held belief that she has, rooted in religion.
It wouldn’t actually change much about what she believes, if she would accept it and take a look. But she doesn’t want to. She’s comfortable with what she thinks she knows, and doesn’t want to adjust.
This phenomenon is very common with deep belief systems. The belief that the Earth is flat is akin to religion for a lot of these people, even if it isn’t explicitly religious. The point is, facts won’t change their minds.
No matter what you present, they won’t absorb it. It is cognitive dissonance on display.
I know in many cases the Flerfers read the Bible as saying the earth is flat, and they are literalists…literalism is a pillar of their faith.
So from their POV this isn’t one little thing. Because if it is wrong, then (in their minds) the Bible isn’t infallible and their whole belief structure collapses.
I know. It’s sad to me. I find things all the time in the Bible that don’t seem to mean what people insist they do. Translation from languages as complex as Hebrew and Greek causes some issues. There are interesting nuances that get missed sometimes.
You can, if you dig, find people arguing both sides of that…referencing the original tongues (no one has the original manuscripts, but we have some very old ones)

Dallas is getting drone buzzed like crazy. Wife saw the first one about 3 PM going at a fast clip, straight over a Walmart. The smaller lower seemed to be working in pairs and there was a definite lattice pattern to their movements across the sky, like a systematic search. Saw one go over a neighborhood house within 40 feet. Watched them from the front yard for a while.

Well…why can’t that money be used for a boarding house of sorts for the non well-heeled of the congress critters who can’t afford two houses, and get the guys sleeping in their offices out of them? If the family stayed behind at home, why have a second residence?
Said boarding house could be quite a number of units with hotel suite like apartments, or 800-1000 sq ft apartments with a bedroom, office, kitchen, living space and a full bath. Some of the newer buildings going in here have quite a number of very livable spaces with just that sort of accommodations.
That I would be willing to entertain rather than two homes for every Congress person and one of them in one of the most expensive MSAs in the country.
When I was unemployed I lived in a converted hotel. It was a ‘studio apt’ where the counter top outside the bath had been converted into a min kitchen. I used board and brick book case to section off my bed and that gave me a ‘sitting room’.
It was about 20 ft X 30 ft or 600 sq ft. For the Agenda 21 apts NYC was talking 200 sq ft.

And set it up with a Murphy bed, such that they get whacked into the wall if they pull any RINO deeds

Well…I’m trying. I actually slept on a sleeping wedge we have from some ailment my mother had, and that made a difference. I dragged my computer to the first floor for the day, and my brother’s like, oh so you’re well enough…. At this point, it’s coughing and fatigue. That’s it. Doing the dishes I have to rest a couple times. Same thing happened with my friend who’s husband exposed her to all this.
It’s just taking time. I’ll get there.

HAVE A VERY BLESSED DAY !!!
Since we are doing this examination of the Flerf community, a subset of human’s that likely are less than 0.5% of our species though they seem to have a higher impact than their numbers should allow, a twitter post appeared in my feed that drew some attention.
It was of a picture that we’ve all likely seen at one time or another but it asked a serious question “why does this picture exist?” so I opened the thread. What I found was disturbing but easily shrugged off. We’ve seen this kind of stuff before. One of the contributor’s to this thread was Kim Dotcom a familiar enough poster to us all and he had a video for which I watched the first 10 mins and was sold that there exists a problem. Not sure how big of a problem it is, but it’s much bigger than the Flerf stuff and has the potential to be the source of much angst in the world regardless if this is just another small subset of humanity.
I’ll leave the rest under a cover so as not to mar the rest of the day, week, month or year or life.

Finally finished both vids. Seems a good case was put together showing that this is likely is not a simple minority problem with in the Jewish community, that there is instead a hostility toward Christians and whites and such are seen as an extension of Rome and covertly their subjugation and destruction is being actively sought.
Anyone who can finish either vid and see it differently let me know, but a broad spectrum of mainstream and elite Jewish folk seemed to have expressed that rather clearly.
I have not had a chance to view them yet. I do know there was arguments between the Zionists and the Orthodox and there are films of the Orthodox being beaten in Israel.
I think there is a lot more going on than what we see or hear.

I used the following true story from USMC Lady (Oorah – from a Squid) plus a few memories of my own from the early 50s to write this poem.
When I was a little girl in the 50s and 60s we were poor. My father paid for grandma’s food and utilities, every month, along with our family expenses. Every Christmas this was her gift to my sister and me, one roll of pennies. No one had any idea that she saved those all year to give my sister and me. When I see peoples’ kids screaming how they want this and they want that and they’re mad they didn’t get an iPad. My heart just breaks because what I have a remembrance of is playing the organ with her sitting next to me, singing Christmas songs and telling us the story of the little match girl. I wish I’d kept one roll of those pennies
A Roll of Pennies
Times were hard, way back in the day
It was a struggle to make our way
Dad paid Grandma’s utilities and food
And found money for our own brood
Some might claim that we were poor
But we knew many with less, not more
Dad found a way to make ends meet
But it was such a difficult feat
Christmas was a modest affair
With food, songs and a Christmas prayer

I wanted to read the full 1,500+ page bill & speak with key leaders before forming an opinion. Having done that, here’s my view: it’s full of excessive spending, special interest giveaways & pork barrel politics. If Congress wants to get serious about government efficiency, they should VOTE NO.
Keeping the government open until March 14 will cost ~$380BN by itself, but the true cost of this omnibus CR is far greater due to new spending. Renewing the Farm Bill for an extra year: ~$130BN. Disaster relief: $100BN. Stimulus for farmers: $10BN. The Francis Scott Key Bridge replacement: $8BN. The proposal adds at least 65 cents of new spending for every dollar of continued discretionary spending.
The legislation will end up hurting many of the people it purports to help. Debt-fueled spending sprees may “feel good” today, but it’s like showering cocaine on an addict: it’s not compassion, it’s cruelty. Farmers will see more land sold to foreign buyers when taxes inevitably rise to meet our obligations. Our children will be saddled with crippling debt. Interest payments will be the largest item in our national budget.
Congress has known about this deadline since they created it in late September. There’s no reason why this couldn’t have gone through the standard process, instead of being rushed to a vote right before Congressmen want to go home for the holidays. The urgency is 100% manufactured & designed to avoid serious public debate.
The bill could have easily been under 20 pages. Instead, there are dozens of unrelated policy items crammed into the 1,547 pages of this bill. There’s no legitimate reason for them to be voted on as a package deal by a lame-duck Congress. 72 pages worth of “Pandemic Preparedness and Response” policy; renewal of the much-criticized “Global Engagement Center,” a key player in the federal censorship state; 17 different pieces of Commerce legislation; paving the way for a new football stadium in D.C.; a pay raise for Congressmen & Senators and making them eligible for Federal Employee Health Benefits. It’s indefensible to ram these measures through at the last second without debate.
We’re grateful for DOGE’s warm reception on Capitol Hill. Nearly everyone agrees we need a smaller & more streamlined federal government, but actions speak louder than words. This is an early test. The bill should fail.

No the new CR failed. The old CR was already dead.
The bill require 2/3rds to pass. They are far from that right now.
Most of the opposition republicans (the 32 no votes on R side) are upset that the bill will add 5 trillion to the deficit as written and they see no budget cuts in the bill. That’s two separate issues. The third issue with Republicans is a two year debt ceiling suspension. Trump wanted a 5 year suspension. Again Republican’s opposing the bill don’t see any cuts so they are against suspending the debt ceiling.
Trump sees the debt ceiling as a limitation on his spending priorities as well as seeing it as so much smoke and mirrors since congress continuous to bust through debt ceilings anyways. Trump intends to spend his way out the countries problems.
To get all Republicans on board two things have to be done. Cut some of the new spending. And add cuts to the budget, meaning the old spending. Something that should of been started long ago.
Once we get there we can talk about Democrats.
Frankly Congress can celebrate Christmas on their lap tops. Then continue without a budget until he gets into power and start to bringing the hammer down on the law breakers.

OK – I have a theory.
Look at the diehard patriots – many of whom really love Trump – who voted NO.
Understand that even if those Republicans would have voted YES, the bill would have failed, as long as all the Dems vote NO.
Thus, there was no way it would have passed. Only the Demmunist Pork Pie would have passed, because you need 10 more percent from the other side.
SO – it looks like the government gets shut down, but Trump didn’t do it.
I’m starting to think this was a typical Trump move where he covers the downside, and is OK with either outcome.
The upside and downside may even be non-obvious.
Upside – it fails, but Trump is not to blame, and the government gets shut down. That was the goal, and Trump achieved it.
Downside – the Trump CR wins, which is a bit of a punt down the road, but it fits into Trump’s plan, and the Dems have now exposed all their scams in the original CR.
And by the Demmunists exposing their wish-list, Republicans are united against that horror-show, and have the stomach for a shutdown.
