LOL…funny real life story. A couple weeks ago on Home Depot site I saw 3 gallon size shrubs at an unbelievably low price so I ordered a slew of them. They came within 2 days and sure enough they were big and healthy. I was stoked so I thought I’m going to order more….oops guess they figured out the pricing mistake.. What I bought for $70 was now over $350!
Here comes the kicker. I’m a notorious brown thumb so when the snowmaggeden event happened I’ve had to babysit these plants inside. I’m trying sooo hard to keep them alive so I won’t blow my good luck purchase before I can plant them outside. It sucks t be lousy at plants
where we are, in the middle of nowhere, we fight the snow and the animals. everything you plant, unless you heavily fence it in, the animals feel it’s fair game.

the raccoons climb the young apple trees and eat all the apples just as they ripen. (they break limbs too.)
we fenced in our grapevines, year one. the deer respected it till one dry summer. they learned they could jump the fence and eat the big leaves. and from then on, the grapevines were fair game.
so far our little vegetable garden has been spared…except the chipmunks run in thru the chicken wire and eat the little zucchini when they’re pickle size.
but we keep trying.

One of the homesteading u tubers I watch occasionally found a good way of keeping the deer out of areas. They put up a double fence around the area they didn’t want the deer in. The outer fence was 4′ high and the inner fence was I believe 6′. The deer have poor depth perception and are unable to judge the “safety” of jumping the fence. They do have deer and he hunts them on their property when it’s the season.
we live on a mountain. they found that they can move up the mountain and jump DOWN into the grapevines from the higher elevation. it was all over after that…LOL
I was considering a double fence… With a nice big DOG roaming in between the 2 fences.
These help to be creative… plus, according to some fan sites, they do indeed bloom

That would be a huge win for Denmark, for the royal family of Denmark, for the People of Denmark and for the future of Denmark.
Instead, now Mette has put herself in a position to get nothing. The People of Greenland can hold a referendum, declare independence from Denmark, and unite with America as a protected territory, and there’s not a single thing Denmark can do about it.
A wise leader would have recognized that reality, and obtained the best deal possible for herself and her People, and DJT would have been very generous (too generous, I suspect) if that had been their approach.

Here in BDD (Beautiful Downtown Deutschland [as opposed to Burbank]) there are a number of parties prefaced with “C” which no longer have ANYTHING to do with Christianity or Christian values/mores (CDU, CSU), some with “Democrat” in their name (CDU (again), FDP) that are far more interested in a top-down command economy/misAdministration as opposed to anything with democracy (in the old sense of the word).
Then, in some countries there are the “liberal” parties which are anything but… What really grinds my grits, though, is with the multiplicity of parties and the dirty dealing done behind the scenes, it is all to often that the party(ies) with the most votes and peoples’ support and blocked out via a coalition, sometimes a minority(vote)-led coalition, which should never happen. That’s what gave us in Germany the traffic-light coalition, where the CDU (black symbol color) won the popular vote by a large margin, but the SPD, FDP, and Greens (red-yellow-green symbol colors) ganged together and shut the CDU out. As it turns out, Merkel turned the CDU into another green party, so it didn’t really matter, which is why the AfD is the ONLY alternative for Germany… (blue symbol color, maybe like bluebloods)….. The fact that Elon really likes them is giving the left over here the vapors… also at the EU level…..

At the University of Casual Sun-Bathing, we had our own version of a “Green Death”, served from beverages kept in the freezer. It was layered in a shotglass — the bottom 60-proof Creme de Menthe, the middle 100-proof peppermint schnapps, and the top Bacardi 151. (With such a wide spread of alcohol content, you could continue to pour them even after people had had a couple.) Made for a very attractive presentation [….at least going in].
One option was the Flaming Green Death, where you’d light the 151. Or the Kiddies Green Death, where you put a bit of chocolate syrup on the bottom.
It’s probably a good thing that absinthe was unavailable at the time.

As this week gets started I’d like to share something I think is important for anyone to consider and give thought to. But first…
I received word that yet another dear and close friend of mine has passed unexpectedly. He, too, was a Gen X pureblood, in his mid-50’s, and he was not ill. It is believed he died of a heart attack, and an autopsy will be performed. This marks the fourth (4th) death in my circle, and the 2nd in a week’s time. If anything, I was closer with Dan than I was with Susie, but both were in my very tight circle with whom I texted daily.
Sigh.
Here’s what I want to share…especially with (more) hard news like this, and after having read Pavaca’s post at the end of yesterday’s Open thread.
I want to gently encourage folks to pay attention to their psychology in moments like these. In particular, your mindset and attitude. Here is a true saying….
Attitude is everything. Attitude and mindset can either save you or it can kill you. It truly is the difference between life and death.

Now, don’t take that clip the wrong way. Clint was telling us the mindset and attitude that would allow you to survive a life or death fight. And his words are 100% accurate. But this scene IS instructional, in a broader sense, as to how we CHOOSE to face any hard situation.
Believe it or not, despondency, depression, etc. are emotional choices. Above, Clint is pointing out that those choices lead to death in the situation at hand in the film.
What is unstated is these “choices” can be ingrained reactions, born of messaging and modeling imparted onto us as children (fight or flight responses), and reinforced with the passage of time and repetitive, identical choices which reinforce the “natural reaction”. “But that’s always how I react” is the confirming thought or response highlighting this truth.
However, the thing to realize….to know….is that emotional reaction is a CHOICE. And if the choice is putting you into a emotional hole, robbing you of your joy, your zest for life, your “giddy up and go”, or your will to “fight, fight, fight”, then it is YOUR ENEMY. <— Reread that as many times as needed to sink in, deep!
Now, Pavaca was responding to Carl’s Sunday message, and said, “I know that at some point I’ll be able to wrap my head around what you brought today regarding life after death. But, for now, the passing of our good DePat (Susie) is hard for me. In body, mind, and spirit.”
Guess what?
Satan wants you depressed, despondent, sad, upset, scared, and immobile.
Guess who else does?
So does Big Pharma. All the better to sell you some “anti-depressant”, or any other item from their smorgasbord of mood management poisons.
WHAT THEY DON’T WANT YOU TO KNOW IS THAT YOUR MOODS AND EMOTIONS ARE MENTAL CHOICES THAT YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER.
But then, you already know this. You already know and have practiced situations where you had to “keep your temper”, or “watch your tongue”, or “be patient”, etc, etc.
And yet….who (apart from a jerk) has ever told you to stop being sad, as when you have lost a loved one. That is certainly not what I am trying to do!
What I want to share, after drawing attention to our mental and emotional choices, and the fact that we can control them, is the “how”….especially in cases when we are overcome with grief for the loss of a loved one.
And THIS is what Carl was pointing to in his Sunday message!
A message of hope, and optimism. A good, loving, exciting reason to LOOK FORWARD, not back.
Here is another powerful truth: it is IMPOSSIBLE to feel sad, depressed, despondent, etc. when one is genuinely, authentically, TRULY experiencing a feeling of gratitude.
Here is a case study:
Imagine your house burnt down and you lost everything you owned and was dear to you, but everyone you loved inside made it out unharmed.
What emotional choice would you make in that moment, and especially in the time thereafter?
Would you choose into sadness, depression, and despondency over the “things” you lost, or would you choose to remain grounded in the gratitude and relief you felt that no one you loved dearly was hurt (or worse)??
You know the answer: a house and possessions can be replaced, but people cannot.
Ok. We’re halfway there.
When it comes to our friends and loved ones, it’s true…we cannot replace them.
The question is, are you aware of the emotional choices available to you, and do you have the “thought discipline” and “emotional discipline” to choose into a healthy attitude and mindset in spite of the challenge at hand??
In a life or death fight, do you have the mental and emotional fortitude to get “plumb mad dog mean”? When confronted with an emergency, can you make the choice to stay calm, cool, and collected without panicking? When hit with the unexpected death of a loved one, can you choose into all the many things which Almighty God gave you to be grateful for in knowing and loving that person??
CAN AND WILL YOU CHOOSE INTO BELIEVING IN HIS PROMISES AND THAT YOU WILL SEE THEM AGAIN??
Know this.
To the degree you can answer “yes” to the questions above, you can rightly judge how firmly you stand upon the word of God and the promises of hope, excitement, and optimism with which he has blessed us all. The armor, breastplate, and shields we “put on” in this battle of life.
But the reverse is also true. To the degree you are a slave to your emotions, particularly your negative ones, then you are prey to the enemy (his name is “evil”, “father of lies”, “death”) and his pawns like Big Pharma (who would never sell you a cure for depression or anxiety even if they could….because a cured patient is a lost customer).
I’m not telling you not to be sad. I’m not telling you it is inappropriate to grieve or cry. In fact, we all need a damn good cry every once and awhile (we guys will CHOOSE do it when you ladies can’t see us do it…drives you crazy…but there is an important psychological purpose in that).
Anyway, point is…
When the going gets tough, the tough become very MINDFUL of their psychology and their mental choices. They exercise strict mental and emotional discipline upon themselves. Just ask Clint.
CHOOSE to meet sadness and loss with GRATITUDE. Let this be your strategy going forward. It is INFALLIBLE, and an appropriate, God-given, extremely POWERFUL mental and emotional weapon against the negative emotions that can overwhelm us…AND THIS ESPECIALLY WHEN WE FEEL POWERLESS.
Gratitude leads to hope, which in turn leads to action, which destroys the feeling of powerlessness. By choosing into gratitude, one is taking action which leads to hope and optimism, which itself lead into more action, which accumulates to destroy any sense of helplessness.
If you think about it, the bible is God’s instruction manual on how to deal with human nature, which is itself largely all about psychology. Thing is, the science and language of psychology was not understood at the depth and breadth we do today, a big part of the reasons why Jesus spoke to us in parables.
One last thing…
Anyone can be negative. It’s easy to complain, criticize, find fault, be a victim, etc. So simple a caveman can do it.
The question is, how good are you at gratitude? Most especially, how good are you are utilizing the great and POWERFUL weapon of GRATITUDE when this fallen, corrupt, death-will-visit-us-all-at-some-point world hits you with loss, grief, and sadness??
Does it stop you cold in your tracks, keep you in a funk for weeks, or can you keep your hope and optimism alive in spite of it? Can you get hit multiple times….real, hard, emotional UFC combos…multiple blows at once!….and REFUSE to be a victim to your emotions (and a toy for the enemy), and instead make the choices to cause your emotions to obey your spirit??

I believe you have to allow yourself to grieve–you can’t tamp it down inside. But it shouldn’t become all of who you are.
I lost my mother-in-law, father, sister and brother-in-law in a relatively short amount of time. I allowed myself time to grieve, but then? I put the grief behind me knowing i will be with them again.
I lost two babies before God graciously blessed my husband and I with our two sons. When things don’t go as you assume they will you learn to never take for granted the blessings that come to you. In turn you understand deeply how much having faith in God, Father Son and Holy Spirt is the rock solid firm foundation you need in your life.

I believe every person processes loss and grief in their own way. Some of the process is reflective of family history in this regard. Some of it is reflective of trauma that the survivor has gone through — in Yours Truly’s situation, PTSD (resolved), then concussion (healed) with mild TBI (the TBI is still healing.) Some of it is reflective of previous losses that weren’t processed at all, or processed only in part.
Regarding antidepressants — Yours Truly is just about finished with the long process of tapering down and weaning off an antidepressant. This is not an easy process. It takes months and must be done under the supervision of a physician. The losses of my brother, of my friend “Joycelyn”, and of Susie, have NOT shaken my determination and resolve to get off this poison and never go back to them.
I know I’ll be OK. For some people (Yours Truly is among them), the first days after a loss can be hard.
I repeat to myself several times a day, Joshua 1:9 (KJV):
9 Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid; neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
God bless you and give you strength. You are a strong person and a gift to those who encounter you.

It is my firm belief that gratitude takes practice. I make it a rule that, at the end of every day, I thank God for 3-5 things that I am grateful for that day. Sometimes they are big things, and sometimes they are very small things, but there are always a handful of good things to be grateful for on any day.
Done long enough, this practice will change a person. It changed me.
I believe that if one is in the habit of practicing gratefulness, it becomes easier to do so in the midst of grief.

This reminds me of a discussion during my Christian Counseling grad school training about how the human body, mind, & spirit is all interconnected & impacting one area impacts all the others. In the context of counseling where people often seek assistance when overwhelmed in the emotional arena sometimes the answers are better sought in the body & the mind/soul (as thoughts, emotions, & will), & the spirit.
Sometimes the initial issue is body based, like say a tumor or an endocrine imbalance, so getting those medical needs addressed may reduce the suffering or even resolve things.
In the spirit one can meditate on the Word, pray, worship, & commune w/ God for healing.
However the place that really resonated with me, perhaps because of how I’m wired, is to deal with the mind, especially the thoughts. “Taking every thought into captivity to the obedience & knowledge of Christ”; “God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power & of love & of a sound mind”; “on His law meditate day & night”, etc. Many scriptures tell us the truth & what to do & think & how to pray & interact with others.
There is Always choice involved, which is where our will gets involved. Christ’s prayer at Gethsemane is instructive here as well. Rough approximation “Father if it be Your will let this cup pass from me, but nevertheless not my will but Yours be done!”
“Weeping may endure for a night [or a very protracted season] but joy comes in the morning!”

We are working out Sally’s meds again.
The Hydrocodone pain medication, plus the Lorazapam sedative – prescribed by the hospital at discharge – do not always work.
Hanes cotton work socks filled with rice, heated in the microwave, seem to help the medications work longest and best.
Hospice has prescribed new pain med – a low dose 3 day fentanyl patch, that will be delivered by the pharmacy today and another calming agent, Depakote which we have given one time.
The two calming agents given together seem to really knock her out day and night. I have mixed emotions about knocking her out with meds – relief to have her comfortable and to have peace from her tirades and hostility – guilt over the relief – and fear she is over-medicated.
I’m not going to go home until I’m sure she is stable on the patch and we have a good effective regimen worked out.
Of course, anything can happen when I’m gone – she once had an atrial fibrillation episode when she went for a walk with the caregiver in the heat and again this week when she went out for a walk and got really cold. Extreme heat and cold, extreme moods, inflammation from the tumors and feeling pain – all seem to trigger the afib episodes.
It’s a complex situation and balancing all the meds and all the conditions is an ongoing challenge and can be difficult. There have been no long term solutions on this journey.
Any wisdom and prayers are deeply appreciated.

31 years later, thinking of it brings tears. My solace is that I know, siblings and I made the correct decision for my Mom. Also, DW and her siblings did right by their Mom.
All of that aside. Every situation is unique. SallyQ has communicated her wishes. You have decisions to make, and will make the correct decisions for SallyQ.
My only suggestion, don’t second guess your decision(s). It is already too damn hard to deal with, without compounding emotional stuff.

I agree with kalbo — please don’t beat yourself up with second guessing. You (and Sally Q’s father) have enough to deal with. What’s important now, IMO, is to do what is necessary to keep her comfortable and as free from pain as possible.
Thank goodness that Sally Q has already made her wishes known.

This is the time when you must be taking care of yourself — physically, emotionally, spiritually. Please lean on the Hospice Chaplain service. Please make sure you get rest, eat, stay well-hydrated, get outside when you can.

I am so sorry you are dealing with such a complicated situation. But Sally is blessed to have you.

Consider that sometimes the med professionals will artificially induce a coma for a patient because it is the most effective lifesaving protocol. They are not harming the patient. I’d say that’s a more intense version of what you’re doing.

I have to say something but their generation buys into “it’s all good “ indoctrination drilled into them by the public school system. I know it’ll be like tossing a grenade into their “magic kingdom of believing what they were told and I may lose them or be ostracized but I have to tell them.
I remember in elementary school in Detroit the all the students were haded memeographed permission slips to take home for these programs including fluoride treatments for your teeth. Working class parents took advantage of that as health care insurance programs were not always available from the jobs where they worked. It was one less expense when you’re raising a family. WHO knew what a mess it would be.

My mother had dementia, she didn’t remember me, she kept say “Gee you’re pretty I’d like you to meet my brother Arthur” I replied with “you mean Uncle Arthur Mom?”, she realized what she said. We had fun moments.

My mom is having some periodic memory issues. On Christmas I was sitting in the living room w/ her & Dad, everyone else in the basement at that point, & she started down memory lane on an old friend & her sister. As she was searching her memories about her friend’s sister she suddenly switched & started talking to me As If I were that friend’s sister. She began insisting that I’d had this cancerous condition & a particular surgery. It was fairly surreal & I kept saying “no Mom I never had cancer nor did I ever have surgery”. I had to say it a few times before it registered she was talking To me about someone else, but I wasn’t the person she was discussing.
Sorry your mom went through dementia but it’s great that you were able to find the humor in the process a bit.
A couple years back, after the first time my mom had her memory issues show up we were at their Cottage in Gaylord & she admitted that she was stepping down from her kitchen control. She was humbled & embarrassed that she couldn’t really consistently do meal prep in a timely manner so needed to let others handle the process. I said some encouraging words to her about how we all loved her & that it was OK for her to be where she was & that we’d step in to pick up any slack. Whatever I said seemed to give her a lot of comfort for she kept saying how nice & supportive I was & this wasn’t how she usually verbally interacted with me…not easy to be slipping but hopefully tripping up gently with family love to ease the landing…

I love the sound of typewriters! My parents bought me a used early model electric one where you had to manually return the carriage & the “E” key was missing so I had to manually write in every letter “e”, the most common one in English. My grad school papers Looked so bad with all those handwritten Ee’s & white out, carets, & handwritten corrections LOL
I once tried to get a secretarial job on summer break & took a typing test & I’d only ever had one typing class for a semester in 8th grade. So for a 5 minute typing test I got 11 words/minute with 19 mistakes! The tester had to work Really Hard to keep a straight face as they let me down gently 
Over here in BDD (Beautiful Downtown Deutschland, H/T Johnny Carson and Beautiful Downtown Burbank), there used to be jokes about support calls to HP and other vendors about the ENIKI…
And the support folks would ask, WHAT???????

I used to hang out near the wedding cake, when forced to attend a wedding, & take a finger to swipe off the left behind frosting flourishes when no one was looking!

I grew up in the Detroit area (suburbs) & returned after 15 years away, 10 in OK & 5 in Northern MI so we have some of that in common. My parents both went to Cooley
I grew up by the Detroit City Airport. It was a nice working class neighborhood German, Polish and assorted ethnic mixed it for character and fun.
I remember being by Detroit City, we’re like 15 minutes from Metro Airport that I’m quite familiar with, when in HS. I had a crush on this guy at my church (Van Dyke & Nevada then) & somehow managed to go to some of his basketball games at De La Salle back in the early 80’s & he lived near City Airport
Ah, Cooley High School . My Dad brother Uncle Bill lived on the west side. My cousins went to Cooley. They all were successful.
Oh oh you’ll LOVE this! My Aunt Dorothy, marred to uncle bill made and décor wedding cakes from home! (imagine all the icing in tubes ready and waiting to be on a tiered wedding cake, ..
) oh and the sparkles too.
There house was a bungalow and one of their four kids bedroom was upstairs in the attic a long stairway up to his room.
Oh and they had a finished basement with a bar!
As kids my sister and brothers were impressed it was nice. We loved going to visit there.

I don’t really remember the houses my parents grew up in, Dad’s on Cheyenne & Mom’s on Tuller, for their parents (my grandparents, both sets) moved out in the late 60’s following the race riots when the racist block busters scared them out & I was very young.
My dad said that he used to have to deal with the coal clinkers in their basement so I doubt that they had a finished basement. He also said his dad kept a pail of sand in their attic during WWII in case their house caught fire in a bombardment so I doubt their attic was finished either.
We live in a bungalow as do our 2 kids who are homeowners & live in our neighborhood. Ours had an upstairs addition so there are 3 BR upstairs & 2 downstairs. Hubby made a 6th “bedroom” (it didn’t have a closet nor direct outside access as required for an actual BR) in the basement probably about 20 years ago so our twins could have separate bedrooms as the one without special needs wanted his own space. Hubby had converted the platform bed he made for our oldest son into a bunkbed for our twins but once Brandon moved into the basement then he restored it to a platform bed with a play zone underneath for Josiah’s room. After Josiah had his Liver Transplant at age 17 he did a bunch of different stuff to that room to make his recovery easier including adding a cot so he didn’t have to climb back onto that platform while he was healing & in pain.
Hubby recently tore out the wall & door for the basement bedroom leaving up part of the other wall he’d built to convert some of our basement into a very functional family room, trying to make our house work better for having a gang over, including little grandkids, for holiday gatherings.
Our son’s house had a small attic zone on the front side of his house that his future MIL funded the conversion of into a nice closet before her daughter moved in upon their marriage. Our attic is pretty cramped & filled mostly with Christmas decorations. Our daughter’s attic zone is off the landing toward the backyard. There is enough room in That attic to make it into possibly a nursery, a playroom, or perhaps a sewing or craft room.
My husband’s Mom and Dad grew up in the UP, The Kewenaw area. We drove his Mom up there to spend the summer with her sisters, they used to gather together up there.
My mom’s parents were both from the UP, one Newberry & the other Negaunee. They had a cottage on Pike Lake that I visited when a very young child. Mom remembers going to that cottage as a child & taking the ferry before the Mackinac Bridge was built

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

The vote count is only important for a favorable recommendation to go to the Senate floor for the vote. An unfavorable vote does not kill the nomination. It can still be brought up on the floor for a vote.
There is nothing in the constitution that says the Senate has live-or-die control over cabinet officers. Somebody made the mistake of letting DJT know this and now he’s not likely to pull Tulsi’s name from consideration.
All he has to do is issue an E.O. appointing her as ODNI chief and she is it. If the Senate doesn’t like it, it can sue. This could be another MAGA earthquake waiting for the best moment for detonation.

In my official capacity of “Asker of Silly Questions”, I just called the funeral home for De Pat and spoke to “Debbie”.
I told her that — besides all the people who knew her IRL, Susie also had an internet following that deeply felt her loss. In return, I was informed that the family was already braced for having far more “singing people” than family at her service. I asserted my lack of knowledge of such matters, and wondered if Susie’s service would be streamed — as her internet friends were all over the globe. Debbie told me that she knew that this had been done at times, but didn’t know anything about this particular instance.
She would speak with her Funeral Director, but recommended that I call the church — which I did, but their answering machine says they are open only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

There is a non-obvious interrelationship between the nominations of Pete Hegseth and RFK Jr.
RFK Jr. needs to be confirmed for national security purposes.
What do I mean?
America has a health crisis with young people in the ages of 18-28, the military’s primary recruiting demographic. Obesity, reliance on SSRIs and other mood altering drugs, allergies and asthma, and a host of other modern medical conditions are epidemics that render huge portions of that demographic unfit to serve in the military.
Even when you look at the troops who are currently serving, a much higher percentage of those troops are fat than at any other time I can recall.
RFK Jr. needs to get into office so he can transform nutritional and prescription drug guidelines and policies, and make America healthy again.
Pete Hegseth’s focus on warfighting and lethality depends on a healthy generation of young people who are fit to serve.
Our national defense needs RFK Jr. as much as it needs Pete Hegseth.
This may or may not be related for warriors of the future.
I was thinking of my parents’ great-grandkids & how 5 of the 6 are girls. I thought male births were typically outpacing female births but by the time adulthood was reached the numbers were pretty even as boys tended to die at higher rates historically.
Parents born in the 40’s, kids mostly the 60’s, grandkids mostly the 90’s, ggks 2022+
My parents’ kids & then their kids (having children) & their kids:
Daughter (me in MI): 3 boys, 1 girl; oldest son: 2 girls; daughter: 1 girl

Has something changed the rate of births between the sexes & if so what happened?

Those pics aren’t great for making comparisons given hairline, jawline, & the angles from which the images were taken. Maybe there are more pics available?
It wasn’t a long search so maybe but I doubt it. Lucky the one on right still had a news story posted on it. It’s two years old. They didn’t say she was American in the story. I’m assuming since she’s a reporter she’s likely a CIA hire told to be belligerent. She was also mentioned as part of protest marches. My guess is she got married and thus the name change. Heck she might of married her CIA handler. If that’s the case hats off to him for finding an opportunity in getting her released.

I think I did. But may have used mojeek. Can’t remember. But since I found the recent story with her pic and it’s a foreign source I bet I did use yandex.
