This went on for FOUR YEARS but Alpha out stubborned them with help from the MAGA/Badlands community. After Trump was sworn in they dropped all the charges.

On those occasions where I have to go to CA for business I try very hard not to get onto I-10 or I-15 during the trip because my hindbrain knows those are escape routes and I might not be able to stop. Work would be upset with me for absconding early.

I just heard some Trump-hating talking head on TV chastising Republicans for allegedly portraying all federal employees as lazy and unproductive. The talking head talked further about how dedicated so many federal workers are, and how insulting them will backfire on the GOP.
The talking head missed the point. The Democrats miss the point. Most federal workers miss the point.
I’ll tell you the point:
The point is the MERE EXISTENCE of many federal jobs, and not the nature of the people filling those positions. The point is that the mere existence of most federal jobs harms the nation, lessens liberty, lessens prosperity and attacks the freedoms of average Americans. So if a federal worker holds such a harmful position and dedicates himself/herself to doing the best possible job imaginable, their zealous, competent performance of duties INCREASES the harm the position creates.
The main issue is the MERE EXISTENCE of the unelected, unaccountable federal bureaucracy, and not the people keeping the chairs warm.
So stop pretending we’re insulting people when we merely speak truth about the dangers of unlimited bureaucracy.

I then get a phone call from the VP wanting to know why I had not given his guys the data. I explained my new instructions and we agreed I would give a zeroxed hand written copy to his secretary to type up so they got the info. in a timely fashion.
A couple months later the blow up comes and they find ALL my reports that ‘never got to marketing’ (hee hee) stuffed in a file in my Boss’s desk. So I did not get fired, he did.

I know this is just one guy, but I think it is indicative of the type of mentality you see in DC. People who are more interested in climbing the ladder than in working. Of course it is seen in corporations too, but I think DC has a much worse case of it because in the corporate world it is self-limiting via bankruptcy while in DC it is not.

If I understand correctly, the sequence is:
Executive order establishes DOPE. (Department of Public Education.) He has the authority to do this, kind of, but it can be rescinded with another order.
Congress passes a law establishing DOPE. This makes the executive order moot. And it cannot be undone with an EO, since it’s now law passed by congress.
It doesn’t matter that congress was “confirming” an EO; actually they overrode it and rendered it irrelevant, they’re a higher authority.
But did step two actually ever happen? The “establishment” of the DOPE? Great acronym, BTW.
Yes, that is the key question. I misunderstood you earlier, you seemed to be saying that because the act of congress (if it happened) was confirming an EO, it would go away if the EO did.
One other angle I just thought of is that DOPE is surely mentioned in budgets. That would be enough to establish it even if they didn’t write a specific law to create it.

That does not happen unless the gov’t allows it to happen.
The only reason any gov’t would allow transnational criminal organizations to exist WITHIN their sovereign borders, decade after decade after decade, regardless of who the president is, is because the president and the rest of the government have been bought off.
Think of it this way.
Suppose you own a farm, and on your farm are some little kids, 7 year olds and 8 year olds, children you could easily just pick up and put them anywhere you want them. You could take them to children services, drop them off at the police station, or take them home to their parents house.
That is the extent of your power over them.
But those kids are bringing you gold every day. So those kids get to stay on your farm for as long as they like, so long as the gold keeps coming in like clockwork.

Gomer in the Bible was the unfaithful wife of Hosea the prophet. The Lord used Hosea and Gomer’s relationship as an object lesson to show how Israel had sinned against Him by following other gods and how God remains faithful even when His people don’t.
God gave Hosea an unusual command: “Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord” (Hosea 1:2). Hosea obeyed by marrying Gomer, and the couple had two sons and a daughter (verses 3–8). Some commentators believe that Gomer was a prostitute or that she had been guilty of repeated sexual sin before she married Hosea. Others believe that God’s description of Gomer as “promiscuous” is prophetic—that is, God’s command anticipated her infidelity, and only later did she become an adulteress.
We do know that, after bearing three children, Gomer left Hosea to live with another man (or, if she was originally a prostitute, to return to her former lifestyle). God then gave Hosea another, even more amazing, command: “Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another man and is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods” (Hosea 3:1). Hosea obeyed, buying his wife back with fifteen shekels of silver and some barley (verse 2). This loyal love, undeterred by Gomer’s unfaithfulness, God meant as a picture of His own love for His wayward, idolatrous people.
Hosea prophesied during the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezkiah in Judah and the last six kings in Israel. Isaiah was a contemporary prophet, and he used some very strong language to describe Judah’s unfaithfulness. Through Isaiah, God calls Jerusalem “a whore” (Isaiah 1:21, ESV) because of her spiritual unfaithfulness. The people were interested only in pleasure (Isaiah 5:11–12) and had forgotten things like justice and righteousness in favor of violence and chaos (Isaiah 5:7). Through Isaiah, God speaks passionately about His love for Judah, calling them a vineyard that should have yielded a beautiful crop but instead yielded only “wild grapes” (Isaiah 5:1–2), nothing of value.
God says through Hosea that Israel had left Him to cherish “prostitution, wine and new wine” (Hosea 4:11), and He makes it clear that both the men and the women were committing adultery with cultic prostitutes in worship of false gods (verse 12). Gomer was a fitting symbol of Israel because of the sexual nature of the idolatry that the people were practicing. Their spiritual adultery was resulting in actual, physical adultery. Such ritual prostitution was a common method of worshiping Baal.
Hosea says that God will remove the names of the Baals from Israel’s mouth and betroth her to Him forever, in righteousness and justice, in steadfast love and mercy (Hosea 2:17, 19). God will heal them by His own power (Hosea 14:4–7). These passages foreshadow the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit dwelling in us is who keeps us from following Israel’s bad example and straying from the Lord.
The metaphors of prostitution and adultery are used repeatedly throughout Scripture to describe unfaithfulness to the Lord. Many of the prophets used sexual immorality as a picture of spiritual unfaithfulness to the Lord to whom the people belonged (Ezekiel 16:32; 23:27; Jeremiah 13:27). In the New Testament, similar language is employed in James 4:4 and Revelation 17:2.
Gomer’s infidelity was a symbol of Israel’s spiritual unfaithfulness, but Hosea’s marriage to and redemption of Gomer is an enduring symbol of God’s faithfulness and provisional redemption of His unfaithful people, then and now, through Jesus Christ. God’s words to ancient Israel should fill us with hope today: “I will betroth you to me forever; / I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, / in love and compassion. / I will betroth you in faithfulness, / and you will acknowledge the Lord” (Hosea 2:19–20).

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Gotta tell you, I’m impressed so far. Here’s why. We had some trouble plugging the cord from the router into the dish/receiver. I figured out that the male end was loose and had moved into an offset position. My son jiggled it up into its proper spot, and it plugged right in. But we had already called support for help, and were awaiting a callback.
When they called, I explained what had occurred. They are SENDING A NEW RECEIVER. Even though it is working fine (I’m on it as I type), they are replacing it anyway. Excellent service. I’m so excited.

The deadliest U.S. aviation accident in 25 years has investigators scrambling to reconcile conflicting data. The airliner’s black box recorded 325 feet, while control tower data put the Army Black Hawk at 200 feet—a 100-foot discrepancy that remains unexplained.
NTSB officials say the helicopter’s black box, damaged by water, is delaying answers. So far, 42 victims have been recovered from the Potomac River, with more expected. Officials call it a “complex investigation” as families await closure.

Apparently DJT has banned all military helicopters from the D.C. Reagan Int’l Airport flight paths.
As I asked the other day, when the military has military bases all over the planet to do military training, why are they training at night, in civilian air space, at one of the busiest airports in the country?
Whose idea was that?
Does the army do live fire training exercises next to public schools too?
WTH?
Apparently the helicopter was a mile off course, 125 feet above its maximum allowable height and never deviated from its course toward the airplane.

In high school I forgot about an essay- and I quickly threw together something on the typewriter (did I just age myself?!) and turned in my half-assed essay.
I got an A-.
It bothered me. I knew it was not my best work. So I asked my teacher about the grade.
She explained that she spoke with my speech language pathologist who told her that some of my grammatical errors are from language acquisition barriers due to my hearing loss.
“I want to be graded just as same as the other students. If I could hear, what grade would I have gotten?”
D.
“I deserve a D. Yes, English is very hard for me, but I am capable of learning- if you teach me what I did wrong, then I will learn more from the D that I earned than the A- I did not.”
She gave me the D with some feedback about subject-verb agreement; dangling modifiers, and punctuation. She allowed
me to redo it for a B.
Just because it’s harder to learn some things, it doesn’t mean we are excused from learning.

It was reported yesterday or this morning that the Dept. of Education would be next. Things are moving at breakneck speed. I love it!
School districts throughout the country get some funding from the Department of Education, which many have come to rely on. However, there are always strings attached, with onerous reporting requirements as well as (at times) ideological requirements.
This is a case where worried school districts and state departments of education are like abused wives who depend on their abusive husbands. The abusive husbands also lay down the laws, however unreasonable and unhelpful.
When freed, school districts and state DOEs could well be amazed! Imagine instead of having to plead with TBTB in DC, local parents and teachers could 1) work together locally to decide what’s best for their kids; 2) travel a relatively short distance to the state capital to talk directly to TBTB there. Yes, wokeness and corruption must be GONE at all levels, but once gone, local and state bodies can figure it out. If one state does this well, other states can learn and emulate.
May it be so.

All @DOGE did was check to see which federal organizations were violating the @POTUS executive orders the most.
Turned out to be USAID, so that became our focus.
