Some Thoughts on Art, Science & Religion
I’ve promised that I would talk about certain things dealing with science and religion, but in the process, I realized that I would likely need a “pre-talk” for reasons I’ll make clear.
I have also been engaged in activities in the art world, which made me realize that “my liberal friends” are in a very similar situation to us – and yet it’s almost unknown to people here. I want to talk bout that, too, because it might help people to see something analogous to our own problems afflicting somebody else.
SO – let me get to the point in a few paragraphs, if I can.
I want to start off by addressing my fellow believers in God.
I believe something very simple, which you likely agree with, but which may seem baffling to some.
I believe that it is more important to be right about the existence of God, than to be right about anything else, particularly the worldly truths of what we call “science”.
There are many reasons behind this, including numerous citations from both the Old and New Testaments, as well as a basic acceptance of the central message of Jesus Christ. As a follower of Christ, I not only believe the following as a consequence of accepting his authority on the topic – I find it “true in practice” as a biblically consistent part of His teachings.

Some might say to me “Who are you, to be accepting this for any reason BUT authority?” – To which I would reply “I’m a human who God made skeptical – so I test everything!”
Anyway, my immediate point is that I am going to be talking about things which might conflict with other people’s deeply held religious beliefs. If so, then I invite you to ignore me, and to ignore what I will have to say. I will not be offended. While some may believe that testing belief strengthens it, others do not, and I refuse to pick a side in that fight. I invite YOU to make a choice – hear me or ignore me.
Inside you is a child, and I don’t want that child to stumble.
OK? Good! Let’s move on.
One of the things that I have noticed with my “liberal art friends” (some of whom may be “liberal arts friends” as well) is that they have ALL LEFT TWITTER/X. They are all on BlueSky now. They have chosen a walled garden – a plantation – where they can censor each other off the platform as hard and unfairly as they want.
They are now fully in an echo chamber, and they can no longer hear us.
I am not actually sure what needs to be done next. X is much more peaceful, now that so many leftists have left.
The main thing which I have noticed among these BlueSky leftists, is the almost supernatural effect that the “trans narrative” has on them. It is a necessary virtue signal that MUST be adhered to by even the most open-minded and otherwise scientific BlueSky leftists.
This is where I begin to see a great truth. Almost everybody has “science” they don’t like and don’t believe, but which other people, often a majority, do believe.
In fact, it gets even finer. BIOLOGY bothers almost everybody. And even worse, there are people who come up with bad solutions to the “bother” – many people are then attracted to the bad solutions – and together they form what one could call “pseudoscience movements”.
It’s a mess – am I right?
Well, I will do my best.

Right before the Oval Office meeting, Obama’s team of Zelensky handlers urged him to reject Trump’s offer.
Then, US elected leaders met with him and slathered him liberally with flattery and promises of support.
Then, someone may have given him and additional pep talk and a wee dose of coke in the limo on the way over to the White House.
Zelensky was definitely primed to behave the way he did. He’s not his own man, but a tool of global interests – war machines, those wanting to take over and pillage Russia.

From a merely symbolic perspective I would reason that Zelenskyy imagines himself a freedom fighter typical of the second half of the 20th century. Role models such as Che Guevara, Castro, Mao, even Stalin come to mind. Since he is described as an actor by some sources, that would plausibly fit his psych profile. Thus the green “fatigues” carries the symbolic message.

Thanks! Yes, I’ve been out exploring – doing research – and have found some great stuff, but it’s not great for everybody. However, I think that, just like we had to embrace and understand the science deeply to fight the COVID wars, we’re going to have to embrace and understand a lot of other science even more deeply to fight the gender, climate and energy wars.
AI can’t win the fight for truth, IMO – it echoes our mistakes too easily. It can only help us to win.
Getting on a spherical planet is the first step. Getting on a spherical planet of great age is the second step. But ultimately, getting past the mistakes and deceptions which have crept into the controlled, compromised, and misled “mainstream” science will take a deep understanding while avoiding the compromises which allowed human science to be taken over.

Since (and I still fight to understand this) “time” falls out of “space”, this is a very important point.
Wolf, I have been thinking very deeply about the fact that while humans exist on a timeline, God does not.
The implications of that idea are staggering. In essence, it means that in God’s reality, everything that ever happened, everything that is happening, and everything that ever will happen is right now.
Thinking about this has altered pretty much everything I have ever thought about.
Last night, I thought about how all my life, I have always felt God’s presence, even when things were really, really bad. About how I have somehow managed to survive the kind of childhood that completely breaks many people; I am basically intact, though not perfectly. And it occurred to me to pray that God would be present to that little girl who is my past self, because though she is past to me, she is present to God. Because maybe that thought and that prayer is the reason I always felt God with me, and survived. I didn’t pray that He would change events; I wouldn’t be who I am or have the same life I do now, and I love my life. I have kids and people in my life that I might not have if I had lived otherwise. I just prayed that I would feel His presence through it all. And I did.
See what I mean? No “time” for Him changes the whole perspective.
I’ve had this “knowledge” for decades.
It also explains why the future that happens depends on our voluntary choices AND that God the Father is ‘ready’ for whatever future we choose.

Exactly! Conceptually, you have gotten past a very difficult point – the point where humans reach the edge of understanding, and tend to impose concepts and limitations of our universe on God. You have already put into words where I’m going, and I urge people to re-read what you just said as many times as necessary to internalize it.
We have limited the God concept too much, IMO. The genius of the Abrahamic God abstraction is that God doesn’t just create “things” – He creates everything, even existence itself. It’s essentially a postulated asymptotic limit in all dimensions of meaning.
A tool that I find useful is the idea that God owns / creates / controls an infinity of infinities. We cannot assume that even the entire creation of our universe is “everything”, whether our universe is finite or (should it just be a pop in something bigger but either observable or understandable) infinite.
The ancients were, ironically, more comfortable with these ideas than we are.
These ideas make discussions of thousands of years vs. millions (thousands of thousands) or billions (thousands of thousands of thousands) all seem puny and nearly indistinguishable.
TL;DR- however big and powerful you think God is, he’s bigger and more powerful.
Even big and powerful are limiting terms.

This is because “science” in my opinion, which has claimed to explain everything. So people don’t want to accept the “inexplicable.” They have been trained to believe there’s an “explanation” for everything.

They still have to go through these documents to protect the victims. Other things that can be redacted are grand jury and national security information. But Bondi sounds committed to releasing as much as possible. She also mentioned the JFK and MLK files and “all of these cases.”
Bondi says they will not be pulling pages out for redaction, as has been done in the past. “If something is redacted, you will know the line and you will know why it’s redacted,” like a victim’s name.
This is good news.
However, it leaves an important question unanswered.
Bondi had many days where she knew that she, by her own admission, “had received only a few hundred pages of material and knew something was wrong. I kept asking, is this all of it?” (**and I am paraphrasing this here**)
And yet, she made no course correction before plunging into the PR mess she created. She never told us…”hey, we have a problem. I told you that this would be happening tomorrow, but there is a snag.”
Instead, she elected a different path, one which resulted in the big dustup.
WHY was this her choice??
Point is….SHE is the one who created the expectation that went unfulfilled, and SHE didn’t do anything to correct the expectation SHE HAD SET before that moment arrived.
The bigger point is this….
The expectation was a document dump. Show me ANY PROOF that she set the expectation that there would be “phases” of a rollout of info, as is NOW the new expectation. If she set that expectation, and I missed it, then that is admittedly on me. But I didn’t set the public’s expectation on this matter, Bondi did.
And THAT is why so many people were pissed off.
Moreover, it is a flat-out no brainer that the AG of the USA is tasked with carefully, skillfully, and artfully managing the public’s expectations. And on THAT measure the woman failed. Period.
I get the sense from comments in yesterday’s thread that people don’t feel criticism of Bondi was justified. Well, two things.
A) It damn sure was, especially given all the above

B) we have yet to see anything that hasn’t already been made public prior to now.
So Bondi’s and this administration’s promises remain as yet unfulfilled, AND the goal posts WERE moved.
The above all said, I will continue to hope that this was A) simply a rookie mistake that will never be repeated, and B) that all promises will be fulfilled.
Nevertheless, I note that rather than a document dump, the “phased” release of this info means “managed”, with no guarantees when said “phases” of release will occur.
Juxtaposed against oft-repeated promises of Jan 6 tapes (which apparently should NEVER HAVE BEEN MADE, if one believe only the Capital Hill police can authorize such a release), any and all upset regarding this entirely avoidable fustercluck is entirely and REASONABLY understandable.
In fact, a simply but humble “mea culpa” from Bondi would go a LONG way towards righting this listing ship….notmerely announcing that all the documents have now been received and person X at FBI’s NY office has gotten the boot.
By her own admission, she wondered, not knew. She relied on what the FIB told her.

The “wall of text” format on a discussion site rarely is effective. In real life how do you feel when the other person speaks for 3 minutes before waiting to see what you have to say in response.
I disagree it was too long of a post, and responded to him in the same format he chose to respond to me.

Maybe what I meant (and did not articulate well) is that give-and-take conversations are more effective for creating opportunity for people to gain new understanding that can change their minds about the topic.
Personally I struggle, a lot, with taking in more than one thing as part of a conversation. In fact there is a word for what I experience in verbal conversation. Aphasia.
Aphasia is a disorder that results from damage to portions of the brain responsible for language, typically affecting the ability to express and understand language, as well as read and write.
It’s not horrible, but as an engineer I had to learn methods of overcoming this through always having pen/paper, retraining my brain to wire extra steps when I listen so I could remember at least a little of what was said.
How it affects me in reading written conversation is that I get lost when someone writes about too many things in the same post. I lose track, go back and try and find where we were at, maybe find my way again, or just give up.
And if the content is also emotionally charged enough to cause me to feel overwhelmed, then it’s doubly hard to stay on track.
It’s a testament to my deep respect for you, and all those that converse at the tree, that I continue to read and respond here.

She also doesn’t know how closely we followed the Trayvon Martin case and her mishandling of that one, which seemed like pandering to the race mongers.
I wish Bondi and Kash would concentrate on cases, prosecutions and reforms, not PR and media appearances.

Just as you can’t pronounce someone guilty because there is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty, the leader of an agency can’t state that someone is guilty, or state what their motives are, untiil there is solid proof. I think that would taint any investigation and make him/her seem biased.

I have a really bad, but effective way to lose weight. Catch Type A flu – lose 10 lbs. over 2.5 weeks. Wait a few days. Catch a bad case of Norovirus. Lose 8 lbs. over 3 days. Wait a week to determine real weight loss because you will have chosen to avoid food during those events. If you are similar to me, you will have learned a better way to eat with smaller portions, much less sweet food and do it at a slower pace.
You also may find as I have that at my age I need to rethink my pace of life, habits and exposure. It appears 16 of the 18 lbs. is real weight loss. I had it to lose, but for many that would be concerning. However, it has eliminated any need to diet this spring. The interesting thing is I have not had to take a sinus allergy med the entire time. Cleaned out sinuses.
A week after catching it (too late for me) I learned from a doc I know in Texas that Xofluza helps the body kill Type A from a doc as long as you administer within 48 hours. Do so if at all possible. Far more effective than Tamiflu. My son-in-law took it 46 hours after coming down with Type A and was back on the job in two days, whereas I dealt with it for weeks. However, it did not stop him from also catching the Norovirus of his son, which has gone through their family other than our daughter. Clearly that virus prays on a weakened immunity.
Apparently my wife and daughter share an immunity that helped them avoid it. Mr. Superspreader was Grandson #2 who caught it and brought it home from school.

I am slowly losing weight. However I have every intention of staying ~ 20 lbs over weight because I know when you are older you can shed 10 or more pounds pretty fast when you become ill.

Barbara Mertz solved that one. She wrote novels. LOTS of novels. I have several and just finished Children of the Storm. April 2003. It Covers the 1919–20 digging season in Egypt. Her history was interesting given the reading I have been doing on the UK and Egypt. She is one of my favorite authors.
Actually started reading those after recommendations from here. Quite good. Sent the entire series to my mother who has now finished it and wants more stuff by Peters. Me I’m still on book two but only because I’ve a stack of other books, so I only read bits at a time while waiting in the car. Most enjoyable and accurate given the non fiction stuff I’m reading.
Just a note on the Egyptology thing.
Natasha Rambova, former wife to Rudolph Valentino, had so much contempt for Egyptologists, so much so that after wandering around in Egypt for 2 years finally figured out the Egyptology racket, and in order to fulfill the wish of her former and recently deceased benefactor Mary Conover Mellon who ran a publishing house for books she thought American’s needed to know about, one day walked into the Museum of Antiquities and absconded with an Egyptologist from Russia that would finally translate the Pyramid Text into English, actually she’d do the English stuff, as her Egyptolgist was Russian and wrote in French. (she had experiences with Russians having once been hidden away from her mother by one until she was of legal age to have such relationships. Later he shot her in the leg while escaping on her own accord).
The Pyramid Text were first deciphered by Maspero in 1884 in French.
Kurt Sethe took over from there and published translations running all the way up to 1923 in German.
Mary Mellon signed up Henry Breasted to finally do a translation in English in 1937 but he died the same year.
It wasn’t until Samuel Mercer in 1952 that we got the first English Translation, BUT! Mercer who was a Bollingen Fellow (means he signed up to work for Mary Mellon) was aware of Natasha Rambova being awarded a five year expedition to do a series of works with Russian Egyptologist Alexandre Piankoff, whom she stole from a Cairo Museum (same one Maspero had worked at) that included translating the Pyramid Text into English. Her expedition started in 1948 and ran through 1953. Mercer undercut her by going to Breasted’s son for his fathers penciled copies and to the Museums that held the works of Maspero and Kurt Sethe in order to be the first English Translator of the Pyramid Text. As result the Piankoff, Rambova translation did not come out until both died separate strange deaths within the same month.

Today is Mardi Gras! Tomorrow, Lent begins!
Born in New Orleans – family in NOLA and Thibodaux – Mardi Gras, carnivals Bourbon Street, bacchanalia and seeing adults out of control, under the influence of fleshly passions and chemical agents is repugnant to me. I do like traditional Mardi Gras pancakes, donuts, sweets.
My grandmother made New Orleans style donuts frequently and cut them into little animals for us children. She used powdered sugar on some and cinnamon sugar on others, and left some plain. We loved them all.
My kinfolk in Louisiana and in Georgia were excellent cooks and I was blessed doubly with two kinds of Southern cooking!
I need Lent and to seek the LORD more deeply and intensely than ever this year. Sally Q is needing more pain medicine, doesn’t have much appetite, is having trouble with remembering to swallow. She may not be able to take pills or solid food much longer.
I’m going to make a quick trip home to pick up packages, drop my tax papers off, engage a yard service, and shop at Walmart and Publix. No more overnights in my near future, because Sally needs meds and checks of her blood glucose now during the night.
Sabrina, her other caregiver may be facing some serious health issues. She has an appointment at her gynecologist next Tuesday.
Because of this and Sally’s condition, I may not be able to go home at all in the future.
One good thing – Sally did not want to see the pierced, leftist, lesbian Hospice chaplain again…who told her she did not worship God or the devil, but somewhere in between.
AND Sally does want to see the pastors who are conservatively, Biblically Christian.
Your prayers and encouragement, my times of worship are what is holding me up – worth more than gold.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

The Ishtar qoute may be an over magnification of her worse traits, but those traits can be found. Spanning as much time Christianity has flourished since the time of Christ but in the opposite direction. The goddess has met with many dissenters and actual foes along the way who have colored her view toward the negative rightly or wrongly, thus changing perceptions of her along the way. I’m not speaking of from Christ on ward. We haven’t learned much of her at all until first George Smith, an Assyriologist deciphered the Epic of Gilgamesh and wrote about it in his 1876 “The Chaldean Account of Genesis” and much later Samuel Noah Kramer and others began to pull together and decipher more evidence of her long story and impact on the ancient world circa the 1950’s.

During the thousands of years the cult of Inanna/Ishtar thrived (Sargon the Great’s daughter Enheduanna first thrust the minor cult deity upon the then civilized world circa 2300BC in an effort to elevate her father and unify his empire, doing so she actually is credited with being the first known author as she includes her name to several of her works) it was in competition for resources from the very beginning with with other cults to other gods whose cult centers would do what they must to constantly redefine the goddess in order to attract those resources to their own temples. The goddess’s cult was also in competition with other rising empires of the time, many that sought her powers as goddess of war, love and fertility. Most notably of Babylonia during King Hammurabi’s time who had to deal with the decaying and decadent cities of Sargon the Great’s empire and brought out the god Marduk and his new pantheon who conveniently sequestered politely the old gods in the nether world. This happened to all the old gods with the exception of Inanna as her fame was too great so then she was often dented and demeaned as much as possible in order to elevate Marduk and his.
Anyways, all that said, my view on Inanna/Ishtar is that she comes across as the some what doted upon goddess, a some what impetus child, that took a roll in worldly affairs where none was given her when ever the gods created a vacuum through their own brittle inaction by inserting herself in middle of events to change outcomes in her own (woman’s) favor and doing such she was both fierce and irreconcilable just as gods of war often are. Essentially she was the woman’s voice in a violent world that demanded a voice who played hard and fast with the rules.
You can come to these conclusions by reading the stories of her as Inanna by Enheduanna. All are notable. Her dealings with Gilgamesh where her beginnings are told, her destroying a mountain that would not bow down to her despite being told no by her grand father, her decent down to and escape from the underworld after she was advised not to go, her condemning her husband to the same underworld after he failed to be concerned for her absence, her stealing the worlds technologies from her uncle to show the people, are some that stand out.
The first time we get a good view of the goddess is in Samuel Noah Kramer’s “The Sumerians, Their History, Culture, and Character” 1963,which makes for a good primer for the back ground of the over all subject.
The first time her stories are told are told in full is in Samuel Kramer & Diane Wolksteins’ “Inanna, Queen of Heaven and Earth” 1983. At that time they did not understand who the author of these stories was.

Yes, eventually Ashtoreth is one of several goddess that assumed Isthar’s attributes, but not the last, some were shared with Isis in Egypt, Venus in Rome an Aphrodite in Greece. Somewhere in there, there seemed an emphasis away from her more war like nature as the feminine aspects were emphasized until she disappeared from the scene entirely.
I think there was even a potential connection to the Curse of Oak Island show with some type of necklace/amulet found on the island that harkened back to Carthage, iirc, & a similar female deity that might have been Ishtar…

For years the propaganda press has tried to dismiss concerns about legitimate fraud associated with mail-in ballots.
“Yes, voter fraud happens,” The Associated Press’ Ali Swenson wrote in October. “But it’s rare and election offices have safeguards to catch it.” A few weeks later, The Associated Press released a video entitled “Why voter fraud isn’t really a problem in U.S. elections,” with a subhead claiming there are “many safeguards to detect it.”
Meanwhile, CNN posted a video entitled “Trump stokes fear over voter fraud in Pennsylvania. CNN fact-checks his claims.” Notably, the subhead for the video acknowledged that officials identified “incidents of suspected voter registration fraud.”
But the thing that “rarely” happens happened again (and no, Ms. Swenson, none of the “safeguards” worked).
Pennsylvania’s vulnerable online voter registration system allowed three Democrats to try and “steal the 2021” general election for the Mayor of Millbourne after they gamed the online voter portal to fraudulently register nearly three dozen non-residents.
Mohammed Nurul Hasan, Mohammed Munsur Ali and Mohammed Rafikul Islam allegedly conspired with each other and “persons known and unknown to the grand jury to steal the 2021 general election for Mayor of Millbourne” for Hasan by using the state’s online voter registration portal to “change the voter registration addresses” for non-Millbourne residents to “locations within Millbourne,” according to a grand jury indictment.
The defendants then allegedly used the portal to request mail-in ballots for the non-Millbourne residents, illegally filled the ballots out on their behalf, and submitted the ballots to the county board of elections. The voters were allegedly informed by Hasan and Ali that “they would not get in trouble as long as they did not vote in another election in November 2021,” according to the indictment.
Hasan ultimately lost the election 165 to 138, according to the indictment.
So how was it done? Hasan, Ali and Islam simply used the state’s online voter registration (PAOVR) website.
At the time of the May 18, 2021 primary, there were “approximately 549 registered voters in Millbourne,” according to the indictment. Less than six months later, by the time the general election was held, there were 578 registered voters. According to the indictment, “most of the additional registered voters were people who did not live in Millbourne and had previously been registered to vote in locations outside of Millbourne, but whose voter registration addresses had been changed to Millbourne addresses by someone accessing the PAOVR website.”
“Any person who accessed the PAOVR website could either submit a new voter registration application or edit an existing voter’s registration information as long as the person knew certain personal identification information about the voter,” the indictment states. “A person who provided such information about a voter on the PAOVR website could change the voter’s name, address, and/or party affiliation, and/or request a mail-in or absentee ballot.”
“If the person accessing the PAOVR website requested a mail-in or absentee ballot for the voter, such a person could ask for the ballot to be mailed to any address in the world,” according to the indictment.
Hasan, Ali, and Islam were each charged with conspiracy, false information in registering, and fraudulent voter registration.
Despite claims of robust “safeguards,” the reality is that the system allowed three individuals to exploit its weaknesses and engage in fraudulent activity, undermining the integrity of the 2021 mayoral election. The fact that such manipulation was even possible raises serious concerns about the state’s online voting infrastructure and underscores the dangers of mass mail-in balloting.

I asked the questions that you all recommended, but found the entire sequence not clear cut at all, no one could tell me the anesthesiologist’s name until I met him while being wheeled into the OR. And the surgeon had an assistant surgeon, when I asked directly the only response I ever got was “Assisting”. So, not sure what that means.It is a very compartmentalized business.
