It’s “their” very favorite playbook. They want to some how, some way, create another narrative that makes everything related to president, Donald J. Trump, into a “National Security Crisis!”
Well, do you know what a real national security crisis looks like? It looks like the election systems in all 50 states having a total loss of control.
“We identified, inside of the state’s official records about the 2022 and the 2020 elections, millions and millions of examples of what appear to be felony misconduct, according to the United States Department of Justice’s guidelines for prosecution of election offenses.” — Marly Hornick, in this interview
While we may need an Executive Order to act as a stop-gap for the 2026 Elections–which are nearly on top of us at this point–the real work of securing our elections must be done at the state level. And it appears state officials will only be motivated when they see that Federal prosecutions could be in their near future.
I very much appreciate that the E.O. deals with an issue found in some voting systems. A human readable ballot and a true paper trail are essential for a secure elections system.
“Above all, elections much be honest and worthy of the public trust. That requires voting methods that produce a voter-verifiable paper record allowing voters to efficiently check their votes to protect against fraud or mistake. Election-integrity standards much be modified accordingly.”
“… voting systems should not use a ballot in which a vote is contained within a barcode or quick-response code in the vote counting process … [with an exception for accommodating disabilities] … and should provide a voter-verifiable paper record to prevent fraud or mistake.”
The “follow the money” types amongst us are likely to be happy to see the E.O. provide direction for an audit of all Help America Vote Act (HAVA) fund expenditures.
“Following an audit of Help America Vote Act fund expenditures conducted pursuant to 52 U.S.C. 21142, the Election Assistance Commission shall report any discrepancies or issues with an audited State’s certifications of compliance with Federal law to the Department of Justice for appropriate enforcement action.”
And for those of us who were concerned with the word “voluntary” in the Election Assistance Commission’s guidelines, it looks like there might be some teeth in the E.O. here:
“The Secretary of Homeland Security and the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, consistent with applicable law, shall in considering the provision of funding for State or local election offices or administrators through the Homeland Security Grant Programs, 6 U.S.C. 603 et seq., heavily prioritize compliance with the Voluntary Voting System Guidelines 2.0 developed by the Election Assistance Commission and completion of testing through the Voting System Test Labs accreditation process.”
That’s really all nice and everything, but is this going to be another here-today-gone-tomorrow news event? Well, rescinding all previous certifications of voting equipment based on prior standards sounds good.
“Within 180 days of the date of this order, the Election Assistance Commission shall take appropriate action to review and, if appropriate, re-certify voting systems under the new standards established under subsection (b)(i) of this section, and to rescind all previous certifications of voting equipment based on prior standards.”
There are also important sections on not counting votes cast after election day (duh!), validating that voters are citizens, preventing foreign interference and prosecuting election crimes.
The section on improving the security of voting systems reminds us that election infrastructure is designated as “Critical Infrastructure.” Note that non-citizens are not to be involved in the administration of any Federal Election. I wonder how many voting system contractors that you see at the local elections office are non-citizens. Do they even check?
The E.O. goes on to task Homeland Security with assessing the security of electronic elections systems and report on what they find. I suspect this doesn’t go far enough. If there are non-electronic procedures that are not subject to review for Federal Elections that allow for fraud, that should be addressed to. Maybe it’s in existing law and I missed it.
“Sec. 6. Improving Security of Voting Systems. To improve the security of all voting equipment and systems used to cast ballots, tabulate votes, and report results:
“(a) The Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security shall take all appropriate actions to the extent permitted by 42 U.S.C. 5195c and all other applicable law, so long as the Department of Homeland Security maintains the designation of election infrastructure as critical infrastructure, as defined by 42 U.S.C. 5195c(e), to prevent all non-citizens from being involved in the administration of any Federal election, including by accessing election equipment, ballots, or any other relevant materials used in the conduct of any Federal election.
“(b) The Secretary of Homeland Security shall, in coordination with the Election Assistance Commission and to the maximum extent possible, review and report on the security of all electronic systems used in the voter registration and voting process. The Secretary of Homeland Security, as the head of the designated Sector Risk Management Agency under 6 U.S.C. 652a, in coordination with the Election Assistance Commission, shall assess the security of all such systems to the extent they are connected to, or integrated into, the Internet and report on the risk of such systems being compromised through malicious software and unauthorized intrusions into the system.”

The right of American citizens to have their votes properly counted and tabulated, without illegal dilution, is vital to determining the rightful winner of an election. Under the Constitution, State governments must safeguard American elections in compliance with Federal laws that protect Americans’ voting rights and guard against dilution by illegal voting, discrimination, fraud, and other forms of malfeasance and error.

The issue is that once it’s published the URL will continue to contain the (placeholder) title, even after editing the title inside the post. One of the illuminating experiences I have had is going through a Home Depot in North Carolina. You go past gas landscaping devices, all marked, “Not For Sale in California”. You browse the paint aisle, including clean-up, and see “Not For Sale in California”. You go through plumbing and heating, and you see “Not For Sale in California” again and again…..it dawns on you that maybe 10% of the store is “Not For Sale in California.”
And you think, what use is the Commerce Clause if it produces abominations like Wickard v. Filburn and doesn’t even blink when California bans ordinary items from other states?
And that’s before you get to California SECS banning eggs from out-of-state, or the ban on foie gras, or custom California gasoline blends.

Thus, you can see a brand with 20 models might have one for sale in California with the rest marked “Not For Sale in California” at the factory.

Medicines cause B12 deficiency even in meat eaters. Proton pump inhibitors are the meds particularly known to me. My dad was on omprazole and others for years, ended up requiring B12 shots regularly, his docs were morons.

How about griping about Paracetamol for a change?
My crew was doing auditing in the UK (without me). They were staying at this charming old hotel where they’d installed “en suite” bathroom units to already existing rooms, so you had to step up into the unit, then step up-and-over into the tub for a shower.
One of “my guys”, a gal, slipped. She went in to the client to continue her auditing, but was convinced to go the NHS because she was clearly injured and suffering. After an hour or two, the NHS sent her off with Paracetamol 600s.
As you might imagine, I nearly blew a gasket once I was awake.
Paracetamol is acetaminophen. One of those 600s was a dangerous dose, two with a drink might hospitalize you in a civilized country, and three could be fatal.
Paracetamol/acetaminophen/Tylenol is extremely dangerous.
I should also note that my guy on the scene had about half my body mass, meaning that the dosage was that much more hazardous.
Acetaminophen could be a useful tool in a toolbox, but not when it’s handed out like candy.
I know: that’s what they call it over here (and why I suggested it)… it’s still the same crap, and still dangerous as all hell, especially to the liver… and it’s often a component of “combi-meds”…
My new doctor last year told me that if I have knee pain not to take Aspirin instead to take Tylenol. I seldom take Aspirin then only one if I have too. Tylenol is not good. I knew two women who took every evening before bed nigh time Tylenol and a beer. We took a trip and shared a room I was concerned they would not awake in the morning. I am paranoid when it comes to meds

Aspirin is at least “natural” in that the original source has been a folk remedy for millenia… Ibuprofin is somewhat related, although synthetic, but is said to be potentially hard on the kidneys… anymore, I don’t know if that’s fear-porn coming from the Tylenol camp, or if there’s any truth in that.
Sad thing is, with Big Pharma/Big Chem/Big Ag/etc., no-one knows what the truth is anymore….

I remember you warning about Tylenol before! Tylenol and oxycoden were prescribed me after my surgery. I asked for advil instead of those two and got pushback, but I remembered enough of what you said (the poison is in the dose) that they took me seriously and added advil to my discharge instructions instead of Tylenol.
Once home, the only thing that helped was the hot green tea that Mr. Happy kept supplied to me.

I was taught in Germany when one is pregnant not to even drink coffee. My baby came first to any discomfort I ignored ate vitamins and a good diet. My Dr wanted to put me on diet pills because I gained 10lb the first 4 months.
After 3- 4 months after baby I was as much as before having one. Sadly modern Dr know not much I loved the old Dr who were wise had common sense no meds
And now they recommend the clot shot for pregnant and nursing women, even after all the evidence is out that the clot shot not only doesn’t prevent COVID (or anything else), it’s incredibly dangerous….

Okay, I have to share… my mom had German Measles while pregnant with me. Poor momma. I’m told my older brother brought it home from school.
I was born healthy with all my fingers and toes. I believe my birth weight was “she’s a chunk” at 9 or 10 lbs. I’m a quarter inch shy of 6 feet, was always a head taller than my classmates (probably mentioned this before), and have not had any health challenges.
I had all the childhood diseases at the same time while my mom was having gall bladder surgery. My sweet aunt Melba took care of me then.
Mom grew our veggies in her big garden and canned a lot. We had a freezer and I remember she would freeze some corn on the cob and meat. I braided the corn silks but it didn’t harm the corn. Mom had me snap green beans that she would bring inside in a large empty kitchen wastebasket. Aha… she must have been keeping me away from her corn.
She fixed great meals and always had enough in case someone stopped by.

Q UPDATE
Sally is needing pain meds every 5 hours now to keep the pain away and I’m using an alarm clock to be sure I don’t oversleep and let her get into severe pain. She’s having periodic episodes of disorientation, good days and bad days. The nurse said to expect hallucinations to increase and they have meds for that. She doesn’t have any appetite – or express any real enjoyment of food. She’s drinking and eating less – sometimes doesn’t want to eat, so we give her a Splenda or Boost to keep her blood glucose levels steady. She rarely requests a particular food from the cafeteria. This is also normal for cancer patients.
The hospice nurse came yesterday and we discussed when to switch to a hospital bed, and to change to a sling for her ceiling track lift. We have a really good nurse now.
My main prayer is that Sally return to faith and to the comfort of knowing GOD’s peace and love for her…in these last weeks and days. We are having a hard time finding pastoral care. The pastor who was going to come, was so good with Sally, but he is going to have surgery and his wife who was also going to come minister to Sally, will be tied up looking after him. I know the Lord is in control…and whoever is supposed to come, will be the right one.

2/ As Judge Walker properly notes, APA ONLY provides for review when “no other adequate remedy in a court,” and here as Plaintiffs admitted, they could have sued in habeas. SO, bottom line is Plaintiffs aren’t likely to prevail on APA claims.
3/ Judge Henderson completely ignore that problem, and instead, again, presumed such a claim. Why? My gut is because she a) questioned whether Alien Enemies Act applies to tDa and b) because she saw the harm as soooo irreparable.
4/ But what about other legal claims? Well several deal with immigration issues and case law is clear that you can’t go to a federal district court FIRST and when you do it’s habeas. What about “due process” and “ultra vires”? Well, those also “sound” in habeas & Henderson
5/5 never addressed if you could sue for such claims. At this point, Trump Administration should file a Motion to Dismiss the claims and turn the table on Plaintiffs.
6/ Also, given the 1-1-1 decision and Judge Henderson’s (misplaced) assumption re the APA claims being valid and that the order really doesn’t have much direct impact currently, I don’t think Trump Administration seeks to appeal now but instead files Motion to Dismiss arguing
7/ Plaintiffs cannot state a claim for various violations: APA claims fail because alternative remedy; various immigration claims fail because they need to seek withholding of removal/asylum from INS & then habeas; due process fails b/c due process available through habeas/
8/8 and because it sounds in habeas; ultra vires fails because no common law ultra vires where you can bring habeas. Bottom line all claims but habeas fail and dismissal required. If court denies then Trump could seek to appeal interlocutorily along with PI.

The National Diversity Council filed for bankruptcy on March 17 after its board said in a lawsuit that its founder R. Dennis Kennedy “improperly paid himself millions of dollars from NDC’s donor funds.” The suit said Kennedy “paid himself a grossly excessive salary” while using the nonprofit as a front for his for-profit diversity consulting business called Diversity & Leadership Inc (D&L).
The group’s 2020 IRS disclosure said Kennedy was paid $450,000 for 10 hours of work per week. In 2022, at the height of corporations’ DEI hype, Kennedy, chief executive officer Ángeles Valenciano, and chief financial officer Jason deGroot also “unilaterally decided that they were owed almost $3 million in ‘back pay,’ and then paid themselves more than $1 million of donor funds,” the lawsuit said.
As board members became suspicious and determined that there was no basis for the payments, Kennedy systematically moved the nonprofit’s trademarks and web domains into his own name, and essentially created a fake organization with the same name that would trick people into paying him directly, the suit indicated.
“Kennedy, Valenciano, and deGroot conspired to protect their scheme and ill-gotten gains by attempting to destroy NDC and move its resources and partnerships to another organization where they could continue exploiting donors’ funds and the organization’s resources with minimal oversight,” it said.

Current Report –
I’ve just been moved from the Federal Medical Center, Las Vegas to Mountain View Hospital. Mountain View has a larger Heart Surgery Facility, more support equipment, multiple experienced coronary surgery teams, and a dedicated Cardiac ICU.
There are two large arteries, the left coronary artery and the right coronary artery, that are responsible for delivering oxygen-rich blood to the heart. My coronary angiogram on Monday showed that the left artery was 100% blocked and the right artery 90-95% blocked. So, the fix is open heart surgery, probably involving four coronary artery bypass grafts to where each of the two coronary arteries splits into lesser arteries. I’ll know more tomorrow after I speak with the surgeon.
Looks like Friday will be the day.

It’s coincidence, I tells ya!
Just talked with Dr. Jahangir. I’m on for about 11am or so tomorrow. 4 – 5 hour operation. They use some grafts from my leg for 3 coronary artery grafts. After the operation, 3 – 4 more hours asleep hooked up to the ventilator. Wake up, ventilator removed, all done at about 9pm or so . . . well, except for just a bit of recovery time.
Knew a guy once who had them go into his blood vessel in his leg and snake the tool all the way up to the problem. He said the leg wound hurt for over a month.
My husband had this procedure and never complained. The leg was bruised and looked black and blue

Plan on waking up Saturday afternoon in a darkened room, smelling of whiskey, with lipstick on the sleeves of your hospital gown.
