2025.04.01 Daily Thread – American Stories: When in the Course of human events – Part 12

April Fools (Day)!

Instead of trying to pull one off, I thought I would just bring examples.

There they are, the dynamic duo of foolish Destructocrats. The poster children for April Fools everywhere.

Before we get started, please remember Wolf’s rules for our community. https://wqth.wordpress.com/2019/01/01/dear-maga-open-topic-20190101/

In general that means to be respectful to each other and to pull no shenanigans that your mom might find offensive or otherwise cause jail time. That said, free speech is honored here.

___________________________________________

For those who are unaware, the American Stories you will read in this series are about the period around the signing of our great Declaration of Independence. It is pure coincidence that POTUS Trump recently unveiled same on the wall in the Oval Office, the series started months before that event. Of course I had no advance notice, just a mutually shared respect for our nation’s history and perhaps its greatest founding document.

My focus is on providing summary information about the signers, founding fathers, major events and observations of conditions on the ground. I do not provide a complete list of sources, this is not a biographical/documentary type work. However, nearly everything I provide in summary form is taken from sources openly accessed from the web. Sometimes the information is conflicted, so I use my judgment based on the reliability of the sources and government information if available. For example, some founder birthdates and number of children in families are frequently different in utilized sources. As a result I may pick the one that is in general consensus or state the discrepancies.

Occasionally I provide links to sources to provide a basis for that part of the story. I also consistently utilize one excellent publication that is from The Sun newspaper of Conway, SC that was published as an Independence Day supplement over 30 years ago. It provides short summary biographical information on each signer.

My goal is to not only inform the readers of these great patriots who risked everything for the good of all Americans past, present and future; it is also to draw comparisons, parallels and interconnections with patriots and the state of America today. I want readers to see the signers were real people with human desires and personal issues like all of us. None had it easy, including the wealthy and privileged. All chose the hard road when it became time. All suffered worldly loss in some form. None expressed regret for having done so.

From these comparisons I hope you will see the hand of God that has protected and led our progress as a nation. Our founders did and expressed it repeatedly in the founding and their personal documents as well as evidenced by their words and lives. It is this writer’s opinion that we should go and do likewise.

Now on to today’s story.

Do we go there right off the bat? Oh. what the heck, why not? It is April Fools Day.

I really do not want to cast dispersions or offend any reader with this discussion. It is just a fact we have not yet addressed the 800 pound gorilla in the room. I promise not to digress and go deep into the beliefs, practices and perceived impacts of this organization worldwide over thousands of years. What was true for its members in the beginning would bear very little resemblance to how it is today. For this series we just need to acknowledge its presence and observe what may have been its effect on America during the Revolutionary War period of this series. Of course, I am talking about freemasonry.

To set the stage, remember that both Britain and the colonies were populated with large segments of members, just more so in Britain. That presented a major problem as Britain was executing their plans to rule the world while losing their shirts financially. To understand the history of the organization better as well as the history around the war period from the freemason (Masons) perspective we will go straight to the gorilla’s mouth. Please read the short summary link below.

Did you notice that France’s Marquis de Lafayette, who was a major ally to the colonists was also a Mason? Most have read or heard that George Washington was one from reports (especially Masonic reports), but did you know that according to the organization’s representations, many of his Generals may have been intentionally selected by him because they were Masons? How about John Paul Jones who directed the naval activities? Yes, the same one who replaced his boss, Esek Hopkins, the brother of Declaration signing patriot Stephen Hopkins. The same Jones who used similar defensive naval maneuvers successfully that Esek developed, over which Esek was criticized and had his command taken.

There were about a hundred social lodges and also fifty or so Mason affiliated military lodges in the colonies at the time of the war. We would probably know the latter as party bars and indoctrination centers for current and future Masons, many of whom went on to serve in the Colonial Army. The following is an interesting history of them per a lodge. Take it with a grain of salt as they even state they have no actual record of their “history” in a similar manner as the previously linked article.

Let’s take a closer look at the brags of the Masons in that first link above. What about that statement of Washington trusting fellow Masons for his Generals and that nearly all of them were Masons. If true (it isn’t), what were the actual results of those represented in the article? Warren, Wooster, Herkimer, Mercer – dead in the first year of hostilities. Whipple and Hancock – active, but much of their time, especially with Hancock, was spent in Congress and with other activities. We also have Hancock’s dubious, I am too-sick-to-hold-office period that coincided with Shay’s Rebellion. Interesting that he returned to the governor’s role after the worst of the period was over, so that he could claim the reconciler role.

Of them all, Whipple seems to have served with distinction on the battlefield in the northern campaigns. Muhlenberg – served with Washington in major battles, but the Masons really do not know much about him and his connections to them. We know his connections to Lafayette and German factions were beneficial to the colonists. He primarily led VA militia in the southern regions. Girard – have no idea how or why he was even listed. He was a merchant with a dubious personal life who had precious little to do with the war effort and nothing noted in his historical accounts other than shipping into ports that were blockaded at times. If it were not profitable for him to do so I doubt he would based on his personal life. He did not even become a Mason until well after the war in 1788. In my opinion it is a bit of a stretch to include him.

They had a major dilemma to work through. What was a British Mason in the military in America supposed to do in opposition to a Colonist Mason in the military if they were supposed to be “brothers” and not opposed to the government? Good question with no clear answers. Britain had a very large segment of Masons. America had its share and some of them were loyalists to the Crown as you can imagine. Below is a discreet paper discussing the issue from a California Masonic lodge.

https://www.goldenstatechapter.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/FREEMASONYANDTHEAMERICANREVOLUTION.pdf

As this text is copy protected – I will just summarize their response to the issue. Since Masons are to be “a peaceable subject to the Civil Powers” and to “never be concern’d in plots and conspiracies against the peace and welfare of the nation”; they are in a bit of a pickle with this one. What happens if Masons who are in power are the non-peaceable oppressors of fellow Masons who are citizens under the same King and Parliament? What happens if Masons in power and in the British military take actions against Colonists and fellow Masons in direct conflict with existing legal documents and treaties between the parties?

In this case and in reality, they killed and injured each other anyway. If you are British Masons you also burn down the homes and imprison your “brothers” in dungeons and prison ships where they starve and die of diseases while terrorizing their families and communities. Quite the brotherhood. Their words seem to want to disassociate their actual activities in the world from what the organization says they do. I can almost hear “It’s nothing personal, just doing my job.”

So lets go back to American icon Gen. George Washington. See the link below.

https://crossexamined.org/george-washington-christian-freemason

As we know you can be a Christian, which the vast majority of our founders were, and be a Mason as well. They are not mutually exclusive unless you choose for them to be. However, to be a Christian you must check your allegiance to freemasonry at the door when in conflict with the teachings of Christ and the Word. One master – not two – is required to be a Christian. If this article’s representation is correct and I found other sources that substantiate many of their claims, Washington attended a grand total of four Mason meetings his entire life per their own organization’s records that have been shared. That meant he was just a social type member during the rare times he was involved, probably a 3rd degree or less. Yet, records of Christ’s Church in Alexandria, VA, his home church, show he was very active there. In fact, there was a Washington family box of seats and his adopted daughter, Nelly, stated he rarely missed a Sunday despite it being 2-3 hours travel time from his home. In fact, his church attendance happened wherever he was even during the war per records and statements of men who were there. His men heard him reference God and Christ to them in encampment and there are quotes from them in the records. The linked article then provides the following,

And if he did not believe in Jesus Christ, how then would skeptics be able to define the following statement from George Washington’s prayer journal, “O eternal and everlasting God…Increase my faith in the gospels…daily frame me more and more into the likeness of thy son Jesus Christ, that living in thy fear, and dying in thy favor, I may in thy appointed time attain the resurrection of the just unto eternal life.”

There were several portraits made of him in Masonic garb, but he actually sat for none and he was reported to having stated that one was “mason propaganda”.

I think we can probably shut down the Masonic exaggerations and misinformation at this stage, but let’s take one more step to refute their self promoted value and that Washington made it nearly a requirement to be a Mason to be a General. Who were the other Generals under Washington’s command that were not freemasons? We have previously addressed the good and bad exploits of one in Gen. Horatio Gates (and will again). How about many of those listed in the following link?

https://www.mountvernon.org/george-washington/the-revolutionary-war/washingtons-officers

The link is direct from a Washington archivist’s information. There were other Generals not listed in either link as well.

To summarize, George Washington was obviously Christian first and foremost from his own words, actions, documents and reports from those in his association. There is the direct derogatory quote from the man himself about the Masonic portrait. He is recorded as having only attended four Masonic meetings in thirty years of reported membership. There were many more prominent military leaders and generals who were not Masons that were selected by him to serve in command of troops beyond what is represented by the Mason organization. Better yet, most of them were not killed in battle like so many of the Masons.

This case is closed.

There is no doubt that members of the Masons contributed greatly to the war effort just like non-Masons. We remain very grateful for their contributions and service. But to claim the high ground and associations they do even today is disingenuous and false. Once again we see that the truth will set us free.

Let’s finish this part with the two remaining Connecticut signers.

Samuel Huntington

I like to refer to Samuel Huntington as the Steady Eddie of the signers and our early government. That description honors him, he served our young nation so well. His story that follows explains why.

Huntington was born in 1731 in the town of Scotland in Windham County, Connecticut to parents, Nathaniel and Mehetable Huntington. He and his family were of the Congregationalist Christian faith. His father was a farmer and clothier, who built his home in the town in 1732 that still stands. The predecessors in his family had immigrated there in the mid-1630’s. Samuel was educated some in local common schools, but for the most part was self educated. He apprenticed as a cooper (barrel, cask, vat, etc. maker) at age 16 while continuing to work on the family farm. He borrowed books to study in history, Latin, and the law, from the library of a local minister as well as attorneys. He was admitted to the bar at age 23 and opened a practice in Norwich, CT. He married Mary Devotion in 1761 at age 29, who was the daughter of his minister, Rev. Ebenezer and Martha Lothrop. She was 21 years old. Her family had fled persecution and immigrated from France and England in the mid 1600’s.

Huntington was first elected as a representative to the Connecticut Assembly in 1764 where he was reelected to serve for ten years. During the period he was also named as the King’s Attorney by the Royal Government until he was named a Justices of the Superior Court. This led to him being Chief Justice in 1778. As the struggles with Britain worsened he became a vocal critic of the Coercive Acts of Parliament. The members of the CT Assembly elected him to be a delegate to the Second Continental Congress. When it came time to vote on the Declaration, he approved and signed the document without hesitation. He continued to serve in the Congress in committees during the war as well as back in the CT Assembly. When John Jay was named as a minister to Spain, Huntington stepped into his role as President of the Congress in 1779. He was instrumental in the passage of the Articles of Confederation as he assuaged the fears of the states who struggled with the decision since he was a Federalist. In his letter to each state he said the following, “By the Act of Congress herewith enclosed your Excellency will be informed that the Articles of Confederation & perpetual Union between the thirteen United States are formally & finally ratified by all the states. We are happy to congratulate our Constituents on this important Event, desired by our Friends but dreaded by our Enemies.

Oh yeah, the quiet message of strength that remains in America today.

Huntington remained in the President of the Congress position until his health took a turn for the worse and he returned to CT in 1781. A few months later Cornwallis surrendered to American and French forces at Yorktown, which signaled the end of the war. Per the Descendants website, he wrote to Chevalier de la Luzerne, the Minister Plenipotentiary of France, giving full recognition to the French contribution toward the American success: “I cannot deny myself the pleasure of congratulating you Sir on the important & Glorious Success of our Combined Forces on the complete Capture of Lord Cornwallis and all his Army. The conduct of the Comte de Grasse so far as it hath come to my knowledge charms me: his drubbing the British fleet Sufficient to teach them to stay at due distance not again attempt to Interrupt the Siege & main object. May our Successes this Campaign be in proportion to the Generous and unparallel Aids received from his most Christian majesty and prove Eventually productive of the Happiest Consequences to the perpetual advantage of both nations.”

In 1785 he was selected as Lt. Governor of CT. The following year he was elected Governor. He dealt with many issues including selecting the permanent site for the state house in Hartford. He presided over the negotiations for approval of the U. S. Constitution in 1788. He served as Governor of the state to the day he died in 1796, two years after the death of his wife, Dorothy. The couple had no children of their own, but had adopted Samuel’s nephew and niece , Samuel, Jr. and Frances, when his brother had died. As an adult Samuel, Jr. moved to the Ohio territory and was instrumental in the future state’s development. He went on to serve as the third Governor of that state.

Samuel Huntington was a solid Christian human being. The Descendants website described him best in my opinion,  “Huntington was always supportive of encouraging the states to fully comply with levies for men, supplies and money. Not an alarmist, nor a defeatist, Huntington was a steady, faithful, calm patriot, well respected and admired by his colleagues. His steady hand helped keep the Congress together as the infant nation faced military reverses in the field, following the euphoria of the surrender of the British Army under General Burgoyne at Saratoga on October 17, 1777.”

Samuel Huntington was the leadership glue that helped hold the independence movement focused and together. He was a great American Patriot.

Oliver Wolcott

We have another signer who did so much it all cannot be covered in detail in a summary series such as this. Oliver Wolcott was born in 1726 in Windsor, CT. He was the youngest of 10 to 15 children (depending on sources) of Royal Governor Roger Wolcott and mother, Sarah Drake Wolcott. The family was of the Puritan faith. Not much is known or stated about Oliver’s early years. However, he entered Yale and graduated at the top of his class in 1747. He immediately received a Captain’s commission in the NY militia by Governor Clinton. He went on to serve in the Seven Years War. When he returned he chose to move to Litchfield, CT to study medicine under his uncle. However, his career plans changed as he settled on property his father owned. He became a successful merchant and was appointed the county sheriff at age 25. He was popular and developed an interest in politics, which saw him elected to the General Assembly in both houses. This led to him being appointed as a judge.

He married Laura Collins in 1755 who was from Guilford, CT and they had five children together. She was from an established respected family of Captain Daniel and Lois Collins. Their common beliefs and relationship are best represented by letters to her from Oliver. One such letter from Philadelphia in 1776 said, “MY DEAR–I feel much concerned for the Burden which necessarily devolves upon you. I hope you will make it as light as possible…. You may easily believe that the situation of publick Affairs is such that the critical Moment is near which will perhaps decide the Fate of the Country; and that the business of Congress is very interesting. Yet if any excuse can reasonably be allowed for my returning, I shall think myself justified in doing so. The circumstances of my affairs demand it.”

From geni.com, “The patriotism of Laura Wolcott was in keeping with that of her husband. Her home was thrown open at all times to those who were in any way aiding the cause. And while Oliver Wolcott gave freely of his money for patriotic purposes, she furnished blankets, stockings, and supplies from their farm for the army, almost continuously.

By 1771 Wolcott was named a Major of the Thirteenth Regiment and Colonel of the Sixth Regiment in 1774. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the independence movement. His business suffered with the unrest, yet, he did not let that stop him as he knew what was coming. He was chosen for the First Continental Congress with service following again in the Second. From connecticuthistory. org comes the following, “Wolcott noted in April 1776 that, “a final separation between the countries I consider as unavoidable.” In the summer of that year, a brief illness and Wolcott’s increasing role in military affairs drew him away from his political responsibilities, resulting in his absence from Congress during the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Despite his absence at that watershed moment, he signed the parchment copy of the Declaration that autumn (and also later signed the Articles of Confederation in the summer of 1778).”

During the time soon after the Declaration was approved and signed he commanded fourteen regiments in the defense of New York City under the direction of Gen. Washington. His forces assisted in the defeat of Gen. Burgoyne and the British troops in the Battles of Saratoga. He was named Major General over all of CT militia afterwards and spent the rest of the war with his men defending the state’s coastal communities.

After the war ended he returned to politics. He was elected Lt. Governor of the state in 1786 and Governor ten years later. He died in office the following year. Unfortunately his beloved Laura did not live long enough to see him as Governor as she passed in 1794. Their son, Oliver Jr., became Secretary of the Treasury under Presidents George Washington and John Adams. He went on to be elected Governor of the state after that.

An incredible servant of the people, Oliver Wolcott was a great American Patriot. So were his wife and oldest son. It was a family tradition.

Conclusion

The nature of this series is to provide summary discussions about each of these patriot founding fathers and their families. I urge readers to research deeper with each and other subjects they have interest in knowing more about from that special time in history. The more we know the history, the better prepared we are for the world in which we live today.

Enjoy your day and be blessed, folks! Go make something good happen.

Thank you for this valuable historical information, TradeBait! I had not seen all of that info about George Washington. I’ve seen a portrait of him in a Masonic apron, but never knew that he didn’t pose for it. That, and all the other details, are very interesting.

House lawmaker moves to oust judge in deportation case with move that skips impeachment

Rep. Andy Biggs invoked the “good behavior” clause of the Constitution to argue Congress has the authority to remove judges short of impeachment…

Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., filed a resolution that would remove U.S. District Judge James Boasberg for “failing to maintain the standard of good behavior required of judges” under Article III, Section 1 of the Constitution.

You can read the resolution below:

File

Resolution Removing Chief Judge Boasberg.pdf

“Most Americans believe that there is lifetime tenure for a federal judge. That unless impeached, a federal judge can serve until death,” Biggs told Just the News. “But lifetime tenure is not guaranteed, nor mentioned, in the Constitution. Article III, Section 1 permits a federal judge to serve only ‘during good behavior.’”

Biggs argued the clause gives Congress the authority to remove judges that it believes have failed to uphold that standard short of using impeachment.

Boasberg, who serves on the federal bench in Washington D.C., blocked the Trump administration from using the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport illegal immigrants, who were alleged members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. He also ordered government planes en route to El Salvador and carrying the alleged gang members to return to the United States.

Boasberg is only one of several federal judges that have blocked administration policy, ranging from firings of bureaucrats, shuttering of agencies, and attempts to abolish birthright citizenship….

Excellent!

These 90 law professors and their counter parts in other schools are the reason why the judicial system has become an impedance to freedom and the rule of law.
They teach LAWFARE and not Rule of Just Law, to undermine the constitution.
That’s why so many law graduates turn into activist lawyers and judges.

And silent during Biden’s bribery and dementia, Hunter Biden’s scams and scandals,

And silent all the law-fare and faux impeachments foisted against President Trump.

And silent while activist biased judges usurp authority to stop the restoration of law and order and the anti-corruption actions of President Trump.

As long as Trump and MAGA stay in power these things will be written about and become the legacy of these cruelly malicious villains so all the world can see their creepy greedy past deeds.

King Unas circa 2300BC was the first to say “He wrote with the big finger”.
Now it’s Trump writing with the big finger and it’s a joy to see.

Trump Establishes New Office to Oversee CHIPS Act and Accelerate Investments

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday creating the United States Investment Accelerator, a new office within the Commerce Department aimed at streamlining the implementation of the CHIPS Act and expediting major corporate investments in the United States.

The office will oversee $52.7 billion in subsidies made available by the 2022 CHIPS and Science Act for semiconductor manufacturing and production.

According to a White House fact sheet, the Investment Accelerator will be responsible for “negotiating much better CHIPS Act deals than the previous Administration.” Specific details were not provided.

Trump previously criticized the bipartisan CHIPS Act, which was signed into law by President Joe Biden in August 2022. Earlier this month, Trump suggested that U.S. lawmakers should eliminate the program and use the funds to pay down national debt.

Beyond overseeing the CHIPS Act, the Investment Accelerator will have a broader mandate to facilitate large-scale investments in the United States. The executive order directs the office to assist investors navigating government regulatory processes, speed up permitting where legally possible, and increase access to national resources.

“The United States is the most powerful economy in the world, but slow, complex, and burdensome American regulatory processes at every stage of a company’s development and operation make significant domestic and foreign investment harder than necessary,” the executive order states.

The Investment Accelerator will help “cut through red tape” and allow businesses to quickly use capital and create jobs, without first needing to navigate through a “maze of bureaucratic hurdles.”

FBI raids home of prominent computer scientist who has gone incommunicado

A prominent computer scientist who has spent 20 years publishing academic papers on cryptography, privacy, and cybersecurity has gone incommunicado, had his professor profile, email account, and phone number removed by his employer, Indiana University, and had his homes raided by the FBI. No one knows why.

Xiaofeng Wang has a long list of prestigious titles. He was the associate dean for research at Indiana University’s Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering, a fellow at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and a tenured professor at Indiana University at Bloomington. According to his employer, he has served as principal investigator on research projects totaling nearly $23 million over his 21 years there.

He has also co-authored scores of academic papers on a diverse range of research fields, including cryptography, systems security, and data privacy, including the protection of human genomic data. I have personally spoken to him on three occasions for articles herehere, and here.

“None of this is in any way normal”

In recent weeks, Wang’s email account, phone number, and profile page at the Luddy School were quietly erased by his employer. Over the same time, Indiana University also removed a profile for his wife, Nianli Ma, who was listed as a Lead Systems Analyst and Programmer at the university’s Library Technologies division.

As reported by the Bloomingtonian and later the Herald-Times in Bloomington, a small fleet of unmarked cars driven by government agents descended on the Bloomington home of Wang and Ma on Friday. They spent most of the day going in and out of the house and occasionally transferred boxes from their vehicles. TV station WTHR, meanwhile, reported that a second home owned by Wang and Ma and located in Carmel, Indiana, was also searched. The station said that both a resident and an attorney for the resident were on scene during at least part of the search.

…The FBI spokeswoman didn’t answer questions seeking which US district court issued the warrant and when, and whether either Wang or Ma is being detained by authorities. Justice Department representatives didn’t return an email seeking the same information. An email sent to a personal email address belonging to Wang went unanswered at the time this post went live. Their resident status (e.g. US citizens or green card holders) is currently unknown.

…WTHR provided the following details about the raid on the Carmel home:

“Neighbors say the agents announced “FBI, come out!” over a megaphone.

“A woman came out of the house holding a phone. A video from a neighbor shows an agent taking that phone from her. She was then questioned in the driveway before agents began searching the home, collecting evidence and taking photos…

“Investigators were at the house for about four hours before leaving with several boxes of evidence. 13News rang the doorbell when the agents were gone. A lawyer representing the family who answered the door told us they’re not sure yet what the investigation is about.”

Long term Chyneze infiltrators?

Wolf Moon

Chyneez infiltration is something I have watched for a long time. I used to think that it started in the 70s, when they sent in their first Mao-jacket, stony silent observers as students, but IMO they were already working on America the moment they took control in China. They were so good at “taking over without showing a Chinese face”, that they decided to keep doing that for a very long time.

Didn’t Sundance have something to say about Panda mask to hide Dragon face?

Grifterism: The Economic Engine of Democrats

Democrats run an economy of ‘Grifterism,’ where Billionaires, Productives, and Dependents fuel a system designed to keep the ruling class in power while stifling real economic freedom.

By Cynical Publius
March 31, 2025

Entire article excellent.
Final paragraph motivates me. I need to show my support better.

Grifterism exists by, for, and because of the Grifters. The Grifter class allows the Billionaires, the Productives, and the Dependents to exist, but only so long as they provide the resources necessary for the Grifters to thrive. Understanding this system—and the fact that the system is almost exclusively the province of Democrats—perfectly explains why Elon Musk and DOGE are treated as existential threats by Democrats. That is because Elon Musk and DOGE are, in fact, existential threats to Democrats. If Grifterism unravels, so do the lifestyle, beliefs, and lifelong motivations of most Democrats. Democrats treat DOGE as a life-or-death matter. Patriotic Americans should do the same. Unraveling Grifterism is the essential act in making America great again, and vocal, robust support for DOGE is a task all patriotic Americans should embrace. Grifterism must end if we are ever to be truly free, and if we are ever to have small, non-intrusive government and genuine economic opportunity, Grifterism must be extinguished as the metastasizing cancer that it is.

All the spouse needs to do is post a comment on this site from ANY name and email address – preferably their own. The comment will not be seen by the public (unless they do it from your name and account, of course, in which case it WOULD show up). It will automatically go into moderation, and I will see it. I can verify authenticity and go from there, editing the comment for public suitability.

Communication will then be public, on the site.

If people want to be super-safe, they can include the PMTW (separated with underscores) phrase in the comment.

PRIVATE MESSAGE TO WOLF

(on its own line with underscores)

In that case, they could even do it from your account.

I like the “just post a comment from your own email” approach. It’s guaranteed to go into moderation.

A sealed envelope with “list of things to do if I die first” listing this site and instructions to post a comment is a good plan.

i’ve kept a journal for my son since the day he was born. obviously i didn’t write every day of his life, but in the beginning i did. I have filled one complete book and halfway thru the second. things he’s done, memories, events. i hope he reads it some day.

Valerie Curren

That’s beautiful. I wish I could have done something like that, for all of my kids…

I’ve done some random journaling, though a lot of it was documenting things in the special needs journey in case our special ed due process hearing requests ever went anywhere.

I was in the surgical waiting room (at the time just a grouping of chairs along a major thoroughfare hallway at U of M hospital) while Josiah underwent a liver biopsy (he’d recently been found to have a liver filled w/ masses/tumors AND a brain tumor & they decided to do the biopsies to help them decide which organ needed attention first). It was Christmas Eve Eve.

Anyway I was in the midst of journaling fast & furious, just trying to process Many things, when along the walkway comes the Neuropsychologist who had done multiple bouts of testing with J over the years, a really great guy.

We engaged in conversation for a few minutes & the look on his face when I told him about what was going on with J’s medical situation was flooring. It reminded me that we were really in some pretty uncharted waters, even for a place with major medical cases like at U of M.

A few minutes after that interaction, when I’d only been able to semi shake off the intensity of emotions our conversation generated, I got called back to the post-op room.

I don’t think I’ve ever even looked at that journaling since, as it was in the very intense moment.

I overly crave “closure” compared to some people & there has never been closure on so many of these experiences…oh well…time marches on!

Wolf Moon

WOW. That’s intense just hearing a brief summary!

Valerie Curren

It’s kind of surreal, even attempting to look back on it, like a dark dream sequence that I awoke in the midst of so it hasn’t faded much over the years…

It’s stuff like this that just makes me happy. Landing boosters, on their fins, on a barge for re-use. Sending crewed missions sideways (polar orbit) instead of along the equator where it’s cheaper. Having citizens in space instead of only “The Right Stuff” — much as we revere those who went before.

When I was a kid, I expected this sort of thing in the ’90’s, and would have been horrified that it was delayed for most of my life into the 2020’s. And, yet, I am overjoyed that I get to witness it today. The Soyuz/NASA/ESA oligopoly is well and thoroughly busted.

bwahahahaha
when i was a kid, we lived with my Great Grandmother (Mom was taking care of her). She would give us kids a quarter and we were kings for a day! we’d run to the little grocery store on the corner that had a penny candy counter. Each of us got our own little brown paper bag filled with our selections! And the owner, God bless him, patiently waited on us while we made the tough decisions…lol

Valerie Curren

We did similarly at my grandparents’ Cottage (now my parents’ place). My grandpa had one of those old coin dispensers on top of the fridge, he’d pull it down & click out a few coins for each of us kids to take up to Al’s Market up by the train tracks at the entrance to the little “resort” community.

The store had quite a variety of penny, 2 cents, 5 cents, & up candies. They came home in those little paper bags too–so fun.

I also used to take my earnings after collecting on my paper route to a small drug store about a half mile away from my route & get a variety of candies & sometimes comic books. If just candies they would be in those same small sized paper bags that could be crushed in the hand & held against the handlebars when biking home.

Good, simpler, freer, cheaper times!

This how the propaganda media manipulates opinions on behave of the DemonRats.

A good analysis by Amuse using Trumps third term as an example:

The Media’s Third-Term Obsession: A Case Study in Manufactured Outrage

Donald Trump, once again, is being accused of plotting the downfall of American democracy—not by actions, but by answers to questions no honest broker would ask. Since reclaiming the presidency in the 2024 election, Trump has faced a steady barrage of media inquiries on whether he plans to pursue a third term. It is, as anyone with a passing familiarity with the Constitution knows, an impossibility barring a constitutional amendment. Yet journalists persist. And in persisting, they reveal far more about themselves than about the man they seek to ensnare.

Why do they ask? That is the central question. And to answer it, one must first understand what happens when Trump responds. If he denies interest in a third term outright, the headlines read: “Trump Denies Third-Term Ambitions Amid Growing Concerns.” If he jokes about it, noting that many Americans want him to keep going or that he “likes working,” the stories are no better: “Trump Open to Third Term, Says ‘I’m Not Joking.'” In both scenarios, the outcome is the same—the press manufactures a narrative of creeping authoritarianism, one that they can amplify to audiences primed to distrust the President.

Take, for instance, the NBC interview that aired on March 30, 2025. Kristen Welker asked Trump whether he would seek a third term. A question premised on a falsehood. Trump replied: “There are methods which you could do it,” and added, “A lot of people want me to do it… but… we have a long way to go… it’s very early in the administration.” These remarks were interpreted, widely and breathlessly, as evidence of dictatorial ambitions. ABC News ran the quote verbatim, stripping it of context and framing it under the headline: “Trump Says 3rd Term Isn’t a Joke Despite Term Limit.”

NPR followed suit, reporting that Trump was “repeatedly asked” about his remarks and quoting him: “No, no I’m not joking.” But buried within that same story was Trump’s more sober reflection: “I’m not looking at that, but… I’ve had more people ask me to have a third term.” In other words, a candid acknowledgment of what many supporters are indeed asking him, not a declaration of intent. But the nuance is lost on purpose. The game only works if ambiguity can be painted as threat.

Nor is this the first time Trump has used humor to poke the bear. Throughout both of his previous terms, he’s occasionally made offhand comments about “sticking around longer than two terms,” usually to laughter from supporters and groans from media panels. These remarks were understood by those in the room—and by anyone with an ounce of common sense—as jokes. Yet every time, the same media outlets pounced with headlines speculating about democratic decline.

It is a curious dynamic. Trump makes it clear he has work to do over the next four years. He shrugs off the third-term chatter with a mix of realism and sarcasm. The Constitution, after all, permits only two terms unless amended. The media knows this. They cite the 22nd Amendment freely when discussing the matter. And yet, they continue asking the question.

Why?

The answer is that the question is the point. The goal is not to discover some hidden intention in the President’s mind. The goal is to create the appearance of that intention for public consumption. To conjure, through repetition and suggestion, the specter of authoritarianism. This narrative is then deployed strategically—by Democratic operatives, media pundits, and left-leaning influencers—to erode Trump’s legitimacy and frighten voters.

The strategy is especially potent when aimed at low-information voters. For those who do not follow politics closely, the media’s breathless reporting serves as a stand-in for deeper analysis. They see headlines—not transcripts. They hear soundbites—not constitutional briefings. Thus, when ABC News or The Guardian declares that Trump “refused to say whether he is planning to leave office at end of term,” the implication becomes the story. The truth—namely, that he has no constitutional means to pursue a third term and has offered no serious plan to subvert that—is treated as irrelevant.

Even the Associated Press got in on the act, labeling Trump’s hypothetical musings as an “extraordinary reflection of the desire to maintain power by a president who had violated democratic traditions four years ago.” This is not journalism. It is ideological storytelling. It uses a flimsy premise to construct a threatening caricature.

When Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, responded to the media’s hysteria, she did so plainly: “It’s funny to me that journalists ask the president this question, he gives an honest and candid answer, and then they spiral about his answer.” Her response, however, was ignored by most outlets, or presented as further evasion.

This is a textbook media maneuver. Ask a loaded question. Receive an ambiguous or joking reply. Inflate it. Then treat both the question and the response as damning. When clarification is given, dismiss it as insincere. Rinse and repeat. It is not designed to inform. It is designed to build a file.

The ultimate irony, of course, is that the only constitutional path to a third term would be through an amendment—a process requiring two-thirds of both Houses of Congress and ratification by three-fourths of the states. Such a feat is politically unthinkable. No President, not even one with Trump’s grassroots energy, could unilaterally bring it about. The press knows this. And yet they pretend otherwise.

This charade reveals the deeper pathology at work. The media is no longer interested in informing the public. It is interested in framing reality. And in framing Trump as a threat, they ensure a steady stream of sensational content, partisan clicks, and self-righteous commentary. The question of the third term is not a real question. It is a pretext—engineered to erode public trust in the President while cloaking the press in the garb of democratic vigilance.

But the garb is threadbare. Americans can see through it. They have grown weary of this routine, of the bad-faith provocations disguised as accountability. They remember the Russia hoax. The endless palace-intrigue stories. The anonymous sources that vanished on contact with sunlight. They see this latest narrative for what it is: not a defense of democracy, but a theatrical flourish in a drama the media refuses to stop staging.

Will Trump run for a third term? No. Can he? Not under the current Constitution. Has he ever declared his intent to do so? No. Has he made jokes, comments, and hypothetical acknowledgments that people are asking him to consider it? Yes. Does that make him an authoritarian? Only to those who profit from pretending he is.

The media’s refusal to engage honestly with Trump’s words—and their repeated use of misleading questions to generate contrived controversies—explains why so many Americans no longer trust them. And rightly so. Because at some point, the repetition of a falsehood becomes something worse than bias. It becomes propaganda.

And propaganda, not Trump, is the real threat to American democracy.

Trump Doesn’t Rule Out Possibility Of Becoming Immortal Emperor Of Mankind For Next 10,000 Years

President Trump assuaged fears that he would seek an unconstitutional third term as President by suggesting he may instead become an immortal emperor of mankind for the next 10,000 years.

“I’m not ruling anything out,” Trump said during a phone call interview with NBC News. “A lot of people want me to do it. They want me to become the living embodiment of universal order and rampage across the galaxy in mechanized armor, crushing illegal aliens in my cybernetic grip. But I tell them, you know, it’s very early in the administration. Anything’s possible.”

Though Democrats call his aspirations a constitutional crisis, there is nothing in the constitution saying a president can’t seek a higher office as a cybernetic god-emperor of mankind…

Thank you Trade Bait for your uplifting, historical framing of the founding fathers.

I was excited to see Litchfield, CT mentioned as some of my ancestors were its founders. I also have ancestral founders of Wethersfield, CT & your connecticuthistory.org claims that Wethersfield was founded in 1634, or possibly earlier, so now I have a history mystery to pursue from a genealogical framework. One immigrant ancestor who was a claimed founder of Wethersfield was alleged to have arrived in Watertown about 1640 though I’ve encountered no record of his passage, so far. It’s exciting to think about the events of the founding & even further back into the colonial era when brave souls went into the wild & carved out communities in which to raise their families.

This is getting interesting. Trump is going to have to pardon all ICE agents and LEO working with them before he leaves office, otherwise Democrats will hunt them down and incarcerate them all.

BREAKING: A Boston sanctuary city activist judge just held an ICE Agent in contempt of court for arresting an illegal alien subject to deportation as he left the courthouse.

Aubergine

I think he should blanket pardon the whole of his government before leaving office. Biden set the precedent; use it.

pgroup2

One cannot be ‘found’ in contempt without a hearing where the accused is afforded the opportunity to show he wasn’t in contempt. This is due process.

kalbokalbs

Not so.

Judges these days do whatever the fuck they want.

Now, if you are saying what the judge did is illegal, who’s going to enforce it?

—-

ICE should be outside every courtroom where illegals are released into the wild.

Force the issues.

scott467

Start arresting judges for acting under the COLOR of law.

kalbokalbs

Agree.

All we need is LE to start arresting the bastards.

scott467

The Pension Protector Force won’t do anything without a direct order from above that protects their pension.

So that means Blondi is actually going to have to issue a real arrest warrant. The scoldings and warnings just aren’t having the desired effect (shocked, btw).

pgroup2

I’m saying the news twerp is wrong. Nobody was found in contempt; he might have been cited for contempt at most.

kalbokalbs

Oh.

Cited. Not found.

Wall Street Apes
@WallStreetApes
Federal Judges are not supposed to be ordering universal injunctions. The DOJ has even been trying to stop this for years

“How can a federal judge issue an order that affects everybody else other than those in front of him or her? How is that possible?”

“It shouldn’t be possible”

“I thought that if you wanted to effect parties who aren’t in court, you had to file a class action”

“That’s correct — The Department of Justice makes that argument all the time in our briefs. think in many cases, class actions would be inappropriate”

“I read Article 3, which defines judicial power. Where does it mention universal injunction?”

“It does not”

“Federal judges, you render a decision to a plaintiff or a defendant, but you can’t impact people outside of your courtroom other than through a class action.”

All of this lawfare should have never been legal to begin with

Valerie Curren

I seriously doubt that the Lawfare types care about what is actually legal or Constitutional, just what they can get away with, the process is the punishment & all 😡

scott467

They don’t, so neither can we.

We can only play by the rules set by the lowest common denominator, unless one’s objective is simply to lose.

If you are playing chess, and your opponent just starts removing your pieces from the board, you better start doing the same to him.

Is it by the rules?

No, of course not.

But if you do nothing, pretty soon the game will be over, and you lose.

Same is true of any other contest or conflict.

If one side stops playing by the rules to gain advantage, you must do the same, or you lose, unless it is your intention to lose.

Valerie Curren

so discouraging

scott467

Yes, that’s exactly what existence is, under the rule of psychopaths.

This is why they must be hunted like the modern day vampires they are, because if they gain majority control of anything, they destroy it.

HOA, corporation, country, planet, doesn’t matter.

Psychopaths destroy.

pgroup2

It’s never been legal.

kalbokalbs

Yet they do it AND get away with it.

scott467

Because there is no rule of law.

No one will risk their pension to enforce the rule of law.

pgroup2

Try the Jackson gambit:

  • In the 1832 case Worcester v. Georgia, the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice John Marshall, ruled that the state of Georgia’s laws regarding the Cherokee Indians were unconstitutional and violated federal treaties.
  • President Andrew Jackson, who supported the removal of Native Americans from their lands, allegedly responded to the ruling with the phrase, “John Marshall has made his decision, now let him enforce it”.

EACH DAY WE TAKE UP THE OFFENSIVE WEAPON OF THE WORD OF GOD – THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT – ONE VERSE OPENS THE DOOR TO THE CONTEXT OF THE CHAPTER MESSAGE

Verse of the Day for Tuesday, April 1, 2025

“But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,”

Luke 6:27 (KJV)

COMMENTARY FOR LUKE 6

The disciples pluck corn on the sabbath. (1-5) Works of mercy suitable to the sabbath day. (6-11) The apostles chosen. (12-19) Blessings and woes declared. (20-26) Christ exhorts to mercy. (27-36) And to justice and sincerity. (37-49)1-5 Christ justifies his disciples in a work of necessity for themselves on the sabbath day, and that was plucking the ears of corn when they were hungry. But we must take heed that we mistake not this liberty for leave to commit sin. Christ will have us to know and remember that it is his day, therefore to be spent in his service, and to his honour.

27-36 These are hard lessons to flesh and blood. But if we are thoroughly grounded in the faith of Christ’s love, this will make his commands easy to us. Every one that comes to him for washing in his blood, and knows the greatness of the mercy and the love there is in him, can say, in truth and sincerity, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? Let us then aim to be merciful, even according to the mercy of our heavenly Father to us.

Commentary by Matthew Henry, 1710.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

RECONCILIATION WITH GOD

Have mercy on me, my Lord and My God;
Trapped in iniquity I have trod;
Against Thee alone have I surely sinned;
‘Tween a rock and a hard place I am pinned!

I acknowledge my transgression, Oh Lord;
Away from your presence, there’s no accord;
My sin is ever before me, Oh Lord;
Evil in Your sight – I cannot afford!

Purge me with hyssop – and I shall be clean;
Wash away my iniquity – unforeseen;
Hide Thy face from my sin – blot it all out;
I cry unto You – let there be no doubt!

Restore me by grace – give me Your wisdom;
Leave me not lingering in this chasm;
Uphold me secure in spirit divine;
Break the grasp of sin – let me not opine!

The joy of salvation has bypassed me;
Uphold and mold me – oh please set me free;
Open my mouth – and I will sing your praise;
Forgive me my sin – my voice I will raise!

From my transgression – oh, make me anew;
I will teach others what they need to do;
Sinners will seek to reconcile with You;
From my heart, I promise this I will do!

Whenever your sin is before you to see;
Waste not a moment – repent ye quickly;
Be not away from His presence assure;
For the wages of sin is death for sure!

Be not afraid – He is waiting for you;
So humble yourself – you know what to do;
Ask him to wash your transgression away;
Refresh you – renew you – this very day!

There is only one sin with no recompense;
The sin of unbelief really makes no sense;
When the Spirit convicts you – do not hide;
Ask Him to cleanse you from outside inside!

The last step is important to complete;
It is the requirement – most replete;
Reconciliation with God – you must do;
If you want His Spirit to live within you!

We have this on a CD with the original “is it true Sonny Bono is the anti-Christ?” vs Richard Simmons. Our kids used to love the silliness of this song.

When my husband & I were just getting to know each other I took him to see Randy Stonehill in concert, also Margaret Becker, & one of these was the First Christian “rock” concert he’d ever been to. Fun times!

About the Masons: Many years ago, I was acquainted with the brother of my then-boyfriend’s cousin. This brother was in the process of being “readied” to join a kind of “pre-Mason” organization, called the “DeMolay.”

Valerie Curren

My hubby’s father, my grandfather, & one uncle on the other side were all Masons, though likely mostly as a social club. There were graveside rituals for Grandpa & my uncle that were extremely off-putting to our Christian family.

My husband inherited his dad’s masonic regalia but burned it in a bonfire feeling prompted by the Lord to sever those potential generational curses…

My Revolutionary War ancestor was also a Mason as was my grandpa’s dad. I don’t know if this was something passed through the family for many generations or not. My dad was not connected to it at all & he was his dad’s only son.

Grandpa came close to signing his assets over to the Masons as they pledged to take care of him in his old age. He lived 10 years after my grandma died & was mostly quite independent, living alone except for a few months of intense illness a couple months before he died. If my parents & aunt & uncle hadn’t expressed an interest in using the Cottage it’s likely that all of that family heritage would have passed into masonic hands, shudder.

We have had decades of major family memories in The Cottage, starting w/ Hubby & I living there for a year & a half & our first son being born when we lived there. Many holiday gatherings with extended family were part of our kids’ childhoods & they represent some of their best memories, especially when their Okie cousins were also able to make the trip. At its height there were 2 grandparents, 3 kids plus their spouses, 14 grandkids & occasionally a few significant others, friends or pre-fiancés!

pgroup2

Your husband made a mistake IMO.

He deprived the rest of the family tree a choice in the matter.

Valerie Curren

Interesting view. It’s never even been something we’ve talked about with our kids, but I cannot imagine Any of them having Any interest in it at all for they are all very solid, biblically based Christians (not implying that Masons can’t be Christians).

Gail Combs

My Mom was Eastern Star and Dad, my brother, my nephew and a good friend are all Masons.

I am not a joiner so I escaped. 😋

I’m not a joiner either. I have the Groucho philosophy of not wanting to be part of any club that would have me 😉 😉

Just found confirmation regarding the role of the modRNA COVID-19 “vaccines” (Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna) in causing cancer in “vaccinated” persons. This will be incorporated into the upcoming Health Friday post. However, a “capsule summary” is as follows:

The story on the discovery:
https://www.theburningplatform.com/2025/04/01/urgent-mrna-covid-jabs-change-genetic-structures-in-ways-linked-to-cancer-and-autoimmune-disorders/
guest post by Alex Berenson

The paper referred to in the story:

“Persistent epigenetic memory of SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination in monocyte-derived macrophages”
Alexander Simon, et al.
26 March 2025

ONE: The researchers in the paper found one antibody protein in particular, called H3K27ac, that was “instructed” by these COVID-19 “vaccines” to become constantly pro-inflammatory.
And, by the way, Ralph Baric was experimenting with histone H3 (H3K27ac is part of histone H3) back in 2017.

TWO: It takes ONLY TWO WEEKS AFTER THE 2ND INJECTION OF A modRNA COVID-19 “VACCINE” FOR THIS “INSTRUCTION” TO OCCUR.

A screenshot of the Synopsis of the paper is below:

People really need to read this part. This explains a LOT.

Whole thing copied for posterity…..

Guest Post by Alex Berenson

Scientists call the changes caused by the Pfizer and Moderna shots “epigenetic” – they occur around DNA’s core and activate genes in ways that can promote tumor growth.
mRNA vaccination causes long-term changes in a crucial part of our chromosomes — changes previously linked to inflammatory and autoimmune diseases and cancers including leukemia and brain tumors.

The finding came in a peer-reviewed paper from German researchers last week. The discovery might help explain post-mRNA jab “inflammatory diseases which occur in… [some] vaccinated individuals,” the researchers wrote.

In a discussion with outside reviewers that was published along with the paper, the researchers suggested the changes they found are “very likely” occurring in bone marrow cells, the source of all blood cells. Their finding comes as other researchers report rising deaths from leukemia – a blood cancer – in very highly vaccinated Japan.

In the paper, published in the journal Molecular Systems Biology on March 25, the German researchers examined changes in the chromosomes of macrophages in people who had received mRNA Covid shots.

Macrophages are immune cells that circulate in the blood and attack and destroy foreign invaders like viruses and bacteria. The scientists found alterations in a crucial part of the macrophage chromosome called the histone.

Genetic scientists compare histones to drums around which cables of DNA are wrapped. Unlike DNA itself, the histones do not contain actual genetic information, but they provide the structure for it.

As a result, histones play a crucial role in processing genetic material. When they are bunched closely together, the DNA they hold is hard to access, so the cellular machinery that uses DNA to make proteins cannot do so. When histones are more widely separated, cells will process, or transcribe, DNA more actively — potentially leading to tumor growth.

The specific change the researchers found is called “histone 3 lysine 27 acetylation,” abbreviated to H3K27ac. The H3K27ac change is known to be found in several different types of cancer and has attracted increasing scientific attention.

In February, Chinese researchers published a review on it, suggesting that it had “emerging potential as a therapeutic target in cancer.” The paper examined “the genetic mutation and epigenetic mechanisms by which H3K27ac might contribute to various types of cancer… [and] future directions for cancer treatment that might involve targeting H3K27ac.”’

Last fall, researchers in Poland offered a similar overview. “Histone acetylation… regulates gene expression [and] is associated with cancer initiation, development and progression,” they wrote. They specifically noted that the H3K27ac change had been found in leukemia and other cancers, including gliomas, a deadly form of brain cancer.

SOURCE

In their paper last week, the German researchers found the H3K27ac alterations occurred broadly across many chromosomal regions. In addition, they found the changes when they examined macrophages several months after the shots, even though macrophages typically die in one to two weeks.

“We were able to demonstrate that SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination establishes extensive and persistent H3K27ac at promoters [a specific region on the chromosome that encourages DNA transcription] of short-lived macrophages,” they wrote in the paper, which was titled “Persistent epigenetic memory of SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination in monocyte-derived macrophages.”

That fact suggests that similar changes may be occurring in longer-lived “monocytes,” which produce macrophages, the researchers wrote.

In the paper itself, the researchers avoided suggesting that mRNA-driven histone alterations might also occur in an even more crucial part of the immune system — the bone marrow stem cells that produce monocytes and all other blood cells.

But in a discussion with a reviewer who encouraged them “to include examples of bone marrow HSCs [stem cells] reprogramming and how this may explain long-term [changes],” they responded that they believed it “very likely” the mRNA vaccines cause the same kind of changes in stem cells as they had found in macrophages.

Why the German researchers did not mention this possibility in the paper is not clear. Its lead and senior authors did not return an email for comment.

Leukemia is essentially a cancer of stem cells, and Japanese researchers have found a statistically significant increase in leukemia in Japan in 2022 and 2023. Japan relied almost exclusively on mRNA jabs against Covid, and nearly every adult received both the initial two-shot regimen and a booster.

This part particularly relevant……

*****************

I’m frankly surprised that these scientists were able to publish what they did. IMO it is only due to the slow, steady changes in the scientific environment, in no small part due to the pressure of honest scientists like McCullough and Malone, doctors like the ladies on X, journalists like Berenson, and patriotic supporters of truth like Kirsch and our own PAVACA, who have thereby allowed the needle to move toward TRUTH.

Boston Judge Holds ICE Agent in Contempt for Detaining Illegal Migrant-
A Boston judge dismissed a criminal case against a migrant here in the United States illegally, citing prosecutorial misconduct after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents detained him during his criminal trial. The judge also held the arresting ICE agent in contempt of court for “egregious misconduct.”
Wilson Martell-Lebron, a Dominican national, appeared in court last Thursday on charges for having provided false information on a license application, but when he left Boston’s Edward W. Brooke Courthouse, he was detained by ICE agents and placed in an unmarked SUV. Boston Municipal Court Judge Mark Summerville accused the agents of “obstructing justice,” adding that ICE agent Brian Sullivan “conspired in a premeditated manner” to take Martell-Lebron into custody, per Boston 25 News. Summerville even charged that Sullivan “intentionally” and “egregiously” Martell-Lebron’s rights under the 6th and 14th amendments of the U.S. Constitution.

I think there is some confusion about the difference between rights and privileges. Second there is some degree of confusion legally about the interpretation of rights versus privileges. Whenever something can be confused, something can be litigated.

At least the judge has no jurisdiction to “try” the contempt. It must go in front of a different judge because it didn’t happen in the judge’s presence.

I could easily argue an affirmative defense that the judge had no personal jurisdiction over the ICE guy since ICE was not a party to the case [ICE doesn’t prosecute].

Mini Ground Report

OK, my middle son called me in distress last night. One of his housemates, who is here on a student visa, just got a notice from his college (he’s about a month away from graduating w/ a double major) that he’s being suspended because a “search” turned up “criminal activity” & now he’s at risk of deportation.

According to my son this friend has no criminal background, he comes from a pretty well-off Indian family (not sure if well enough off that they could purchase a Gold Card though) & has never had a run-in with the law.

The guys are scrambling trying to help their friend as his life is being turned upside down with a possible case of mistaken identity.

I suggested that they explore All the options that are outlined in any written communications from the college &/or the government. I mentioned Cornell Law as a site to look up any laws cited for context & “clarity” (the law is pretty unclear to “civilians”).

We don’t know what will end up happening with this friend, if he’ll be able to obtain these degrees that he’s been working toward for 7 years, if he’ll be forcibly removed or detained, if his plans to get engaged to his girlfriend will be postponed or eliminated.

My son was joking that he was tempted to look up a lawyer son of one of our church friend families who’s a rabid leftie but would love the chance to stick a finger in Trump’s eye. My son had prefaced all his remarks by saying that Trump was putting a stake through his friend’s heart.

In other news another associate of this same son got caught in the DOGE crossfire in that she was to move to California for some government position that has now been eliminated so will be staying in Michigan & looking for alternate work.

TheseTruths

That’s unfortunate! The only advice I could give would be to get a lawyer ASAP, and maybe to contact his Congressional representatives.

Valerie Curren

Do Congressional representatives Represent non-citizens?

TheseTruths

Oh, I missed the “visa” part. I doubt it, but I’m not sure.

Valerie Curren

Only if they’re lefties & the non-citizen & their issues can help tear the country down or apart!

Wolf Moon

HA! Great answer!

Valerie Curren

Thanks…I think…grrr!

pgroup2

Listen to your son and tell the Indian to behave apolitically.

Valerie Curren

I don’t think that the Indian has been behaving politically At All, just a student.

pgroup2

That’s good of him but a student was just arrested and put on a deportation track because he wasn’t just a student. He was agitating for violence.

I was just giving the advice I’d give to anybody with an immigration issue.

Valerie Curren

Good riddance to that type!

:wpds_arrow: Update: It looks like Brandon’s Indian friend will be leaving the US Monday…

Gail Combs

The bright side is you often have ten years to finish your degree.

Valerie Curren

Yikes! I wonder if credits transfer internationally?

Gail Combs

There are also on-line classes. Given he is so close to graduating he may be able to make arrangements, esp given how far Left most universities now lean.

Valerie Curren

I hope so for his sake 🙂

Aubergine

Hmmm.

The fact that he isn’t fighting the deportation makes me wonder what your son doesn’t know about this student.

I generally default to the trust position, and believing people when they tell me things. And I get burned, often. Maybe there really is nothing there, and this is an injustice. It’s just hard to know.

Valerie Curren

Well B was talking w/ Hubby & apparently the school’s hands are tied by some maneuver the government did that doesn’t allow the school to advocate for him, some type of account was closed or some type of status was changed & it was outside of the school’s hands or something. We don’t really know.

My son has known this young man for quite a few years & lived in 3 different “frat” houses with him. There is nothing in his character that makes anyone who knows him think he is guilty of anything criminal.

In fact they met because my son was heavily involved in a ministry on the campus of Wayne State University that ended up also segueing into a very unique campus church that got demonically blown up by all the covid crimes. The first “frat” house they lived in along with a few other guys was actually a rental of that on-campus pastor’s & they only had to move when the pastor was leaving the state for another church opportunity & selling off his rental home.

The young man in question is Hindu, I believe, but has lived mostly with a slightly varying group of Christian young men over all the years Brandon has known him. Apparently his faith allows for the “worship of other gods” so he has been comfortably exploring Christianity in addition to his own faith traditions.

Wolf Moon

Did the kid over-stay his visa?

I agree that it’s weird he’s not saying they have the wrong person, if he never got into any trouble.

Valerie Curren

I don’t think he’s overstayed but if he has he may have thought there’s just one more month & I can get away with it or something. It’s a very strange situation but I’m only hearing about it second hand. Now B will be missing a mentorship gathering w/ the guys, including Hubby’s to die for smoker ribs, as he & his friends are throwing together a going away party for their friend.

Aubergine

Well, let us know what happens.

Valerie Curren

I will, Thanks 🙂

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna Abandons Freedom Caucus in Explosive Exit Over Proxy Voting Clash

Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), a rising star in the MAGA wing of the Republican Party, has dramatically resigned from the House Freedom Caucus, accusing her former allies of betrayal, blackmail, and abandoning “pro-family” values.

Luna’s departure stems from her fierce advocacy for a bipartisan measure that would allow new mothers and fathers in the House to vote remotely for 12 weeks following the birth of their child, a measure she described as “modest” and “family-centered.”

The proposal, co-sponsored with Democratic Representative Brittany Pettersen (D-Colo.), gained traction through a rare discharge petition, securing discharge signatures from over 200 Democrats and 11 Republicans.

A discharge petition is a procedural tool that enables lawmakers to bypass leadership and bring a bill to the House floor—if it secures signatures from a majority of members.

Speaker Johnson, a vocal critic of proxy voting, labeled Luna’s proposal “unconstitutional.” Representative Chip Roy (R-Texas), Luna’s former colleague in the Freedom Caucus, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the potential for misuse and advocating for lawmakers to be physically present for votes.

On March 27th, Luna accused her own party of backroom deals and sabotaged her own bill.

“Rep. Tim. Burchett’s bill on defunding the Taliban was just threatened if he voted in favor of my discharge petition to allow new parents in Congress to vote after birth. Why would anyone in leadership think it’s a good idea to keep a bill that stops taxpayer funded terrorism off the floor? I have also been asked multiple times want in exchange for killing this. Let me be clear: MY VOTE IS NOT FOR SALE. This institutional change is bigger than just me and will help the country in the long run.”

More details at the link.
I don’t know anything about the rules of the House or how things can get manipulated, but I don’t support 12 weeks (3 months!) of proxy voting for parents of newborns. I agree with those who say proxy voting is ripe for fraud. It is also not mentioned in the Constitution.

kalbokalbs

Be “present” or don’t vote.

TheseTruths

Only 13 Congresswomen have ever given birth while in office. As for the men, what Luna wants is for any man whose wife gives birth while he is in office to be able to vote by proxy for 12 weeks.

A congresswoman with a newborn is on a mission to modernize the House

Rep. Brittany Pettersen of Colorado, a Democrat, just became the 13th voting member of Congress to give birth in office. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida, a Republican, was the 12th when she welcomed her first child last year. And under current House rules, neither was able to vote while on leave, recovering from giving birth.

Now, they’re teaming up on a resolution to allow new parents to represent their constituents by designating another member to vote for them, commonly known as proxy voting, for 12 weeks after welcoming a child.

House Speaker Mike Johnson did not include the measure in the rules package for the new Congress and later released a statement stating he believes proxy voting is unconstitutional. Both Pettersen and Luna believe they’ve been let down by House Republican leadership and are aiming to circumvent House leaders with a procedural maneuver known as a discharge petition to put to it a vote…

During the COVID-19 pandemic, House members could designate another member to vote on their behalf. Members of both parties made regular use of proxy voting, but some Republicans, led by former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, sued to end its use. Federal courts rejected those arguments, but McCarthy formally ended the practice when Republicans won back control of the House in 2022.

“I have great sympathy, empathy for all of our young women legislators who are of birthing age. It’s a real quandary,” [Speaker] Johnson said in his statement. “But I’m afraid it doesn’t fit with the language of the Constitution, and that’s the inescapable truth that we have.”

…Pettersen and Luna are marshaling support for a discharge petition to circumvent Johnson and put the measure to the floor for a vote. They can bring a discharge petition 30 legislative days after first introducing their measure, which falls in late March. Historically, discharge petitions have rarely been successful in part because they require a majority of House members to sign on — but Luna and Pettersen are determined. They expect widespread support from Democrats for the measure, meaning that in the narrowly divided House, they need just a handful of Republicans to sign on.

“As a Republican male member said, it’s very hard to say no to a pregnant lady asking for their vote, so I think that I am losing some of my leverage here,” Pettersen said. “But if I need to show up with my newborn, nursing, to sign the discharge petition and to talk to members, I will do that.”

When you petition for and accept a job, you know the rules and parameters within which you are going to have to work. You might be offered paid family leave, or not. You might have to be present for votes, or not. You might be on call to go and and vote.

That said, there might be times when our side would need the vote of someone who is absent due to pregnancy or giving birth. That’s something everyone has to take into account when deciding which candidate to vote for. But it occurs so rarely that it’s off the radar.

cthulhu

There is something to this. I am very wary of younger women who have obviously had “work done” to try to improve on their appearance, which was already attractive. It’s as if they have to let everyone know they are sexy. They often dress the part, too. I could name at least one other prominent Repub woman who IMO is like this, but I’ll refrain. Their mode of dress is often a distraction from the work they are assigned to do. On the other hand, someone like Melania doesn’t have to try; she just is.

I don’t understand any of that. Do you have a link for Sortor’s comment? (That probably wouldn’t clarify it, but it might lead to some context.)

• “a handful of Republicans joined all the Democrats to allow certain members to vote from their couches instead of coming in to work” – so they are allowing proxy voting?

• “The rule being brought down” – what rule?

• ““That rule being brought down means that we can’t have any further action on the floor this week.” – It would help to know what rule prevents further action for the week, and why.

The 9 House Republicans who rebelled against leadership over new-mom proxy voting issue

Nine Republicans crossed party lines on Tuesday to join all House Democrats in opposing a procedural rule that would block a floor vote on a bill that would allow proxy voting for new moms.

The internal revolt forced House Republican leadership to send lawmakers home by canceling all votes for the remainder of the week. The House will reconvene on Monday.

Here are the nine Republicans who voted against the procedural rule:

California Rep. Kevin Kiley

Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna

Florida Rep. Greg Steube

New Jersey Rep. Jeff Van Drew

New York Rep. Mike Lawler

New York Rep. Nick LaLota

Ohio Rep. Max Miller

Pennsylvania Rep. Ryan MacKenzie

Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett

The rule was blocked in a 206-222 vote.

GOP House leaders cancel votes for rest of week after internal revolt over new-mom proxy vote

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer on Tuesday informed the lower chamber that there will be no more votes on the House floor until next Monday, effectively canceling all planned votes for the remainder of the week.

The news comes after a group of nine Republicans joined House Democrats in opposing a procedural rule that would have blocked the House from voting on allowing proxy voting for new parents.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said that the group of Republicans’ bringing down the procedural rule meant that no further action could take place on the House floor this week, including votes on the SAVE Act.

“Let me just make clear, that rule being brought down means that we can’t have further action on the floor this week,” Johnson told reporters. “That means we cannot vote on the SAVE act for election integrity, we will not be voting on the rogue judges who are attacking President [Donald] Trump’s agenda … All of that was just wiped off the table. It’s very unfortunate.”

Still trying to find out why all votes for the week must be cancelled:

House cancels rest of votes for week after GOP floor rebellion

…The vote also blocked planned votes on GOP priorities to limit the power of federal judges and to require proof of citizenship to vote.

Why?

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) successfully used an arcane and rarely successful discharge petition procedure to force a vote on Rep. Brittany Pettersen’s (D-Colo.) resolution to allow members who give birth or lawmakers whose spouses give birth to have another member vote for them for 12 weeks.

But amid opposition from Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) — who has argued that proxy voting is unconstitutional — the leadership-controlled House Rules Committee inserted language into a procedural rule to kill Luna’s effort.

That hardball tactic, however, failed Tuesday when nine Republicans voted with Democrats to torpedo the procedural vote, bringing key legislative action on the floor to a halt. Without adopting a rule, the House is unable to debate and vote on big-ticket legislative items.

What does “adopting a rule” mean? How would that work?

“It’s a very disappointing result on the floor there, a handful of Republicans joined with all Democrats to take down a rule,” Johnson said after the vote. “That’s rarely done.”

The thwarted rule means the House leaders cannot hold votes as planned on the No Rogue Rulings Act, which would limit the power of federal judges to impose nationwide injunctions like those that have blocked Trump administration actions; and the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would require proof of citizenship in order to register to vote.

“Let me just make this clear: That rule being brought down means that we can’t have any further action on the floor this week,” he added. “That means we will not be voting on the SAVE Act for election integrity. We will not be voting on the rogue judges who are attacking President Trump’s agenda. We will not be taking down these terrible Biden policies with the CRA votes. All that was just wiped off the table. It’s very unfortunate. We’ll regroup and come back, and we’ll have to do this again.”

It’s still clear as mud. I consider all of this to be shoddy, inadequate reporting. I also am getting a very negative opinion of Luna. She had to have known what this would do, and she placed proxy voting above major issues that the rest of us care about. Having a baby while in Congress is something that affects a tiny percentage of Congress, let alone the country. 😡

“I don’t know anything about it”

Neither do I really, but have got by with it for years.

The art of coarse Linnux…
Buy a DVD or download ubuntu 22.04 & keep it handy
Set updates to “security updates only”
Set notify of new version to “never”
Make regular back ups of stuff that’s important,
Never mess with the Terminal thing.
Never mess with anything.
Ignore that Snaps thing that keeps nagging.

scott467

If I do that, you will never see me again — which, granted, could be a bonus for some! — the installation would break things that could never be fixed.

Installing and learning a new operating system is well beyond my capability. I nearly made the guy I bought my first Windows 95 computer from put Windows 3.1 on it, because that’s what I knew how to use.

He convinced me to try Windows 95 by promising to let me bring the PC back to him to install Windows 3.1 on it a week or two later, if I hated Windows 95 that much.

I did hate it that much, but it was too much trouble to disconnect everything and take it back.

A computer (to me) is a black box, and if I go tinkering around inside, I mess things up. I don’t understand enough to know what I messed up, or why, so I can never fix it.

The only thing I can do is destroy it, and buy a new one, and not mess around inside the new one.

In one of Clint Eastwood’s movies, he says “A man needs to know his limitations”.

This is one of mine.

One of the biggest “tricks” to running Linux is to have two or more computers. That way, when you get one so kludged it isn’t responsive, you can use the other to research how to fix it. It also helps to have a certain familiarity with swapping hard drives.

scott467

Researching something technical like that does more harm than good.

I do not have the technical expertise to understand the solutions, and it is not possible to ask any of the 100+ questions I have that begin with “what happens if I __________”.

Because “__________” always #*&^ing happens, every single #^%$ing time.

It always comes down to the same thing.

I’m Ed Harris in The Abyss (1989), at the bottom of the Marianas Trench, trying to diffuse a nuclear bomb, in fluorescent chemical lighting.

I’m supposed to cut the blue wire with a white stripe, not the black wire with a yellow stripe, but the yellow-green chemical light on my diving suit makes them indistinguishable.

I can’t tell which is which, so I have to just pick one.

If I pick the wrong one, it’s the last choice I ever make (with that computer).

I always pick the wrong one.

So I learned to not go in the ocean.

If you’re starting today, you should keep Ubuntu 24.04 around instead of 22.04. That’s Noble Numbat over Jammy Jellyfish.

About 80% of updates are security updates anyway, so you might as well do all updates.

Numbat is good until April 2029. You might want to consider updating to the new version around the end of 2026.

scott467

I’m on the WP notifications page and it says ‘browser notifications’ is disabled, but they aren’t disabled.

When I click on ‘comments’ under the “notifications” tab, it has email checked for ‘likes’ and ‘replies’, even though I almost never receive email notification.

But the ‘bell’ for ‘likes’ and ‘replies’ is UNCHECKED.

Yet I receive the exact opposite of what is shown in my notifications.

It’s like every bell, whistle and buzzer is activated, both on WP and on my browser. This isn’t an new development, it has been that way for about a week now, since it started happening to everyone.

I just can’t take it anymore. I’m shell-shocked, it’s like some kind of psychological torture, like chyneeze water torture, and I just need to make it stop! 😂

pgroup2

Make your browser window less than full size. Then slide your browser window to the right until the bell is off the screen.

The scroll bar goes away to but clicking on a blank area of the page allows you to use your arrow keys to move the page up and down.

kalbokalbs

Does that turn off the bell?

scott467

That’s not going to work as a full time solution, and really not as a short term solution either, because it just moves the screen to an adjacent screen (I use 3 monitors).

There has to be a way to just turn this crap off.

Wolf Moon

One would think! And yet…..

Valerie Curren

I think the new bell is a discuz, iirc, function Wolf bought, not generic WP per se…

scott467

The bell rings constantly. If I have one notification, that bell will ring every 30 seconds until I click on the bell and click ‘read’. It won’t stop until I do that.

If I have more than one notification, it’s double, or triple, or quadruple. It’s like I have a five-alarm fire going off on my computer.

For some reason, now the horizontal scroll bar in the pop up box is not showing, so I can’t even scroll over (horizontally) to click the ‘comment’ link.

All I can do is click ‘read’ to make it stop.

Valerie Curren

The horizontal scroll bar is only visible if you scroll to the very bottom of the new bell box. for Some computers you can click on any comment & use left & right arrow keys to get to what parts you can’t see & this function works for me. I thought that Wolf turned the bell off, at least the sound, a couple days ago so I have no idea why yours is ringing unless those “rich men North of Richmond” found your personal achilles heel!

Wolf Moon

Yes! The sound is turned off now.

scott467

Even with zero new comments, the stupid bell just shakes every 5 seconds, like it’s on crack.

Valerie Curren

I haven’t heard the ding for a long time since Wolf switched it off.

Some people are using ctrl f to bring the “find” box up & then making it cover the crack bell LOL

scott467

I think you’re right, it’s not the bell that is making the alarm sound, it’s the browser pop-up box that coincides with the shaking of the bell, and I was mistakenly attributing the browser sound effect to the jiggling bell icon.

Valerie Curren

Well, that’s something. You might want to close that tab & reload the page elsewhere & DON’T allow notifications in the pop-up if it asks for permission for Wolf said that could cause some problems…

Wolf Moon

Yes. Browser notifications are different from the wpDiscuz bell notifications, which are different from the JetPack bell notifications.

Wolf Moon

OK – what you need to do is turn OFF Browser notifications FOR THIS SITE.

Unfortunately, you’re on Windows, and you will have to look into how that is done. Which browser are you using?

scott467

I’m using Mozilla Firefox.

Wolf Moon

OK – you can definitely regulate which (if any) JetPack and WordPress notifications come to you using the setting for sites that you already found in WordPress. You can regulate browser notifications for this site using what you just found. The only thing left is the new bell notifier for wpDiscuz. Sadly, I am the only one who can regulate it. I wish there was some way for individual users to turn off features, but so far, I cannot find any.

scott467

Somehow, after clicking various icons across the top of the screen (W, dashboard, bell 1, bell 2, profile, I don’t remember which), I went to a page that shows the following:

………………………..
Activate Browser NotificationsTo turn on WordPress.com notifications in your browser:

  1. Visit your site’s dashboard.

  3. Select “Notification Settings” on the left side.
  4. Next to the “Browser Notifications” panel, click the Enable button:
  5. comment image?w=1024
  1. If you receive a pop-up, click “Allow” (Chrome) or “Always receive notifications” (Firefox).

……………………………..

Somehow, I got to this page: https://wordpress.com/me/notifications

It shows a picture of the bell, followed by:
Browser notifications: Disabled

I couldn’t see the ability to do anything because the RH side of the screen was covered by a drop-down (or pop up) menu, but I did something that made that go away, and there is an “ENABLE” button underneath it.

I don’t really want to enable it, seems like it’s already enabled, that’s what’s causing the problem, but I guess I can ‘enable’ and then ‘unenable’, to see if that resets it.

Now it’s gone, so I did a search through the whole page, checking every post for ‘scott’, but I didn’t see any post of yours that I may have missed.

scott467

On the Notifications Settings’ page, under the ‘comments’ tab, I unclicked the bell notification for ‘likes’ and for ‘comments’, and clicked save.

I think that may have

Didn’t work.

Wolf Moon

All that stuff there is for the OLD notifier (which is usually an ORANGE BELL for most people.

The new notifier has no controls for individuals, sadly. It just does the stupid bell-wiggle.

scott467

I kept getting the browser pop-up window saying cuppa had replied to one of my posts, but it wasn’t showing up in the bell notifier list, so I clicked directly on the browser pop up (in the bottom RH corner), and I got a pop-up bar at the top of the qtree webpage (below my address bar) saying “Firefox prevented this site from opening a pop-up window.” followed by an options tab.

It’s certainly NOT preventing pop-ups, I get the cuppa notification about every 30 seconds, until I click ‘read’ in the bell notifier list (upper RH corner), then the browser pop-up box (lower RH corner) stops.

So I’ll click ‘options’ now, and see what that does.

scott467

It just takes me back to the Mozilla Firefox settings page, where I can allow pop-ups, so I checked the list, and qtree is removed from the ‘allow’ list, but that isn’t stopping pop-ups from Qtree.

It’s like I’m in a doom-loop, and it won’t stop, I get the browser pop-up every 30 seconds in the lower RH corner, and I get the damn crack-bell shaking in the upper RH corner.

Wolf Moon

OK, this is something individually wrong with your set-up. You ARE getting notifications, and they are BROWSER notifications of some kind. It could be that your operating system is overruling your browser.

scott467

Cuppa notification, 3 times in rapid succession, bell shaking like a leaf, but when I click on the bell to see what notification it is, cuppa isn’t in there, it’s just the same comment from you, saying “try going to this page…. notifications”, which I have already marked “read” multiple times.

Meanwhile, the browser (bottom RH corner) notifies me several more times that cuppa has replied to one of my comments.

It’s like playing whack-a-mole, except all the moles are popping up at the same time.

Wolf Moon

Pop up the “new notifier” and do a “delete all” – does that change things at all?

Evening Prayer For Forgiveness

Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.

Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.

As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.

Give me a good night’s sleep I pray, knowing that there is no condemnation because I am in Christ, and may I wake up in the morning refreshed and ready to do Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray,

Amen.

Evening Prayer For Future Guidance

Heavenly Father, as I lie down to sleep tonight, I pray that You would guard my sleeping and protect my mind from wandering thoughts and unnecessary planning. Teach me to wait for Your perfect timing and not to try to plan my future in my own strength.

Lord, I know that You have scheduled every day of my life. Help me to trust You in all things and rely on You to lead me along the straight path and guide me in the direction that You would have me to go.

Give me patience to wait for Your perfect timing, and may I not trust in my own abilities and scheming, but rather rest in Your love and trust my future into Your hands.

And so now Lord, I commit this night to you, asking that I would rest soundly and wake refreshed and strong to do Your bidding. This I ask in Jesus’ precious name,

Amen.

Prayer Of Thanksgiving In The Evening

Praise Your holy name Heavenly Father, for granting yet another day in my life and for being with me every step of the way. Thank You for the many blessings that You have provided and the love and fellowship that I have with the friends and family that in Your grace You have placed in my life.

My heart is so thankful for all the many blessings that I enjoy day by day, and today I am once again reminded that Your mercies are new every morning and Your faithfulness endures from generation to generation.

Thank You, that I have been brought into Your family and have been made a child of God and a citizen of heaven. Words cannot express my love and devotion to You Lord

I pray that You would watch over me as I rest tonight, and that You would give me a restful nights sleep so that I may wake up in the morning refreshed in body and spirit and ready to do Your will. Guard all those that I love and may we all grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ in the days that lie ahead. This I ask in His precious name,

Amen.

I clicked on the “Reader” option, and it let me see the article. Here it is:

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) and two top U.S. lawmakers on March 31 sued President Donald Trump over a recent executive order that aims to enforce the law against illegal immigrant voting and election dates.

“The Executive Order seeks to impose radical changes on how Americans register to vote, cast a ballot, and participate in our democracy—all of which threaten to disenfranchise lawful voters and none of which is legal,” says the lawsuit, filed by Democratic Party attorney Marc Elias in federal court in Washington.

Trump’s March 25 order has multiple sections. Several deal with laws that bar foreigners from registering to vote or from voting in federal elections. Trump directed the independent Election Assistance Commission to require proof of U.S. citizenship in its mail voter registration form, ordered U.S. officials to work with the Department of Government Efficiency to review voter rolls to identify noncitizens who are already registered, and told the U.S. attorney general to prosecute individuals who have illegally registered or voted.

Another prong takes aim at how some states in recent years have begun counting mailed ballots that arrive after Election Day, which the order says contravenes federal law.

A third portion says the Election Assistance Commission shall stop providing federal funds to states that don’t comply with the laws on election dates and noncitizen voting and voter registration.

The U.S. Constitution’s election clause says that states can set election dates, although Congress can alter them.

“Outside of the Elections Clause, other provisions in the Constitution place certain requirements and limitations on the regulation of elections—but none allows the President to override the will of the States or Congress in this space,” the new suit states.

The legal challenge also says that the Election Assistance Commission is an independent agency over which the president, who appoints commissioners, has no control, and that federal law lets applicants who vote in federal elections attest to citizenship with a signature as opposed to requiring proof from documents such as a passport.

In addition to the DNC, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), the top Democrat in the U.S. Senate, and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), the top Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives, are plaintiffs in the suit.

The Democrats are asking the court to declare that the order violates the Constitution and federal law and block U.S. officials, such as the attorney general, from implementing it.

“The Democrats continue to show their disdain for the Constitution and it continues to show in their insane objections to the President’s commonsense executive actions to require proof of U.S. citizenship in an effort to protect the integrity of American elections,“ Harrison Fields, a White House spokesman, told The Epoch Times in an email. ”The Trump administration is standing up for free, fair, and honest elections and asking this basic question is essential to our Constitutional Republic.”

Ahead of the 2016 election, Elias helped compile a dossier against Trump. He was named in a different order by Trump that directed officials to take action against lawyers who are violating laws and regulations.

Earlier Monday, several organizations filed a separate suit in the same court over the election order, outlining similar arguments.

“The president’s executive order is an unlawful action that threatens to uproot our tried-and-tested election systems and silence potentially millions of Americans,“ Danielle Lang, senior director of voting rights at the Campaign Legal Center, which is representing the groups, said in a statement. ”It is simply not within the president’s authority to set election rules by executive decree, especially when they would restrict access to voting in this way.”

This article on Luna-gate expresses my thoughts.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/04/gop-disarray-trump-agenda-upended-as-rep-anna/

:wpds_arrow: A handful of Republicans decided to put themselves first and derail President Trump’s agenda for at least a week all because of an obscure issue few people in America care about.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) dramatically resigned from the House Freedom Caucus on Monday, accusing her former allies of betrayal, blackmail, and abandoning “pro-family” values.

Luna’s departure stems from her fierce advocacy for a bipartisan measure that would allow new mothers and fathers in the House to vote remotely for 12 weeks following the birth of their child. The proposal, co-sponsored with Democratic Representative Brittany Pettersen (D-CO), gained traction through a rare discharge petition, securing discharge signatures from over 200 Democrats and 11 Republicans.

A discharge petition is a procedural tool that enables lawmakers to bypass leadership and bring a bill to the House floor—if it secures signatures from a majority of members.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) refused to accept Luna’s plan, labeling it unconstitutional. He and other House GOP leaders attempted to block the petition by inserting language in an unrelated “rules” package on Monday night that would have effectively prevented Luna’s bill from getting a vote.

So Luna decided to exact her revenge Tuesday afternoon with the help of eight other Republicans.

As Fox News reported, the nine GOPers joined all Democrats to defeat a rules package which would have allowed for debate and floor consideration for two critical bills backed by the Trump administration that were slated to get a vote on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

The two pieces of legislation under consideration would have limited district judges’ ability to levy nationwide injunctions and mandated proof of citizenship to register to vote.

Arguably, the radical left’s most effective weapons are their ability to steal elections and frivolously lawfare. Now, Democrats can breathe a sigh of relief and guffaw at the fact that the GOP is in disarray and cannot pursue further floor action for the rest of the week.

“It’s a very disappointing result on the floor there, a handful of Republicans joined with all the Democrats to take down a rule. That’s rarely done. It’s very unfortunate,” Johnson said. “That rule being brought down means that we can’t have any further action on the floor this week.”

As expected, Democrats erupted in applause after the vote failed…

Luna was equally pleased after the rule failed.

“I think that today is a pretty historical day for the entire conference and showing that, yeah, the body has decided that parents deserve a voice in Washington and also to the importance of female members having a vote in Washington D.C.,” Luna said to reporters.

My impression is that Luna is not very smart. I started to wonder during the process for releasing the JFK documents, but this seals it. On the list of important things I’m concerned about, “female members having a vote in Washington, D.C.” does not register at all because female memberts of Congress do have a vote in Washington. Why would any member of Congress think the people across the country care about this issue? I hope Luna, Burchett, and the others get an earful from their constituents. This was a major misstep, and it makes Luna look like she’s siding with Dems to derail the Repub agenda.

kalbokalbs

Luna Sucks. Along with the other ~eight R-Con traitors.

Here were the nine Republicans who joined with the opposition party and allowed the radical left at least another week of free reign.

  • Anna Paulina Luna of Florida
  • Tim Burchett of Tennessee
  • Nick LaLota of New York
  • Kevin Kiley of California
  • Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey
  • Greg Steube of Florida
  • Max Miller of Ohio
  • Mike Lawler of New York
  • Ryan Mackenzie of Pennsylvania
TheseTruths

I’m not sure about the others, but I’ve always had a good impression of Tim Burchett. I’m surprised he went along with this.

kalbokalbs

Agree.

Maternity leave, vote from home is not the hill to die on.

With everything on the line, simply stoopid.

Wolf Moon

Yes. She should have looked for far better timing AND some real debate.

Can it be weaponized by the left? Is it a bad precedent? Never rush something like this.

She’s a temporarily insane idiot, and Mike Johnson is smart and calm.

Wolf Moon

Max Miller – also a DOPE. Trump did many good things for him. AYE-YI-YI.

pgroup2

Agreed.

Wolf Moon

She’s worse than not smart right now. Luna is a PREGNANT WOMAN. I.e., she’s IRRATIONAL right now. It takes LOGIC to be a team player. To FOCUS. To think about the long-term consequences.

This is a Pyrrhic victory for whoever wants to claim it. Insane.

Just because the REASONS men withheld the vote from women weren’t good reasons to withhold the vote, doesn’t mean they weren’t TRUE and IMPORTANT. The emotional, frequently irrational, and periodically insane behavior of many women, is quite real, and can be a problem.

Wolf Moon

*Unless she’s had birth already. I have not been following her train wreck.

Aubergine

Either way, she is a hormonal nightmare.

Wolf Moon

Yes! I think so.

TheseTruths

She has not announced that she is pregnant that I know of. I think her issue stems from when she was pregnant with her one child, who according to Wiki was born on August 27, 2023. I have read that she had some issues during pregnancy and was ordered not to travel, so I guess she couldn’t go to Washington. That must have become a major issue in her mind, but IMO it’s a personal issue. She is not representing her constituents with this fight.

Wolf Moon

OK, that must be the pregnancy I’m thinking of, and I’m confusing it with more recent statements.

This is MSN, so take with a truckload of salt, but still – there is some weird stuff going on with this gal, it seems.

I know that employees can see things from a skewed point of view, and criticizing the boss is common, but I believe the part about narcissism and would not be surprised if some of the other complaints were true as well. Luna has completely turned me away now.

Wolf Moon

She seems to wander in and out of a state of being able to see the forest – and when she’s seeing only a tree, it’s really, really just one tree.

Valerie Curren

Sadly, “baby brain” is a real thing. But by that argument barren/childless women would be potentially more rational as potential voters or leaders. I believe Cuppa, in particular, likes to point out the many childless female leaders in Europe that are tyrannical psychopaths not caring for anyone else’s children either…hmmm…

Wolf Moon

Yup. Damned if they do – damned if they don’t. Life is no picnic. Period.

Valerie Curren

Period”

Tim Walz is “right”, trans “men” do bleed LOL

Aubergine

“Just because the REASONS men withheld the vote from women weren’t good reasons to withhold the vote, doesn’t mean they weren’t TRUE and IMPORTANT.”

WHY are the “reasons” not good? Most women are frequently irrational. WHY should they be allowed to have any control over issues that affect MY life?

As a woman with the super-rare freak personality type INTJ, which makes me hyper rational, I would WILLINGLY give up MY vote if it would prevent loony pregnant women from making decisions in government that fuck shit up.

pgroup2

What a superb comment. 😍

Aubergine

🙂

Valerie Curren

Funny I tested as INFP but it was really NP since I was practically dead center on E & I as well as on T & F. I’m quite rational & very logical (at least for my family 😉 ) & Hubby freely admits he’s both way more emotional & less logical than me LOL

Though I wouldn’t prefer to give up my vote it is fairly clear historically that allowing women to vote in the US (& likely elsewhere) has lead to many issues!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Unfortunately that SP line is critical. If you’re on the S side of the line, then what matters is the P/J axis with T/F being secondary. If you’re on the P side, then T/F matters more than P/J.

I tested as very strongly T, and much more centered on the other axes, leaning towards P. Which meant that the first time I read about this, I saw something of myself in the SJ and SP (where F versus T don’t matter much), I saw a lot of myself in the description of NT, and almost nothing at all of myself in the NF description. In fact the description of NF I read struck me as verging on mentally ill.

Valerie Curren

In fact the description of NF I read struck me as verging on mentally ill.”

You’re slaying me! LOL

Reading up on Myers Briggs stuff is what made me consider going for a Psych major but I opted instead for the Christian Counseling masters with an additional year, compared to a second bachelor’s.

Do you recall an NP axis for that was where my “strengths” lay?

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Basically the book described the “four temperaments” in lengthy essays. IIRC the book was titled “Please Understand Me”

The four temperaments are SJ, SP, NT, and NF. As you can see from that the J only matters that much if you’re an S; if you’re an N, the T or F matter much more than the S or P.

Each, of course, has four complete types, for NT temperaments you have INTP INTJ ENTP and ENTJ.

IIRC the NF essay talked about how these people were always trying to find themselves. But then, that’s an NT’s perspective on it.

Valerie Curren

Interesting. I would guess that if I tested now my “type” would be somewhat different with nearly 4 decades of living on top of what I’d had back then.

Given my strong NP tendencies back then I could perhaps have tested as INFP, ENFP, INTP, ENTP on any given day 🙂

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Except that “NP” isn’t a thing. Your being NT is more important than NP regardless of how strongly you scored P.

For some reason your comment makes me think of a mug slogan gifted to me from a guy on my “brother wing” in college:

I saw a GWP headline but haven’t delved into it. Things are almost never clear-cut.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

This “rule” that got shot down was actually the one to deal with the two big Trump items: The two pieces of legislation under consideration would have limited district judges’ ability to levy nationwide injunctions and mandated proof of citizenship to register to vote.

However they’d slipped in something else to forbid discussion of Luna’s bill, so she voted to kill it.

Now there’s nothing to be done because there’s no rule at all.

Big take away from this from the GWP coverage…

While the race was always expected to be a Republican hold, Democrats plowed over $9 million behind their candidate in the hope of riding a wave of anti-Trump backlash.

Those hopes have now been dashed. 😁

para59r

Inconclusive story so I Grok’d it to find out which cities. Meanwhile Russia is denying a bio attack. Major news agencies reporting on this are Daily Mail Online, Newsweek, Helsinki times, Pravda, and NDTV.

https://americafirstreport.com/has-a-biological-weapon-that-causes-people-to-cough-up-blood-been-released-inside-russia/

From Grok.

Conclusion
Based on available information, Moscow and St. Petersburg are the cities most frequently mentioned in connection with reports of people coughing up blood, derived from social media comments and news discussions. However, these reports lack official confirmation, and Russian health authorities attribute symptoms to known infections, denying a new outbreak. This discrepancy underscores the need for caution in interpreting social media-driven claims, especially in sensitive health contexts.
The controversy surrounding these reports, amplified by geopolitical tensions and the rapid spread of information online, suggests that further official data is necessary to clarify the situation. As of April 1, 2025, the evidence leans toward these being cases of existing respiratory conditions, but the public’s reliance on unofficial sources highlights ongoing challenges in health communication.

Key Citations

Just going to add that Moscow is within Drone range of Ukraine and St. Petersburg is next door. Meanwhile Finland which is one of the major outlets reporting on this are very close to St. Petersberg and Finland recently signed up with NATO. Other than that nothing to do but monitor for more news.

para59r

btw… NDTV is New Dehli TV (India) and all of these sources I would not consider to be “Social Media” as Grok suggests

BREAKING Elon Musk said they have identified who is orchestrating the attacks on Tesla.

WOAH FOX NEWS: “Do you know who the Generals are?”

ELON MUSK: “WE DO” 20+ YEARS MINIMUM IN PRISON

https://twitter.com/MAGAVoice/status/1907185675067367865

TheseTruths

Excellent news! From a GWP article:

“I Hope They See This Segment” — Elon Musk Reveals He and Team Trump Have Identified the “Generals” Orchestrating the Violent Tesla Attacks (VIDEO)

…During an interview on Fox News’s “The Five” on Tuesday, Musk called the attacks “wide-scale domestic terrorism” and said that innocent people were being hurt.

He then dropped a bombshell: he and Attorney General Pam Bondi know there are “generals” (those working behind the scenes) organizing the attacks on Tesla and that the Trump administration is “coming for them.”

Kennedy then asked Musk whether he knew the names of these generals.

“Do you know who they are? Do you know who those generals are?” Kennedy asked.

“We do,” Musk replied.

…Musk went on to agree with “The Five” co-host Jeanine Pirro that he hoped the Trump administration would pursue RICO charges against the organizers.

“These are serious crimes where the organizers of this mass violence will go to prison for a long time, and I hope they see the segment,” he added.

TGP previously reported that conservative activist Asra Nomani had compiled a list of 24 Democrat organizations along with their key leaders. She says they have a budget of $124 million and are behind the #TeslaTakedown campaign of violence.

Most of these groups claim tax-deductible status as “nonpartisan,” even though they are 100% Democrat-aligned—a possible violation of federal law.

It’s not clear these are the “generals” Musk is referring to, but America will soon learn the truth.

Wolf Moon

Good stuff. “Kennedy” could not hide her disappointment that her secret lefty friends were in trouble. Good times!!! 😂

kalbokalbs

It’ll be glorious watching arrests, persecutions prosecutions, guilt along with long sentences.

Even better, if the generals include Dumrat big money AND big name Dumrat politicians.

Well.
Just spoke with my sister. She and her husband got back after a trip to a cornea-transplant surgeon in Birmingham. Her husband needed to have a partial cornea transplant in one eye — the cornea he was born with was “misfolding.”
That’s right — “misfolding.”
Which smells suspiciously like the “misfolding” that can happen due to the mechanisms of the COVID-19 “vaccines.”
Here’s where Yours Truly is on the ongoing situation of “vaccinated” persons presenting with all kinds of things that are going wrong / have gone wrong, since they got the injections — especially in light of what happened to my brother:
While having sympathy, compassion, feeling badly, for what’s gone on / is going on, with the health of “vaccinated” family and friends — it’s time to start to process and understand that this is how life will be. This doesn’t mean that the non-“vaccinated” basically “walk away” from, or “take a large step away” from their “vaccinated” family and friends. It’s more a recognition of reality. A sad, painful reality.
A reality that was KNOWN to the FDA / the CDC / Pfizer-BioNTech / Moderna / Anthony Fauci / Francis Collins / Bill Gates, and all the others who unleashed the disaster of the COVID-19 “vaccines” on the world.

This is a long and scary read. I don’t agree with all of it, but I can see all of it as possible. If you’ve read about Fourth Turnings, it will make all kinds of sense to you. Here’s some of the first part:

“In my last Fourth Turning article, a few days before the presidential election, I stated Trump would win in a landslide, unless the Deep State pulled some outrageous stunt to steal it, like they did in 2020. Their cheating machines were unable to overcome the dementia dummy effect and running a vacuous cackling moron DEI candidate as Trump’s opponent. I also thought the ingrained opposition would use all their vast ill-gotten financial resources to pay for violent protests, if Trump won. The gutting of USAID has defunded the domestic terrorists and made their protests pathetic.

Trump’s overwhelming victory in the election and defeat of the illegal lawfare attacks from his Deep State enemies defused their ability to keep him from being inaugurated. And boy did he hit the ground running. His first 7 weeks in office have been a tornado of executive orders, shockingly bold cabinet picks, mass firings of government drones, deportations of illegals, tariff wars, threats to take over Greenland and Canada, confrontations with world leaders, war on DEI and woke bullshit policies within the government and at universities funded by the government, and unleashing Musk and his DOGE team on the Federal bureaucracy.

The dynamics of this Fourth Turning have begun to crystalize in my mind with the re-ascension of Trump to the most powerful position in the world, and now willing to wield his power on a far grander scale then he did during his first term. The previous two Fourth Turning presidents, during the Great Depression/World War II Fourth Turning and the Civil War Fourth Turning, acted like dictators, wielding their authoritarian powers, using war as the excuse for overstepping their Constitutionally granted authority.

Ruling by executive order has now become commonplace, as our Republic has degenerated into a corporate fascist totalitarian state where the spoils have been shared by the privileged few, while the rest of us have been propagandized into subjugation, depravity, debt, and debasement. Trump has assumed a dictatorial attitude, with the rationale that he must do so to defeat the evil forces of the Deep State, and more than 50% of the population is enthusiastically onboard.

There is generally no middle ground when it comes to Donald Trump. You either despise him and scream he is literally Hitler, or you worship him as the savior of America, leading us to a glorious renaissance. Personally, I find myself in the middle ground, based on what he has done, rather than what he says. I was disappointed in his first term, even though he did a number of good things. His personnel choices were awful, putting Barrett on the Supreme Court was a terrible selection, and locking down the country while making a deal with the devil (Fauci & Pfizer) to produce a toxic vaccine destined to kill far more than it saved, continues to be a massive blemish on his record. But what is done is done. Even the most skeptical cynic has to admit, there have been several positive developments in Trump’s second term.”

Well, that was fun. 😱
Food for thought, but I don’t agree with the author’s perspective on a number of things. For example:

You either despise him and scream he is literally Hitler, or you worship him as the savior of America, leading us to a glorious renaissance.

No, Trump is not Hitler (of course), and I do not worship him. I appreciate his intellect, capability, and patriotism.

It never hurts to be mentally and physically prepared, though. I think the author is correct that the atmosphere is so tense that something could set off huge trouble. We see it with the completely irrational behavior of Dems, and it fans out to international affairs.

Do not forget the Cabal has hidden weapons they still have not unleashed on the USA yet.

scott467

Then they should use them.

There’s no going back now.

Them or us.

Aubergine

I think that sentence you object to is just hyperbole. He is demonstrating the polarization of America. I agree with you, I am in neither camp, but I am strongly pro-Trump.

What interests me is the history of turnings in America, in which the President (or people in charge; there was no President in the Revolution) essentially ignored the judiciary. We are swiftly approaching that juncture, I believe. What happens after that will be interesting.

scott467

Typical blame everyone equally (the author) while pretending to remain above the fray by choosing the yellow coward middle ground.

Reminds me of Bill O’Reilly.

Reading the whole article helps.

I think the author is correct that the risk of much death and destruction is high, but IMO it is because the CABAL is responsible for perpetuation of the 80 year turnings, on which they feed and thrive.

This turning is about disempowering the Cabal. It may be different in some new ways.

Aubergine

Interesting take. I’ve always thought the Turnings were a reflection on human nature, and this:

“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”

Wolf Moon

Yes! Things can be both natural and humans can try to take control of it!

Aubergine

Sigh. Humans…

If they do, Europe will become a nuclear wasteland.

scott467

And that would make me very sad.

I will try to remember Europe graciously, when the history of their demise is written.

Gail Combs

Unfortunately I think the evil parasites will have already fled to New Zealand….

DRAT IT!

scott467

That will work fine.

They have no military, no navy, no army, no nothing besides their bunkers, where they hide like the cockroaches they are.

Blockade the country so they can’t leave, and drop bunker busters on them 24/7 until they are all trapped hundreds of feet underground.

Then the world celebrates international Independence Day.

Wolf Moon

I like it!

Cuppa Covfefe

Well, there are quite a few of us here, WHO DID NOT VOTE FOR THE IDJIOTS IN CHARGE (just as with Bye. Done.) who neither deserve nor wish to be nuked in any way, shape or form!!!!!!! 😡 😡 😡 😡

scott467

I know, and I don’t know what to do about that. The people in Europe have to rise up and overthrow the EU tyranny.

And they show zero inclination to do that, beyond protests which accomplish nothing (e.g. Brazil, France yellow vests, Canadia truckers, etc.)

They will not stop until they are physically stopped.

That’s where we were headed here, until Trump won.

cthulhu

Quit whining — it ain’t like getting nuked, nuked. It’s more like a gentle rain of radioactive isotopes.

scott467

Nothing will wake up the people of Europe faster!

Oleksiy Arestovych…it is interesting that the article doesn’t mention Arestovych’s position prior to his being a Senior Advisor to Zelensky. Arestovych was with the Ukraine Armed Forces and served as an intelligence officer in the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense prior to (and I would guess after) his advisor-ship with Zelensky.

para59r

So how do you win one and loose the other 🤔

cthulhu

Well, the #1 “go to” explanation is fraud.

There is also the Constitutional issue that the LEGISLATURE not the courts are in charge of voting.

These courts overstepping their place needs to get SWATTED DOWN HARD!

Constitution of the United States

Section 4

The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.

The Congress shall assemble at least once in every Year, and such Meeting shall be on the first Monday in December, unless they shall by Law appoint a different Day.

Section 5

Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members, and a Majority of each shall constitute a Quorum to do Business; but a smaller Number may adjourn from day to day, and may be authorized to compel the Attendance of absent Members, in such Manner, and under such Penalties as each House may provide.

Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, punish its Members for disorderly Behaviour, and, with the Concurrence of two thirds, expel a Member.

Each House shall keep a Journal of its Proceedings, and from time to time publish the same, excepting such Parts as may in their Judgment require Secrecy; and the Yeas and Nays of the Members of either House on any question shall, at the Desire of one fifth of those Present, be entered on the Journal.

Neither House, during the Session of Congress, shall, without the Consent of the other, adjourn for more than three days, nor to any other Place than that in which the two Houses shall be sitting.

I see NOTHING in the above that says a JUDGE can over rule the legislature OR the Constitution.

AND If you really want to get down to it. A JUDGE has no real constitutional authority to begin with!

“In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved.…” ~ Amendment VII

Right to Jury in Civil Cases

Toward the end of the Constitutional Convention, Hugh Williamson of North Carolina noted that “no provision was yet made for juries in civil cases and suggested the necessity of it.”…..

The Seventh Amendment, passed by the First Congress without debate, cured the omission by declaring that the right to a jury trial shall be preserved in common-law cases, thus leaving the traditional distinction between cases at law and those in equity or admiralty, where there normally was no jury. The implied distinction parallels the explicit division of federal judicial authority in Article III to cases (1) in law, (2) in equity, and (3) in admiralty and maritime jurisdiction. The contemporaneously passed Judiciary Act of 1789 similarly provided that “the trial of issues of fact, in the district courts, in all causes except civil causes of admiralty and maritime jurisdiction, shall be by jury.” As Justice Joseph Story later explained in Parsons v. Bedford (1830): “In a just sense, the amendment then may well be construed to embrace all suits which are not of equity and admiralty jurisdiction, whatever may be the peculiar form which they may assume to settle legal rights.”

The Supreme Court has, however, arrived at a more limited interpretation. It applies the amendment’s guarantee to the kinds of cases that “existed under the English common law when the amendment was adopted,” Baltimore & Carolina Line v. Redman (1935), or to newly developed rights that can be analogized to what existed at that time, Luria v. United States (1913), Curtis v. Loether (1974). Accordingly, in a series of decisions in the second half of the twentieth century, the Supreme Court ruled that the Seventh Amendment guarantees the right to trial by jury in procedurally novel settings, like declaratory judgment actions, Beacon Theatres v. Westover (1959), and shareholder derivative suits, Ross v. Bernhard (1970). The Court also applied the amendment to cases adjudicating newly created statutory rights, Curtis v. Loether, Pernell v. Southall Realty (1974). In addition, the Supreme Court has ruled unanimously that when factually overlapping “legal” and “equitable” claims are joined together in the same action, the Seventh Amendment requires that the former be adjudicated first (by a jury); and that when legal claims triable to a jury are erroneously dismissed, relitigation of the entire action is “essential to vindicating [the plaintiff’s] Seventh Amendment rights.” Lytle v. Household Manufacturing, Inc. (1990).

The right to trial by jury is not constitutionally guaranteed in certain classes of civil cases that are concededly “suits at common law,” particularly when “public” or governmental rights are at issue and if one cannot find eighteenth-century precedent for jury participation in those cases. Atlas Roofing Co. v. Occupational Safety & Health Review Commission (1977). Thus, Congress can lodge personal and property claims against the United States in non-Article III courts with no jury component. In addition, where practice as it existed in 1791 “provides no clear answer,” the rule is that “[o]nly those incidents which are regarded as fundamental, as inherent in and of the essence of the system of trial by jury, are placed beyond the reach of the legislature.” Markman v. Westview Instruments (1996). In those situations, too, the Seventh Amendment does not restrain congressional choice….

So there went our last constraint on the Federal government. Without a trial by jury we lost our RIGHT to overrule idiotic laws and regulations.
