Hearts of Courage.
Some grow in courage over time, others find their courage appears in the moment of need.
When is comes to hearts of courage, there are some who truly stand out for me. They have stood by their principles, even when judges let them know that their stand was going to get them thrown in jail. There are likely many more that deserve to be highlighted. But tonight, let us remember Gregg Phillips, Catherine Engelbrecht, and Tina Peters, who have done time for the stand they took.

On Monday, March 3rd, the Deep State Dam began to crack open upon news the DOJ just filed a Statement of Interest in the case of Tina Peters. Read more commentary about that HERE. Accompanying this news was a spectacular throw down by Mike Davis from the Article III Project who revealed the corruption which led to the persecution, prosecution and imprisoning of Tina Peters for 9 years.
Now is the time for everyone to learn the real story about the dystopian abuse of Tina Peters. At the center of that is understanding why they would go to such extremes to frame, persecute, prosecute and imprison a near 70 year age Gold Star Mom who lost her Navy SEAL Son during service to his country. Without as much as a J-Walking ticket, or any ticket for that matter, the judge heartlessly sentenced Tina to what very well could be a death sentence for standing up and doing her sworn duty to preserve her election records. As described by Mike Davis, she was sentenced for “thought crimes”.
Well, it’s safe to say that the Deep State sure didn’t like Clerk Peters preserving those election records under her jurisdiction (all 29,000 of them) that they thought were successfully deleted at the direction of the Colorado Secretary of State. That deletion along with the other vulnerabilities are discussed on her website, https://tinapeters.us/ along with her forensic reports that delve into extreme detail on all the discoveries made by the forensic computer scientists.
Our DOJ, last month, has made a Statement of Interest (read more: The Gateway Pundit):
This review will include an evaluation of the State of Colorado’s prosecution of Ms. Peters and, in particular, whether the case was “oriented more toward inflicting political pain than toward pursuing actual justice or legitimate governmental objectives.”
Ms. Peters is currently incarcerated while pursuing a direct appeal of her underlying nonviolent convictions and combined nine-year sentence.
The application explains that Ms. Peters suffers from serious health issues and that, while incarcerated, her physical and mental health have deteriorated. Reasonable concerns have been raised about various aspects of Ms. Peters’ case.
These concerns relate to, among other things, the exceptionally lengthy sentence imposed relative to the conduct at issue, the First Amendment implications of the trial court’s October 2024 assertions related to Ms. Peters, and whether Colorado’s denial of bail pending appeal was arbitrary or unreasonable under the Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments such that §2254 relief is appropriate.
Accordingly, the United States respectfully submits that the concerns raised in the Application warrant – at the very least – prompt and careful consideration by this Court (and, at the appropriate time, the Colorado appellate courts).
Parallel to these proceedings and Ms. Peters’ direct appeal, the Department of Justice is reviewing cases across the nation for abuses of the criminal justice process…

I know of an older fellow that was a very successful chemist. He developed some really amazing skin creams, but didn’t want to waste his life fighting the FDA. So he took it to Asia and partnered with business types to sell it via a MLM arrangement. It did very well. I think we got some samples.

Good stuff. Tina Peters is a case that really burns me up. Here is a woman who took her job so seriously, she performed it above and beyond the legal requirements – and she was punished for doing so, by people who PRETEND that she was a criminal, when THEY are the criminals she was investigating.
If we had a functioning “60 Minutes” – THEY would have been investigating this prosecution and supporting Tina Peters. THEY would have then pursued the scandal of compromised electronic voting in Colorado.

I found it interesting how all the usual pejoratives are stacked a mile high in the shiffty-scandal-stream media articles about her. I’m guessing if you collected the names of the people and institutions that hid the truth of her case, and used @DataRepulican’s tools, you could “follow the money” all the way back to Adam Schiff.

Those women likely seemed like a source of support for Peters, and they had to shut that stuff down fast.

Saw it happen once. Fresh out of Infantry Advanced Individual Training while sitting on the bleachers at Ft. Benning as part of a demonstration for our first day of parachute training (class of about 200) . One of the five sky divers, a chaplain had something go wrong with his main, so he cut it away and pulled the reserve. However only half the main was cut away as one riser was still connected to his harness and the reserve became entangled in the the remainder of the main and he came down like a streamer and bounced off the roof of a car in the parking lot of Building 4, a fair distance away. We thought it was some kind of joke until the other four sky divers all landed and began running to parking lot.
Has no idea why they did a free fall demonstration for us when we were training to be static line jumpers. About half the class terminated after seeing that. I kind of think because of that, they took it easy on the rest of our class during the next three weeks of training.
Something similar happened when I reached my Infantry company at Ft. Bragg. They set up a day of repel training for us. When you rope repel, you normally break a few times on the way down. This guy doing the first repel demonstration tried to hot dog it and come down with just one break that would leave him standing at ground level. However he did not account for the rope stretching and busted his tail bone and was taken away in an ambulance. Looked rather painful. I made sure to break at least three times when it was my turn. Meanwhile both of those two things are safer than driving a car.

Sounds like they were using mountain climbing rope which has a lot of stretch. It is designed to catch a falling climber without doing major damage.
Caving ropes have as close to ZERO stretch as you can get.
Nothing like doing a deep cave repell, only to repell off the end and have the rope contract out of reach.
We also tie a foot loop in the bottom of the rope. That way you do not repell off the end AND if you find the rope is too short you can use the loop to help you as you change from repelling gear to climbing gear.

Problem here is, “right click” is wonky AND unreliable.

Good! Copy and paste going wrong is usually a deep problem. Always complicated, even when working normally. People expect many different things – software tries to provide, and fails.
Both Firefox and Brave work nicely for me, although the beta and nightly (alpha) versions of both can have wonky stuff happen more frequently, and one needs to be ready to jump to a stable (normal) version, or the other browser.
Right-click, copy, paste are basic browser functions. May actually be a mouse issue.
Spell-check is typically an add-on (so you can spell-check in Urdu or Finnish) — Firefox has more add-ons than you can shake a stick at — try ctl-shift-a .

guessing a recent Firefox update screwed up something. I had a common issue, once I search around a bit.
Browsers are tricky.
All that stuff they tell you about hackers getting into your software and screwing things up……about 60% are browsers (and another 25% are emails)…..
So browsers need to be updated to the most current versions to keep the scum away.
But every time I get “ding! a new browser update is available!”, my heart just sinks because it frequently screws up something that used to work.
So, most of my mice are generic USB optical mice. A large number of my computers run “headless”, so don’t normally have a mouse attached — so I’m often grabbing one (sometimes from another computer) and plugging it in where needed. And some computers just don’t like certain mice.
This is particularly with my Raspberry Pi computers, probably because they’re underpowered.
From the depths of time in electronics, “Transistor-Transistor Logic” — AKA TTL — has run on voltages of 0 and +5.
Raspberry Pi computers run at 0 and +3.3. It’s how they can run a Linux computer on less power than a nightlight. But it means they have to reach to drive a USB port (which uses 0 and +5V). It also means you can’t use a disk drive with a Pi if the disk doesn’t have its own power supply.
I still use a big Logitech usb wired mouse (ball on the bottom, scroll wheel in the middle with button on each side of the scroll wheel plus a thumb button), it fits the contour of your hand, so your whole hand can rest on it.
I think I got my first one back around 1995. If it ain’t broke, I can’t figure out any good reason to fix it
They probably haven’t made this model in 20+ years, but new-in-box examples come up on eBay often enough that I can still get them when the one I have wears out or stops working.

I tried it earlier this morning and it’s still happening with me.
Then I got rid of the snap firefox and replaced it with the ordinary one, whatever it’s called, and it’s working ok sans pop up.
My stuck pop-up resolved itself after a few hours.
I haven’t had the problem last long enough that I could do a complete debug on it, so I still don’t know the cause.
It’s always the operator.

On this computer, I’m running “native” firefox. Other computers around the house use the snap version, but I seldom use them to browse. I certainly don’t have hundreds of open tabs on them.
This is pretty good, till something goes wrong, I just c/p all the instructions on here, then prior to opening the browser one right clicks the icon and choose “open profile manager” and one can choose between the snap and the ordinary version of firefox, both being available.

A quick insomnia break —
“Linux” has a bunch of flavors, called “distros” (from Linux Distribution). A distro maintains a “repo”, which is short for “repository”. A repo contains a curated set of packages, which contain the software that you run all the time. Each distro has a package manager, which is a specialized piece of software that interfaces with repos (including security) and compares your local software with the master copy that’s in the repo. With the package manager, you can update all of your versions to the master version (most common), downgrade a package to an old one that works, install a new package, sideload a version from somewhere else, make sure that none of yours depend on something you don’t yet have, or get rid of ones that you no longer need.
If your distro is related to Debian, you use deb packages — the package manager is dpkg, but you normally use apt to talk to it. If your distro is related to Fedora, you use rpm packages — the package manager is rpm, but you probably use dnf to talk to it.
It is normal for your system to run with 50,000 or so packages. That’s why package managers are important. There is a way to ask apt how many packages are on this system, but I trust apt to keep track of them.
Debian’s repositories contain complete collections of packages available within Debian. Ubuntu recompiles Debian files so that they match Ubuntu quality standards. When Ubuntu says “change from upstream” about a package, they have a new Debian version that they are implementing. Ubuntu’s repositories contain complete collections of packages available within Debian.
Mint does something different. They explicitly use Ubuntu repositories for all Ubuntu packages, except when they have a Mint version. Mint’s repositories do NOT contain complete collections of packages available within Mint.
When Ubuntu changed Firefox into a snap, Mint did not go along. Instead, they have a Mint version of Firefox that is loaded instead of Ubuntu’s snap version, based on Debian’s version.
This is an example of a changelog entry in Ubuntu:
For this change, Debian has changed to version 2:21.1.4-2, but Ubuntu had already implemented many of the security patches. In order to synchronize the Debian and Ubuntu versions, Ubuntu is taking the new Debian version, implementing the security patches that Debian has not yet done, and dropping all the security patches that Debian just did. Further, it’s compiled Ubuntu style, which is why the new version is 2:21.1.4-2ubuntu1.
Note that the guy who did it is Timo Aaltonen, who has a Debian email address, despite being able to make changes to Ubuntu repo packages.
Also, there are probably about 200,000 packages in the repo vs. about 50,000 packages on your machine.
And they’re all stuck at DHL (or DH HELL)…..

My current leading hypothesis is that it’s two odd things happening together.
Sort of like trying to set bold, then underline (which you’d normally turn off by saying /underline, then /bold), then trying to turn off something out-of-turn.
Trying to make this more obvious — normal is b, u, then /u, /b. Trying to go b, u, /b, /u might leave you someplace weird. But I’m not thinking of simple font directives, I’m thinking of something in the browser that’s supposed to get tickled by WordPiss.

Just The News: “The Dallas Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) team on Wednesday announced it had arrested a Texas man for making threats against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
The arrest comes days after Noem warned Americans against threatening law enforcement officers, stating that anyone who does would be found and prosecuted “to the fullest extent of the law.”
The Dallas HSI team identified the man as Robert King, a U.S. citizen, who was arrested in McKinney, Texas. “King’s alarming social media posts included intentions to ‘open fire’ if agents are seen in his neighborhood,” the office said.
Some of the social media posts claimed that ICE agents were not “real cops” and have “no real authority,” according to Fox News. It is not clear what the threats to Noem entailed. “Like Secretary Noem said: If you threaten or attempt to harm a law enforcement officer we will find you and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law. Promises made, promises kept,” a Department of Homeland Security official told the outlet.
The arrest comes the day after 40 people with alleged ties to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua were arrested in Texas.”

When the “COVID-19 Emergency” was “ended”, there was a loophole written on to the document which states that the FDA can still declare that ANYTHING related to COVID-19 “countermeasures” were to BE KEPT UNDER EUA.
This means that the COVID-19 “vaccines”, Remdesivir, using ventilators, etc, are all STILL under EUA.
IIRC, this is the case UNTIL DECEMBER 2029.
The “extension” of the COVID-19 “countermeasures” EUA “extension” was signed by then-HHS secretary Becerra in December 2024.
Then the new HHS secretary can reverse it.

So they are expecting 175 people? LOL. Just our little town, excluding the surrounding rural area, is 3600 people. So they’re getting 175 morons, tops.

I went and looked at the protest today, and it was very strange.
There were about 150-175 people along the main street intersection, on all four corners. None of them had the professionally printed signs (?). Weird. All the signs were handmade.
I passed by going to the grocery store. When I came back through about 20 minutes later, I saw some of them walking along the main road, and turning off down a side street.
About an hour later, I went back to see if the crowd had grown any. THERE WAS NOBODY THERE. They had all just vanished!
So I drove around the town. I saw a group that looked like a small counter-protest maybe (I saw a “We need DOGE” sign as I passed. But I saw other signs that were negative, so I don’t know. But there were only about 30-40 people there.
All in all, it was really, really strange. I am going to try to find out more from other people when I can.

Stellantis, an EU centered auto company who sell Dodge, Ram (made in Mexico) and Dodge, Durango (made in Canada), have been in a deepening crisis for over a year as a result of poor brand management, poor development and weak North American sales. In short, their cars and trucks are not selling, that’s why the CEO quit in December, and they fired and replaced the North American leadership team. It has nothing to do with Trump’s auto tariffs against Mexico and Canada.
That said, Mark Carney used the Stellantis plant closing (Windsor) as cover to announce that Canada would match the auto-tariffs with a 25% countervailing duty against all U.S. made cars and trucks. [Prompted]

This approach only raises the ceiling for the U.S. tariffs against Canada. Quite frankly, I’m not sure why President Trump would continue to play this game with Carney and should (for the sake of simplicity) just cancel all trade with Canada and begin an immediate embargo and border blockade.
Tell the Carney clown to stay at home, shut it all down and let the Canadians live as a sovereign nation under the rule and regulation of the EU while they continue to destroy their energy resources and import foreign workers. It’s silly to keep entertaining Canada as if they really matter.
If it wasn’t for the national security threat they could represent on our border, Canada would likely get little policy attention from any administration.

Worse still, JetPack (Meaning Matt McLefty at WordPressDotCom) had ALREADY INSTALLED THIS AND TURNED IT ON – then sent me that email today. This means that WordPress already took everybody’s password, even though I turned off the feature just now.
Most of us log into here using our WordPress passwords, which WordPress obviously already has in their possession. But for guests who are not signing in with a WordPress account and password, this means that I would be handing over THEIR password and email address to WordPress *LEGALLY*.

Probably means you can’t defend the site from a break-in to any of the author accounts on the site. And having us all change our passwords gives us little reassurance they aren’t collecting on the sly anyway.
Authors (everybody, really) have been monitored by the “white hats” (the Q folks) since the beginning of this site, as far as I can tell. Others have made a variety of attempts to gain similar access, or to create pretenses that I did something to let them in.
What WordPress/MattTheRat just did was a very obvious Deep State ploy to legitimize what they were likely already doing. It is very sneaky to change a plugin to “automatically share your passwords with us, so we can help you protect them” – and to install that plugin with the feature set to “on”.
No, we are not allowing third parties to inspect our passwords. “They” already know our passwords.
I have turned the feature off, so that people CAN change their passwords. But it will not change the fact that some parties are already able to watch everything we do here, including what authors are doing.

In regards to this topic, the question has been raised, whether deleting one’s account here deletes everything related to the account from whatever it is stored in.
This question was actually asked and addressed years ago, when GDPR started.
We do NOT comply with GDPR here – nor with any European or other foreign demands for compliance with foreign laws. This has two primary effects.
One is that we retain everything input into the site as EVIDENCE. Nothing is deleted beyond what you are able to delete immediately and the system does not remember.
If you publish your thoughts here, you are committed to them. It’s called FREEDOM and RESPONSIBILITY. Enjoy them, but realize that they are dialed up to 11 on the Braveheart index.
It is PAINFUL for me to delete things, as a reminder of the reasons why I don’t.
The other is that we do not provide anybody with any information, public or not public, and what is public, they have to get on their own – we don’t provide any convenience services by answering legal or illegal demands. Thus, foreign governments can TAKE DATA by stealth and force, but they cannot force us into covering up their illegal spying activities by “giving” them data they already have.
We have also warned governments (including our own) that we will immediately publish their immoral and un-Constitutional demands for secret bullshit. Why? Because government agencies are already watching everything we do here – likely every keystroke – even stuff people think they are deleting. Any demands are thus bullshit used for the lie of highly immoral and un-Constitutional “parallel construction”.

The author writes something, hopefully interesting. And then the comment count has nearly zero to do with that content, in comparison to what is really discussed, which is mainly driven by the news cycle, the quality of the memes, and the regular banter of the regulars.

As you note, the number of the Leo has little to do with the content of the post. But having someone watching the number to try to get the biggest Leo possible is just a roundabout way of showing one cares. This is especially true because comments do the microwave popcorn thing of popping a little, then a lot, then a little again — and you want to not do a cutoff too early.
In large part, the issue is moot because it originally was tailored to absentee authors. If you’re around and talking to commenters, then doing little games about comment counts is just random foolishness. Interaction will give you much better feedback.
And I hope you are not sorry about that.
There is no doubt in my mind that you care a lot and it shows. 
“Bad form” is not high on my list of considerations. “True” has much higher priority.
BTW, I have put “Leo” on ANY post that needs it, when the urge strikes me! Feel free to do that, too.
