On this day and every day –

God is in Control
. . . and His Grace is Sufficient, so . . .
Keep Looking Up

Hopefully, every Sunday, we can find something here that will build us up a little . . . give us a smile . . . and add some joy or peace, very much needed in all our lives.

“This day is holy to the Lord your God;
do not mourn nor weep.” . . .
“Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet,
and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared;
for this day is holy to our Lord.
Do not sorrow,
for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Guardian Angels

Matthew 18:10 states, “See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.” In the context, “these little ones” could either apply to those who believe in Him (v. 6) or it could refer to the little children (vs. 3-5). This is the key passage regarding guardian angels. There is no doubt that good angels help protect (Daniel 6:20-23; 2 Kings 6:13-17), reveal information (Acts 7:52-53; Luke 1:11-20), guide (Matthew 1:20-21; Acts 8:26), provide for (Genesis 21:17-20; 1 Kings 19:5-7), and minister to believers in general (Hebrews 1:14).

The question is whether each person—or each believer—has an angel assigned to him/her. In the Old Testament, the nation of Israel had the archangel (Michael) assigned to it (Daniel 10:21; 12:1), but Scripture nowhere states that an angel is “assigned” to an individual (angels were sometimes sent to individuals, but there is no mention of permanent assignment). The Jews fully developed the belief in guardian angels during the time between the Old and New Testament periods. Some early church fathers believed that each person had not only a good angel assigned to him/her, but a demon as well. The belief in guardian angels has been around for a long time, but there is no explicit scriptural basis for it.

To return to Matthew 18:10, the word “their” is a collective pronoun in the Greek and refers to the fact that believers are served by angels in general. These angels are pictured as “always” watching the face of God so as to hear His command to them to help a believer when it is needed. The angels in this passage do not seem to be guarding a person so much as being attentive to the Father in heaven. The active duty or oversight seems, then, to come more from God than from the angels, which makes perfect sense because God alone is omniscient. He sees every believer at every moment, and He alone knows when one of us needs the intervention of an angel. Because they are continually seeing His face, the angels are at His disposal to help one of His “little ones.”

It cannot be emphatically answered from Scripture whether or not each believer has a guardian angel assigned to him/her. But, as stated earlier, God does use angels in ministering to us. It is scriptural to say that He uses them as He uses us; that is, He in no way needs us or them to accomplish His purposes, but chooses to use us and them nevertheless (Hebrews 1:7). In the end, whether or not we have an angel assigned to protect us, we have an even greater assurance from God: if we are His children through faith in Christ, He works all things together for good (Romans 8:28-30), and Jesus Christ will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5-6). If we have an omniscient, omnipotent, all-loving God with us, does it really matter whether or not there is a finite guardian angel protecting us?

Also apropos of flat earth, here’s an interview with Jeran where he discusses the psychology of being in the movement and breaking out.

Gudthots

Very interesting observations by Jeran on confirmation bias’s power to block information from changing your viewpoint.

Wolf Moon

This is great!

But I want to say to “light-loafer skeptic”

VACCINES WORK
BAD VACCINES WORK BADLY

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Yeah, I had forgotten about his T-shirt. Which I think says something about chemtrails too.

Wolf Moon

Yeah, that’s a rat’s nest, too. I constantly debunk (IRL) chemtrails that are obviously just contrails – but then I bite my tongue on why not all trails in the sky are equal. A little knowledge isn’t just dangerous – it can be a curse. I feel like the pawn shop guy. “Chemtrails proven? Best I can do is Trust The Plan.”

Not every “rational thinker” is operating on all the facts.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Indeed. You can have a perfectly ordered thought process, but if you are missing information, you won’t get to the right place.

One theme of Atlas Shrugged is the notion that there can be no contradictions in reality, and if you think you see one, you need to check your premises. In fact the first two or even two and a half parts of the book could be looked at as largely being about Dagny Taggart and Hank Rearden having to find their false premises.

Valerie Curren

I need to read those some day, & perhaps see the movies (that are sure to be lesser than the books)…

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

They are much lesser than the books. Enough so you’ll likely be frustrated.

The people making the movies were allergic to making any movie over 90 minutes. The problem is, like Lord of the Rings, they had to be longer to have a ghost of a chance of being adequate. I think it would take nine hours total to do a good job with Atlas Shrugged. And in many cases the movies left out the essentials, they don’t make the point the book was trying to make.

However the movies were apparently enough to make some people want to read the book, and that’s a win. It’s long, but not a tough read except for one stretch that seems pointlessly drawn out and repetitive (but on much more careful analysis, really isn’t)–can’t say more without spoiling.

Another example, Starship Troopers by Heinlein was not actually about having a bunch of guys running around in powersuits killing aliens, even though that’s what was going on in the book as backdrop to the actual point. But the movie was about that, and thus was a parody of the book. (And I guess they made sequels to the movie…yuck.)

Valerie Curren

TY I haven’t read Heinlein since like Junior High. My poor Son-in-Law was shown the lame Starship Troopers movie at a young pre-adolescent age & likely scarred from the experience, sadly.

I much prefer to read than watch a movie but there are some movies done so well, & Peter Jackson’s LoTR stuff is in that category, that they are instant family classics!

cthulhu

Moon is a Harsh Mistress should be on your imminent recommended reads list!

Psalms 27
Of David.

1 The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall.

3 Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.

4 One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.

5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.

6 Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.

7 Hear my voice when I call, LORD; be merciful to me and answer me.

8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, LORD, I will seek.

9 Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, God my Savior.

10 Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.

11 Teach me your way, LORD; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.

12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, spouting malicious accusations.

13 I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

14 Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

ONLY THE WEAK R-CONS WILL FAIL.

Many R-Cons need to grow a spine. Stand for America First. Team Effort Required.

Trump will do the heavy lifting.

R-Cons have some simple legislation that must pass.

I do believe, we’ll make it.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Here’s Levin (whom I normally have little use for) putting Trump’s economic policies together.

pgroup2

I also have little use for him. Good to know we’re kindred spirits on that.

Gail Combs

I also have little use for him. ESPECIALLY WHEN HE LIES BY OMISSION!

Reagan was NO FRIEND to AMERICAN BUSINESS!!!!

Whether you blame the leveraged buyout feeding frenzies of the 80’s or the World Trade Organization “Free Trade” agreement of the 90’s the result is the same America has been quietly sold off piece by piece.

REAGAN’S CONTRIBUTION:

Under Reagan

…A leveraged buyout (or LBO, or highly-leveraged transaction (HLT), or “bootstrap” transaction) occurs when an investor, typically financial sponsor, acquires a controlling interest in a company’s equity and where a significant percentage of the purchase price is financed through leverage (borrowing). 👉The assets of the acquired company are used as collateral for the borrowed capital, sometimes with assets of the acquiring company. Typically, leveraged buyout uses a combination of various debt instruments from bank and debt capital markets…

The leveraged buyout boom of the 1980s was conceived by a number of corporate financiers, most notably Jerome Kohlberg, Jr. and later his protégé Henry Kravis. Working for Bear Stearns at the time, Kohlberg and Kravis, along with Kravis’ cousin George Roberts, began a series of what they described as “bootstrap” investments…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leveraged_buyout

What they did was take corporations WHO HAD NO DEBT, like the one I worked for, 👉 borrowed against the assets — THAT THEY DID NOT OWN!!👈 — and used that money to buy stock in the corporation so they could take control.

(I do not know why this was not ILLEGAL!)

…Both economic and regulatory factors combined to spur the explosion in large takeovers and, in turn, large LBOs.

The three regulatory factors were the Reagan administration’s relatively laissez-faire policies on antitrust and securities laws, which allowed mergers the government would have challenged in earlier years; the 1982 Supreme Court decision striking down state antitakeover laws (which were resurrected with great effectiveness in the late eighties); and deregulation of many industries, which prompted restructurings and mergers.

The main economic factor was the development of the original-issue high-yield debt instrument. The so-called “junk bond” innovation, pioneered by Michael Milken of Drexel Burnham, provided many hostile bidders and LBO firms with the enormous amounts of capital needed to finance multi-billion-dollar deals…. http://www.econlib.org/library/Enc1/TakeoversandLeveragedBuyouts.html

This led to a feeding frenzy that was started

..In January 1982, [by] former US Secretary of the Treasury William Simon and a group of investors [who] acquired Gibson Greetings, a producer of greeting cards, for $80 million, of which only $1 million was rumored to have been contributed by the investors. By mid-1983, just sixteen months after the original deal, Gibson completed a $290 million IPO and Simon made approximately $66 million.The success of the Gibson Greetings investment attracted the attention of the wider media to the nascent boom in leveraged buyouts.Between 1979 and 1989, it was estimated that there were over 2,000 leveraged buyouts valued in excess of $250 billion…..WIKI

This is a sampling of the industries with over 50% foreign ownership, according to Source Watch 2008 http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Foreign_ownership_of_U.S._corporations

* Sound recording industries – 97%

Nursing home residents were angrily, openly dissing Trump, JD and Elon tonight at dinner. I was shocked. This is political hardball by a combination of media, DNC, Soros, and left activists. They have taken “scare the elderly” to shocking new levels – almost criminal, IMO.

Aubergine

Yep. Mostly old people in the crowd yesterday here.

Older people generally lack understanding of the internet and the digital sphere anyway. And that is being exploited.

The Demoncrats are no different than the scammers calling seniors and stealing from them by various means. They are evil.

If Trump were wise, he would be contacting all state RNC operatives to organize and begin an offensive against this. Send people with a script directly into nursing homes, churches, senior centers, and the like, to reassure these people. There should be non-stop PSA’s on radio and TV that Social Security and Medicare are SAFE.

Wolf Moon

So you saw it, too! More evidence. (Note that I was ready to modify my theory, if needed, to account for the opposite result.)

Agreed with your analysis completely. Even among the cyber-literate oldsters, outside of places like this, that we are used to, it’s mostly a bit “AOL” and “Windows 95” in mentality.

Sad to say, my wife actually knows people who fall for (and have fallen for) Indian call center scammers – and when they didn’t get suckered, it’s because the victims were too incompetent to even go along with the scam.

Yes – the Dems are now the very people they warned the elderly about! Clearly they are in “existential defense mode”!

I was wondering if Trump needs “fireside chats” with these people, to talk them off the ledge. I have found that a calm, rational, and sympathetic response, that doesn’t cast too much blame on the left, works in reassuring people that the insane things they fear are not going to happen.

At the same time, I highly recommend turning OFF the fake news in the rooms of people in nursing homes. The media is openly assisting this strategy. Pocahontas is directly assisting – check her tweets.

They’re wicked scammers – absolutely.

In order for the fireside chat to reach them, they’d have to see it on legacy TV. And your next paragraph identifies the problem with that.

I don’t know what the solution is but I know ignoring this isn’t part of it.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Here’s a possible solution though it comes with some risks.

Since the misinformation is causing active criminal acts, Trump could possibly demand time from all of the networks and give an actual Oval Office speech condemning the people spreading lies and setting the record straight. Just say that he has no intention of touching SS or Medicare and condemn those who say otherwise as liars. (Don’t go into a stump speech, bragging about his accomplishments. Just set the record straight.)

Gudthots

Absolutely.
It is a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY at this point.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

To make it work, Trump must be wearing his Commander in Chief hat; his only concern being the safety of the United States. If he starts bragging about his policies or about his prior term, it’s a campaign speech, and he will be condemned for forcing the networks to broadcast it.

In essence he’d be there to try to counter incitement to riot.

Very interesting!

singingsoul1

I noticed dems have recouped and hitting their agendas. Lots of psy ops on the Internet specially You Tube. The people who fall for it are already in their camp. One cannot change their mind not even talk to them it is like a disease. I have met old people with dems mindset many ex military . The hate for Trump is real or Musk . Sometimes I believe it is envy against people with money. Maybe they feel they never had a shot of being rich or were denied by a system. I do not understand envy never have. To be satisfied with what one has is a peaceful life for me.
Maybe there is more broken families broken faith looking back on life and finding a goat to blame.

Aubergine

I think all of the above is true. And I am content with what I have, too. It is far more peaceful.

singingsoul1

Yes it is.

A story from Dessert Monks
” A man decided to live in the desert among monks.
After a couple of weeks the man kept looking at nights at the light from the city far away. The man began to fantasize and he began to feel sorry for himself . He thought of the life he left behind and wondered what his friends were doing living the good life. Envy took over his mind and body and then he lost his mind.”
Never be envious of others it will take peace and happiness.
The Bible gives us sound life lessons. :wpds_smile:

Exodus 20:17 and Deuteronomy 5:21, states “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, or his ox or donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s,” emphasizing the importance of respecting others’ possessions and avoiding envy

This needs to happen in Texas (From X.com):
“The Montana Republican Party has kicked 9 Republican Senators out of the party…
For continually voting w/Dems & “undermining Republican priorities & leadership.”
They will not receive funding or recognition from the @MTGOP
in the future
The MTGOP asks the media & public not to refer to them as Republicans.”
If this were threatened to them by TX GOP, they would have never given Dems chairmanships etc. in the first place. Total betrayal to their conservative voters who voted them in.
So now I know who is in on this play against Texas conservatives as well, its the TEXAS GOP!!! Hope the Trump

Boasberg’s BROTHER is on the State Dept’s budget–running a school in Singapore

article

Independent journalist Laura Loomer has had some big scoops lately. Her most recent is just as juicy and potentially very impactful as corrupt anti-Trump Chief Judge James E. Boasberg’s brother hits her spotlight.

As she noted on X, “Judge Boasberg’s Brother, a former associate at Covington & Burling, Hired Illegal Aliens to Teach American Students, Now He Runs A School In Singapore Promoted By The US State Department.

   🚨 EXCLUSIVE 🚨

   Judge Boasberg’s Brother, a former associate at Covington & Burling, Hired Illegal Aliens to Teach American Students, Now He Runs A School In Singapore Promoted By The US State Department

   — Laura Loomer (@LauraLoomer) April 5, 2025

Trending: Democrats Activate NGO Machine for Weekend Color Revolution Operation Against Trump

According to her post:

   I have discovered another shocking conflict of interest involving Judge James Boasberg, who recently threatened to hold Trump administration officials in contempt for failing to provide flight information related to the deportation of illegal Venezuelan gang members belonging to the notorious Tren de Aragua gang. The judge’s brother, Tom Boasberg, a fluent Chinese speaker and former superintendent of Denver Public Schools (DPS) for a decade, hired illegal aliens on DACA to teach in Colorado schools during his tenure.

   A review of Tom Boasberg’s professional background reveals he was an associate at Covington & Burling. On February 25, 2025, President Donald J. Trump signed a memorandum to suspend security clearances for Covington & Burling LLP employees involved in the weaponization of government, pending a review of their roles and responsibility in the weaponization of the judicial process.

   Adding to the controversy, the US State Department @StateDept is currently promoting the Singapore American School, where Tom Boasberg now serves as superintendent, on its official website. This raises questions about the government’s endorsement of an institution led by an individual with a history of employing undocumented immigrants.

   Colorado has seen a significant presence of the Tren de Aragua Venezuelan gang, with ICE actively searching for members who have reportedly taken over apartment complexes in the state while illegally possessing high-powered weapons.

   Judge Boasberg’s recent threat to hold Trump officials in contempt comes amid the Trump administration’s efforts to deport these gang members.

   The judge’s handling of the case involving President Trump’s deportation flights of illegal immigrants has been called into question, especially given his family’s ties to pro-immigration causes.

   As I exclusively reported several weeks ago, Judge Boasberg’s daughter Katharine Boasberg works for the radical Leftist group called “Partners for Justice @PFJ_USA”, a non-profit organization known for its advocacy on behalf of illegal aliens.

   Meanwhile, Judge Boasberg’s brother’s actions in hiring undocumented immigrants to teach in Colorado schools, where the Tren de Aragua gang is now a significant concern, further raises more concerns over the conflict of interest.

   @marcorubio should conduct a review regarding why the US State Department is promoting a school led by Tom Boasberg, an “open borders leftist” who arguably endangered the lives of American children by employing illegal aliens.

   Judge Boasberg is very conflicted and is now threatening to hold members of the Trump admin in contempt because multiple members of his family are involved in supporting illegal aliens.

   Judge Boasberg needs to be IMPEACHED.

If true, and there’s no reason to believe it isn’t, then Loomer may have handed the Trump administration all the ammo it needs to expose Judge Boasberg and advance their America First agenda.

kalbokalbs

Aspects of above article misleading.

With certainty, Boasberg and his family, support illegal crap in the USA.

Singapore, a City State, personifies Law & Order. Illegals do Not reside, Nor work in Singapore. Illegals are not tolerated and deported.

SAS – Singapore American School is the premier school in Singapore for ExPats.

  • Betcha.
  • State Department support of SAS, starts AND ends with, funding DoS and DoD families assigned in Singapore, with school age children.

i thought he employed illegals in Denver.

Prolly so. Among other places.

i think she was just showing that Boasberg is compromised in more ways than one. the ngo angle with more than one family member??

Wolf Moon

Loomer is known for going a bit overboard, but what she finds is generally worth some suspicion and examination. “Pay dirt”!

Wolf Moon

Rubio has not had time to clean house, IMO.

Also betting that Dems are targeting Singapore to soften them up on illegals, law and order, and “refugees”, and to get their own favorite “human rights activists” into power, like that gal in Burma Myanmar.

The Obama left policy in Asia has been up against the hard rock of Asian social obedience mentality, as they try to spread Euro-American-style cultural Marxism. Any of our organizations can be weaponized by the left, IMO, if we’re not careful. AND, I assume that all “anti-corruption” organizations pushed by our Dems are actually “control and foster corruption” orgs, in reality. Biden in Ukraine, for example.

CIA and other actors like EU and WEF are trying desperately to get Asian countries to import problem “refugees” and other trouble.

Dems would literally destroy Singapore, if it mean achieving some CIA foreign policy objective du jour. Madman thinking in Langley. “Stable world? Who needs that?”

Also, lefty in charge of educating military kids…… hmmmmm……

kalbokalbs

After I posted above, I wondered if USAID is playing roles in staffing schools such as Singapore American School.

Surely, similar schools are in Seoul SK, Tokyo, JA…

One of the few times he expressed admiration for other metalworkers, he was talking about the people who balanced submarine propellers. They’d mount these propellers on a jig and spun and measured them at various speeds in air and various fluids and deliver them to these guys with a book the size of a Sears catalog.

The guys would study the books for a couple of hours and take angle grinders — like you see in the old Sears catalogs — out to the props. They’d take half a millimeter off the forward side of the shaft edge of the first lobe, then a millimeter off outside edge of the second lobe, then a half millimeter off the back edge of the third lobe…..all told, less than an hour of hand grinding…..and send ’em back to test.

And they’d measure out as nearly silent. Hardly ever would the props need a second adjustment.

There were only about a dozen guys in their group, but they were responsible for the lives of every American submariner on their boats.

Valerie Curren

That is truly amazing.

If Trump does actually manage to bring manufacturing back to the US Big Time ALL of these old geezers need their brains picked & should have apprentices or at least some type of archive, video, audio, written of at least some of what they know…sigh…

It is largely too late.

High Point, North Carolina, used to be the world’s capital of household furniture; Detroit used to be the world’s capital of vehicles; California led the world in designing airplanes….

Try to find a furniture designer, builder, wood purchaser, or upholstery specialist in NC….or someone who can rebuild an engine, much less design a new one, in Detroit….

It’s even difficult to find people to build techie things in Silicon Valley — everyone wants to develop a soul-stealing app while letting the hardware be made in Taiwan or Malaysia.

And that’s the way things have been sitting through the 2000s. But we’re Americans, and we can build anew.

And VSGPOTUSDJT is the man who will support us every inch of the way.

In the case of the ships’ screws, we probably still fashion those here. Too big and too critical an item to just buy from China. EACH DAY WE TAKE UP THE OFFENSIVE WEAPON OF THE WORD OF GOD – THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT – ONE VERSE OPENS THE DOOR TO THE CONTEXT OF THE CHAPTER MESSAGE

Verse of the Day for Sunday, April 6, 2025

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Luke 19:10 (KJV)

COMMENTARY FOR LUKE 19

The conversion of Zaccheus. (1-10) The parable of the nobleman and his servants. (11-27) Christ enters Jerusalem. (28-40) Christ laments over Jerusalem. (41-48)1-10 Those who sincerely desire a sight of Christ, like Zaccheus, will break through opposition, and take pains to see him. Christ invited himself to Zaccheus’ house. Wherever Christ comes he opens the heart, and inclines it to receive him. He that has a mind to know Christ, shall be known of him. Those whom Christ calls, must humble themselves, and come down. We may well receive him joyfully, who brings all good with him. Zaccheus gave proofs publicly that he was become a true convert. He does not look to be justified by his works, as the Pharisee; but by his good works he will, through the grace of God, show the sincerity of his faith and repentance. Zaccheus is declared to be a happy man, now he is turned from sin to God. Now that he is saved from his sins, from the guilt of them, from the power of them, all the benefits of salvation are his. Christ is come to his house, and where Christ comes he brings salvation with him. He came into this lost world to seek and to save it. His design was to save, when there was no salvation in any other. He seeks those that sought him not, and asked not for him.

Commentary by Matthew Henry, 1710.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

YOU MAKE ME SMILE

My first thought in the morning is of God;
Asking His blessings – for me – is not odd;
What is odd and quite perplexing to me;
Is the smile on my face when I think of Thee!

What comes to mind in Morning Prayer?
With each petition – through each layer;
The joy experienced when reminded;
The truth exposed – no longer blinded!

Thank You, Lord, for opening my eyes;
For helping me see – for making me wise;
For sending me – a great gift in disguise;
Someone to respect – a friend to advise!

You touched my heart where others could not;
You accepted my help – without a thought;
You laughed at my jokes – though silly they are;
You welcomed my friendship – from near and afar!

You challenged my knowledge – and added to it;
You carefully connected the dots adrift;
You made me wonder ‘bout God and His plan;
To where it would lead – from whence it began!

You gave me a place – to pray and to love;
You prayed with me – stayed with me – above;
Together we lifted up many a friend;
And brought forth God’s blessings to that end!

How can I thank you – what more can I say;
You make me smile each and every day;
What can I do for you – to ease your mind?
How can I thank you for being so kind?

If I asked God to bless you – would that be enough?
Gee Whiz…giving back to you – is terribly tough;
What can I say when I am lost for words?
Expressly refrain from sliding backwards!

What can I do to end this quandary?
As I open my heart – and air my laundry?
So humble and sweet is your heart, my dear;
It’s nearly impossible for me, I fear!

Perhaps, I will ask Our Father above;
If He will shower you with His love;
Send comforting angels to hold you gently;
Sing you their songs – calm you contently!

Warrior angels I’ll ask God to send;
To protect you – fight for you – to the end;
May the Holy Spirit chide you each day;
With knowledge and wisdom to guide your way!

In my Evening Prayer, I think of you;
I thank God sincerely for all you do;
As I end my prayer and end my day;
You make me smile – it just won’t go away!

JUST BECAUSE

ODE TO BAKO C

There once was a fella named Bako C
Who hep heaven bound he happened to be
One of a kind
The first in line
Cause twas St Peter he wanted to see

We wondered and worried what was went wrong
Why the haste with no time to waste so strong
Could he be distressed
About passing the test
On judgement day in the future forelong

Look up – Look up – There’s no time to waste
To fix or repair or copy and paste
Was there a mistake
Or maybe deep fake
That could cause him to beknown less than chaste

St Peter – St Peter – oh help him please
He’s uncurled unfurled and most ill at ease
With his mind in a twist
He has come to insist
The record – he must fix – before God sees

Oh no – Bako bro – cannot be altered
So sorry you messed up and have faltered
But once it is entered
The typecast is centered
Not one jot or tittle appears paltered

Rest assured dear bro God can fix it fine
But not in your way dost in the divine
So do not fret
Cause you can bet
Whatever it is our God will untwine

God is perfect in all of His ways tho
We can never be and this we must know
Seven times we fall flat
Daily imagine that
Repent on your knees get on with the show

“The End of Medicine: Why And How Doctors Are Now Paid To Kill Their Patients”
6 April 2025
Yours Truly: An interview transcript with Vernon Coleman, MD (retired), about his new book.
The NHS document referred to by Dr. Coleman is here:
“Delivering a Net Zero Health Service”
https://www.nfu.nl/sites/default/files/2024-09/6-Nicky_Philpott_NHS_1.pdf

Yours Truly is very aware that there are situations and circumstances that must have physician intervention; surgical procedures; various types of medications administered; and/or exams and tests performed to arrive at a diagnosis.
On the other hand — in the United States, for example, the FDA still does not “approve” of Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine, Vitamin D, and other cheap, effective treatments for COVID-19 prevention or for use in the early stage of a COVID-19 infection. Instead, the FDA “approves” items such as, Remdesivir; Molnupiravir; Paxlovid; and ventilators, for COVID-19 infected patients (especially those who are hospitalized.)
Part of the problem in the United States is that hospitals, clinics, care facilities, nursing homes, etc., all follow FDA “guidelines” for treatment.
Part of the problem in the United States is that physicians are licensed by state Boards of Medicine (or the state equivalent.) These boards can literally dictate what, and what not, a licensed physician may do; and/or prescribe, or not prescribe, in their medical practice. Failure to follow the diktats of the medical licensing board can result in charges being brought against the physician. The physician can have their License to Practice Medicine “restricted”; they can even have the license revoked completely.
Part of the problem in the United States are the privately-run medical board specialty licensing organizations. If a physician wants to “move up the ladder” in medical practice, or to teach, or to get employed in a medical specialty, they must get one or more of these medical specialty licenses. And, of course, the credentialing boards which grant these specialty licenses are all tied to “Establishment Medicine”, the AMA, and to Big Pharma.

On top of that OH!bummer!care destroyed most private practices. So an ADMINISTRATOR determines your health care.

I mentioned my friend had a Doc in a different state say she had Pancreatitis. We went to a local emergency room, and they said they saw nothing wrong about a month ago. 2 weeks or so later I had to take her back because her pain was so great and she had not been able to keep food down for a week.

The first emergency room doctor said her lipase blood levels were high but he wanted the results of the CAT scan (due in 15 minutes) before he ordered sonar scan. An hour and 1/2 goes by and I finally go to the desk and ask where are the results.

We then get an SOB who says there is NO indication of Pancreatitis HER LIPASE LEVELS ARE NORMAL, and all she has is a tummy ache. And he doesn’t have time for that sort of crap he is there to save lives. 🙄

So we make an appointment with the Doctor who was assigned to her by Medicaid. SHE LOOKS AT THE SAME RESULTS AND SAYS HER LIPASE LEVELS ARE HIGH!

So that is THREE doctors seeing indications of Pancreatitis and one ASSHOLE who is there to shove people out of the hospital. The SOB who reads the CAT scans is another one who needs to be in the unemployment line. They can’t find a ticking bomb if they tried.

Pancreatitis Blood Tests: Uses, Procedures, and More

Amylase and lipase are digestive enzymes produced by the pancreas. Abnormal levels of amylase and lipase are associated with a condition known as pancreatitis.

Lipase blood test: Purpose, results, and more

Acute pancreatitis is one of the most common issues associated with high levels of lipase in the blood.

Pancreatitiscan kill even after discharge from the hospital (Hugary)

Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis) is still a fatal disease in many cases, but in the past even more patients died as a result.

I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope she finds the help she needs.

We are working on it.

So far I can not convince her to NOT EAT FAT PERIOD!

Lipase  is the enzyme that digests fat.

My Mom had pancreatitis and I started reading labels for her starting at age 10. If you are willing to be very careful what you eat, you can often re-introduce SOME starch and fat a few months to a year or so down the road

Also you have to stick to small meals. Five small meals a day is much easier on the system compared to one big meal.

Unfortunately she has some medical training and I have none. I am hoping her new doctor can knock some sense into her!

Happy go lucky

Aren’t those available in a digestive enzyme pill?

OMG, this is huge.

Did Fauci learn nothing from this? Why the COVID shots for kids?

He was either incompetent or intentionally ignoring the best health recommendation and outcome for kids – which is what Trump pushed (let kids get COVID).

OMG, this is big. Kennedy can not only destroy Fauci and all his acolytes and embeds with this (the superiority of early allergen-conferred non-response) – we can force the issue of disease-conferred response as generally superior to BAD VACCINES.

This is a psychological war. We have a clear case where parents and kids were SCREWED by bad advice from public health officials. Let this case be known, and link it to the COVID kid vaccine case. The “easy vax for kids” defenders will be running for the hills.

Every parent who did NOT let their kid get vaxxed for COVID is a HERO.

PAVACA

Wolf Moon
Yes, every parent / guardian who kept the COVID-19 “vaccines” from their children are heroes.
IMO, what also has to happen is the REMOVAL of the CDC “recommended” childhood / adolescent “vaccines” schedule from every single state, school system, or other entity that has literally given these “recommendations” the force of law by incorporating them into the requirements for school attendance / having employment, etc.
Because of the above, the CDC “vaccine recommendations” are now being referred to — by the CDC itself — as ROUTINE. This includes the COVID-19 “vaccines.”

Wolfie,
I am a case in point. Up until Covid, I was the ONLY ONE in my family to NOT be an asthmatic. I think that is because I refused to let my allergies rule me from an early age.

My IgE level was so high, I was told by my allergist it was the highest they had seen and they could not understand why I was not an asthmatic. They also told me never to donate blood because it would kill the person receiving it.

How Does Farm Life Protect Children From Asthma and Allergies?

In the 1990s, a Swiss physician noticed something intriguing: Children in his practice who lived on farms seemed to have far fewer respiratory allergies than non-farm kids. He teamed with local researchers to probe this observation more rigorously, and sure enough, they found that it held weight — and has for decades.

Today, more than one tenth of children in modern industrialized countries suffer from asthma, and about a third have allergic rhinitis. Large studies conducted in Canada and Europe (Midodzi et al and Illi et al) suggest that asthma rates are 32% to 78% lower among children who live in rural farming environments.

Some of the most dramatic findings was reported in 2016 in The New England Journal of Medicine. In a study that compared 60 US Amish and Hutterite farm children — two groups with similar genetic ancestries and lifestyles — asthma rates were four times lower and allergic sensitization (ie, serum IgE against common allergens) was six times lower among the Amish children.

The two farming communities share broad similarities, but there is a key difference: Amish live on single-family dairy farms and use horses for fieldwork and transportation, whereas Hutterites live and work on large, industrialized farms. As a result, as Amish children grow up, they have more contact with animals. They also start eating solid foods earlier and eat a more varied diet that includes raw, unprocessed milk….

Dirty kids are healthy kids.

It has been known for eons; nice to finally have some research to prove it.

When my grandson was about two, he had a reaction to peanut butter. My daughter didn’t even tell me. She waited a little while, and gave him a tiny bit of peanut butter. Then she waited, and gave him some more. She gradually desensitized him to peanuts.

At age fourteen, he has NO allergy problems to any foods at all.

FAFO. This is an excellent response to ALL countries that refuse to take back their citizens that came here illegally. Furthermore, cut off ALL government subsidies to illegals and tax their remittances back home 100%.
“Trump Admin Revokes An Entire Country’s Visas For Refusing to Cooperate With Deportations”
Excerpts:
In a decisive move to hold the South Sudanese government accountable, the United States revoked all visas for South Sudanese nationals. It barred the issuance of any future visas until the government accepts the deportation of its citizens who have been ordered to leave the U.S. This bold action sends a clear message that America will not tolerate the lack of cooperation from foreign governments when it comes to the Trump administration’s deportations.
On Saturday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that all visas held by South Sudanese passport holders would be revoked after the African nation refused to accept its nationals expelled from the U.S. Future visas will also not be issued, effective immediately.
Rubio accused the government in Juba of “taking advantage of the United States,” adding that “every country must accept the return of its citizens in a timely manner when another country…seeks to remove them.”

Does this includes the visas for South Sudanese diplomats? Like their ambassador?

patfrederick

i can’t find that info specifically. sorry

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I did a deep dive once on how passports work. I actually knew someone who had a green US passport, which apparently signified some sort of special status as far as work goes (he was working on a project where the US and a foreign government were collaborating). From memory: People working at embassies often have a special passport, but since all it does is let them go to the embassy and perform their official duties, they’ll often have a “regular” one with them too so they can play tourist.

Ten of my fifteen GS years, Brown for official travel. Also, Blue tourist.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Maybe it was brown and I’m misremembering; this was nearly 30 years ago.

Certainly “official travel” would fit what he was doing.

The thing that kind of surprised me as I was doing my reading was the thought that someone could use two passports from the same country simultaneously.

Last edited 7 days ago by SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA
kalbokalbs

Rather sure i’ve seen both green and red passports. Didn’t know the persons, so mental note is all I have.

Pretty sure DoS changes passport colors, periodically. Though I’ve had a blue tourist since ~1977.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

OK I finally went and looked it up. DIfferent sorts of passports can include (depending on country), ordinary passports (our blue ones–color varies by country), emergency passports (issued, e.g., for someone who lost their passport while overseas, or had their passport expire and they need to go home Right Now), and then up to three kinds of “special” (my term) passports: Diplomatic (accredited diplomats and their senior staff, heads of state or government)–these come with some diplomatic immunity. Service/offical for senior government officals. In the US these are two distinct kinds, official goes to government officials while service goes to contractors. China has a “public affairs passport” for its senior people in state-owned companies.

US ordinary passports are blue, diplomatic ones black, offical maroon and service, gray. There is a green document that looks like a passport that we issue to refugees who have no passport; they do not indicate US citizenship.

Aubergine

Do you know the world’s rarest passport?

It’s for the Catholic Order of Malta. There are only about 500 of them.

cthulhu

There are probably fewer of the Presbyterian Order of Malta.

Valerie Curren

 😂

Cuppa Covfefe

And even fewer of the Bosco Chocolate Order of Malta 😆

Valerie Curren

I had a blue tourist one in 1988, the only one I’ve had 🙂

pgroup2

Doubtful. IIRC diplomatic personnel have to be declared persona non grata in order to get them out.

Cuppa Covfefe

Maybe that will be the next step…

kalbokalbs

Or, send them to El Salvador, CECOT (IIRC).

cthulhu

The deal with El Salvador, though a very good one, means that the US has to pay El Salvador for every incarcerated person. Much cheaper than US jails, but not free.

kalbokalbs

Good with it.

If the home country won’t take their citizens back, flush them to El Salvador.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Indeed, though I suspect there might be some low level jobs at the embassy that aren’t “diplomatic” in the sense of giving them immunity.

Also I think PNG-ing someone is basically telling the other government, “get this craptastic person out of here, and send someone else here–someone who isn’t a shitbag–to do his job.” Which would just mean we have another person here, net number of visas unchanged.

LOL! As to last point….. maybe so!!! 😅

When my BIL died, my MIL took his cat to the vet to have it put to sleep. The vet said okay, except, he didn’t.

Two weeks later, the cat showed up at MIL doorstep….Darn near gave her a heart attack.

Wolf Moon

LOL! What the heck! There has to be more to this story! 😅

Cuppa Covfefe

Could have been a catastrophe…

litenmaus

My BIL froze to death on his front porch which was about 15 yards from MIL’s home. MIL found him and was traumatized BIGLY.

The cat was a beautiful and healthy cat and the vet couldn’t bring himself to put the cat down so he adopted it out to a family 30 miles away. Cat was devoted to BIL and walked the 30 miles back to BIL’s house only to find the house empty, so he sauntered over to the MIL’s front porch where he gave her the scare of a lifetime.

We rehomed the cat to another family and he lived happily for about another 5 years. MIL never did recover from her son’s death and although the vet never charged any money from MIL to put the cat down, MIL never forgave the vet….all ended as well as could be expected.

oh i dunno. i smile at everyone because I have love in my life. We don’t live in a huge house–but it’s easier to keep clean. We don’t have access to a lot of shopping, but the woods are beautiful.
It’s more about being happy with what you have, not what you don’t have.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

When one struggles just to have an apartment and a car, though, that’s gotta suck.

You and I live within our means, and can do so comfortably enough.

patfrederick

true. i don’t know about you, but i don’t need the “latest” thing either.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Nope, I am not what they call an “early adopter.”

I WILL spend money for quality when I think it’s warranted, but just to have the latest gizmo? No. Trying to keep ahead of the Joneses is a losing proposition.

One area where you probably shouldn’t let yourself fall too far behind, though is computers. Actually anything in that realm of “it’ll be much cheaper next year.” I typically look at the price curve, and buy something at about where the price curve bends sharply upwards. THAT item won’t go down too far in value and will remain “current” the longest. And I only do this when the prior item becomes unusable. E.g. the last time I bought a TV was when bigger sizes were coming out every six months, and I noticed that up to 42 inches the price went up 100 bucks every five inches, after that it went up three hundred dollars for every five inches. (Five inches, not six. Calm down!) So I bought a 42 incher–since my prior TV was broken (and is now obsolete anyway–digital changeover). Six months later it was fifty bucks cheaper. The 47 inch had dropped 400 bucks in price. Anyone who HAD TO HAVE ONE (or a 52 inch) was probably hopping mad at themselves for not having waited (but then they’d want the next size up from that now that it was available).

You can live a LOT cheaper if you are satisfied with something that’s not bleeding edge.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

On the flip side of that I knew someone who blew 4000 bucks on a computer; it was the best available at the time.

He was actually mad when a better one came out six months later. Honestly what the flying fuck did this idiot expect? All progress to stop now that he had his ultimate machine?

patfrederick

we had an unexplained charge on our cell phone bill so we visited the verizon store for an explanation. while there, the young man asked to see my phone and he then laughed and asked what do i use the phone for? i replied, making phone calls and the occasional photo.
he said i see… you deleted a lot of aps…i said i don’t use them.
then he said we could upgrade our phones for free. they’re $1,000 phones and we each had a $1,000 credit towards purchase. we said no.
he looked at us like we’re from outer space.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Did they come with a contract?

That’s how they get you. “Free” isn’t free.

I buy my phones outright.

patfrederick

we bought our phones from verizon 20 years ago when we first moved here. it’s the only company that offered reception where we live. they were flip phones. when those no longer would work (3g) we got the motorolas (bought them). there is nothing wrong with the phones so getting a new one isn’t on our radar at the moment. if i thought they would work, I’d buy a burner from walmart and buy minutes but our area is remote. we need to use a cell extender that works off our wifi.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

The problem is that my wifi is also off my cell service. So I had to buy a signal booster that literally has an antenna and amplifies what it receives inside the house.

At that, it still sucks at the other end of the house; my phone routinely drops of the network. My wifi hot spot has a stouter receiver in it, so I am able to inflict my science posts on you from that end of the house.

patfrederick

we have satellite internet (not starlink) so there’s a lapse between when we say something and it being heard by the other party. My mother cannot grasp this process so she frequently starts talking while I’m talking. we end up driving into town to make calls to her.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

That beats hearing an echo on a satellite call, which used to happen a lot.

Imagine the moon, with its two or three second round trip delay. Noticeable in Apollo videos. (The astronauts were not stopping to think every time they said something.)

Richard Dawkins mentioned it in one of his books. He got the proofs back from the publisher and noticed the typesetter had introduced that error.

“The Hidden Persuaders”,  ‘The Waste Makers”, and “The Status Seekers” by Vance Packard discuss “Keeping Up with the Joneses” and always having to have the first and/or the best…

Crazy thing is, these books are from the 1950s, and as true today as they were back then.

Now, if I could only go back in time and “unbuy” a lot of the computer kit in my home computing museum, I’d have the money to go out and buy something else I don’t need 😆

(Hmmm…. anyone interested in an Epson Stylus Photo 2200/2100 over here A3+ printer, complete with roll feed, output basket with cutter, CD print tray [which is the difference between the European and US versions, no idea why] and a zillion accessories… was only around 800 Euro new 🙂 Seems the “Persuaders” were not so hidden after all 🙂 )…..

Here’s a review of it: https://www.imaging-resource.com/PRINT/E2200/E2200.HTM

And a snippet from the followon printer review:  https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/epsonr3000
 looking back at it (and why I bought it in the first place). Note that the article is from 2011, so it’s 24 years, not 10 years… yikes…

It’s now almost 10 years since Epson launched the Stylus Photo 2100. The SP2100 was an instant success due to its use of long lasting UltraChrome pigment inks which claimed a life of 200+ years.

Many photographers were now ready to move out of the darkroom and fully embrace digital photography. The SP2100 set a new benchmark for digital photo printing. The quality of photos that this printer could produce was excellent: traditional wet chemistry process now had a serious rival.

The SP2100 remained the de-facto choice that every serious photographer wanted. This was replaced some three years later by the R2400, followed by the R2800 and R2880.

Other dye-ink based printers were also launched during this time, but for archival printing the only option is to use a pigment ink printer.

Then again, I guess I could buy a “Hello Kitty” camera, just for fun:

2**n-1 shades of grey…

Although red is getting to be popular over here, with bright green (!), orange, and even yellow as well. The bright colors are popular on smaller cars, which is a good thing, as it makes them more visible.

Also good because they seem to drive like gnats out of H3ll… so the cops can see them better, too 🙂

Then, there’s the VW harlequin which we almost bought… they wanted to trade 1-for-1 with a Golf III we’d just bought a couple of months earlier… had a VR6 engine [which is why my wife said NO], and maxed out on options… but people just didn’t want all those colors… could just see a traffic report “a blue-yellow-red-green-white-black-brown golf”….. It was the idea of a praktikant that actually did pretty well over here…

Come to think of it those absolutely flat greys I see now would qualify.

Cuppa Covfefe

Gunmetal grey is HUGE over here right now… utterly cannot figure out why… trying to stand out by picking what should be an inconspicuous color? War hawks?

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I don’t know.

But someone I know who owns a Porsche Cayenne Turbo (at leas $150K) went for “chalk” which is actually a lot darker/greyer than actual chalk. Flat.

Cuppa Covfefe

Over here you could order which colors you wanted, which took a little longer.. there were certain “knock-out” combos which they didn’t do (for some reason or other), but it was kind of cool, and with VW’s modular approach wasn’t too hard for them.

And when ordering a car, for a few hundred Euros (for a fistful of Euros?) you can pick from the whole palette of RAL (like Pantone) colors (again with a few limits)…

I’m so sick of silver cars… I had a 280ZX back in the day that was vandalized, and, despite it being a great paint/body shop, it still ended up being three or four colors of “pewter”… 😡

The brother of a friend of mine said, “no surprise there; that’s about the worst color there is to match”… that was back in 1981, maybe paint technology has advanced since then (or people flat out just don’t care anymore 🙂 )…..

Looked like this before it got trashed:

What was really cool was to open both windows on a foggy day and let the fog go through the car… while listening to Brahms’s Cello Sextetts or the like… have to pay attention, though, in that kind of weather….

Cuppa Covfefe

The car we didn’t trade in went on for 200K miles, all over Kalifornistan and Europe… ended up getting killed by rust and salted roads… but it led to an absolutely studly display of macho “get it started by any means necessary” in the dead of winter here on our hill…

We called the ADAC (like AAA) asking for a jump start, and the grizzled fellow showed up, looked at the car, looked at the hill, tried to start (on the flat battery), and smiled… (oh, how I wish I’d had a camera).

As it was a five-speed manual, push or rolling-down-a-hill starting via dropping the clutch was possible.

What the designers didn’t intend, however, was for that to be done IN REVERSE gear…

So, all the neighborhood kids and crazies and everyone else gathered to look as this guy let our Golfle (as the Swäbisch call it) coast backwards down the hill, almost to the end of the street, and drop the clutch, whereupon it caught, started, and rewarded us all with a cloud of black smoke and a running engine 😀

Craziest, gutsiest, funniest thing I ever saw… still, we got a new Golf (Golf VI Plus) a few months later… but that was one heck of a car. Don’t know if the Harlequin, with the VR6, could have done the same…

Red has a higher insurance rate as does colors other than white black & grey. Also in some states they have higher tax rate.

Of course the internet says it is a myth… It may have changed, however I had the argument in MA when the clerk wanted to call my yellow VW red WITH a higher rate included.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Even if its not true any more, the perception (on the part of the buyer) that it’s true will affect their choices.

OTOH people certainly didn’t care that much back then, they want a red car, they’re willing to pay more insurance.

Attorney General Pam Bondi has suspended the senior Department of Justice attorney representing the administration in a high-visibility deportation case. Enez Reuveni, the acting deputy director of Justice’s immigration litigation division, was suspended from duty and had his email terminated in a letter from Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche accusing him of failing to “follow a directive from your superiors.” Reuveni is a 15-year veteran of the Department of Justice and was only promoted to acting deputy director of the immigration litigation division two weeks ago.

Accompanying Reuveni on vacation will be his boss, August Flentje, the acting director of the immigration litigation division, who was suspended Saturday for “failure to supervise a subordinate.”

This all flows from the case of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, an illegal from El Salvador who entered the US in 2011. He had alleged ties to the Salvadoran MS-13 gang and was ordered deported in 2019. A judge put his deportation on hold because he may have been in danger from a rival gang in El Salvador. Be that as it may, Abrego Garcia was scooped up by ICE in early March and deported to an anti-terrorist prison in El Salvador. His attorneys sued, and on Friday, the judge, an Obama appointee, ordered the government to find and return Abrego Garcia to the US; see Judge Orders Trump to Return Deported Man Sent to El Salvadoran Prison, Sets Up a Massive Showdown – RedState. That set up a Constitutional showdown; see Trump Administration Sends Brutally Honest Response Saying Judge Can’t Undo a Perfectly Good Deportation – RedState.

Reuveni’s demise was probably brought on by his court performance Friday which showed he disagreed with the Trump administration’s position and seemed to be more interested in sucking up to the judge by throwing his client under the bus than in doing his job. These are some of the exchanges.

Here’s another exchange that might have been disagreeable to DOJ leadership, who have accused Reuveni of failing to “zealously advocate” on behalf of the United States: pic.twitter.com/RUGzknzA9v

— Anna Bower (@AnnaBower) April 5, 2025

Advertisement

At one point, the judge asked why the U.S. can’t bring Garcia back from El Salvador.

“[W]hen this case landed on my desk, the first thing I did was ask my clients that very question. I’ve not received, to date, an answer that I find satisfactory,” Reuveni replied. pic.twitter.com/B3KR4KxYun

— Anna Bower (@AnnaBower) April 5, 2025

More: Reuveni asked the judge to give the government 24 hours to get Garcia back to the U.S. without court intervention.

He initially compared his request for one more chance to that of “the boy who cried wolf”—but quickly backtracked, saying “that’s the wrong metaphor.” pic.twitter.com/nOKMB8Y2ff

— Anna Bower (@AnnaBower) April 5, 2025

When Pam Bondi was sworn in, one of the first things she did was to address the practice of DOJ lawyers during Trump 1.0 of refusing to participate in cases, sign briefs, and even throw cases they disagreed with. “It is the job of an attorney privileged to serve in the Department of Justice to zealously defend the interests of the United States,” she wrote, “Those interests, and the overall policy of the United States, are set by the Nation’s Chief Executive, who is vested by the Constitution with all ‘[E]xecutive Power.’ More broadly, attorneys are expected to zealously advance, protect, and defend their client’s interests. Department of Justice attorneys have signed up for a job that requires zealously advocating for the United States.”

This isn’t hard. Working for DOJ shouldn’t be like playing AYSO soccer. There shouldn’t be participation trophies, and not every game ends with free snacks. It seems like the bad old ways in the DOJ went underground for a while but are now reemerging, and Reuveni was in the wrong place at the wrong time, saying the wrong thing. The seriousness of the affair is underscored by Reuveni’s supervisor getting hammered even though he signed the combative brief opposing the judge’s “bring him back” order on Saturday. This seems calculated to send a message that it isn’t enough that you personally are getting with the new program; you are responsible for bringing your attorneys along with you.

Judge orders return of Maryland father deported by mistake to El Salvador prisonBy: Ariana Figueroa – April 4, 2025

GREENBELT, MARYLAND — A federal judge in Maryland Friday ordered the Trump administration to return a national from El Salvador by April 7 who was erroneously deported to a notorious prison in El Salvador, despite an order blocking such removal.

The ruling from U.S. District Court of Maryland Judge Paula Xinis sets up a fight with the Trump administration. Officials have admitted the deportation of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia of Beltsville, Maryland, was a mistake, but have stood by their actions.

The case could also mean that the more than 250 Venezuelan men in a separate case who were removed under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 without due process can be returned to the U.S.

Cheers could be heard outside the courthouse after the order, as dozens of protestors waited for the decision.

Hours later, the Department of Justice appealed the decision to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.

‘It was unconstitutional’

Xinis, who was appointed by former President Barack Obama, said “there is no evidence to hold” Abrego Garcia at the notorious prison Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo, known as CECOT, and even noted his March 12 arrest by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had no basis for removal.

“That means from the moment he was seized, it was unconstitutional,” Xinis said.

The attorney representing the Department of Justice, Erez Reuveni, said the Trump administration is not challenging the merits of the case and the only argument it has is that the Maryland court lacks jurisdiction because Abrego Garcia is in the custody of El Salvador.

Xinis pressed on what grounds Abrego Garcia was removed to the prison.

Reuveni said he has no idea and was not given any information from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

She asked why Abrego Garcia could not be returned to the United States, which is what his family was seeking in Friday’s preliminary injunction hearing.

Reuveni said that he has asked officials that same question, and has not received an answer that is “satisfactory.”

Reuveni made one request to the court, that Xinis give the administration of President Donald Trump 24 hours to try to rectify the situation.

U.S. paying $6 million

Attorneys for Abrego Garcia are not only asking for him to be returned, but for the Trump administration to cease payments to the mega-prison for his detainment. The White House has stated it’s paying the government of El Salvador $6 million to detain nearly 300 men.

Reuveni said because Abrego Garcia is in custody in El Salvador, he is no longer in U.S. custody and therefore cannot be retrieved.

Xinis pushed back on that argument, noting that the U.S. and El Salvador have a contract to detain the men at the prison….

AND FINALLY at the very end of the article:

Abrego Garcia does not have a criminal record in the U.S., El Salvador or anywhere else, Sandoval-Moshenberg has stated.

  :wpds_arrow: Abrego Garcia came to the U.S. without legal authorization in 2011, fleeing violence in his home country of El Salvador, according to court records. Six years later while he was looking for work at a Home Depot in Hyattsville, Maryland, he was taken into custody by Prince George’s County Police Department.

While there, he was questioned about gang affiliation and law enforcement did not believe he was not a member of the MS-13 gang, according to court records. The evidence officers submitted included Abrego Garcia wearing a Chicago Bulls hat, a hoodie and a statement from a confidential informant that stated he was a member of MS-13, according to court documents.

While he was never charged with, or convicted of being, in a gang, he was kept in ICE detention while his case proceeded before an immigration judge.

Healing Prayers

Prayer for Restorative Rest

Healing Hand, as I lay in my bed this evening, I pray for Your restorative power to touch my life. Mend what has been broken, soothe what has been hurt, and heal what has been wounded. Remember he was all for the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

As I said before I think Rand Paul’s stand on the Trans Pacific Partnership suicidal for the USA and his view of China truly bizarre. Or is he on board the globalist train?

The New American: Rand Paul to Obama: “Prioritize” Passage of Trans-Pacific Partnership

…Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a man whose personal popularity and political fortunes have increased in direct proportion to his spreading of his libertarian-leaning ideals, has now publicly embraced the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), an unprecedented sovereignty surrender masquerading as a multi-national trade pact…..

BOOM!!!
Los Angles Times: Rand Paul drops the mic on Donald Trump over China’s participation in trade deal
http://touch.latimes.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-84994261/
Boom.

That was the implied sound effect Tuesday night as Sen. Rand Paul casually reminded Donald Trump about China’s lack of participation in the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the sweeping trade deal among the U.S. and 11 other countries. Trump had been on a tear, railing about how the deal was “a disaster” and saying China was the “No. 1 abuser” of the U.S….
Paul was the only person who seemed to know the basics of the trade deal, which has returned to the headlines in recent days as the full text of the complex deal was released.

Rand Paul, IF he had actually read that damn treaty should have know it is very easy to ADD another country and the ‘No China” gambit was the exact same chess move Clinton played to get the World Trade Organization treaty ratified. Then Clinton worked his rump off to get China added a few years later.

Is Rand really that dumb? Or is he FOR CHINA

China trade improves economy AND makes fight less likely

When I was about ten years old, like many conservative middle-class families, our inclination was to resist anything to do with Red China. In that black and white world, you were either for us or against us. Trade with China was thought to be trade with the enemy. A funny thing happened, though, along the way. Many conservatives came to understand a larger truth. As trade began to blossom with China, many conservatives, myself included, came to admit that trade improves our economic well-being AND makes us less likely to fight. The success of trade with China made many conservatives rethink their view of the world. — Rand Paul

http://www.ontheissues.org/2016/Rand_Paul_Free_Trade.htm

So yeah, it looks like Rand is FOR CHINA.

This is paragraph is straight out of the Progressive play book on Interdependence one of Al Gore’s favorite issues.
http://www.itu.int/newsarchive/press/PP98/Documents/Statement_Gore.html

SEE: Dale C. Copeland, “Economic Interdependence and War: A Theory of Trade Expectations,” International Security, Vol. 20, no.4 (Spring 1996) for exactly how dangerous Interdependence is.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I have NEVER trusted Rand Paul after he came out with that Schiff during the 2016 presidential primaries.

Brave and Free

IMO he’s just another “Politician ” hiding behind a different mask.

Cuppa Covfefe

He should have just stayed with singing in his car that’s as big as a whale 😆

Every time I think that Paul and I are on the same page he does something that makes me question my reasoning.
