As an aside, gold is right this moment at 3,277.30. (The buy-sell spread is now three dollars; it’s usually $1, just the last week or so it has been $2.) Silver is at $32.51, again failing to get to over 1/100th of an ounce of gold. Platinum is still trying to fall off the floor.

I did get to see a demo of thermite in high school.
College chemistry for me had no lab; it was a nominal “give those EEs one semester of chemistry” course. The prof didn’t even write his own test questions, he pulled them out of the workbook. Until the final. I was warned he would do that, so I actually studied.
I saw the demo in high school.
