Huh, the version I copied from the BibleGateway.com seems to be missing something. Other translations say, “do not practice the truth” or “do not live out the truth.” It bothers me a little to publish something that seems to omit an important word like that.
I can see the equivalence. Maybe the choice of “do [active]” has a brevity and directness which more closely matches the original meaning. The other translations you provide seem more specific, but are clearly belabored with extra verbiage to SAY “this is not an error – ‘do’ as in ‘to do’ is what we mean here”.

John 3:21 is translated variously, but one version is:
“But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God”
“Does what is true” is an abstract but beautiful and profound idea from the gospel. The letter seems have the same formulation.

A while back BibleGateway went from the KJV being their defaut version to the NIV. Then the NIV got “modernized” and “made more relevant”, which translates to watered-down and PC. That could be the reason for the different/missing words.
I read a while back that the NIV is missing around 16K words (a few chapters’ worth) as compared to the KJV and many older translations. Seems they didn’t follow what Revelation 22:18-19 says…
you are right about niv and kjv. Translations like kjv and nasv are word for word translations, whereas niv, which is a poor translation, is “thought for thought.”

Sylvia, the Catholic Church Annulment process provided me the opportunity to see up close and personal how an 11 year marriage following a 6 year relationship was built on an apparent solid foundation with one little well covered secret “big lie” that was not discovered until going through my divorce. My answers to questions provided came from deep inside me and outside that process would likely never have occurred to me to even ask because the basis of the questions were “new territory” outside my realm of personal experience or family upbringing.

I am a believer in “assigned responsibility” on illegal immigration, with my new POISON PILL for globalist weaponization of “migration”. It’s called NEO-COLONIALISM.
It’s simple. Every illegal immigrant into the United States becomes the responsibility of their country of origin AND the country or countries of trans-shipment. Each illegal entering our country entitles us to ONE (1) armed colonist to be sent back to that country under United States military protection.
The consequences look like this. 30,000 Hondurans mean we establish a beachhead colony of 30,000 armed colonists, forcibly, on Honduran soil, from which we can begin to “solve the problem ourselves”.

I totally disagree with that. I don’t want our military being sent into harm’s way for those countries. Our military can defend our own borders. I don’t want to fix those countries. That is their problem. Stop the aid going there because it certainly isn’t going to the people who need it anyway, and make the UN send all their troops, minus ours to do whatever, that won’t work anyway. In my world, this is a feel good story! A conservative describes how he didn’t vote for PDJT (fool) and how he has watched and been surprised and delighted by what a great President Our Man in the WH has been.
I enjoyed it, and enjoyed feeling slightly superior to the author. I may not have been smart enough to jump on the T Train at the escalator, but at least I discovered the truth way sooner than the dude who wrote this article.
Hear, hear! I was a Randian before I was a Cruzbot before I was MAGA, and I was very interested in Kasich, Fiorina, and Carson, too, during the primaries. But I think SD convinced me along the way that Trump was the best choice for POTUS, and I’m VERY happy that he did!
I didn’t know that, Wolf. I was interested in Fiorina but I hardly ever find anyone else who liked her. I liked Carson a lot, thought Rubio might be the best of the lot (until Candidate Trump made him look like a callow youth dressing up in his dad’s suit and overcoat at which point I was unable to take him seriously again), thought Cruz was the likely winner and was prepared to stand behind him despite feeling unhappy about it and really doubtful he could win.
I reluctantly came to support PDJT when it was him or the Hildabeast at which point there simply was no choice.
But the process was more involved and more spiritual. I kept learning about PDJT and seeing things that seemed really significant. The Carson on the sidelines moment at the debate, the way he answered Megyn Kelly back about her stupid women question (“Only Rosie”) and of course he dared to talk about immigration and the Wall.
I never thought he was a viable candidate so I kept looking elsewhere. And I kept praying. And I kept getting the answer “imperfect vessel” and along with a litany of Biblical characters like Moses, King David, so on and so forth. I was really quite grumpy and out of sorts with God over it because I thought somehow I knew better and Donald Trump was just IMPOSSIBLE as a candidate.
Finally, after exhausting myself, I said “Okay, God, if that’s who it is I’m supposed to vote for, I surrender. But couldn’t you have sent us someone a little more holy?” I do believe God has QUITE the sense of humor. And how much patience He must have to put up with me.

What he isn’t is a career politician, whose sole interest is in holding office for the rest of his life. That, and the fact that he didn’t need money or support from the usual “interest groups”, made him a very different politician. One who ran out of a genuine desire to do what’s best for the only interest group that SHOULD matter: America, and who didn’t lose sight of that on his way up the ladder (because he started at the top).
In fact, he is easily earning a label given to very few politicians: statesman.

I never bought her at 100% because her very teaching of skepticism made me quite comfortable with the idea that remaining skeptical of HER was the final gift she gave me – like the imperfection of a Navajo rug that makes it perfectly Navajo when viewed correctly. And where did that skepticism of her come from? The idea of God, that “works too well” from the moment I understood it and understood I could not fully understand it. The beauty of THAT irony could not be lost! It was precious to me!

I’m probably closer to being an Objectivist than anything else you can find reasonably well defined “out there” in public. That being said, I’m not there a hundred percent by any means. I can pretty much get along with them, though…but for the most part they cannot stand PDJT. I think in many cases this is an error of knowledge on their part.
I went through a somewhat similar process before I got to Trump, except never liked or trusted Kasich, and all of them with the exception of Rand I believe to be deep state. Fiorina attracted me until I realized how liberal she really was. So glad I came to realize about our lion.

Actually that day, June 16, 2015, I was watching his press conference sitting next to my late father. My Dad was a Roosevelt Democrat. Afterwards, my father, god bless his soul, turned to me and said, “I’m voting fro him.” Why Dad? “This guy is a billionaire. He has everything to lose so he must be doing this because he loves this country. Make sure you take me to go vote for him.”
He became transfixed with Trump. Watched everything he could. “Sssshh don’t tell your mother, I love this guy.” So we watched together. As soon as my mother came over, the channel would get changed. But I knew my dad wanted to see him elected.
Dad’s health declined. We never made it to the rpimary. He passed away before it happened. So I voted in his honor. I’ll be darned if I ever give on on President Trump. My father would be so proud.

I wavered between Rand and Cruz before I became pro-Trump. Prior to that, I couldn’t stand Trump. How times have changed. Never thought I would become such a fierce supporter of Trump.

Honestly? At the time, I was not aware of Cruz’s shenanigans. Research helped me see the light……plus, I was disgusted by that stunt he pulled on Carson (who I deeply admire and respect).

Cruz was there because of the children, hopelessly caught up in their parent’s crime. I can’t fault him for that even thought the media made a field day of it. I never pay attention to Glenn Beck.
In my opinion, neither Rand nor Cruz could have beaten Hillary. Then-candidate Trump was able to draw independents, union workers, and some staunchly Democrat constituencies and had more of a populist appeal. Cruz is liked by cerebral conservatives but does not come across as a man of the people like Trump does.

In my opinion, and through lots of research….. I came to the conclusion that both Rubio and Cruz are NOT “Natural Born Citizens” (No matter what Mark Levin says). But then again, Obungler is not a “Natural Born Citizen” either. We are FAR from what the “Founders” had in mind.
Yes, I remember, way back, reading something that included a listing of people who voted in the town (in Canada) where Cruz and his parents were living. So unless they allowed non-citizens to vote, Ted isn’t natural born. His parents’ entire story is a mystery.

WM, I was very open to letting the primary process eliminate some of my known “lightweight wannabee’s” before I began serious research on this person I knew little about and NEVER watched on TV. That research was prompted totally by SD’s strong support of candidate DJT and because of my respect for his prior well researched positions. I appreciate that nudge from SD that led me to finding the real person behind the media narrative.

From the first time I heard TC speak my “spidey sense” told me he was not to be trusted and couldn’t be president. One would have thought I would be a Rand proponent given my commitment to his father 2007-2012, but after those campaigns my spidey sense kicked in strongly against Rand as a presidential candidate. I went to hear him early on…he sounded good. Spidey sense needle did not budge an inch. 🙂
Like the Pauls very much except think they are extremely naïve about Islam, which for me spells “danger.” As long as they stay on the domestic side of things, I think they’re great.
I was for Rand Paul at the beginning of the race. Didn’t like/trust any of the others. I remember he,(Paul), announced his campaign and then hardly heard anything from him. Watched President Trump’s announcement out of curiosity. The escalator and that speech hooked me then. Still like Sen. Paul and the others, not so much…well Sec. Carson and Sec. Perry are ok too.
I liked some things about Rand Paul, too. It’s funny, looking back, how much I have “evolved” politically from back then.
There were and still are some good things about Rand Paul, and it seems like he’s learning how to work with Trump.

Okay, as usual I didn’t pay close attention as the details of this are in my experience a bit dry. But what I think I read was that either the guy who ID’d the plane or someone in his group that he was communicating with were able to guess at the approximate destination of the plane based on data like the direction of flight or whatever and concluded it was going to the ME or Iraq, whichever. But I give my standard disavowal–I wouldn’t swear to it!

This is the same issue that hydrogen (as a fuel) has. Because it does not exist on earth in free form, it must first be created by breaking apart some molecule (generally water), and the breaking apart takes as much energy as it will release when it’s burned. Actually, because no process is perfectly efficient (far from it!) it takes MORE energy to produce hydrogen than you will get from burning it or using it in a fuel cell. Hydrogen is essentially a battery.

The sad thing is, Michiu Kaku, got roped into an ad campaign for hydrogen, touting it as a wonderful fuel because it was the most common thing in the universe (which it is–75% of the non-dark matter in the universe by weight is hydrogen). The problem is, very little of the Earth is hydrogen, and it’s all basically already “burned.”
Now, if he was talking *fusion* that would be another thing, but that is 50 years away (and always has been), AND it realistically could only use deuterium, a rather uncommon…wait for it…isotope of hydrogen. In the case of fusion, the energy release would more than overcome the effort to extract deuterium from water.

Dr. Kaku appeared many times on The Universe and has written a number of books for a popular audience.

I found it:
Cassini flying by on its way to Saturn took it, and that’s logical. One thing that bothered me about it (and made me suspect it was an animation) was that the outer moon is shown overtaking the inner moon (watch it and you’ll see the faster moon covering the slower one, which means it’s closer, which means its farther from Jupiter, which means–tilt! Things in outer orbits don’t move faster than things in inner orbits!)
This could only happen if the point of view is itself moving quite rapidly, and in the “wrong” direction, and Cassini was flying by Jupiter–it was flying by Jupiter at quite a bit more than escape velocity.
(I’d better explain what the “wrong” direction is. As seen from over the north pole, almost everything in the solar system turns counter clockwise. From over Jupiter’s north pole, Jupiter rotates counter clockwise, and most of its moons, including these two, go around counter clockwise. Some of the outermost tiny little moons that are just dots in photographs move clockwise, making astronomers suspect they’re captured asteroids rather than moons that were with Jupiter from the beginning. This applies to Earth and Earth’s moon, too, and also the planets going around the sun. Clockwise motion is odd when seen and demands explanation.)
The problem is, Cassini approached Jupiter, and passed it, behind Jupiter’s orbital motion–looking at it from over the Sun’s north pole, it passed a bit clockwise of Jupiter, i.e., behind it as Jupiter orbited the Sun. (That’s necessary for the “slingshot” effect to work.) So I can’t reconcile Cassini passing Jupiter on the side it did and seeing the outer moon overtake the inner moon, it should have passed the inner moon with both of them going backwards from that viewpoint. Unless, of course the video is being played backwards (or with south at top) in order to make the moons look like they’re going in the right direction.
Gotta do some more research.

It’s a composite. The moons’ images are real, the image of Jupiter is real…the motion was faked.
Reading the comments, a number of people caught on to the outer moon (Europa) overtaking the inner moon (Io) and the creator of the video acknowledged the issue.
Yeah, this is entirely too convenient. NOT a coincidence. I don’t know what it is, however. But it isn’t good, that’s obvious.

One of the most hilarious times was when “friends” made it look like I’d been hacked by the ChiComs, and I had to wipe my phone completely, which was very likely the target behavior they wanted, but now I understand that it was more likely to get a particular agency OFF my phone. And in the end I’m sitting there thinking “Yeah, I know it’s not the ChiComs, but how do I let the White Hats know I’m calling BS on their hack, but at the same time am not exactly unsympathetic on the ChiCom thing?

Jason Chaffetz was filling in on Hannity’s TV show tonight. He had a segment with Dan Bongino and another guy named Schoen, an attorneyl, and they were discussing this latest Cohen story. It was interesting.
Cohen, once again, denies he was in Prague. His attorney, Lanny Davis, denies he was in Prague. They made the point that Cohen would now have every reason to leap up and say YES I WAS IN PRAGUE and sell out Donald Trump in exchange for leniency…if he had actually been in Prague. That this hasn’t happened speaks volumes.
So then the question is who is behind this story constantly being pushed out there and what is the purpose of it?
To sow FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt) among the American public.
This is a quiet backdoor route (one of many) by which PDJT’s opponents hope to invalidate the 2016 election result.
The Cohen in Prague goes to the massive illegal collecting of “702 Inquiries” that took place by the private contractors during the 2016 campaign—which ended up in the Steele dossier pushed by Fusion GPS and FBI/DOJ for the FISA warrants. The problem—in the collection process of illegal information (the 702’s), no one bothered to verify that the Prague Cohen was Trump’s Cohen! It wasn’t!
Remember when NSA Director Mike Rogers discovered that 85% of the 702 Inquiries into the database were illegal in 2016? He goes to Trump Tower on Nov. 17, 2016 to inform President-elect Trump that he was being tapped, and Trump immediately moves the presidential team to New Jersey. This was after Rogers had uncovered all the illegal entries into the database,and shut the “inquiry” operation down.

The other fake thing about this picture is the angle of the photo-taker to the plane.
If the plane is at 35K ft., the photo-taker would be looking at the plane’s belly.
Or, if this is truly the angle of the photographer to the plane and the plane is at 35K feet, the phototaker is about 1000 miles away to be able to capture that angle of a plane at 35K feet…quite a zoom lens!

i was hink this is a fake story bcause 1) the media was bamboozled by the trip. 2) what someone said already to show this as an attempt to sow fear and discord and show that trump is making rash decisions in his chaotic state.

I don’t know the timing of the trip outbound, but it would certainly be different. Daytime? I dunno.
At the very least, using this picture in this circumstance–claiming it’s AF1 cruising over England–is utter bullshit, and I’ll summarize why:
1) The gear is down. Airliners have a maximum airspeed with the gear down, and cruise speed exceeds this (or it wouldn’t be stated). Furthermore, the gear creates drag and would send fuel consumption through the roof, so even if you could cruise with the gear down, you wouldn’t want to.
2) The angle is from the side, which would mean the plane would have to be far away and close to the horizon–by far away I mean tens of miles. You’d never get a clear shot of it at that distance through all the atmospheric ripple and so on. And it doesn’t matter if you have a 40,000 mm zoom lens on your camera (as far as I know such a thing doesn’t exist)–it would be very, very blurry.
3) If the plane were overhead, it’d only be a few miles away with much less turbulent air between you and it…but you’d see the underside of it in the supposed super-zoomed in picture, not the side.
Therefore, this is a close shot of the plane landing or taking off and it’s utterly fraudulent to use this as proof you saw AF1 crossing the UK–unless you caught it LANDING somewhere en route.

It appears that they tried. Legally, the family’s hands are tied – I have been there, with my daughter regarding my granddaughter. All you can do is report to Sheriff, police, and children’s services.
Sheriff’s, police, may be some help with charges. However, then it hits court. Usually they don’t lose their children. Children’s services are worthless.

Even when they enter, it’s a waste of time. As long as the children look okay, they move on to the next thing on their list for the day. But it’s even worse than that. She probably has few social skills. I hope that she is placed in proper care and gets good dental reconstruction. Otherwise, she will never feel fully herself.

My advice in general is that taking risks of making mistakes is more important than sitting on the sidelines and not risking a mistake. Don’t assume that our wrong advice won’t be corrected by God at the other end of transmission, and will help to accomplish God’s will. God is powerful – trust in the DESIGN – trust in the PLAN.
Excellent example: Years ago, a pastor who advised me on something, did not understand the realities of the problem – he COULD not understand the realities of the problem – so he gave me advice (in a way – something he said) that was strategically wrong but spiritually correct, because the situation involved extreme levels of deception that most in the clergy are not familiar with. Based on agreeing with the spirit of what he told me, I decided to do the opposite of what he thought I should do in worldly terms, because I knew the REALITY was not what he thought it was. That turned out to be the correct solution. It took patience to see where things needed to go, but I trusted godly fundamentals.
God is BIG – way bigger than the situations we think we see. TRUSTING IN GOD and God’s Word it critical. Try to see deeper into it, bracing for the complexities of a fallen world. But it is better to engage than not engage.
Stated another way, never let religion get in the way of GOD!!! 😀

Make the choice. FIGHT in one’s own style – NOT what others think should be your style. Take OWNERSHIP of one’s role in battle. AWANA. Who approves? GOD!
That answer has more to do with your second question. Let me go back to the first. How to clear the vision.
“Wise as serpents, innocent as doves.” When people see that things are not simple, it will open eyes. People need to see that everything we do or say is in a fallen world, and becomes complex by what we do and what we don’t do. The advice to love our enemies helps us to see through their eyes, seeing both the good and the bad from their perspective. Because an incredible amount of evil is now done under the cover of good, people need to see that things are not simple. But once people start to SEE the complexity, they see the detail – they see more clearly.
Take the hypothetical case of a charity initiative for Honduran refugees which is being highly manipulated by political operatives who hate Christianity and don’t even believe in God. Leaders of the church doing it were deceived by atheist Soviets decades ago, and respond in knee-jerk fashion to political prompts from the left. And yet there stands the commandment directly from Christ to help these people – as if we were back in the Roman Empire and the same intrigues were swirling around us still – which is the exact reality. Our very people facing the very same possibility of globalist oppression and diaspora should we not hold together.
Don’t think it’s simple – it’s not simple. One has to be wise as serpents to see though the complexity, yet innocent as a dove to say “I will extend a hand to that person through all of these thieving and betraying hands which try to manipulate the situation, and with God’s help I will do it in a way that does the most good and the least evil, following God’s commandments which teach us not only that we SHOULD do these things in simple, straightforward ways, but HOW to do them.
The TARNISH of world give powerful REALITY to the lamp of God, and seeing the tarnish and feeling the reality of spiritual things which still shines in spite of the tarnish, and the FLAME OF GOD which the tarnish cannot touch, gives us assurances.
One last point about seeing the tarnish. See it in ourselves FIRST, and then one can see it everywhere. The first and most important confession is to the SELF. I have always found that understanding my own sin leads to great vision. Don’t be afraid of it. Don’t look away. Not seeing our own sin, or seeing it and fearing it, is a great weapon for Satan.
Hope this helps. This is not from a commissioned officer in God’s battle. This is not even from an enlisted man. This is from an “Indian scout” who volunteered. I have my own reasons to fight with the blue-coats. But my advice is battle tested against my own kind – sinners! 😎

I have been looking for ways to serve for years that kept the locus of ministry within the local church. But this isn’t how God has used me in the past, and looking forward it doesn’t seem that my future calling would be able to work this way either. As an example, starting a Christian fellowship and Bible group at work just doesn’t fit well as a ministry of a local church.
You are correct then to say I don’t need human or institutional approval to pursue the calling. I had a bad experience years ago with a prior church that was extremely controlling when it came to anyone doing ministry – they would not allow anything unless they ‘confirmed’ the calling. My father advised me at the time that many churches have no concept of what it means for an individual to have a calling in their life.
In short: Expand your thinking.
Don’t be ashamed to do what God called you to.
As to the other question, “How to help believers recognize the spiritual reality of the present” I need to think through this more. You are right there are many layers of deception going on – attempts to control and manipulate believers in the churches toward specific politically motivated ends. It’s not worth going into all the detail here – I’m very aware of the problem.
Too many believers see all these aspects of culture as things happening out there, or as “political” and therefore they don’t want to dirty their “spiritual” practice engaging it. Generally they just don’t recognize the resurgent paganism in spiritual terms, or recognize that countering spiritual warfare means using spiritual weapons and tactics. Many would rather give money to a legal defense fund and only fight that way – that’s great, we need it, but you’re waiting until the enemy is in the gates before you fight back, which is hardly the church militant going on the spiritual offensive against the forces of darkness – who should be in full retreat!

With the disruption last night of communication networks, and the failure of electrical transformers across the U.S., here’s something I think we need to keep in mind. This Wikipedia entry details a coordinated sniper attack in 2013 on 17 transformers at a California electrical substation, and the cutting of fiber optic communication cables in the same area, and on the same night.
The focus has been on the attack being a domestic terrorist attack. Those responsible for it have yet to be caught. No fingerprints were on the rifle shell casings left behind. A tightly run operation, not since repeated.

Henry Waxman, a ranking member of the United States House Committee on Energy and Commerce, stated that the attack was “an unprecedented and sophisticated attack on an electric grid substation with military-style weapons. Aftermath
Seventeen transformers were seriously damaged, requiring over $15 million worth of repairs. To avert a black-out, energy grid officials were forced to reroute power from nearby Silicon Valley based power plants.[2][10] While some nearby neighborhoods temporarily lost power, “the big users weren’t even aware Metcalf had happened”, according to an expert from the Electric Power Research Institute.[1]
Both PG&E, the company which operated the transformers, and AT&T offered $250,000 rewards for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators of the attack.[6][11]
In June 2014, PG&E announced that it intended to spend $100 million over a three-year span on upgrading security at substations throughout its territory, including the Metcalf location.[12]
A July 2014 report from the Congressional Research Service titled Physical Security of the U.S. Power Grid: High-Voltage Transformer Substations repeatedly cited the attack and noted that, “… in the wake of the Metcalf incident, the FERC has ordered the imposition of mandatory physical security standards (for substations) in 2014.”[13][14]

I have looked at plenty of power plants, substations etc. Do not recall seeing Chinese transformers. Some Chinese hydroelectric units. There are plenty of transformer manufacturers in the US. The issue is the lead time to build bigger ones or to even repair them. That is why larger facilities will have on site spares or a “pool” spare that can be shipped to different sites.
The vunerability of “hacking” the grid is way over blown and there are a lot of redundancies in the system. I would be more concerned with a large solar event then anything else. Akin to an EMP issue although systems are better protected to deal with surges compared to the Carrington Event.
Transformers do fail but the larger ones are tested regularly and you can actually tell if a unit is trending toward failure. Utilities and insurance companies have too much on the line with this type of equipment so maintenance and upkeep is a very big deal.
Judging from just PG&E’s performance in this respect, I wouldn’t be so sanguine about the level of upkeep and maintenance being done. And although the boulevard-magazine image of hacking doesn’t occur (nor do martians kidnap people’s dogs), professional and state-sponsored cracking into various infrastructure points and facilities does occur, and not just of the power grid. SCADA and other frameworks have had their issues…
No system is perfect. It is just the news makes it seems like the “grid” can be easily cracked and hacked which I would consider to be an over statement.
As to PG&E, I would look closer at the regulatory environment they have to work in as a bigger issue for them. California is essentially regulating themselves into future regular blackouts.

itswoot, One thing that we need to keep in mind is that most of the major corruption is in these huge sanctuary cities that hold the fly over country in total contempt.
These huge cities will suffer the most in a power grid attack. That has to register in the dElite’s brains.
The people in flyover country have access to water, food, guns for hunting food, land to grow food and many other things that the people in the big cities do not have.

I was only able to do it by using a magnifying glass to catch the 7-digit post number from the tweet, and then by going to the 8chans (the “Catalog” page). Once there, it was a bit of hit-or-miss until I found the right “bread” which contained that post number.
One of the rules, btw, of 8chan is that one should NEVER link to any post. Copy the contents of a post, and post elsewhere, fine. But no direct links.
The site itself is (remove brackets) [https:]//8ch.net/patriotsfight.html . Once one goes there, READ the instructions, and then toward the bottom just click on the “Catalog” link.
This will take one to a page filled with small icons. Many of these are sequentially numbered, and the most recent bread has the largest number (4 digits, right now). But there are others, not numbered, which are usually topic-specific. Click on the image, at the top of one of the “postage-stamp” sized numbered icons, and in a few secs one will be at the top of that bread / thread (each contains 750 posts, I believe).
Btw, the shills / clowns are there in DROVES today – lotta divisive posts, lotta porn and racist stuff, so beware. I take it to mean that they (the enemy) know that the hammer is about to drop on them, so they are panicking something fierce.
