This ACTION NOVEMBER [1119] Q-PER TUESDAY open thread is VERY OPEN – a place for everybody to post whatever they feel they would like to tell the White Hats, and the rest of the MAGA / KAG! / KMAG world (KMAG being a bit of both MAGA and KAG!).

You can say what you want, comment on what other people said, and so on.

Free Speech is practiced here. ENJOY IT. Use it or lose it.

However, we have a new policy. Starting 20191110. Keep it SOMEWHAT civil.

We have a new board – actually a new SITE – called The U Tree – where people can take each other to the woodshed without fear of censorship or moderation. NOT HERE.

This board will remain a REFUGE for those who need civility, either some or all of the time.

Our rules began with the civility of the Old Treehouse, later to become the Wolverinian Empire, and one might say that we have RESTORED THE OLD REPUBLIC – the early high-interaction model of the Treehouse – except of course that Q discussion is not only allowed but encouraged, and speech is considerably freer in other ways. Please feel free to argue and disagree with the board owner, as nicely as possible.

Please also consider the Important Guidelines, outlined here in the January 1st open thread. Let’s not give the odious Internet Censors a reason to shut down this precious haven.

Now – let me put in a nice word for two people who are ACTUALLY doing something about “gun violence”, which I prefer to call “cultural Marxist violence”, or “religious suppression violence”, but let’s not quibble. For the purposes of common terms, I’ll temporarily assent to using THEIR TERM, “gun violence”, but I’ll put JEFFERSON QUOTES around it.

The two people are WILLIAM BARR and MIKE DEWINE.

First, let’s look at Attorney General William Barr. Many of us who DEFEND ON GUNS have been screaming for years that NICS needed to be fixed – that OBAMA and HOLDER had intentionally let it go to hell so that they could get propaganda killings that they needed.

Even when we got the chance to FIX IT when Democrats were out of the White House, far too many of us just breathed a sigh of relief and didn’t push to “git ‘er done”.

So who’s next on the “thank you” list? I’d say it’s the guy who was the ACTUAL target of THIS operation:

Yup. Governor MIKE DEWINE of OHIO. Under intense pressure, he has stood up for DUE PROCESS to the point that state gun rights advocates have ENDORSED his approach to “doing something” about gun violence while NOT “doing something” about that pesky Constitution which seems to bother our STALINIST PROGS so much.

Here is the money quote

“Nothing we are doing places new restrictions on a law-abiding citizen from owning a gun,” said Lt. Governor Husted. “These proposals are focused on keeping guns out of the hands of people who are prevented from owning a gun by enhancing law enforcement’s ability to enforce current law.”

It’s true that this bill contains what some are calling a “red flag” component, but there was so much trepidation about infringing due process, that the final result is almost better described as an expediting of existing court order processes, to meet the “red flag schedule”. I personally don’t find the “red flag” component a showstopper, but as always, I remain suspicious, and await more comments from all sides.

I love that part about “right to subpoena witnesses”. People have no idea how much power that puts back into the hands of law-abiding gun owners and truth-tellers. NO idea. It’s literally nuclear. That MUST stay in the law, at FULL STRENGTH, or it’s no good.
