What a week we’ve had. Are you guys burned out on Coronavirus? If I hear one more shrieking pundit, wearing a bottle of Purrell for a hat, I’m gonna scream. The media has lost their collective mind – I’m waiting for Jake Tapper to show up at CNN in a HAZMAT suit, ….give lessons on how to put it on/take it off….. Hey, maybe CNN can sell HAZMAT suits on QVC to their terrified viewers to boost the profits of their lagging network. Maybe…. we could put some Swarovski crystals on Jake Tapper’s suit…….. I’m laughing now…… and he could be a Rhinestone Cowboy! I digress….
The whole thing is crazy, BUT crazy breeds opportunity. This afternoon, I checked out of politics, got my work done, and was surfing the net like a woman on a mission. Big T walked past my computer screen and stopped on a dime.
- Big T: Whatcha doin’, babe?
- Me: I’m shopping for real estate in Italy.
- Big T(looking closer at my screen): You want to buy the Villa Borghese? Don’t think the Italians will like that idea.
- Me: Well…….. no. Looking for a little place close by….
- Big T: You couldn’t afford a closet-sized studio in Rome right now.
- Me (convinced): Their real estate market will crash……, just watch and wait for it.
- Big T (shaking his head but curious): Try Sicily….
The market is out of control and dumbstruck. No one has good information – thus the default becomes “hysteria”. Yet, a LOT of people are making a “whole lotta” money. Politicians are weaponizing the fear, ……. typical………., and China is probably laughing at us by now. Everyone needs to go to the beach for a weekend and gain some perspective.
While the rest of America is in line at Costco buying toilet paper, don’t you wish you knew what was going on behind the scenes while we’re all distracted?
Do you realize it was 3 weeks ago when we were at Daytona?
Do you realize Impeachment was only 5 weeks ago? Seems like 10yrs ago.
SOTU was only a month ago!
Who is ready to go back to India? That was only 9 days ago.

Take comfort, however, the media simply cannot keep up the fever pitch of hysteria on Coronavirus for TWO more weeks. Note, today the convenient “survey/polling” came out on “how has Trump handled the virus”. Of course, that will give the media fuel and fake headlines for the Sunday shows………. but at some point……. the Coronavirus turns into another Flight 370…… with media speculation about black holes and aliens. It’s almost over, call it a day. Corona virus will hopefully fade away like a bad prom disco song.
Meanwhile, Andre, my happy postman showed up about noon today. He rang the bell because he wanted to stop and talk.
Our dog, Bucket always tells us when Andre is close by. Andre keeps Puperoni treats in his pocket for her, and Bucket knows the sound of his mail truck. Andre was exasperated today. I brought him some iced tea.
- Andre (Big Sigh): Thank GOD the ba$tard dwarf Bloomberg is out of the race!!!!!!!
- Me, surprised. Known Andre for at least 10yrs and we’ve never talked politics.
- Big T (laughing): Oh yeah, how come?
- Andre: I’m tired of carrying his crap! Literature and mailers flooded the local office. His $hit is everywhere! Guess we can dump the rest of it!!!!!!!!! Ha-ha-ha. I’m so sick of him.
- Big T (confused): Really? I haven’t seen any…..
- Andre (Laughing and smirking, eyes popping out of his head): Oh no, you wouldn’t. They KNOW who you are. You’re a Repub. The King of the dwarves is only sending his $hit to the “black” section of town. Poor Ronnie…. you know Ronnie….. (Big T, nodding)…… he was ready to quit his job. Mail TRIPLED!

- Andre (Nodding): Miss Daughn, they’re targeting people……
Tell us something we don’t know, Andre. Hmmm…., Andre had no Muskrat Love for Bloomberg.
- Andre (throwing his hands in the air): And now we’re on to BIDEN???? Who promoted him from water boy to college quarterback overnight? He’s crazy.
- Big T (fascinated by Andre’s reaction and letting him run): What do you think about Biden? I thought he was the middle of the road guy?
- Andre (coming unglued): Middle of the road????!!!???? He can’t decide what he stands for. Was he the guy who shot the .22 off the back porch (Good snag Andre, forgot about that sound bite) or does he want Beto to take our guns? Was he for the working man in PA, or does he now want to ban oil and gas. Biden is all over the place…….. will say anything to anyone.
- Me………. thinking……… Biden is Andy Gibb. Worst song, ever.
- Andre (walking back down the brick path to his mail truck): All I know is, don’t trust a word Biden says and don’t let him near your wife or daughter.
- Big T (He couldn’t resist it, yelling at Andre, who was almost to his truck: So, I guess you’re voting for the Communist on Tuesday (our primary is this Tuesday).
- Andre (stopped dead and spun back, pointing his finger): Mr. T, you know those are fightin’ words. America will never be a ” social”shit” ” country.
- Me: I’m going to remember that line……
Okay, we dug up all the bad songs from the 70’s we could find because that’s what Bloomberg ads were like………. an overplayed AM radio disco song. Hope we didn’t give you an ear worm. But we did forget to talk about Pocahontas/Liz Warren exiting the stage, and this awful song from the 70’s.

It’s good to have a reminder when it seems that the world is going crazy. . . when things seem like they’re totally NUTS . . .

Funny, that’s just about the same reaction my mailman has to “election season”.
That reminded me…..the largest volume of election materials was a “no on Measure C” campaign that was supported by Jeb York (the man who stole $4,000 from every man, woman, child, and babe-in-arms in the City of Santa Clara), the NAACP, the racist hack who is the state AG, La Raza, and every other loathsome group and slimy politician around here. I, of course, voted yes.
So, out of curiosity, I figured I’d mosey over and see what happened (I’m less than totally interested because I’m leaving). Both the County Registrar of Voters and the San Jose Smirking News wanted to run scripts on my machine for me to see any results.
Just think about this for a second…..in order to see the results of a public election, I’m first supposed to let some strangers with some stake in the election system run some arbitrary programs on my computer? Programs that might seek to identify me and log personal information about me? Programs that may, themselves, be corrupted by one of the hacking groups targeting government agencies? Programs where I cannot see the source — and, even if I could, hardly have time to even do a cursory check of what the program actually does?
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Think not!

Except that the original developer got tired of it and sold it off in 2017. Someone else owns this add-on and it now adds a call to a malicious function to everything the browser modifies — and, since the original add-on was useful for web developers, this means lots of web pages.
And everyone and their brother-in-law expect me to run random scripts from people not personally vetted?!?!?!?

Ok. Sure. Well, we don’t talk politics but he starts by saying that the reason he switched was because of HRC. Said there was no way in hell he was voting for her so he voted for Trump. Said he could not stand HRC and does not get people who voted for her. No love for piggy or shifty. He made a great epstein joke and talked about them being linked to epstein.
Said that Trump is bring manufacturing back to the USA from China. That’s a good thing. Likes he 401K a lot!!! SO do the others he works with. He loves that Trump will not take his guns.
He said the biggest difference is what the Dem party used to be about 50 so years ago vs what it is today. He said its not longer his party.

One lady I knew years ago had a female problem, v. painful, that prevented her from conceiving.
It took five agonising years of treatment which largely went nowhere before she and her husband decided to adopt a lovely baby girl. That child has enriched their life in so many ways.
I also know of women who have miscarried, not only once but a couple of times. One went on to have two daughters. The other case is a bit more recent. The heartbreak they felt along with the self-recrimination took ages for them to get over.
and what happens when you realize one day what you’ve done? that you killed another person? how do you live with that? at least with adoption, if the adoptive parents are willing and the child is wiling, you could get to know them later in life…

I thought the name Treuhaft sounded vaguely familiar. Then, I ran across (halfway down the article) the name Jessica Mitford (his wife). She was one of the sisters of the late Duchess of Devonshire and a radical Democrat.
The daughter from her first marriage to Esmond Romilly was nicknamed Donk; that was Jessica’s idea, as the Duchess said in one of her memoirs.
The Mitfords were a bit of a high society family that had fallen on hard times.

But with India itself sourcing 13 of the 26 APIs from Hubei province in China, the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak, it is widely assumed that India is moving to protect its own populace from any possible shortages.

I would recommend not posting here often or at all, if you want to stay on CTH. Some people have tried to come up with various ways to post at both, but in the end it’s likely that you will be banned there eventually if you post here.

So that commenter who constantly posts negative is actually a moderator (at least a moderator) as I was then instantly banned after that comment he/she made.
I posted under the OT name at marica1776 and had done so at PHC’s short-lived blog. I hesitated to do so as I didn’t want to be banned but also wanted him to know I was still visiting him…wasn’t sure if he remembered both of my names. He probably did as he was sharp until the end. But just in case, I wanted to make sure. Snide comment about me posting over with my little group…childish, pointless and pathetic.
Day that PHC passed, I posted the new along with a music video on OT open thread. It was deleted within 45 min (maybe sooner). I mentioned No other blogs. Again, so petty.
At this point, it is what it is. Happy here. I am the same on Q as I have always been…interested but focused on Doing v. waiting and watching. I am somewhere in between the Q hardcore believers rose colored glasses vision and the it ain’t going to happen brown colored glasses vision…hoping and wanting to believe Q is 100% accurate and yet reality, on this issue, pointing toward a Real fight behind the scenes but not a guaranteed, clear cut path to certain victory on draining the swamp and ending the corruption of the Uniparty. So…I will keep doing ALL I can to support President Trump and to drain the local feeders swamp and pray and hope and only scan OT so as to keep the info coming in and avoid discouragement that might slow me down.

I had found all the “missing” posters here briefly before that and was excited to see everyone was still around. Shortly after that message relay, I could no longer even like a comment over there 🤷.
What bothered me more than anything was the way PHC was treated, especially considering the circumstances with his illness. That was cruel. I always sought out Wolfie’s posts OT, along with PHC, BKR, Ristvan, Wheatie and a few others, even though I didn’t post as much as I do here.

Forgive me for revisiting the Bloomberg.Williams math tweet problem, but I see it differently and want someone to explain where I’m going wrong.
If Bloomberg has 500m and gives each of 327m people 1m, then each person has 1m and Bloomberg has 173m left. 500m minus 327m = 173m.
If you have $25 and you give each of 20 people $1, then each of the 20 people has $1 and you have $5 left. It is not correct to divide 25 by 20 to get the amount that each person received. 25 divided by 20 = 1.25. Clearly, each person did not receive $1.25; they received $1 and you have $5 left.
So it doesn’t seem correct to divide 500m by 327m and say that each person receives $1.52.
25 divided by 20 = 1.25.
500m divided by 327m = 1.52.
500 divided by 327 = 1.52.
This division does not seem like the correct way to look at this problem. Dividing 500m by 327m only gives you the number of times that 327 will go into 500. Since that number is greater than 1 (1.529), then clearly each of the 327m people gets the “1” ($1m), with money left over for Bloomberg to keep ($173m).
So division is not the answer; subtraction is. 500m minus 327m = 173m. He gives away 327m and has 173m left.

I spoke to him today. what would you like to know? He just got back from a long vacation and prior to that was focused on something required his attention. Actually still requires his attention. He never mentioned anything about you….I didn’t see it either. So impossible to comment on it.
I think you folks would be surprised if you had a chance to talk with him. Very gracious and kind. Not the best in these forums but very good in person. Absolutely certain you would enjoy his company.

After my head injury, I was a total mess. I could not control my thoughts. I was getting dizzy and falling all the time. Headaches were intense and never ending. I was getting emotional and depressed at the same time. I isolated myself and used forums like these to connect with the world (often very poorly). Tona always took time to talk to me and treated me with respect and kindness. Never let my obvious excesses ruin our friendship. I told him things that very few have heard from me. He never wavered. Always gracious. Always.
I can’t say the same for other people I knew. They ran away from my craziness quickly. I can’t say that I blame them either. More important things in their lives than to deal with me. Tona was different. He hung in there. Often, we would talk for 2 hours at a time. As my mind started clearing, I understood what friendship actually means. He represents everything that was good about that concept. For his dedication to me in the face of my nonsense, I will always defend him. Always. I know him very well now.
Ok, now on to you and your husband. We have talked about you. He always says the nicest things. Actually quite complimentary. You would enjoy hearing those conversations. One of the things he is not good at is his written version of his thoughts in these kinds of forums. He’s a very bright guy. Very apparent when you talk to him. Unfortunately, he is also direct and uncensored. Yes, that is a fault. Yes he should not have approached this topic they way he did. He regrets that. He knows the anger he generated. In person, you would like him enormously. Unfortunately, that is not obvious in the way he writes. He’s been on and off about adding comments to forums now for a while. Long before the interaction with you and your husband.
So why do I say this? I feel obligated to defend a high quality individual like him who stood by me when many would not. I also know that the two of you are great people who deserve our respect. While I cannot fix what has happened, I can only offer my point of view so you can see behind the veil a bit. You obviously don’t like how he addressed things and I don’t blame you at all. I just wanted to offer my insight so perhaps the tension can be lessened.
I am quite aware that each day is a blessing for me and for all of us. Tonawanda was instrumental in helping me get better. He did not have to do that. He was dealing with his own personal things that were far more pressing. I kept asking him if I could share that but he would never let me. He is one of those people that I feel fortunate to have met.
I hope you take this kindly. I am absolutely certain that it is possible to bridge differences between parties. Whoever was right or wrong. Doesn’t matter to me. Lots of opinions get expressed in these forums. Many wind up being incorrect. I could write a book at how many times I fail. Yet I persist. Maybe yesterday I messed up but today could be my very best day. So that teaches me to look at the good in everyone. I ask for that now. Probably against your instincts.

Tona’s reactions to me was out of left field and made no sense then, nor now. OBVIOUSLY, something else was going on which had nothing to do with me, but the attack persisted to the point of being offensive, out of line, and became personal…. which was confusing and really didn’t make sense.
I have no ill will, and it’s impossible for me to carry a grudge.
Did I tear him to shreds at the time? Yes, because it was due. I committed to him I would respond. Even waited 24 hours. I thought it would be better to take the issue to U Tree, which is what I did. Once that was done, to me, it was over with.

It’s hard for me to address anything beyond the Judge’s rulings right at this point. Just be patient and let things happen. It’s not over. I note that Sullivan has had the opportunity to shut this down with more hardass rulings but he hasn’t. So it makes me wonder what is going on in his head. I can’t speak to the corruption angle. A second case of the Wuhan/SARS2 coronavirus has been confirmed in NORTH CAROLINA.
The person, who lives in Chatham County, came back at the end of February from a trip TO ITALY.
He came down with fever and flu-like symptoms WHILE IN Italy. The fever stopped and the symptoms “improved”, so he FLEW BACK to the U.S. at the END of February.
NOW he has a confirmed case of the virus.
So this person was carrying the virus IN ITALY. He STILL had the virus in his body after his fever stopped but ALSO while his other symptoms were still present. He interacted with an UNKOWN NUMBER of people from the 3rd week of February until TODAY, when he was put into self-isolation at home.
Meanwhile — per 106.1FM Talk Radio, Raleigh, 1PM news report:
North Carolina patient #1, in Raleigh, NOT ONLY went to dinner at So-Ca, a popular restaurant in Raleigh last Saturday, February 29 — he ALSO ATTENDED SERVICE at a Lutheran church in Raleigh on Sunday, March 1.
This man tested positive for the virus on TUESDAY, March 3.

If memory serves me correct the last time they had a good music festival in Austin was during Aqua Fest.
Aqua Fest was awesome in the ‘80’s. But local politics and problems killed it in the ‘90’s. Last one was in ‘97 I think. Aero-Fest, a spin-off from Aqua Fest held at then Bergstrom AF base, was also kick ass, but it stopped when the base closed in the early ‘90’s. In ‘02 the first ACL Fest was held at Zilker Park. First 5 years were great, although I about choked to death in ‘05 due to the ungodly dust. Last one I went to was in ‘10 when the Eagles headlined.
My fondest musical experience was a little dive in Austin and Dale Watson performed a classic.

This is getting crazy.
The second case of the Wuhan/SARS2 coronavirus in North Carolina, a man in Chatham County, apparently was exposed to the virus while IN ITALY last month, in an area there that had a HIGH CONCENTRATION of cases. In Italy, he came down with a fever and other symptoms. The fever stopped but the other symptoms remained.
THEN he flew back to the United States the last week of February.
Here’s where it gets crazy:
The man apparently flew to GEORGIA when he got back to the U.S. He had contact, WHILE CONTAGIOUS, with a 46-year-old female in FLOYD COUNTY, Georgia. Then he went back to his home in North Carolina. It was GEORGIA health officials who contacted North Carolina health officials about the man; whereupon they came to his house in Chatham County, collected samples, tested them, and he tested positive for the virus. The woman in Georgia also tested positive.
So now this man had contact with NUMEROUS people, while contagious (he was contagious even though his fever stopped while in Italy), including people in Italy, North Carolina AND Georgia, up until today. And on every airplane he traveled on. And so on.
Health officials in both North Carolina and Georgia are now searching to find as many people who may have been in contact with the man and the woman as possible, so they can be tested for the virus.
Did I forget to mention today how much I loathe CNN?

As far as I understood, please correct if inaccurate.
Over 1 million test have been shipped to all the State labs. Another million on the the way. Every State lab can now test for the virus. Private Business labs like Quest, LabCorp and others have formed a consortium and are working together to develop a test for commercial use. It may take several weeks to get to market.
If you feel ill, you should call your Dr. first who will then contact local Public Health Officials. Depending on your travel history, location, and symptoms they will send you for a test. There’s still not enough tests yet, so they are going to use discretion. Exception of course is if you’re having an emergency, then go to hospital.
The FDA will be releasing more info about the tests soon. Since you can test negative before you eventually test positive, the # of tests needed is complicated, i.e., one test per person is not sufficient.
The CDC has extensive data collection/mapping/managing software and they have all the hotspots under close surveillance.
