A recent thing I’ve noticed happening with the site known as Next Door.
Normally with Next Door all the communications posted there concern literally next door. That is your immediate neighborhood and one and two removed from you neighborhood, say in a radius of about 10 miles.
Also any comments that don’t concern the immediate neighborhood are stricken as soon as the censors find them. Thus they keep Next Door free of any political talk.
Recently though I’ve been finding stories that are far out side of my neighborhood and all deal with having lost someone because they did not take the vaccine. It’s such an obvious ploy to tug on peoples fear and emotions when one recognizes that your being exposed to something that may or may not be true that is coming from far away, when that is not the norm.
Anyway, since none of the stories can be run to ground as being true, was thinking maybe something like a horse wormer success story is in order just to see how fast it gets taken down. 🙂
Like everything else online that is “free”, you are being bought and sold. If you have the time, you should create separate “identities” for everything you do online and maintain them apart from each other. I haven’t been particularly good about doing that here because I soon will relocate to another state and separate a bunch then. There was one property I was looking at that had four driveways, each of which could have a street address…..heh, heh, heh…..
Quite a bit of internet security has been “go along to get along”. I’m at the point where “I owe these people NOTHING!!!” If someone wants to SSH me on port 22, I want to tell them I’m running a Tandem NonStop system (a lie, they were bought by Compaq in ’97, then HP, then spun-off to HP Enterprise), I want to tell them that I am in the UTC+5:45 time zone (Nepal, another lie) and that I require an RSA-2048 bit key to log on…..then have no actual way to log in on port 22.
Why should ANYTHING I tell them be other than an outright lie?
Whenever you sign up for catalogs, use a different middle initial. Whenever you fill in an address, add a suite number (I live at 123 Elm St., suite F[-OFF]). Get in the habit of being truthful only with those who are being straight with you…..and you’ll be surprised how seldom you feel the urge.

The mask is all about conformity.
I heard yesterday of a group putting on a concert where they are going to sing through masks. How? The point of the music is communication through beauty. The words should be understood. This is why we spend countless hours doing exercises using all consonants, so that they are crisp and clear. A mask obscures that.
And groups around here are still pushing them, even the Archdiocese. Cantors don’t have to wear them, but everybody else does and it’s ridiculous.
The Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur services I attended this month at Central Synagogue (New York City) via the internet — only the officiating rabbis did NOT wear masks. The congregation, by and large, did, even though they had to be “fully vaccinated” in order to attend. The only exception was for children under age 16, and the under-16’s had to wear masks.
What got me were the musicians and the choir — ALL were masked. I noticed that they ALL were starting to have trouble well before the end of the service — taking more frequent breaths; pitch and uniformity of ensemble were getting a little “fuzzy”; the clarinet player was substituting improvs lower down in the clarinet scale. And every one of the musicians was a very well trained professional.
Pitch suffering is interesting. Although, if there was brain fog related, I could see where that would come into play.
The breath issue…it’s just not doable the way we are supposed to prepare. It just isn’t. There are those that will argue, but singing and wind instrument playing are athletic endeavors even if the musicians do not look like athletes. Strings players have athletic issues as well. Masks simply do not allow for proper performance standards. They just don’t.
And the singers were all standing at least 6 feet apart from each other, to boot.
The clarinet player had a mask on that had some sort of “double layer” arrangement in the mouth area, so he could have the mouthpiece in his mouth but his face was still completely covered with his mask.
Oy.
The distance isn’t good for pitch, either.
I can’t wait for this to all be over.
Folks refuse to wear a mask AND it WILL end.

However I don’t think this is really complete as you can look past Christian as well as Jewish history into the ancient past and see that the same charges were leveled against some of the most ancient cities in Mesopotamia stemming from the cult worship by various sects, mostly dealing with the goddess Inanna, but others as well. Meditation, examination of conscience and understanding are all vital, ongoing and important, but they also are matters of gratitude, the need of help, or both.
“Thank you, God” is my favorite prayer.
Mine, too. A person can be in constant prayer with that prayer.
And “help me, Jesus,” or “help us.” Jesus knows what is meant.
Although I love to pray “thank you” or “help” to the Holy Spirit, WHO in my experience is a powerful Comfort and Friend. The Holy Spirit is miraculous and merciful.

Praying for the country, and any number of other things, of course, is necessary. I’ve found, though, that the most helpful thing(s) to pray for are the graces and virtues I lack. Humility, patience, etc. And then freedom from the vices that block the virtue.

None of us knows for sure. My own guess is that TPTB are doing what they are doing precisely because they know they are in complete control, and have nothing to fear. Their plans are truly coming to fruition. I say that knowing it is a guess.
OTOH, the surge of “they are in … panic … disarray … absolute fear … hopelessly divided …” etc etc, articles in numerous venues, all in the past several weeks, strikes me as a psy-op, a Sun Tzu “when you are strong appear to be weak” type of psy-op. But that is just a guess also. The explosion of such messages looks to be coordinated and unjustified, although Sundance also subscribes to the “they are gripped by fear” narrative.

@darrelnay Fake citizens, generated by computers. The Democrats have been very busy. I discovered these “fake citizens” when somebody committed COVID unemployment fraud on me. I managed to figure out who had submitted the fake documentation. I tracked them down and discovered that the person was not real. But in the process of finding THAT fake person, I found HUNDREDS of others that were similarly constructed – by an algorithm. And they were all CITIZENS per the 2010 US Census. So it appears that under Obama, the IRS and other departments involved with the Census created millions of FAKE PEOPLE. They don’t just use them for voting – they use them to drain money from the Treasury to Democrats via various scams.

The Maricopa results have all been covered here, but this summary was IMO the most cogent short analysis of the audit findings AND the potential criminal/legal consequences for the wrongdoing. The salient point, which was a minor let down, was that the audit did not (and could not) prove that Trump won. The other hard truth is the completely murky question of what to do with the elections results.
The good aspect is that the election was indisputably proven to be corrupt and categorically unreliable.

They finally took his control away several months ago and he was fired/resigned. Times this all over the country. Even L.A. with a dang lcsw as their health head…..

At the Church where I sing downtown, we had a Baptism this morning. This is more common at my parents’ parish, but it’s a matter of the population surrounding the parish. Anyway, I’m used to the family walking in and the gentlemen being in coats and ties and the ladies dressed. Yeah, the family did come in numbers, and I was sort of taken aback at the casualness. The baby was in a beautiful white Christening gown. She cried through the whole thing, and was fussy all through Mass.
Then I had to stop at a craft store, and one of the women in line was wearing a sweatshirt a la “Flashdance” with the neckline cut out and the shoulder drooping on the left side. Of course, she had a colorful band-aid right over the spot that would take a shot. The narcissism is just off the charts.
People have lost sight of the fact that formal wear is a sign of respect for the setting/occasion…
…and outward sign of the inner mindset.
Contrast people going to a christening in casual wear vs. a job interview in coat and tie.
I won’t miss today’s world when I die.
The casualness is just driving me up a wall. Knowing how to dress for all occasions was drilled into us. I was just the cantor and in a simple little black dress with some accessories, but nothing over the top, and I was more dressed up.
I am still dressing for occasion. I notices many young people think when dressing up is old people.
I am shocked how people dress for work in management position.

They need to shut it down to aid in the aneurysm surgery, which will be scheduled several days after that procedure.

Fantastic news.Yes that is how they do it no more opening up. My husband had something similar one day hospital stay. I stayed with him in the room they made sleeping arrangement for me. My husband benefited from it it gave comfort that he was not alone in the room.
