It was hard to choose what to open with today. One of American Thinker’s excellent slate of essays on Tuesday was one thought.

In Defense of the Bourgeoisie

…The bourgeoisie class is the democratic peoples of America. Progressives know this which is why they speak the language of “the middle class” constantly while enacting policies meant to crush middle-class aspirations and dreams.

Civil society is rooted in free association and law and order. In the past few years, progressives have revealed how antagonistic they truly are toward civil society. Free association? That is just a front for white supremacy and bigotry. Law and order? That is just another manifestation of white supremacy, racism, and bigotry! COVID lockdowns, which are also antithetical to the vibrancy of civil society, were all the rage from progressive politicians and their fawning media lackeys determined to extinguish civil society and remake the ruins subservient to the federal Leviathan. (In the name of public safety, of course.)

In the attack on civil society, constitutional liberties have been regularly assailed and abused. Churches and other houses of worship have been closed and vandalized. Freedom of assembly has been rebuked as public health crises and “super spreader” events. Voicing frustration with the erosion of civil liberties also warrants de-platforming and banning on social media—with gleeful progressives cheering against those rascally middle-class Americans defending American values and liberties against tyranny.

The attack on businesses, especially small businesses—the quintessential emblems of the entrepreneurial spirit—is not accidental either. Once again progressives engage in their sleight of hand by claiming their policies are aimed at helping small businesses while engaging in business shutdowns, lockdowns, and impossible mandates that would cripple the real cornerstone of middle-class prosperity: small business ownership rather than corporate desk jobs. Not to mention burdensome inflation which is an unwritten tax that falls hardest on middle-class Americans. (But Joe Biden and his allies say they are not increasing taxes, so it must be true.)…

The essay’s discussion regards the writings of one James Burnham.

James Burnham has become a hot topic for writers and intellectuals again because of his analysis of the “administrative state.” Among other things, Burnham also wrote back the 1960s of the dangerous precipice that Western Civilization faced — which we see today. But one of his lesser-known works is The Machiavellians and, throughout his opus, he is also a staunch defender of middle-class capitalism and republicanism, something he saw as emanating from the bourgeois peoples that emerged in Europe and then spread to America.

And then in the midst of the Twitter feed popped up an essay review – the second this writer has seen in the last week – of a reprint of a 1967 book, Prayer as a Political Problem (1967), Jean Danielou, SJ. Patrick Deneen of “The Postliberal Order” writes:

The word common derives from the Proto-Indo-European, Ko-moin-i; later, in the Latin “Communis”; and eventually in the French word comun, meaning: “common, general, free, open, public, but also, “shared by all or many, familiar, not pretentious.”

Combined with the word “good,” we can see that a common good consists in those needs and concerns that are identified in the ordinary requirements of ordinary people. The common good is the sum of the needs that arise from the bottom up, and which can be more or less supplied, encouraged, and fortified from the top-down.  In a good society, the goods that are “common” are daily reinforced by the habits and practices of ordinary people. Those habits and practices form the common culture, such as through the virtues of thrift, honesty, and good memory.  However, once such a common culture is weakened or destroyed, the only hope is a renewal and reinvigoration by a responsible governing class.  A politics of the common good makes a good life more likely, even the default, for commoners. 

Thus, the common good is always either served or undermined by a political order – there is no neutrality on the matter. Emphasizing this point in his indispensable book Prayer as a Political Problem (1967), Jean Danielou, SJ, wrote:  “Politics ought to have care of the common good, that is to say, the duty of creating an order in which personal fulfillment is possible, where man might be able to completely fulfill his destiny.”

Danielou pointed to the duty of those charged with leading the political order not to deprive ordinary people of the ability both to participate in and realize the essential goods of human life.  It is not enough to ensure their freedom to pursue such goods; rather, it is the duty of the political order to positively guide them, and provide the conditions for the enjoyment of, the goods of human life.  “Religious liberty,” “academic freedom,” “free markets,” and “checks and balances,” etc., are no substitutes for piety, truth, equitable prosperity, and good government.  The liberal order maintains that the absence of constraint in these and all other domains is the sufficient condition for people to attain fulfillment.  The liberal sovereign treats all people equally, assuming that radically free human beings are equally capable of achieving the goods of human life. It is the liberal equivalent of the old Anatole France quip, “The law, in its majestic equality, forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal their bread.”

What we should notice is that it is ordinary people – the “working class,” citizens in “flyover country,” “essential workers” – are increasingly those who enjoy theoretical liberty and few of the substantive goods that are supposed to flow from their individual choice.  As a political order, we have provided them “the pursuit of happiness,” but deprived them of happiness.

The piece goes on to discuss the antagonism between the elites and those for whom they set the rules.

Thanking everybody for your patience. Whether happenstance, coincidence, or enemy action, I’m dealing with some technical issues. In addition to those, and the obvious spiritual attacks, I am dealing with the obvious site stuff in what are best maintained as unobvious ways.

I suspect we struck a nerve.

A combined technical / spiritual / strategic response by all of us will prevent this attack from succeeding. Hold the line – bite the bullet – gird the loins – bite the lip – pray for guidance, discernment, and strength – whatever YOU believe keeps the ship aright for the moment. Everything else is lower priority.

In that spirit, the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel from Tuesday’s threads, and the Breastplate of St. Patrick, not to mention the Litany of Humility are favorites recommended by exorcists in spiritual warfare.

It’s scary how people follow orders even when they know those orders are hurting someone else. I think children have to be raised to be independent thinkers, not people-pleasers. We have to know that it’s okay to not be liked by some people and not to give in to pressure.

One thing to look into is that many programs have a “dark theme” which is meant to be legible when all the room lights are out and not have too much blue light to keep you wired when you try to sleep.

Reading at the computer w/ these glasses is still a bit of a pain though. But at least it’s not nearly vertigo AND headache inducing like it was last week. Small favors.

My neighbors are used to this, but I’ll frequently go out on the sidewalk in front of my house and look east and west. We live on the floor of a wide valley, and about 10 miles west are redwood-covered hills. When the air quality is good, it should look furry because you can distinguish individual trees. About 10 miles east are scrub-colored hills with occasional oaks, and buildings on top.

After enough computing, it might take half-an-hour to be able to see the hills as anything more than dark and light blobs.

Navarro either was not in on what everyone else’s role was in encouraging the task force to fall into the trap, or the book is some sort of messaging. Mulvaney has never come up as an issue. Nor has Mnuchin or Ross. They were all surprise picks. And Mnuchin and Ross were outsiders.

Mulvaney was sent off to Ambassador ‘Siberia’ after his stint as dual OMB Director and 45 Chief of Staff position.
He was fantastic w/numbers, had an excellent plan to consolidate the Swamp, which never happened. Did a good job dismantling and taking control away from Pocahantas’ un-supervised Dem Slushfund Consumer Finance Govt Empire. He always said the right MAGA thing in interviews, got crucified in the press a couple of times, with the last one being a WuFlu oops causing his exit, IMO.
I’ve heard that he was anti-Trump before 45 was elected, don’t know if that’s true. Also, that he’s made disparaging 45 comments since he’s gone, if so, probably towing the RINO line. All I know is I’m no longer in awe of him like I once was.

On a personal note, the anticipated toilet smuggle plan blew up today. Yes, you can get the toilet I came up with in Reno (and it cannot be purchased in Kalif***you), but it’s a special order at both Lowe’s and Home Depot, and cannot be had before next Tuesday — which is obviously too late for a Saturday smuggling run. And I can’t do a plumbing supply shop because they’re not open on Saturday afternoons. Grrr….

Which lead to a complete rethink on my part.

The dealio is, when we bought this house about 25 years ago, it had old-style 1950’s 3.5 gpf toilets that always worked. Then we broke one [remodeling a shower], and I was all stressed-out because you couldn’t buy full-flow any more and every single one of the previous decade’s low-flow toilets was horrible. But we got an American Standard Cadet 1.6 gpf elongated with “powerwash” (at the time, I subscribed to Consumer Reports). This was like version 3 of low-flow, by American Standard, and it seemed that they had gotten it right.

After a couple of months, I did the unthinkable — I actually replaced our other 3.5 gpf toilet with the same model — it was better than the old high-flow toilet.

After about 15 years, I did something that caused me to stagger in the master bathroom, and caught myself on the tank….which promptly went “spung” and cracked in half where the bolts held it down. At the time, this idiot state had made the sale of 1.6 gpf toilets illegal, but you could still buy replacement tanks. Unfortunately, you couldn’t get OEM repair parts at big-box stores, so I bought some jive-ass Mexican 1.6 gpf replacement tank at Home Depot. That toilet has really never been the same. (I believe that the way American Standard got low-flow to work was by analyzing the flush millisecond-by-millisecond and tuning the flow rates from the tank and through the trap — while the generic tank was dumping the same amount of water, it didn’t dump it with the same timing.)

So in my mind, I’m thinking, “the only way I’m going to get to an island of stability is by duplicating what I did 25 years ago.” So, I tracked down the closest thing to a clone I could come up with and set out to buy one in Reno. And it slowly began to dawn on me that I really didn’t want to put forth the extra expense, time, and effort to find an ‘island of stability’ — I wanted the Fiancee to quit bellyaching until we unload this white elephant. So, I’ll swap the toilet for a https://www.homedepot.com/p/Glacier-Bay-2-piece-1-1-GPF-1-6-GPF-High-Efficiency-Dual-Flush-Complete-Elongated-Toilet-in-White-Seat-Included-N2316/100676582 and refocus my efforts on packing.

And I’ve got the Fiancee’s buy-in, so if it isn’t as good, I can say “I told you so.”

All I know empirically is that Kohler’s cheapest 1.6 gpf works like a dream, and is highly recommended (we came back for a second). So I’m thinking your choice of 1.6 “any brand” is likely to be successful.

Yep, but a dual-flush cheapie might be good enough to get me OUT OF HERE. I don’t need to have something I would be happy to live with in this house, being that we’ll sell it soon — I need to leave something that looks like a toilet.

When I’m situated in NC and making things right for future decades, I’ll keep Kohler in mind.

This whole toilet thing is likely a passive-aggressive way of stalling my exit. The toilet has been suboptimal since the tank got replaced years ago. It became an “emergency” right now when I have to renew my CPA (and other things).

We’ve been together for about 30 years. The first 20, we were partners. The last 10, she’s been a parasite. I’m willing to separate to get myself out of this state. Once I do, I’m not sure how we’ll get back together.

WOW. That sounds like a moment of frustration, but such moments are often revelatory.

It sounds to me like she’s not “moving grade”. She’s not mentally capable of dealing with the issue.

That’s OK. Another translation of parasite is that “she’s looking for new accommodations that she did not build”. So THAT means YOU have to take care of host matters.

So the way to force the deal is to find and ready the new abode without her input or approval – just do the right thing – and when it’s ready, she will “magically” be ready to move.

You may be very very right on that Wolfie. I did the ‘move’ for Hubby and I. He had always lived in the Boston area while I was more of a nomad. — 40 addresses in 25 years. — So moving for me was never a real biggie. If I could move to Germany for a while then NC was a piece of cake!

I am not attached to one place and wanted to move to Columbus. My husband pretended he wanted too maybe he really was wanting too
but could not bring himself to do so.
I think the moving scared him and all that comes with it and he still is teaching couple of classes a semester.
He needs that.
I resigned myself to this place and with covid is not all that bad.
Actually if it were totally up to me I would move out into the country. Having to consider what the partner wants is what a relationship is all about. Give and take what is needed. I can stay here easier than my husband is on moving.

Tell your wife it is the best of both worlds, rural and cosmopolitan. You also get the mountains AND the Sea. For us in mid state we are near the Triangle & Lake Jordan but the mountains (3 hrs) and the sea (1.5 hrs) are not that far away. Our neighbors do weekend trips all the time. We also have good highways and decent drivers.

Power supplies? My very first computer was a 286, and a couple of years later I upgraded to a 386. I didn’t actually toss the 286 however.

Shortly after I bought the 386 the power supply blew out. It was pretty obvious what the problem was.

I removed the dead supply and decided to take the other computer’s power supply out of that case and put it into the new one.

It was twice the size it should have been; but I was able to set the thing outside the box, run the cables into the box and power the new computer with the old power supply, which I called the “external” power supply.

Meanwhile the warranty replacement got shipped UPS ground and showed up two weeks later; the guy who sold me the computer was quite irate with them for doing that.

I do not think much of the rider.

The rider is leaning way too far back placing the weight on the horses kidneys. (He should be verticle or slightly ahead of verticle)
The hands are way too high and WORSE he is BALANCING USING THE REINS.
Notice he has to TIE THE HORSE’S HEAD DOWN because the horse is throwing his head in protest because he is getting jabbed in the mouth.

Notice how nice and straight this lady is and how low and quiet her hands are. How her horse carries himself quietly and happily.

I have had years of training including many years from German riding instructors. 😋 And I cringe when I see bad riding that hurts the horse.

In many cases the rider never had instruction so does not even know WHY their horse is giving them trouble or that they are hurting their horses. I have had to, gently, correct the situation many many times during my life since I boarded my horses while living in apartments. That means I automatically look.

I always tell parent to get RIDING INSTRUCTION for their children before they buy them a horse or pony.

Newsmax Takes White House Correspondent Off Air After Claiming Covid-19 Vaccines Contain Demonic Trackers
Right-wing cable news network Newsmax has removed its White House Correspondent, Emerald Robinson, from broadcasts after she tweeted a conspiracy theory that Covid-19 vaccines contain a demonic “bioluminescent” tracker. 

However, Newsmax also said in a statement that while the network “is currently reviewing the posts” Robinson will “continue with duties for the network.”

Robinson tweeted Monday, “Dear Christians: the vaccines contain a bioluminescent marker called LUCIFERASE so that you can be tracked.” 

The tweet has since been deleted and her account suspended.

A Twitter spokesperson confirmed in a statement to Mediaite, “The account you referenced has been temporarily locked for repeated violations of our Covid-19 misinformation policy.”

Newsmax debunked its on-air talent in a statement saying the network “strongly believes and has reported that the Covid-19 vaccines are safe and effective. We do not believe the vaccines contain any toxic materials or tracking markers, and such false claims have never been reported on Newsmax.” 

The network went on to endorse the vaccines: “The many medical experts appearing on Newsmax have supported the use of the vaccine.” Newsmax previously rebuked anchor Rob Schmitt in July after he claimed vaccines are “against nature” and that some diseases are “supposed to wipe out a certain amount of people.”

Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy published an op-ed over the summer saying that the Biden administration did a “good job” on the vaccines.

Okay, now Mercola is starting to get where I’m going on this thing.

The animal biodistribution studies involved vaccine which had been slightly altered to include a REPORTER TAG – basically the mRNA segment that codes for a luciferase.

What this did to the animals was to not just make the SPIKE PROTEIN, but to ALSO make a REPORTER PROTEIN – the latter being a “luciferase”.

So, technically, THAT vaccine does not “contain luciferase”. It contains [and this is VERY important, people] INSTRUCTIONS FOR LUCIFERASE.

So I want people to understand what that means. The fact checkers can yammer all day that the vaccines don’t contain luciferase, because they don’t. And Emerald never understood that the patent she was looking at was really about GENERALIZED gene therapy (including vaccines) and was not necessarily saying that “the vaccines contain luciferase” – only that gene therapies of the invention COULD contain reporter genes LIKE luciferases – which is just normal laboratory stuff.

Big picture – it’s not about CONTAINING luciferases – it’s about possibly containing reporter sequences that CREATE markers that include things LIKE luciferases OR (and this is now very important) SUBUNITS THEREOF.

So bear in mind THAT evasion, too. The vaccines could contain instructions for a subunit of a luciferase, which is TWO STEPS removed from “contains luciferase”.

You have to be very careful when asking any questions about this technology, because they can evade in a thousand ways.

If Emerald would have understood more deeply, she could have asked the following question:

“At any time, including trials, have any of the vaccines given to humans, including volunteers, contained reporters of any kind, including mRNA sequences for tags like luciferases that are commonly used for assaying vaccines and gene therapies?”

“YES OR NO? And if YES, which ones?”

When it mentions antibodies, as in the last paragraph, does it mean the junk produced by the jab, or natural antibodies coming after an infection.

It can mean either, IMO.

Here is how it works. They use a luciferase enzyme which consists of 3 subunits that spontaneously assemble.

They take a sample which contains antibodies (like a drop of blood).

They add one reagent which binds to antibodies, and THAT reagent has one subunit attached to it.

They add another reagent, which is the spike protein with ANOTHER subunit attached to IT.

They add a third reagent which is just the third subunit in solution.

IF the antibody attacks the spike protein, it will bring TWO pieces into proximity, and then the third will join. Now you have a complete luciferase.

NEXT, you need the SUBSTRATE that can glow – a substance which is similar to one that is in fireflies or deep sea organisms (in this case, the latter). In fireflies, the substance is called luciferin. In the test he’s talking about, it’s called furimazine.

That is in solution, along with oxygen.

The completed luciferase catalyzes the oxidation of the furimazine by oxygen to give LIGHT.

The amount of light will vary between a negative control (no antibodies, but some light just by random association under the test conditions) and a positive control (known amount of antibodies).

Here is a highly oversimplified video showing the basic process.

Now – HERE is where FAKE SCIENCE comes in.

All of this is misdirection to the spike protein, which benefits the drug companies and the depopulationists, but not humanity.

Nobody here is asking WHICH protein should be the one assayed for antibodies, because THAT leads to the question of which proteins should be the ones used as antigens. All the work will be done on the dangerous and pathogenic but CONTRACEPTIVE spike, just like smarter but devious people wanted from the very beginning.

The point is to get the spike into us as the “assumed antigen” – not to stop the disease being a public health problem, which only needs natural immunity, starting with children.

Faucists will argue that “well, all the work has been done on the spike, so therefore…..” – which is a self-fulfilling Nelsonian “steer” of the problem.

Modified synthetic spike protein is being used as a REAGENT to test for antibodies.

That is NOT “plain old vanilla spike protein”, and it is NOT spike protein in the blood sample.

It is NOT natural spike protein, although the “spike part of it” may in fact MATCH the natural protein.

The difference is that there is something ATTACHED to it.

The modified spike protein is a REAGENT component, which is spike protein HOOKED to one of the three reporter subunits of the luciferase. The base protein (in this case, the spike) could actually be ANY protein that antibodies might react with – including the nucleocapsid, which is common with original SARS. Likewise, the hooking of the reporter protein to the spike (or other) antibody-targeted protein could be by any of many different methods.

Essentially, they’re using the spike as a reagent to test for antibodies.

This is the reverse of those home antigen test kits. THOSE use antibodies as the reagent to test for nucleocapsid protein (antigen) in your nose.

A bit more toward L.F. you get “Market Socialism” (with some sub-types in between).

…basically the same way the Fascist “Third Way” worked. (And it DOES work). FDR and Wilson both had high praise for The Third Way and you can see how they shifted America from a ‘free market’ toward “Third Way” government – corporation “cooperation” … It was this same process / tendency that Ike warned about in the “Military Industrial Complex” speech.

So we’ve moved away from straight up competition (and with good reasons… it is less profitable and more destructive in some ways and it is prone to monopoly practices) and toward that Classical Socialist end of things; with exact placement varying over time. DHS Whistleblower Philip Haney: P.C. Killed Investigation That Might Have Stopped San Bernardino Attack

Haney discovered a large number of Tablighi Jamaat members were entering the United States on the visa waiver program… and they were proceeding to locations known to be part of the extremist networks Haney had been piecing together….

Haney’s initiative to monitor the Tablighi Jamaat network on a global scale had the support of his superiors…

He interviewed many of these arrivals personally, and detect the sort of trend he has been trained to recognize. His entries into the National Targeting Center database drew the attention of other analysts as well.

“This case actually took six years to develop,” he said. “It started in 2006, and it gradually gained momentum over time. By 2008, I was interviewing twenty, thirty people a month sometimes.”

Once the Advanced Targeting Team at the NTC became involved, the initiative broadened until it encompassed over 1,200 law-enforcement actions related to the case – including revocations of visas and visa waivers, preventing individuals from entering the country, and deportations….

But he wasn’t on the case any more… because his initiative was deemed politically incorrect and shut down by the Department of Homeland Security’s Civil Rights and Civil Liberties division.

“They came into the National Targeting Center, either physically or through emails and correspondence, and said that we could not develop cases based on association with Tablighi Jamaat, and/or any Islamic group,” Haney revealed.

He charged this decision, which runs counter to the very purpose of the Department of Homeland Security and its charter to demolish the wall of separation between law enforcement agencies, was made because “this Administration is more concerned about the civil rights and civil liberties of foreign Islamic groups and foreign nationals than securing the freedom and security of the American public.”…

 Homeland Security removed hundreds of border patrol agents from the Mexican Border, derailed the physical border fence authorized by Congress in 2006 replacing it with a ‘virtual fence’ Then when the ‘virtual fence proved to be a complete disaster, canceled the Border Fence Project completely in January 2010.

 In March 2010, Napolitano justified to lawmakers a 30 percent budget reduction for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, while also removing agents on the southern border and sending them to the Canadian border. In June and July of 2011 three of the four border states had their National Guard troops that were doing the actual patrolling sent overseas. Worse while civilian Minutemen patrols kept watch and reported illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol responded by and telling the CORRUPT Mexican government where the Minutemen were patrolling to help facilitate drug and illegals traffic!

In an increasingly bizarre world Napolitano stands by the controversial Department of Homeland Security report which lists returning veterans among terrorist risks to the U.S along with ordinary American patriots.

…“Rightwing extremism,” the report said… goes beyond religious and racial hate groups and extends to “those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely.” 

“It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration,” said the report, which also listed gun owners and veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars as potential risks….”

Any wonder why the Jan 6th Political Prisoners are being treated as TERRORISTS & BTW the Patriot Act allows indefinite detention WITHOUT TRIAL.

Oh and to add icing to the cake travelers from Saudi Arabia, the country that spawned the 9/11 terrorists, get most trusted traveler status allowing them to by-pass the indigenties from TSA that Americans must suffer.

IMO, Phil Haney is not dead but in private witness protection. I’ve known Phil for years and he was a skilled spook in that he knew how to be safe. The circumstances of his ‘death’ had no resemblance to anything Phil would have done. But they bear a strong resemblance as a cover story for someone [like Phil] who has to go missing and doesn’t want people looking for him.

Phil was a big gear in the IC that nobody ever heard about. There’s so much we don’t know.

The flip side of this — which someone posted the other day — is for patriots to hold companies accountable to the letter of the OSHA law, on everything. Every ceiling tile that has a stain on it, every time a mandatory break is skipped, every mandatory cleaning or servicing of equipment that isn’t done, every safety precaution that is not adhered to, etc. Put the companies under the gun if they’re going to do this.

On the other hand I got an e-mail from my doctor–this is one of the ones who charges a monthly fee and doesn’t take insurance (and I can get an appointment in less than a week).

The (she shares a practice with someone else, the newsletter came from the practice) claim they’ve lost their fourth unvaccinated patient to Covid. They’re convinced the vaccines are safe and effective.

I doubt there’s anything I can do to redpill them.

Said he would refuse to prescribe hydroxy or IVM if I got covid because the dangers outweigh the any possible benefits, and no benefits have been shown so far, proper trials have not been done;

Even though he is originally from India, he had not heard of the IVM/Uddar Pradesh numbers, nor the Japanese numbers WRT IVM;

Said that doctors are too busy to comply with VAERS reporting, yet also said that incidents are confined occasionally to immediate mild symptoms;

His “best” reason which he repeated several times: 95% of doctors got the shot; and – –

He cares.

There was a little more in the same vein. In response to the 95% claim I said one of many reasons I was skeptical of the shots was that 95% of the “reasons” given were outright intimidation, disrespect for reasonable questions, rank dishonesty in reporting every aspect of the issue, name calling, and frequent hysterical emotional squealing. I said: putting aside all medical questions, why wouldn’t a rational person be skeptical when these methods were being used to achieve the goal?

We left on a friendly note, as always. I left with a much better understanding of my doctor.

Regardless, Emstar announced a departure from the site twice recently. Once about 3 weeks ago, and again after resurfacing about a week ago.

The time 3 weeks ago was when I made a criticism about CM’s “portentous” manner of making some statements. Emstar was not happy with the criticism. Emstar sounded fed up (my interpretation) and wished everybody Good Luck in signing off.

Then Emstar showed up in a very mangled thread (mangled by some computer wackiness) and seemed to indicate that someone was being condescending or disrespectful (my interpretation).

I always loved Emstar’s posts and especially the wonderful sense of humor.

As I have said before, I believe 100% that if we (the site) ever met in person, we would be very pleasantly surprised at how different and nice people were in person. Nicer than we could even imagine.

But we won’t meet (probably) and so we have to do the best that we can under the circumstances.

Times were, many, MANY years ago, that a non-safety match (that you could light by striking it just about anywhere) was called a Lucifer. Hence do you want a light, etc.

In other languages that word has no meaning at all. Reminiscent of all the hue and cry by the FemiNAZIs about “history”, which starts with “his”. Seems that history is rooted in a French word, histoire, that has nothing to do with “his” at all…….

As with many things, Luciferase was an unfortunate name tagged to a (usually) useful chemical. And as far as satin… we’ll all have to throw away all of our records, tapes, videos, etc. of “Nights In White Satin”…

I think discernment is needed here. And, like you say, it makes us look like fools for misinterpreting what’s out there, and not digging deeper to see both the real TERMS involved and the real issues.

Maybe there’s another chemical name. Or perhaps the chemical formula, as spoken (e.g. Freon (ok, a trade name) versus diflourodichloromethane…)…. Or even “the firefly chemical”…

When we put 2 and 2 together and get 22 out of it, we’re the ones who come up short.

Funny that you mentioned “Nights In White Satin” for I went looking on YouTube on our TV hoping to find the sax/flute rendition someone shared there yesterday. I ran into a 7 minute version w/ bizzarre imagery that I wondered if it was some type of wierd MK kind of thing. Like the last 3 minutes had a strange male voiceover that I couldn’t even listen to as it just didn’t sit right w/ me. I’ve debated sharing the link here but if you look up the song name on YouTube it’s likely that you can discover it too.

Some things that bugged me included several cartoony looking earth globes being spun but not on the normal axis, quite jarring to processing what was being seen. Multi-color images often of female figures w/ rainbow points of light from head through torso (some type of new agey religious stuff I believe). Slithering snake that coils back on itself to make a yin/yang symbol (I’d thought it was going to make an oroboulus or eternity symbol) & other very wierd stuff.

Strange but even in attempting to write this comment I’ve had random weirdness happen where I go to correct some misspelled words & whole sections of text just disappear AND aren’t recoverable w/ “undo”. Very odd…

I’m not Aubergine, but having had a nasty bout with pernicious anemia, I now take a daily Jarrows 5000 mg B12. This one can be taken sublingually (just let it dissolve in your mouth), which is why I take it. My gut doesn’t seem to process B12.

For what it is worth, I have hubby on B vitamins and Iodine because he was stumbling. He can now run again. He has been taking vitamin D for years.

Nutritional status in relation to balance and falls in the elderly: a preliminary look at serum folate

Methods: Clinical function, balance, gait and disability tests and health and nutritional status assessments were performed. All subjects were interviewed regarding the occurrence of falls in the last year. Blood tests for serum vitamin D, folate and B(12) were conducted among a randomly selected subsample of 54 participants in the same month.

Results: One hundred 65- to 91-year-old volunteers participated in the study, and 29 of them fell at least once during the past year. The depression score was higher (indicating more depressive symptoms) among fallers compared with non-fallers (4.0 +/- 3.2 vs. 2.5 +/- 2.3, respectively). The overall function score (indicating better function) was marginally higher in non-fallers. Subsequent comparisons between fallers and non-fallers were adjusted for overall function and depression scores. Serum folate was significantly lower in fallers (9.5 +/- 7.1 vs. 16.2 +/- 6.7 ng/ml, p = 0.02). Dietary intake was equal in both groups. Correlation analyses indicate a significant association between vitamin D and the functional measurements: timed get up and go (negative), Berg balance test, overall functional score, lower extremity score and limitation score (positive correlation coefficients). Serum folate was highly and negatively associated with the number of falls and with prescribed medications and was the only protective factor against falls in a multivariate analysis.

Conclusions: Vitamin D was related to most functional and balance measurements. Serum folate was protective against falls. For every 1 ng/ml increase in serum folate the occurrence of falls decreased by 19%.

I think what everyone here has recommended is good. My only recommendation for any vitamin is to try to get it into your system with some small amount of a food it is found in. My personal belief is that this helps the vitamin absorb more efficiently. So for B12, that is beef, salmon or tuna, whole milk or cheese. Also, eggs. Get that protein in!

I think defendants should take the stand more often than they do. Most of the time, no, but more often than they do.

Not having spoken to Kyle myself, I can’t say for sure. Bur every aspect of this case we know seems to justify his testifying.

As for double jeopardy, I don’t know when it comes to play. Certainly, there cannot be a second criminal trial if there was a first one and the defendant was found not guilty. I don’t know what happens if the trial is concluded some other way, short of the jury reaching a verdict.

And of course being found not guilty in a criminal trial does not protect the defendant from a civil suit, as OJ Simpson found out.

Usually double jeopardy does not apply when the motion leading to a new trial is made by the defendant. But if the court finds that the mistrial was provoked by the prosecutor because the prosecution was losing and wanted another try (VERY hard to show) then double jeopardy does apply.

I think Wisconsin is different from what I have seen. They appear to have a statutory provision allowing for a mistrial AND a finding of “with prejudice.”

In effect, they incorporate the standard for double jeopardy in mistrial circumstances into the mistrial statute itself. In other jurisdictions, the defendant would have to make a separate motion to prohibit a new trial based on double jeopardy using the same circumstances.

A mistrial motion leading to a mistrial is not made with prejudice. It leads to another trial.

Before the other trial, the defendant can move to have the new trial barred on double jeopardy grounds, but only if the defendant can show that the mistrial was deliberately provoked by the prosecutor. That is hard to show, although in this case maybe not so hard, but still hard.

After Kyle’s testimony, the lawyers need to make a motion based on insufficient evidence. The judge can grant it (and should), but can also reserve and until the jury returns a verdict, and then rule. There are perils/practicalities either way.

If the motion is granted, the charges are gone forever, which is why it is preferable to a mistrial.

And of course the federal charges are waiting.

So the defense attorney DOES know the right standard about the prosecutor provoking a mistrial. I am just doubtful whether the finding is made during the course of a mistrial motion, or in a double jeopardy motion to bar a second trial. These are completely separate legal questions.

I doubt that any governmental official or agency can step in and just stop a prosecution from going forward, but if they had evidence, it should have been presented at the outset, in whatever manner is legal. Serge Svetnoy just filed suit against the above-mentioned individuals — as well as others — claiming the defendants’ alleged negligence caused him severe emotional distress in the aftermath of it all.

According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Svetnoy claims the bullet that struck both Hutchins and director Joel Souza actually zoomed by and nearly hit him too. Not just that, but the gaffer claims he was one of the first people on hand to tend to Halyna while she was profusely bleeding … attempting to comfort her and keep her conscious.

As for why he’s suing Baldwin, the suit claims he “owed a duty to the Plaintiff and other crew members and actors on the ‘Rust’ set to handle the Colt Revolver provided to him by defendant Halls with reasonable care and diligence for the safety of ‘Rust’ cast and crew.” It goes on to say, “This duty called for Defendant Baldwin to double-check the Colt Revolver with Halls upon being handled to ensure that it did not contain live ammunition.”

And, it goes on … “This duty further called for him [Baldwin] to handle the Colt Revolver as if it was loaded and to refrain from pointing it at anyone.” In other words, the suit claims negligence on Baldwin’s part.

And, there’s this … according to the lawsuit, the scene Baldwin was rehearsing did not call for him to pull the trigger. According to the lawsuit, the scene called for Baldwin to draw the gun and point it in the general direction of the camera, but, “the scene did not call for Defendant Baldwin to shoot the Colt Revolver.”

He also addresses Baldwin’s failures as a producer to keep the set safe, “declining requests for weapons training days,” among other things.

Svetnoy is asking for damages and a jury trial.

Yeah, those pictures are NASTY. Suctioning spider bites, wasp stings, etc., very promptly, can be a really good idea. Only micrograms of that poison can cause that much damage. Getting even half out can save a limb.

Might have to modify the procedure somewhat, but it’s possible. Stings and bites are largely s.c., and the jabs are i.m.

Stings and bites are overwhelmed by serum flow back through the microscopic wound channel, flushing the toxin out. On a size basis, the toxins are WASHED OUT. A bead of serum much larger than the sting or bite will form on the skin surface.

The way to do a jab back out would be to inject saline to the same depth – maybe 10X volume – and literally suck it back out. It’s a nasty procedure, but it might get half the dose or more back out, if the injection were to the exact same point.

If you have access to tobacco or plantain (the weed, not the fruit), you can make a poultice that will draw poison from bites and stings. Plantain is even effective for snake bite in an emergency. Just moisten the tobacco or chew up the plantain leaves and put them directly on the bite.

My granddaughter recently had a hobo spider bite. She had a swelling the size of a golf ball under the skin. Tobacco on it overnight, and the swelling entirely disappeared.

Tobacco almost has to be nicotine – most likely a receptor-blocking or protein binding inhibitory phenomenon, IMO. Nicotine has notoriously strong dermal penetration and has extremely diverse receptor interactions. It is doing something to inhibit a chain reaction. I didn’t find anything in the literature about that, so it may be a new use. In an emergency, a nicotine patch would likely work, but would lack any other possible hidden agents of the tobacco. (Tobacco also contains harmala alkaloids – I didn’t know that – they’re also found in S. American shamanic psychoactives.)

If the latter is correct, then (prediction) ANY modification of a poultice which increases local transdermal traffic and absorption will increase the effectiveness.

The vehicle VIN number would have ID’d the perp, and removing the license plate in order to get away with committing a crime is a felony offense in any state.

I remembered that one from when it was first reported, because it didn’t make sense. Water supplies get contaminated all the time, and people boil their water until the problem is resolved.

If I understand correctly, viruses are very susceptible to heat. Boiling water should be plenty hot enough.

Regardless, and as I have said before, if someone makes a credible threat that would result in the loss of 90% of your population, whoever said it just gave the POTUS the green light and just cause to vaporize him.

There are only a handful of parties who could make a credible threat of that kind, so assuming they didn’t reveal their own identity, it would take a professional intelligence agency about 3.4 seconds to figure out who it was.

Then commence vaporization procedures.

What you don’t do, what you don’t ever do, is surrender.

I didn’t take the article that way at all.

It helps to separate what we want to believe, and what we actually know, and what we can reasonably deduce from it, otherwise we’re just cheerleaders for one side or the other.

The author has been doing incredible investigative work since the very beginning of the planndemic.

Are the points he made in the article not valid ones, based on the information available, and the application of basic reasoning?

It’s good practice to question everything, and that includes the people who present themselves as acting in our (or the country’s) best interest.

There was a time, not that long ago, when regular people questioned their political leadership, even the leadership of their own party.

When did that change?
