A third source also told The Hill that a climate emergency was under White House consideration.
By Tuesday afternoon, one of The Hill’s sources said that while the White House had planned to declare the emergency as soon as Wednesday, it has since advised that it will not do so on that day.
The Associated Press separately reported Tuesday afternoon that the White House would hold off from a declaration on Wednesday.

So, the hall bathroom toilet got it’s flush slammed real hard and broke the little chain that lifts the flapper valve. I borrowed the little fiddly widget from our whole-house fan pull-chain to splice it until I could go shopping.
The magic words are “#6 ball chain connector”.
Incidentally, our whole house fan has a non-standard bit. I put a horizontal eyebolt about 21 inches down from the ceiling. This takes the pullchain for the fan — which is normally about seven inches from the wall — and pulls it over to about 3/4″ from the wall. The extra ball-chain puts it about the same height as a light switch. It’s going to cost me a whopping $2.13 to get six more connectors, of which I only need one.
But what a pain to go from “little connector fiddly widget” to “#6 ball chain connector”.
At least you’ll be flushed with success. 😂
I think most of us have a keen appreciation of Mike Tyson’s observation: “Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”
When I go launching into one of these “little things”, I might get uncomfortable perched backward on a toilet seat, or irritated by things not behaving, or frustrated by not having the proper tool, or thwarted by not having the right part…..and I’ll take some time to cool off, divert my attention, and recalibrate.
And the Fiancee will inevitably burst in and say, “is it completely dead? Do we have to replace the whole thing???”
