Reading the White House Press Sec Statement clears up the mystery – Black actually IS a REAL LIVE HISTORIAN. And I think it’s clear that POTUS was not only aware of his case, but realized that his prosecution was a travesty.
Conrad Black’s points about Watergate are really useful. The idea that the various criminal personalities under Nixon were both feckless and “not Nixon’s fault” demonstrates exactly how the “Trump Trap” was supposed to work. And THAT illustrates some points from communist theory which dryly address the MEDIA, which I can state more easily in MAGA theory, thusly.
The FAKE NEWS – unopposed during Nixon’s time – was able to create an environment where people submitted to its “truths” rather than defending ACTUAL TRUTH. Meanwhile, Nixon reacted instinctively to protect these same people, when in fact he was being TRICKED into defending people who would not defend him, to TARNISH HIMSELF. Ultimately, Nixon could not rely on the press being fair.
The “Trump Trap” was supposed to work like the Nixon Trap, but Trump REFUSED TO PLAY THE GAME. And SO DID WE. We refused to listen to the FAKE NEWS – and that was VERY IMPORTANT.
This is a perfect summary of Nixon versus Trump with respect to their respective take-downs (wow, I originally wrote “fake-downs” – – talk about Freudian accuracy).
My husband is about halfway through a book called Watergate: The Hoax by Ashton Gray. Quoted from his book “There was no “first break-in” at the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate on 28 May 1972 as claimed by Liddy, Hunt, McCord, Baldwin and their CIA-trained pack of Cuban liars, now were there any failed “attempts” on 26 and 27 May 1972, as they also claimed. It is, and always has been, a lie. There is not now, and never has been, a single scrap of evidence to corroborate their stories of the alleged “first break-in” and prior failed attempts. They only “corroborated” each other.”

Perpetual optimism has made my life a blessing, always, in the face of many an adversity.
One day, talking to my youngest, I commented on what a blessed and easy life I had had. Knowing my history, he looked at me like I had lost my mind!
But everything is perspective. I know others whose childhoods were worse. I’ve never had a terminally ill child, but friends of mine have. I had abusive marriages, but I never ended up in the hospital. I know women who did.

It was never considered that one judge could impose a nationwide injunction. It defeats English law and does not allow the normal process of allowing differences to percolate up to a higher court.
What I love about AG Barr is that sanctimonious prigs like Brit Hume can’t attack him for his “behavior” – Barr doesn’t come across as the brass knuckles fighter that POTUS is – no, he is simply a very quiet, calm gentlemanly, grandfatherly type fellow who has this rapier which slices and dices, and then the person looks down and sees they’re hemorrhaging all their blood.

This was an important speech, and the General (love that) implores his colleagues to consider these problems.

There really is a Trump, cutting edge style to these videos. The cuts are quick but the images flow together perfectly, telling a story which is unmistakable in meaning with no words or very few words.
And the story is told in a very LOGICAL way, with a mixture of factual, inspirational, and negative contrast. They leave no times to dwell on any particular detail, but leave an overall impression which has a very deep appeal.
I want to make a relevant comment on VSG’s use of words, and his vocabulary. I have not seen anyone comment on this aspect of Trump’s communication style.
VSG self-consciously avoids using specific descriptions and explanations. Things are “great” or “terrible” or “very dishonest” or “well respected” etc. People are “very bad” or “very good.” Trump CHOOSES the more general, broader word over the more specific, pointed word.
There is a deliberate lack of eloquence or verbal sharpness. And yet VSG paints exactly the picture he wants us to see.
IMO VSG does this to establish a general plane of discourse not susceptible to getting bogged down in the details. VSG has the confidence that WE are capable of filling in the details for ourselves. In part, he is taking the lumps out, but he is also creating less of an irrelevant target.
I know I can describe this better than I am, but maybe someone else can better describe what I mean.
Anyway, VSG’s speeches in their own way are very much like the Trump-style videos.

I watched two late night news programmes yesterday. Both presenters said that this is an unprecedented EU election in Britain. Not only is May in very hot water now, but the Leader of the House, Andrea Leadsom, resigned yesterday afternoon.
She said she could not announce bringing Theresa May’s revised bill (same thing as before, but with a proviso for a second referendum) before the House today. Leadsom said the bill goes so far against her Leave principles that she cannot have anything to do with it. She will remain as an MP but no longer in the Cabinet.
She was a very good Leader of the House, and even Labour MPs appreciated her efforts for all MPs (e.g. bringing proxy votes to the House for members who are pregnant or ill).
She worked tirelessly on participating on plans to refurbish the Palace of Westminster, where both Houses meet. It desperately needs renovation. I am glad I was able to watch her ably lead the discussion on it in Parliament on Tuesday. She said that it is as dire a situation as Notre-Dame (before the fire).

The historical fact of Jesus and the Resurrection is essential, and although it is not necessary for many Christians to understand the historical record and evidence it is a beautiful and satisfying thing to consider.
In a sense the “it’s a matter of faith and it probably always will be” is a misleading statement, and often a bad default statement. The Resurrection is NOT a matter of faith, it is a matter of historical necessity.

And I thought the author was saying that because of the number of times the tomb itself had been attacked, destroyed by fire and rebuilt so many times that it was matter of faith to say that this spot is THE EXACT SPOT of the tomb (not that the tomb itself existed)

He was not talking about the Resurrection, true. But what he said was the sort of misleading thing (IMO) which is said far too often about evidence related to Christian history.
The fact that a tomb of Jesus existed is evidence which can be evaluated without any belief whatsoever, just an desire to evaluate the evidence.
I see and hear even Christians say “it is just a matter of faith” with respect to any aspect of Christianity. It is a default position.
Without knowing the details, my guess is that the tomb of Jesus is susceptible to quite a detailed historical analysis, and probably one favorable to the general historical truth of Christianity.

Lots of old English words remain in the deep reaches of the South, the language unchanged since our ancestors came here in the 1600s. My Nanny knew exactly what she was saying.
I love language. Words are beautiful to me and the way that people use them. I always do a double take when I hear someone use an expression I have never heard before or only seldom heard. I love using old-fashioned turns of phrase that my grandparents used but are no longer heard these days. It adds so much life and color!
I love accents, too, and trying to identify them and what region the person hails from.
I love your Nanny’s use of quietus and I am so glad you shared it with us. I’m practically purring with appreciation for it.

I’ve got two visiting right now! 😄
1) The link I clicked yesterday to watch VSG’s statement was a Fox News link which said the video I was about to see was Trump “lashing out” at Pelosi. Then I watched and Trump did NOT lash out. He was VERY controlled and deliberate. “Lashed out” is a soviet Fake News phrase you see almost every day applied to VSG. That phrase is a certain sign of communist propaganda, and its effectiveness relies on the many who cannot see or think for themselves.
2) The Reuters article on Black called him a “mogul.” I have never seen leftists like Bill Gates called a mogul, just like I never saw Ted Kennedy called a millionaire, although for many years “millionaire” was the automatic adjective used to describe someone who was not a leftist (if they had a million dollars).
3) I personally have never read a Trump tweet which I did not like/love. Yet I regularly talk to Trump supporters (true, genuine, sincere) who state flatly that VSG should not tweet. These are folks who are influenced by the repeated use of “lashing out” and not by what they actually know. (Ironically, Black himself is one of those who has been affected by the “lashing out” propaganda. Black has more than once expressed his disdain for Trump tweets).
4) My hobby horse. The most important point Black makes is the utter corruption of the American justice system. And it is NOT just the Federal system. True, the feds have more money, and unlike the feds the locals are too busy to play with themselves. But even the locals have gamed out the system, and are not above the purely political prosecution, or the profitable employment of misconduct they know will never be punished. I warn “conservatives” in particular to stop cheer-leading for their own destruction, often by casting the first stone, and often by clamoring for yet more punishing laws and law enforcement. Life is a mess, and more law enforcement is too often used NOT to clean up the mess, but to ensnare the otherwise normal and law abiding, who are much easier to bully, and who must be punished to equal out those racial stats.

Two things which leave me with questions.
1. There was an attempt on Macron the day of or day before Trump’s visit to the cemetery. Press went overboard, spinning it into an attempt at a narrative to knock Trump’s military support.
And Bannon’s departure was scheduled for August anyway. The left truly feared Bannon.

I don’t know of course, but if trying to make President Trump look bad was part of the plan, then reporting an attempt on Macron would have made the story about not being able to protect President Trump and calling off his event would have seemed more believable.
I always wondered why the tree Macron brought as a gift to the WH was dug up. Interesting to me for some reason. Any thoughts on that? Somehow, I felt it was like turning a Christian Church into a Mosque. I felt like Macron was planting a claim on something that did not belong to him. It seemed like more than just a tree.
I don’t much care for Steve Bannon. I would assume that his ego and Kelly’s ego were often in conflict. It is hard to have two wannabe Presidents in the same room competing with the real President.
I still think Steve Bannon is trying to take credit for things he really is not doing. I read a definition of a politician a long time ago that said something to the effect that they wait to see where the crowd is going and then jump out in front and say “follow me.” I think Bannon took a lot of credit for things President Trump was doing before Steve ever came along.
Scaramucci was just a curiosity to me I never paid much attention to him. He came and went very quickly. I found him a little crude for the position he was occupying.
I like President Trump’s assessment of Rex Tillerson as being “dumb as a rock”.
I personally don’t like Kellyanne Conway because she gives Tim a platform to trash President Trump.
I think Sarah Sanders does a great job all the time.
I don’t see VP Pence as a leader in any way. I think he would just turn us all back over to the deep state.
I have my own opinions and I don’t expect agreement. I just state mine. I don’t argue with anyone to change their mind. I just discuss things with others to find the weaknesses in my own arguments and then I try to understand more about the subject until I am on more solid ground.

Agreed on Scaramucci and Bannon, but OMG – that point about Macron and the press puts a lot of air into Elizabeth’s larger idea of a pincer plot on Trump.
This is really syncing up with my thinking on this. I think we HAVE SOMETHING HERE – a serious globalist assassination plot WITH media cover.
Here is why I’m thinking this.
When was the last time a President was actually assassinated when he disregarded WARNINGS? It was JFK, who ignored SS warnings to use a bulletproof canopy in Dallas.
It does not matter whether JFK’s killing was by Oswald in the book depository, by Files from the sidelines, by a shooter on the “grassy knoll”, or by a Secret Service agent in an insider CIA plot that USED the “warning” as plausible deniability and COVER. It all works the same way.
Once JFK took the risk, he opened the window to removal.
The fact that UBER-WIMP Macron took some kind of “risk” to “set the stage”, and what you say about media involvement, tells me all I need to know. That is precisely how the other side works. They LOVE that move.
(Incidentally, the Barbara Olson assassination worked just like this, except that because there was so much alleged randomness on the execution method, all they had to do was get her on a specific plane, which is a very normal risk.)
It always works the same way:
1. Force the victim into a “hard political choice” which constrains their movement, and from which they cannot back out without suffering politically (that political loss being the MINIMUM YIELD and MINIMUM GOAL of the plot).

LP ON 11-10-2018 General Kelly attended the Memorial Service that President Trump had been told was too dangerous for him to attend and I believe it was intended to make President Trump too old and delicate to go out in the rain.
I don’t know anything about the 11-18-2018 date.
I do think that Gen. Kelly is still causing delays and confusion about building the wall and interfering with DHS enforcement. Kristjen Nielson is gone now, but she had been Kelly’s girl.
I really do believe that we are going to have to close the Mexican Border, the Canadian Border and the Ports to all but our Military Ships until we get this mess cleaned up.

In 1942, the United States and Britain began thinking about an invasion across the English Channel. Hitler, anticipating an invasion somewhere—although he did not know exactly where—put Erwin Rommel in charge of defense of a large swath of coastal areas and in charge of the creation of an Atlantic Wall, which consisted of fortifications of bunkers, landmines, and other beach and water obstacles.
The Allies codenamed their amphibious invasion of Normandy “Operation Overlord,” and placed Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower in charge of it in January 1944. The invasion became known as D-Day, and its implementation would prove to be the start of the end of the war. The more obvious choice for the invasion was Pas de Calais, the spot with the shortest distance between Britain and Continental Europe. In fact, a deception campaign prior to D-Day made the Germans think that Pas de Calais—as well as Norway and some other locations—would be areas of invasion. Deception tactics included the use of fake equipment, George S. Patton’s phantom army—which was supposedly stationed across from Pas de Calais, fraudulent radio transmissions, and double agents. The beaches of Normandy were chosen instead because they were less heavily defended than Pas de Calais, but were still within air cover.
D-Day was originally scheduled for June 5, but it was pushed back a day due to bad weather. Eisenhower told his troops, “You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you.” Five thousand ships, 13,000 aircraft, and over 160,000 American, British, and Canadian troops readied for invasion.
Airborne operations started in the early morning hours of June 6, preceding the amphibious landing by about 5 hours. Over 13,000 paratroopers from the U.S. 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, the British 6th Airborne Division, and the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion were dropped behind enemy lines and worked to secure bridges and exit roads. An additional 4,000 men of the glider infantry landed using 500 gliders.
The amphibious landing took place over a 50 mile stretch of beachfront in Normandy, on the French coastline. There were five beaches where the landing took place. From west to east they were Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword. The Allies faced rather light resistance at all the beaches except Omaha. That beach was the most heavily defended of the five, and also had a difficult terrain consisting of bluffs and cliffs.
Although the Allies achieved their objective of gaining a foothold on the continent, it was not without heavy losses. By some estimates, over 4,000 Allied troops were killed, and another 5,000 or so troops were wounded. The beaches were secured by June 11, and over 326,000 troops had landed, as well as 50,000 vehicles and 100,000 tons of equipment. By the end of June, 850,000 Allied troops and 150,000 vehicles were on the continent. The Battle of Normandy lasted until late August when Paris was liberated and northern France was taken back from the Nazis. Preparations were then made to head towards Germany. The Germans were defeated in the Spring of 1945, and surrendered on May 8. All of this became possible because of the valiant efforts of those on D-Day! We remember them and their service and sacrifice today!
D-Day is observed next on Thursday, June 6th, 2019. It has been observed annually on June 6th since 1944.

I tend to believe that Tillerson got “taken” by the Hillary / Kerry “Canklebots” in State, who tried to use him for leverage against Trump, and Trump simply had enough of that problem. I sm not a lawyer, but I wonder if they could set up a legal task force whose primary focus would be issues on behalf of the American Ciizens and provide access for American citizens to bring their grievances up for consideration.
Perhaps there could be a way to bring attention to even individual issues many of us encounter and provide way for us to join class action lawsuits (such as voter fraud, banishment from social platforms, targeted ads which coopt and remove access to conservative sites, lack of equal access to bank loans or even jobs and educational programs, and removal of our right to assemble or to speak openly—even our right to wear certain articles of clothing which proclaim our beliefs in public).

The USA has a 21 trillion dollar economy (it’s closer to 22.5 now, but let’s say it’s still 21 trillion).
Original tariffs were 10% on 60 billion = 6 billion. Therefore, 6 billion/21 trillion = .0002857 = less than 3/100ths of 1% of our economy.
Original tariffs were increased from 10% to 25% on the 60 billion. Therefore, 15% increase on 60 billion = 9 billion/21 trillion = .0004285 = a little more than 4/100ths of 1% of our economy.
Together, the 25% tariff on 60 billion in goods = .0002857 + .0004285 = .0007142 = or about 7/100ths of 1% of our economy.

Now, let’s do the math on new tariffs coming in June. This is 25% on 200 billion – a bigger number.
25% of 200 billion is 50 billion.
50 billion/21trillion = .002381 = 2/10ths of 1% of our economy.

The only thing that MIGHT be missing from this is…the tariffs could hit one particular key industry particularly hard…just to make up an fanciful example, they might cause the price of Interociters to double because interociters use Chinese widgets. So now our interociters are no longer competitive and that industry tanks.
I doubt that’s the case, but it’s something to watch out for when someone’s doing a rigorous analysis of the impact of the tariffs.

This is the only way for me to post and although I feel my post has nothing to do with the open topic God is telling me it does so here I go:
I woke up after the worst dream! In this dream we moved to this house… it was like a duplex and all these women and children kept using our house as their own… doing their laundry… taking naps on our bed… the women then accused me of not being “welcoming” enough as I changed their babies dirty diapers! I was so stressed out and then I looked at my husband and he had the coldest look! He was disgusted I was allowing this and done! It shook me to the core! 😭
When praying God said He was just verifying that I need to be where I’m at (I have a new job where I don’t have to interact with people) and never go back! I was serving those who mean nothing and are only ungrateful while abandoning those who mean everything and are grateful!❤️ Basically I was giving to the wrong people and if I would have continued I would have lost my family!
So thank you God for “weeding out” and for leading me a different direction! I will never doubt you again when things don’t go my way!❤️

Insert my long meandering story here. Late last year, I didn’t know where to go forward, but in my despair I asked God to bring me my tribe, my brothers that saw as I did what was happening and were looking for God’s work immanently in their lives. I don’t know or understand what God’s timing and intentions were but his answer to my prayer was to bring me here.
I still don’t know why he has me here (or before, OT) but I knew and still know he has a purpose beyond my understanding and beyond my own life that he is looking to accomplish through me here and through the lives of others here… and I hope you truly understand how much of a blessing it is to be around people who are givers of LIFE in this world, who are LIGHT against the darkness, and SALT that keeps the stores from turning rancid, a river of life that pours and flows out in this world where all people can come and drink and be refreshed.

But if you don’t have a traditional marriage and you don’t have normal children, and lack those responsibilities, you will have more disposable income as a percentage, and lacking the children to invest in, naturally you will spend more indulging yourself rather than doing the hard work of rearing children… but all that is minor details to advertisers. Bottom line: Grab the cash.

This is such an emotional time for our nation. If you live near a Veterans’ cemetery, they can ALWAYS use help early Tuesday morning picking up the flags. I do it every year, and read each grave marker as I pull the flag.
This Memorial Day I will be in Michigan with my 90+ Mom & Dad, and I will take them to the Fort Custer Cemetery where we will lay a few bouquets in gratitude. Dad is one of the remaining living WWII vets and I love him dearly. 💖🇺🇸💖🇺🇸

I disagree. The cost of living isn’t going to drop at all. There aren’t enough people involved to do that. The employees will just jump to another government job if they can find one.
This is actually an easy way to clean house, sort of if another department doesn’t pick up those quitting, as the primary motivation may be that employees can’t move for one reason or another. Aging parents, spouse or partner’s job. Kids in school. I can’t move due to one of these. Not that I want to.
