I am wide awake and have been so for a long time. It is the author of that tweet who needs to wake up. It’s the same guy. You can see how parts of his face have been pulled by plastic surgery, similar to what happened with Kenny Rogers. The procedures have not done him any favors.
Same height, same hairline, same voice, same vocal timbre, same speech patterns, same gestures, same lack of intelligence, same ears, same teeth, same right-handedness, same facial proportions, same everything except for aging and “work done.”

They were good at the business for so long. They are now kaput.
Years ago, when PNC was Pittsburgh National Bank, it was a great place to do business with. Nice people, “down-home” and friendly, great service. It was “the bank to use” if one was living anywhere in the Pittsburgh area.
All that began to change in the early 1980’s after the steel mills left. That’s when Pittsburgh National Bank became “PNC” and started to buy up smaller banks in the region. It went downhill from there.
From “Nationalist Bank” to Globalist Bank.

Good choice, JMT has been an inspiration for several decades now; quite an expansive library as well. I have several favorites but number one is “Holy Is His Name”.
He covers the stuff we pros would like to chuck, actually. I’ve only heard of this man recently, and everything I’ve heard he has done is a cover of the schlock foisted on us by two hymnal publishers.
I am not sure how you came to your opinion. Did you form your opinion on what others said about him or after listening to his songs?
JMT is a wonderful soul and it comes through specially when one meets him in person. His songs touch the soul full of spirit . He has done much in charities .
I form my opinion based on my knowledge of the music itself. I’ve been a choir singer in Church since the Jesuit stuff hit in the 1970s when I was a kid. Frankly, as I developed as a musician, I outgrew it. I get paid to sing it now, and rejoice when something more traditional or even Irish is chosen. I looked at the playlists of the songs he covers and can tell you most of it was written by the St. Louis Jesuits in the 1970s. Just a sample:
Be Not Afraid – Dan Schutte (he left the Jesuits, actually) and debuted on “A Dwelling Place” in 1976
I Am the Bread of Life – Sr. Suzanne Toolin, won’t share the pros collective opinion on this one
Here I Am Lord – Dan Schutte, debuted on “Lord of Light” in 1981 or 82
On Eagles Wings – Fr. Michael Joncas, SJ who is really a free agent, musically speaking (I have a soft spot for this one)
One Bread, One Body – Fr. John Foley, SJ debuted on “Wood Hath Hope” in 1978, IIRC
Holy Is His Name – arranged by David Haas, and currently off limits at Church due to Haas being credibly accused of being a dirty old man by an underage teenage girl
Hosea – Weston Priory and Gregory Norbet, other than the tessitura, which is low, I don’t have much of a problem with it
Glory and Praise to Our God – Dan Schutte again. Don’t remember what album, but I think it was “Earthen Vessels” which, IIRC, came out in 1977. I’ll have to check that.
I’d have to listen to the ones titled as psalms, but the ones I listed are all covers.
We agree on many spiritual topics but on this I take a different perspective. On music of this type I ask myself if it inspires greater devotion to Christ. For JMT the answer is yes and it does not matter to me if it is an interpretation of someone’s else song. Despite this new information about the author “Holy Is His Name” it remains my favorite. I am reminded that God has a habit of using sinners to advance His kingdom.
I would boil it down to a matter of palate, actually. And over use. I got burned out on some pieces just from doing them over and over. “O Holy Night” being at the top of the list.
No joke, “O Holy Night” is another one of my favorites. I never tire of listening to that song. It may be different when someone sings it often. But, for me, there is no danger of that happening. I suspect we would never cross paths in a music store.
This is one that inspires me. It is sung on Good Friday during the Veneration of the Cross. It’s a BEAR to sing, but so beautiful.
This is a song of the type that would inspire me in a church setting where I am surrounded by symbols of the faith. However in my living room it would not have the same effect. I think this is because my attitude is more consciously focused on the spirit in a church as opposed to my home. At home I need to understand the words that are being sung as much as the melody.
Thank you, DP that was beautiful. You are right, New Age music which replaced the traditional choral music of the church is not spiritually nourishing.
Agreed, O Holy Night is a gem. Everyone wants to hear it, at the rarefied moment. But almost nobody has any business trying to sing it. 😄 That’s why we never programmed it as a solo – always the soloist, choir, organ and usually violin.

I always could sing. The voice started to stick out…puberty. We don’t train before puberty. Actually a year after you’re through, at least.
I really wish parents would encourage kids in symphonic instruments, not those that make organized noise.

I much prefer classical music or jazz to the noise that is passed off as music today. I have not had on a radio in ~2 decades.
I also had the best hearing in my factory BECAUSE I never listen to that noise.

When we did Mahler 2, the percussion principal brought out handfuls of the earplugs that were backstage and handed them out to the sopranos. He was insistent that we use them. I had “earplugs in” and “earplugs out” written in scores.

Is the intent of these laws to silence opposition?
Will mere dissent, criticism or exposing truth be called hate?
Will they punish and jail opponents like Stalin and Øbama?

If Desanty is the boss, then he calls the donor and says “What are you doing by closing Don Jr’s account? How do you not clear something like that with me, before you do it? As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

First I think the question of the purpose of the boycott should be answered. Are you trying to get rid of the company? Are you trying to get rid of the marketing vice president? If it is the latter I think the strategy involves more than changing your candy purchasing choices. In tandem with no longer buying Hershey’s candy, a letter writing campaign to make the company aware of why you suspended your purchases is in order. Otherwise they may not make the connection in the way you intend. Rebuking the executive staff is a far nobler consequence than destroying the company. Along with the company will go 16,000 people who lose their job.

I remember back to a book by Eugene Peterson whose title was “A Long Obedience in the Same Direction”. Peterson was the guy who paraphrased the Bible for his congregation. You may remember it, it was called “The Message” back in the 60s or 70s. I have always thought the title of the first book I mentioned was, for me, a perfect definition of discipleship. For that reason I have never forgotten the book’s title. My primary theological interest of the past several decades is discipleship and what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. That title sums up what I have found to be true.

Considering that only a tiny percentage of any criminal class is actually caught, with 13 mayors (so far) arrested for child crimes, it seems like infiltration of the political system by pedos at the local level.
That’s what I was thinking too…think how many freaks are watching kid porn , lusting for children, grooming innocent victims…and don’t get caught.
It’s disgusting and heartbreaking to know how many kids from infancy on are forced unwillingly and sometimes unknowingly into being the bait in these porn vids and shows. Wonder how many live to adulthood ?
