Here is something that appears to be a big development, the video is about 10 minutes long from the point I have it cued up to, but the general point will be clear after just a few minutes worth.
It’s about a development in Artificial Intelligence. The video was published yesterday, March 21st.
If I understood correctly, the currently available AI programs have been ‘trained’ by humans, which requires a lot of time and manpower. Facebook’s neural network AI, called Llama, was somehow obtained by Stanford (I think the video explains how, I watched it yesterday afternoon), and Stanford did something which, for some reason, nobody else had done before.
The group at Stanford used the Chat GBT AI to train the Llama AI, removing (replacing) the human element as a ‘trainer’.
Having AI train another AI accelerated the learning curve exponentially.
Ark Investment (a technology fund managed by Cathie Wood) recently calculated that this technology, which cost $4.6 million dollars to create in 2020, and costs $450K today, would fall to a cost of just $30 by 2030.
Instead, according to this news, we have basically reached this point in something like 6 weeks, instead of 8 years.

And if this is the case, it means that what was predicted to be possible by 2030 in relation to this type of cost savings, should essentially be possible, sometime around now.
If I understand correctly, this might be a reasonable analogy.
Suppose in 1972, when computers took up an entire room, it was predicted that it would be eight years (1980) before advances in technology and cost saving efficiencies of scale made it possible to have a desktop PC for the masses. Then instead of 8 years, just six weeks later, somebody reveals a desktop PC to the world, and it only cost a couple hundred dollars.
I copied a portion of the transcript below from youtube, and then went through it to break it up a little, so it’s easier to read than a huge block of text. I didn’t try to match the video for where the speaker began and ended sentences, which is hard to do when someone is doing what amounts to a stream-of-consciousness monologue.

Into: “This is about Stanford’s new alpaca software this is something that they did in a couple of weeks for around six hundred dollars which is rather incredible and the author AI explained here is really really you know very intrigued about the fact that Stanford is able to do this for such an inexpensive price.
But I actually have a slightly different take. I’m not going to play clips of this video for you, I will leave again the link to this in the description so you can watch it [note: see link in the next post]. I highly recommend watching it, it’s just a 10 minute video it’s very very quick to watch, no big deal, but it does go into exactly how alpaca was created.
The important part about alpaca for me is not so much the cost of the creation but how they did it. So how did Stanford train a large language model in just a few days, for six hundred dollars, that cost hundreds of millions of dollars dollars for open AI and other competitors to program and create just months ago?
And GPT4 just came out, so how did this happen? What happened was Stanford was able to take Meta’s neural network model Llama and they used the smallest version of this, which is only less than seven billion parameters, I think 6.4 billion to be exact, maybe 6.7, anyway a very very small model compared to the 174 billion parameter GPT3, and at a guess 500 billion parameter GPT4.
Anyway, they use that and then they use the GPT3 API to create prompts to train Llama, so essentially what they did was rather than having human beings in the loop, which is the way that these things have traditionally been created — traditionally in the past couple of years anyway, it’s an immensely complicated time-consuming and expensive task — what they’ve done is they’ve allowed GPT 3 – 3.5 to actually create the prompt to train Llama to make it really, really good.
Now it’s only seven billion parameters, so this alpaca is not fantastic, but there are versions of Llama that go up to about 65 billion parameters, and of course there’s gpt4 right now, so if Stanford redoes this — and the odds are that they probably will, you know, honestly within just a couple of weeks, we’ll probably see this — but if they take the the high-end version of Llama which is about 10 times more parameters, and they train it with the newest version of GPT4 rather than the GPT 3.5 that they used to have, the odds are that alpaca 2 or whatever they call it is going to be substantially better than this version of Alpaca that they trained.
And it probably won’t cost them much more money to do it, especially now that they’ve figured out how, so we’re looking at something that is incredibly inexpensive and very very fast to train, and can be done on existing models, so Stanford didn’t invent anything new.
They didn’t invent any new models or anything, all they did was bash the two of these things together, and allow them to train on each other, and the AI training itself is the part that is game changing.”

In addition, I believe that they did the training inside Amazon’s AWS network, so the computer-to-computer connection time was dramatically shortened. [I had been going through the Alpaca announcement to try and figure out what hardware was needed to run the fully-trained beastie.]

My curiosity about AI started out as defensive mostly, in the sense that I wanted to know what it was, in the same way one would want to know if a new predator moved into the neighborhood.
Or if the enemy has a new tool, it is probably a good idea to find out what it is, and how it might be used against you.
Once that process started, it naturally lead to thinking of ways that I might be able to use the same tool.
CBDC is a non-starter for me. Until or unless the FED can come up with a justifiable use-case and demonstrate how it will be impossible for the Fed / gov’t to weaponize it against the People (which they will never be able to do, since weaponization is the objective), it’s just silly to contemplate using it.
As for cypto, to me it’s a mixed bag. As one of my favorite crypto analysts says, 99% of all crypto is either garbage or a scam-coin, with no value or application.
But using models that take all of the available data for any given crypto coin into account (e.g., number of coins in existence, amount of annual inflation if any, how much is held by insiders vs. held by the public, how many developers are creating applications for that specific coin, how many daily users utilize the coin, etc., etc.), it is possible to determine which are the 1% that have potential and are real projects with real world applications, vs. the 99% that are just ponzi schemes.
I see Bitcoin as distinct from all others, as it was created in response to the 2008 financial crisis and the inherent problems with fiat currency, and those problems have only grown exponentially worse over the past 15 years.
Unlike all other cryptos (that I am aware of), Bitcoin has a baked in limit that will ever be produced (21 million Bitcoins), so after the limit is reached, inflation will be impossible.
Unlike all other cryptos, which are ‘launched’ by a company like an IPO, Bitcoin has no corporate entity behind it, no CEO, no board of directors, no one to be controlled or corrupted or blackmailed, etc.
The Bitcoin blockchain is decentralized to the point where it should be impervious to even a nation-state level attack, putting it beyond the reach of corrupt human governments.
Bitcoin addresses the problems associated with a store of value which cannot be debased or confiscated by corrupt governments. It is also ‘trustless’, meaning there is no middleman (bank or similar central entity) between the ‘buyer’ and ‘seller’, it uses a peer to peer transaction model.
To ‘mine’ Bitcoin takes work and costs money (electricity, computer processing power, employees to manage the effort, etc.), in a similar sense as mining the ground for precious metals does. So there is real and measurable ‘value’ that has gone in to every Bitcoin produced, it was not just wished into existence out of thin air, like fiat currency is (and like most cryptos are). If I remember correctly, from a recent video, it currently costs around $15k to $18k on average, to mine a single Bitcoin. Cost varies depending on the computer hardware being used (the newest hardware is faster and more efficient than older hardware) and the cost of electricity, which varies widely across the world, etc.
Like anything else, ultimately Bitcoin only has value so long as other people decide it has value to them also.
But this is the case with any medium of exchange throughout time. Glass beads had value to certain American Indian tribes, as just one example.
It only takes two people to agree that something has value in order for that thing to be used as a medium of exchange. Bitcoin has many more than just two people who agree that it has value, and so for those people, it does.
In a similar sense, most people agree that gold has value, and so it does. Enough people agree that there is always a liquid market for buying and selling gold, just as there is (albeit currently a smaller market) with Bitcoin.
But if someone who had never been taught or enculturated to value gold was presented with a gold nugget or bar, it would have no value to him, until or unless he understood why other people valued it, and then, decided for himself whether it was in his own interest to value it likewise.
A friend of mine brought Bitcoin to my attention back around 2012, when it was still very cheap, less than $100 per Bitcoin (I just checked, it was just $4 on February 6, 2012, it looks like the high was $14 on 12-31-12). I didn’t understand it, didn’t investigate it, didn’t learn about it, and missed an opportunity that could have had life changing consequences.
I bought a little silver instead. Today, if I still had it, that silver would be worth about $1.85 / oz more than I paid for it. [edit: I must have bought silver in 2013, it was at around $21.50/oz]
One Bitcoin, which I could have obtained for between $4 and $14 in 2012, is worth $27,358 at the time of this post.
And it wasn’t just a one-time miss, it has been cheap lots of times, and cheap for long periods of time, and I missed them all. It was right there, but I wasn’t even looking. I could have thrown a little pocket change at it, and wound up with enough to buy a house free and clear.
Could have purchased 100 Bitcoin for $1,400 if I bought at the very top in 2012.
Today, just 11 years later, it would be worth $2,735,800. At the all-time high a year or so ago ($69k), a hundred Bitcoin was worth nearly $7 million.
I could have bought a lot of silver with that… 🙂

I know very little about it, but I know enough to believe it will be used for harm and to promote dehumanization and probably even depopulation.
This might have been posted already (I haven’t read everything), but there are AI-generated pics of Trump being “arrested” and chased by police.
They are turning reality on its head. It has been happening with gender-bending, election-stealing, and lies of all sorts. IMO, AI will speed that up exponentially.
AI will be, if it not already, a cancer on free folks.
It certainly could be.
Since any tool can be used for good or evil, it seems important that as many ‘good guys’ learn about it (and how to use it) as possible.
When guns were invented, the last thing we would have wanted, is for only outlaws to have them, and know how to use them 😉

I’m not sure, because I don’t fully understand where they are going with this, and therefore I don’t fully understand the implications.
The way it is being implemented to Microsoft products and Google products, AI could be the ultimate desktop search engine, finding anything on your computer (articles you saved, receipts you scanned, research, web browser bookmarks or a website you visited and want to go back to, contact information from an email you sent or received years ago, etc.) for you instantly, which would be nice.
AI can be used to summarize long articles or I suppose even whole books, which if it does this well, could be helpful to get through masses of information Cliff Notes style for articles, and for books, help you decide whether you want to invest the time to read the whole thing.
It seems like AI could be like a personal assistant, who never forgets anything and always knows where to find exactly what you’re looking for, which might actually be very helpful for seasoned citizens, as many of us become more forgetful over the years.
I think it could make an excellent Bible study aid, an instantaneous concordance, instantaneous cross-reference to other passages on the same subject, etc.
AI would also make it easy to resolve (reconcile and harmonize) any apparent contradiction in Scripture. It is very time consuming to unravel what may at first appear to be contradictions. A capable AI could either explain and resolve the contradiction in one step, or alternately, answer your questions (with you playing the part of ‘investigator’) which would help lead you to the answer.
Suppose you were curious about any current doctrine, commandment or tradition, that it may be of men and not of God. Instead of using the search tool on an online Bible website (which requires you to search for the exact word or phrase, and you may have to search several Bible translations to find what you are looking for), an AI could take your search term, search all translations simultaneously, and variations of the word you are searching for, and present the results in written or verbal format.
If the AI has access to all available historical data (encyclopedias, history books, historical documents, research, etc.), it can tell you the answer to your inquiry.
For example, you might be curious about the outfit worn by monks. Is it of God, or of man?
“AI, where is the authority for ‘monk’ found in Scripture?”
AI: It is not found in Scripture.
“AI, who was the first monk?”
AI: the historical record does not identify who was first, but the earliest on record was [whoever].
“AI, when did monks start wearing the traditional brown clothing?”
AI: The brown cloak and scapular was first used by a monk named Simon Stock, in 1251 AD. The source for this information is [xxx] and [xxx] and [xxx]. I can read the relevant passages from the original sources to you, or put them on your screen so you can read them yourself, which would you prefer?
“On the screen please. AI, give me some background on what led to this development, any disputes or objections that were made at the time, by whom, and how quickly the brown cloak and scapular were adopted and by whom, etc.”

For modern news, AI could be very helpful in ferreting out ‘fake news’.

Apropos of nothing much, here’s another gloss on a very famous piece of film from 1906.
This is Market Street — the main drag of San Francisco — moving on the front of a cable car down to the Ferry Building. It was originally supposed to be part of an advertising project run by some guys in NYC to show how nice it would be to visit SF. They filmed it days before the 1906 earthquake, and shipped the film across country to be developed….but discovered when they had developed it that their client didn’t exist any more. So they tucked the film away for about 100 years.
When it was first pulled out of the vault, it was a nine-day wonder. This particular version has been colorized, the frame rate has been adjusted, it has been digitally processed for stability and sharpness, and it has a soundtrack. It looks really nice.
A couple of points for style…..
Note that almost every wheeled vehicle has the same width, wheel-to-wheel (it’s the same as the cable car’s tracks, but horse wagons and motorcars have the same dimension). Supposedly, that measure goes back to the Romans and the standardization meant that you could follow tracks in the road from town-to-town knowing that they would stay passable.
Cable car tracks (like the ones that the camera follows) not only have rails on either side, but they have a small slot in the middle. There are two human-powered levers that control a cable car. The first is a brake — as I recall, it presses directly onto the tracks from the car and doesn’t try to just stop wheels. The second is essentially a little arm with a hand that reaches down through the little central slot and grabs onto the tow cable. There is no engine in the cable car, nor is there any electricity. The tow cable is pulled by a large engine (probably steam at this time) somewhere on the line. When the cable car reaches the end of the line at the ferry building, it stops on a turntable and the arm is lifted off the cable (though still underground). When the turntable rotates, the cable car is positioned over the cable going the opposite direction. When it grabs that, off it goes.
You can well imagine that behind the car turntable, there is a large underground wheel that the cable goes around to change from an uptown cable to a downtown cable. Once you consider that both ends of the line need such a wheel, you realize that the engine that drives the line can be anywhere on the line.
It’s also amusing to note that you see several types of enclosed passenger car on this journey — cable cars riding on the special cable-car tracks; electric cars with a pantograph arm that reaches up to overhead power lines that cross Market Street at an angle; and horse-drawn cars that wander through. Even though they have different wheels and propulsion, the passenger compartments are quite similar.
Amazing. All those vehicles and people going wherever they want, no turn signals, no brake lights, no traffic lights, no stop signs… it looks like chaos, but nobody hits anything or gets run over 😁
Part of this is that there aren’t exactly any speed demons around. Several times, boys outrun the cable car.
However, there is another factor that is just as important. People were expected to have a certain level of situational awareness. Some places still require this —
So, when I was 15 years old, my parents shipped me off on a “if this is Tuesday, it must be Belgium” tour of Europe with a college group. After flying and flying and flying and flying, we got to Rome and took a bus to our accommodations…..or, rather, a couple of doors down from what was originally supposed to be our accommodations, at a youth hostel. We were told that we could go across the street to a Holiday Inn and change some money, or just settle in. I opted to try to get some local cash.
So we go to this road. It had a marked zebra crossing, and was only one lane in each direction, but when we looked for a clean break in the traffic — well, we got bupkis. It seemed like the drivers would see our uncertainty and speed up.
We milled around there for almost ten minutes with no luck whatsoever, until this little Italian grandmother, with a cane, limped up to the crossing next to us. She then lifted her cane and pointed it at a random oncoming Fiat — whereupon he slammed on his brakes and came skidding to a stop at the edge of the zebra crossing. She then started to make her way across the road.
We all glanced at each other, then followed. When she got to the center divide, she didn’t need to use her cane — a driver stopped for her. All of us crossed to the other side, and the rat-race restarted behind us.
This was one of the biggest “Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore” moments for me.
When it came time to go back, the road was just as busy — and we had no granny to escort us across. So I picked a car, pointed to it and made eye contact, and started walking toward it as it drove to the crossing [mentally preparing myself to be bounced off of its hood]. He stopped. After I started crossing the road (with the others in our group with me), the other direction was easier.
I was the youngest person in the entire tour, but I had figured out a couple of very important things. Number One, you need moxie to cross the street in Italy. Number Two, do NOT mess with Italian grandmothers.
License plate 4867 was in on it. That’s why they show up so many times. This also happens with the VW bugs in Bullitt.

It is a great car chase, but there are so many humorous bits. As an example, unless the guy has small hands, it looks like he’s got a 10-guage shotgun — yet he carefully rolls down the window before taking a potshot at the Mustang.
Back in the late 1970s, my family lived next to a guy who (among other things) held extra cars for Hollywood. He lived right next door, then had a car lot about a mile away. One of the General Lees from Dukes of Hazzard was in his lot.
When I see the Firebirds and GTOs and such, I remember his collection of messed-up ones.

I once visited an off the beaten track private museum and a running narrow track train.
In the museum they had autos from poir to the model T. They still had the couplings to add shafts for a horse. 😄 So they were LITERALLY horseless carriages. Given all that engineering had been done, I do not find it surprising that old carriages and autos would have the same track width.

It goes on either side of the front axle. I have an antique that I can either use a single horse shafts or a pony pole by a quick switch.
The Romans literally had a “standard cart.” They all pretty much had the same undercarriage, smaller wheels in front that could turn without hitting the body of the cart itself.
We know this because that standard cart is often depicted in surviving artwork (like stone reliefs, etc.).
It would be like, today, thousands of small businesses building the same model of car or truck.
More modern carriages have a cutunder. I have one with a full fifth wheel that can turn a full 360 degrees. You can spin the front wheels all the way around. It is fun. Step on the break. Bring the horses around so they face backwards. Release the break and the carriage spins on it’s center. Can’t do that with a car! though you sort of can with a fifth wheel trailer.
This is a cutunder with a ‘reach’ that is the center bar that prevents the wheels from fully turning. In anything that does not allow a full cutunder, there are rollers that the wheel hits so the wheels donn’t suddenly stop turning.

aubergine can you explain why cohen’s lawyer was in front of the grand jury? all reports claim he made toast out of cohen’s reputation. so why was he there if the prosecutor is only allowed to present? i was baffled by that.
When I listened to the attorney talk about his time in front of the grand jury, he said the D.A. was looking only for information about a handful of emails. He was cherry-picking to attempt to bolster his case, which is very, very weak.
Cohen’s attorney forcefully provided the unasked-for truth about Cohen, and stated it was clear to him that the D.A. was not seeking the truth. The D.A. thought he could use Cohen’s attorney, but the attorney just didn’t allow himself to be used.
That’s my take based on what I’ve heard and read.

So yes, there are solutions, none of them pretty, and any semblance of restoration of freedom and democracy will come at a very dear price as the elites are in their last ditch effort to take over all of it in the WEF version of the “Great Reset.” And, the “elite” is not one tight-knit, united group either, as we’re seeing splintering there too.
What happens next will be determined on whether those that want the dollar have enough power, in which case it’ll be letting the banks fail while fighting inflation with higher rates. The WEF types favor the inflationary spiral, moving to guaranteed income and complete control of our lives, where we own nothing and are supposedly happy.
And they can’t deliver on anything as we don’t have the production capacity to support it, and we can’t keep buying Chinese goods on credit with nothing to back it up. The Davos crowd hasn’t a clue as to how to make their system sustainable in any way, shape or form. Meanwhile the rest of the world is happy to watch the west sink. The idiots like Claus Schwab are destroying us and effectively cutting the rest of the world free. And he’s stupid enough to think somehow he’ll be in charge when the smoke clears. Delusional.”

Michael Cohen had no interest in telling the New York D.A. about this letter. It was from one of his attorneys. I’d bet dollars to donuts that Robert Costello had a copy, and that may be where this came from.
It would be in Cohen’s files. It may be a part of the 600 pages of evidence that was presented to the D.A. by Costello, and ignored.
From all I’ve read – It’s beginning to sound like Cohen was the one involved with Daniels and wanted to use Trump money to pay her off and keep it secret from his own wife and the Trumps as well.

A pilot had a medical emergency on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Columbus, Ohio today.
