- 1 ounce Don Q Cristal rum
- 1 ounce Plantation dark rum
- 1 ounce Kalani coconut liqueur
- 3/4 ounce grilled pineapple juice*
- 3/4 ounce orange juice, freshly squeezed
- 1/2 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
- 1/2 ounce cream of coconut
- Garnish: cherry
- Garnish: orange slice
- Garnish: grated nutmeg
Steps
- Add the white rum, dark rum, coconut liqueur, grilled pineapple juice, orange juice, lime juice and cream of coconut into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
- Pour into a highball glass over crushed ice.
- Garnish with a skewered cherry and orange slice.
- Dust with fresh grated nutmeg.
*Grilled pineapple juice: Grill 6 pineapple wedges in a stovetop pan on medium-high heat for 2 minutes on each side. Muddle and strain.

I was actually thrown when Barb said “sheephead wrasse”. There is a California sheephead wrasse that is quite common to encounter diving off the coast. They like shallow rocky water or kelp…..which, coincidentally, are also preferred by divers.
They are always found in groups with one male and a bunch of females. The females are pleasant fish-shaped fish (pointy fronts, fins along body, fin in back) that are sort of kelp beige with white chins. The single male, by contrast, is a blockier fish colored black and red with a solid forehead — but, again, the white chin.
The fish all initially grow up female. When they are a good-sized group, the largest female will transition into a male — growing blockier and enlarging the forehead while changing coloration. If two start to change at roughly the same time, one will “back off” and return to being female. If two groups merge, the smaller male will gradually return to being female.
Because of their superior intellects, the State fish and game people have imposed minimum size limits for catching this species. In practice, this means that virtually all those taken are male. This puts the breeding group on hold for several months while the next largest fish transitions to being male. Once the new male is “bulked-up” and ready to spawn with the group, he becomes eligible for fishermen to harvest.

Relax. After nearly 20 years, SCOTUS agreed with the Sacketts — mud puddles are NOT “navigable waters”.
Nothing will compensate them for their loss of time, however.
However my ‘swamp’ that is 500 feet from a river but connected by a stream IS and so is practically every other wetland in the USA.
The key sentence is:
Most water is connected to a navigable river via the drainage basin that includes swamps, creeks and intermittent streams. HECK it even includes man made farm ponds since most, like my neighbors, have an overflow to an intermittent stream that eventually connects to a river.
My understanding is that all intermittent connections do not count, as per SCOTUS. Otherwise, storm drains would be “navigable waters”.

This may help explain things. I’ll explain later.
Commercial shift patterns usually 06:00 – 14:00, 14:00 – 22:00, 22:00 – 06:00.
WM posted we’re back at 18:29, give them half an hour to sort things out, could mean they started at 18:00, last dog.
Does that give a clue as to which dept., was involved ?

Shortly after the site came back online, I got an explanation of why it happened.
The alleged reason is that a new security certificate failed to load properly to the web server.
I think that answer is true as far as what was stated, but it is not complete. There are better explanations for what I observed, but I’m not going to give the enemies of this site any hints as to what I know or how I know it.
There is a better explanation, which I prefer to keep in my nuclear stockpile. 😎
Nevertheless, what was stated above is true. A new security certificate failed to load properly to the web server. The issue was resolved.

fwiw I attempted several times, even from different computers & more than a week apart, to reply to the “anathema” comment by someone, forget who, who was sharing their book review that had been chopped down by a review site. They had their unedited review behind the “spoiler” label in their comment. This was from the Wednesday before Memorial Day, iirc. I never could get the reply to go through. Also in attempting to look at the “likes” on their comment it would never show for me. I could easily see likes on other comments on that day’s post though…very strange stuff happening, periodically, on the Q-Tree…
Also, while looking at this post, 5/26 on 6/5-6/6, there was no green ball & comment count initially, the black ribbon at the top also included “forum” links, atypically, & when I went to copy a link to your opening comment clicking on the comment # did nothing…all of those issues appeared to resolve with a page reload but given that I’d opened the page like a half hour earlier it was strange & atypical behavior…fyi…

To me, it’s honorable to offer resignation under such circumstances.
This isn’t about politics – it’s just about screwing up big-time. I think he offered his resignation, and it was accepted, rightly in both cases.
I’m very neutral in the Trump-DeSantis fight, even though I pick Trump strongly for a whole bunch of reasons. If Trump was not running, my back-up would be Ron DeSantis. I think denigrating DeSantis is a mistake. I think he’s done an enormous amount for conservatism. I see him as Trump’s best student, despite his denial of Trump’s role as his master. I don’t know why DeSantis doesn’t acknowledge Trump, but that’s not important. What’s important is winning and making America great again. And I think the more great leaders we have for that purpose, the better. Whether DeSantis stays in Florida as Governor, or becomes part of the Trump administration, either way, we need him.
We need smart people who are born leaders who know how to make conservatism work. There is only one Trump. We need people like DeSantis, too! Losing either one is a disaster, IMO.
Sundance plays as he does for good reasons. I play as I do for my good reasons. They don’t have to be the same way, or the same reasons. It’s a complicated political ecosystem. “Live your best life”, as SD likes to say, is intentionally broad in that way. Knights, rooks, bishops or queens. Be one. Just don’t be a pawn! 😉
