In Hebrew, the words translated “holy” and “holiness” have to do with being “set apart,” “separate,” “different,” or “dedicated.” The absolute moral purity of God’s character sets Him apart, making Him different from every other living creature. Yet He calls His people to be holy as He is holy. Humans generally think of holiness as obeying God’s law. But, for God, holiness is not a mere action or a set of behaviors. Holiness is His essence. God is morally and ethically perfect by nature. So how can we set ourselves apart to reflect God’s holiness in the way we live?
The Bible reveals that God’s holiness of character is a model for believers’ lives and our shared communion with others. Both passages (Leviticus 19:2 and 1 Peter 1:16) and their surrounding verses stress that those who wish to replicate God’s holiness must reflect His holy nature in their relationships with other people and their sincere love for fellow believers.
In Leviticus 19:1–37, God applies the Ten Commandments to various areas of life, spelling out in great detail for the Israelites how to be holy as He is holy. They were to honor their parents, keep the Sabbath, not practice idolatry, worship and offer sacrifices properly according to God’s instructions, provide for the poor, not steal, cheat, seek revenge, and not follow pagan customs and rituals. The commands continue, covering every aspect of spiritual, moral, family, work, and community life. Included is the charge to “love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD” (Leviticus 19:18).
Peter also lays out how we can live in the light of God’s command to be holy as He is holy. First, he says to discipline our minds: “So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world” (1 Peter 1:13, NLT). We are to exercise self-control and stay alert both mentally and spiritually. This mental discipline requires a concentrated focus on trusting in the Lord to get us to our final destination, where we will experience the fullness of God’s grace in Jesus Christ.
Paul expresses it like this: “Not that I have already reached the goal or am already perfect, but I make every effort to take hold of it because I also have been taken hold of by Christ Jesus. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:12–14, CSB). If we focus only on the short-term—our current situation—we run the risk of straying off course. But if we live with total trust that Jesus Christ will return to accomplish all that He started in us (Philippians 1:6), it will make a significant difference in how we live.
“You must live as God’s obedient children,” says Peter, “Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires” (1 Peter 1:14, NLT). When we “do not conform to the evil desires” (NIV) we had before we came to know Christ, we live in response to God’s holiness, adopting His behavior as our pattern.
This change of behavior begins on the inside with our attitude and mind-set. When our inner thought life, our purpose, and our character are changed into the image of Christ, our outward selves and outworking behavior will alter naturally. This process is the Holy Spirit’s work of sanctification: “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
As part of his teaching on cultivating holiness, Peter instructs believers to “live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear” (1 Peter 1:17). Living as strangers here on earth hammers home the idea that our earthly lives with all their challenges and struggles are only temporary. Even in our pain, we can live with hope as citizens of a future heavenly reality. Reverent fear refers to humble, respectful awe of God, which motivates us to live obedient, holy lives.
Finally, Peter makes the point that living in the light of God’s holiness means demonstrating “sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart” (1 Peter 1:22, NLT).
Believers ought to be notably different from non-believers and their old selves because of their relationship with God through Jesus Christ. His holy presence in our lives produces in us a loving obedience to God’s Word, which ultimately forms God’s character in us. If we are set apart for God’s use, separated from our old, common way of living, we are following God’s command to “be holy for I am holy.”

The “De Marinis” paper showed that the LINE1 human liver cells DNA was changed by BNT162b2 within 6 hours in their in vitro experiments.
N1-methylpseudouridine is used in the modRNA COVID-19 “vaccines” to specifically evade the recipient body’s natural immune system ability to “recognize” the ingredient as an “enemy”, then proceed to destroy it.

I guess this is intended to show that rising CO2 levels don’t correspond with the temperatures on Christmas Day. If rising CO2 were causing warming, then the Christmas Day temperatures would be getting higher. I don’t know if the CO2 measurements are trustworthy.
Any temperature increase is likely too small to be observed in a graph like that – it’s just noise. Which does bring up the question of why we would worry about it.
There is not even a validated method for measuring carbon mineralization in a controlled environment in a laboratory. I’m talking about the same soil in the same bulk density in the chamber and wetted with the same volume of the same water, and different researchers in the same lab AND in cooperating labs CANNOT consistently measure the CO2 produced by the soil microbes under the same incubation time and temperature. It is not possible that the atmospheric CO2 is measured accurately over that span of time.

In light of Carl’s wonderful message today I offer the following.
Wifey and I begin a new chapter today. We begin regular attendance and participation in a different church nearby. this is hard for us as we are not “church hoppers” having only been members of two congregations over our nearly 4 decades together. However, we have attended several dozen churches at various points and various reasons over that time.
With that understanding there has never been a local church congregation with a more clearly articulated State of Faith that matches our understanding of scripture and Christian living than at this church we will soon join. We have known the Senior and Worship pastors for decades along with knowing this same senior pastor was mentored in his youth to present day by the senior pastor of the church we are leaving.
You may ask why we are leaving to join a different church. We listened and are responding to God’s call on our lives. Apparently he is not done with us yet on this planet. Our daughter’s family are members of this church and our grandchildren are in need of further guidance and instruction in the faith in that environment. by us. They want us there with them to help and they all feel their church family could use our gifts. Both the Senior Pastor and Worship Pastor fully agree. We had reached a point of stagnation and becoming too comfortable at our previous church. However, our deacon friends and former senior pastor are in full support of why we are answering this call. That is a blessing since we are all brothers and sisters in the universal church of our Lord.
We continue to seek to “live in the light of God’s holiness” as Carl stated. We continue as foreigners and strangers until the appointed time. If you are so inclined I appreciate any prayers and thoughts in support that you may offer.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Carl you have hit the topic on which I have been meditating over the last couple of months. Particularly your very last sentence has been echoing in my mind. I am not sure why. I don’t think it is Advent. I have spent the last two months reading a book on the Sermon on the Mount by Martyn Lloyd-Jones. I think that is probably the material that the Holy Spirit has been using to focus me on what is important. I have spent most of my life in the company of Christians who placed particular emphasis on holiness (the Nazarenes and a couple of Pentecostal denominations). However, as you might expect, they ultimately found that focusing on outward behavior was easier than trying to examine and change the heart. The results are typical of Christians who wish to please God. Most of us get caught up in following rules and often our behavior limits the power of God instead of allowing it to shine out of our lives. I assume it is a natural instinct for us but it does often result in us missing the point. From my reading of the Bible and the writings of many Christians beyond the Bible it is my conclusion that God has spent considerable effort to get us to understand that we need to set ourselves apart. Not in an elitist manner but in a way that the rest of humanity can see a desirable difference that would honor God and draw people to Him. Part of my daily prayer has been to ask God to send His Holy Spirit to teach me to be holy as He is holy. It is a command I desperately wish to honor. Good on you Carl, you have done a good deed that has led me to glorify God.

They represent each branch of the Confederate armed forces: Miner, sailor, sapper, and soldier.[128] There are four figures (two in high relief, two in low relief) facing Minerva on the southwest corner of the mount. There are six figures (three in high relief, three in low relief) facing Minerva on the southeast corner of the mount. A uniformed black slave, following his master to war, is depicted among the six figures on the southeast.[42][137][144] The slave is not a soldier, although the image is often referred to as a “black soldier”. It is, as the UDC pointed out in 1914, “a faithful Negro body-servant following his young master”.[145] This particular image was inspired by Thomas Nelson Page’s 1887 Lost Cause story, Marse Chan: A Tale of Old Virginia.[146]
On the east, northeast, north, northwest, and west sides of the cylindrical mount are the remainder of the figures[141][126] in high relief.[124] These figures are intended to represent the sacrifices, devotion, and heroism of all social classes of people in the Confederacy.[124] The figures depict:
A military officer kissing his infant child, who is held in the arms of a weeping black mammy while another child clings to her skirts;[42][144]
A shirtless blacksmith leaving his anvil and tools behind as his sorrowful wife looks on;[42][144]
A clergyman and his grieving wife saying goodbye to their teenage son (who has enlisted);[144] and
A young lady binding a sword and sash onto her beau.[42][147]
The inclusion of the “faithful black servants” was purposeful.[137] Sculptor Moses Ezekiel included them because he wanted to undermine what he called the “lies” told about the South and slavery in Harriet Beecher Stowe’s 1852 novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin and wished to rewrite history “correctly” (his word) to depict black slaves’ support for the Confederate cause.[144]
An oak tree spreads its branches behind the couple and their son and the blacksmith’s family. It represents the support family lends to the Confederate cause, as well as the strength of Confederate families.[147]

Anything that takes that long isn’t an objective to be achieved, it’s a lifestyle, the process becomes the objective, and the objective is never reached.
For one thing, the enemy isn’t going to be static for a decade or two while we make inroads, they will be countering.
