We were almost all banned by somebody (unknown) for talking about Q here. A few were banned for going BACK to CTH and doing things like talking about Q or this place, or for mentioning bans (a verboten subject at CTH).
Most people at CTH didn’t realize – we were all BANNED.
We’ve had various theories on why “they” banned us, but nobody knows. The first rule of CTH moderation of Q folks is that it never happened.

On a completely different subject…..I got distracted by other things and missed the introduction of the Raspberry Pi 4. Holy Schlabotnik!!!! Credit-card-sized computer starting at $35 with two available memory kicks. Base level has real RJ45 gigabit internet with two USB 3.0 ports; max level has 4G memory at $55 and can run Ubuntu desktop at 64-bit — with TWO 4K displays! The Pi folks have done it, again, this thing is insane. All previous pi’s were on 40 nm silicon, and they went with 28 nm for the 4…..everything is faster, cooler, more adept, and less-power-hungry. In addition, it’s now based on Debian Buster.
I’m just boggled. With real gigabit ethernet and USB 3.0, it’s a NAS. With 4G memory, it’s a desktop. With two 4G screens, it’s a media appliance. I’ve already got a 2B+ configured as a printserver on two different networks…..the 4 has just a ton of extra options.
Are we talking about a laptop, tablet or desktop? And where would someone go to obtain one of these beasts?

Earth Day was FOUNDED TO THE DAY on the exact 100-year centenary of LENIN’S BIRTHDAY for a reason. It’s not an accident. It’s a FLAG-PLANT IN HISTORY. They do this shit. I’ve seen ChiComs do this “flag plant” stuff all the time on smaller things in secret. It is motivated on “deep inevitability”, which is the ultimate herd-keeper of Marxism. When the going gets tough, they keep people on the plantation with “inevitability mantras”. “WE CANNOT BE DEFEATED. SOCIALISM IS INEVITABLE.” Hence the huge Bernie red-face when Trump declared the exact opposite in his SOTU speech.
2017 would have been the 100-year the RUSSIAN REVOLUTION. I believe that coronating America’s first “unbounded socialist President” – basically a true communist leader – was supposed to happen in 2017. Their plan allowed for some slippage and recovery, but 2017 was the motivating goal. Two-year prep times for those big events (2006 House to prepare for Obama in 2008 by creating House-driven financial crisis) makes sense – so the CRISIS that would propel the 2017 socialist leader would happen in 2015.
That 100-year goal looked very doable in November of 1963, with America scrambling to NOT SOLVE Kennedy’s assassination.
Each BIG setback gave them MORE and MORE anxiety. Reagan was a BIG ONE. Trump even BIGGER. Nixon made them cocky, IMO, and they REPLAYED A PLOT (impeachment generator, scandal-generating scandal), which gave away historic code, much like when the Soviets replayed one-time pads and subverted their own scheme. Very important to understand their FLEXIBILITY on getting to their goals – on scrambling to meet deadlines – but also their greater INFLEXIBILITY on historical goalposts.

I knew about the 2017 connection, but for some reason never connected that to Gore 2000/Hillary 2008 until your comments. I need to revisit a lot of my research with that timeline in mind.

If I may delve into the tin foil, I believe there’s a more occult explanation. It goes way beyond mere coincidence that POTUS chose to identify with a plus sign (+) years ago while Democrats splash minus signs (-) all over their campaign. A simple explanation is that they are appropriating the red and white stripes from the U.S. flag.
However I don’t believe things are all that they appear. Dems love typography, logos, and branding. He told his art director to create the official logo for the movie, he wanted it to “look very fascist”. The artist wasn’t very sure how to accomplish this, was looking at old books and collections to get a sense of what George wanted, when he got the idea that Helvetica was (supposed) a fascist influenced typeface. So he modeled the logo on Helvetica bold and used some of the worm-style lettering that was influenced by the American streamlining style from the 50s, like the popular NASA worm logo. The result was the bold STAR WARS logo that comes blaring in with music intentionally drawn from fascist influences.
I like sans-serif typefaces personally but once you see if you can’t unsee it. Remember the KOMs love to change cultural fundamentals. They always want to recalendar – the French Revolution is year zero, or the local revolution is year zero, new calendar designs, even trying to make ten day weeks, a concept that utterly failed. They redefine language, the Italians in 1930s had to change their pronouns to meet fascist concepts of plurality, like using the royal “we” rather than more individual pronouns, a forerunner to gender pronoun madness. The Chinese KOMs decided to completely change their written language and invented “simplified” typefaces. All this is like sci-fi utopian dreaming to engineer the social order – no stretch, sci-fi is the fantisization of utopianism unchained from the inconvenient structures and limitations of reality. They have no concept that VIRTUE and the moral development of character is foundational to social order, development, and all civilization, which is part of why they fail every time – they attack the local religion, which isn’t so much about kill religious beliefs as it is about undermining and destroying the fabric of social virtue so that they can gain political advantage appealing to man’s lower instincts and vices: greed, envy, and a perverted sense of justice. With noble chivalry and manly virtue, no socialist utopia can hope to exist, because no man will have the goodness or virtue in his heart to serve his neighbor for the “common good”.

That’s two things….a rod and a staff. This would have been very clear two thousand years ago, but people in a shopping mall today are unlikely to understand.
When you’re herding sheep, you have to guide them into proper behavior. To do so, you employ a convenient stick to move them left and right — a “rod”. When you move them from place to place, however, you rely on herding behavior — you move them along, sometimes for miles, then declare a place to be a pasture….by planting a staff there. When “thy rod and thy staff they comfort me”, one is directed into proper action in an area held secure by our Lord.
Various political figures try to misquote this and scramble its message. It says what it says.

And I say that as a gentle reminder….if we speak of our loved ones in a past tense, we do them (and ourselves) an great injustice. They are still very much PRESENT tense, they are simply living on a higher plane that we are prohibited from seeing by our mortal eyes.
There is no “was” re: a soul, there is only “is”. Every person we meet is an immortal being and will always be alive, even after the Great Day of the Lord’s judgment. In truth, no one dies…only our bodies, which is the soul’s spacesuit in this physical reality we inhabit.
And I feel this is important, because I’ve found this small but subtle distinction has an ENORMOUS impact on my thoughts, attitudes, and feelings when a loved person or pet makes their transition back into who they truly are.
If PHC simply isn’t here in the physical now, yet he still IS, this has a profound effect on my mental and emotional state. Whereas if I use the past tense when speaking of him, not only is it not accurate, it also has a very negative effect upon my head and heart space. I experience it as a dreaded and unwanted “good bye” vs. a simple, easy “see you later, aligator!”.
I hope I am making sense. One last thought….
When I have experienced mourning and grieving, I’ve found it is very difficult for me to be sincerely grateful and offer up praise for God. Here’s the trick…..that’s EXACTLY where the enemy wants me to be….having difficulty offering worship and praise to the Lord. Making these realizations, on the other hand, and understanding these subtle distinctions proves to be a barrier to the enemy’s designs on my grief, and I find I can more fully worship and offer sincere thanks to God when I realize a parting in THIS life is NOT a permanent good-bye but just a “see ya later!”.
My default is to talk to my deceased loved ones in the present. I plant a tree in my little orchard when one of us dies, and when I need to talk to them I go out to the orchard. I hope I don’t sound too crazy.

I’ve been having issues with the screening jumping around (sort of like jack hammer Marcia), but as soon as patrick archives older comments) it’s fine. Lots of posted videos have created problems, too.
The jumping of the screen is Twitter tweets and YouTube videos “filling out” AFTER the page location is scrolled to by the browser. It’s part of the WordPress code, in other words. Some people get hit harder with the results – especially older computers or computers with less RAM or slow processors.
I’ve got a new,ab brand new iPad. It shouldn’t be bouncing, but who knows.

When he talked about FB decisions regarding the abortion referendum in Ireland…….. my jaw was on the floor. FB did NOT allow any paid ads from Americans within Ireland pre-election, who were pro-life groups. FB talked “to people in Ireland” (who the heck did he talk to?) and Ireland had no law on the books to oppose it…. this Ireland left the decision up to Facebook and it was Facebook who decided to censor the pro-life groups from advertising.
FACEBOOK made the decision.

Now, Zuck also shrugged his shoulders, “In the absence of laws, we’re doing the best we can, please help regulate us”…….. blah, blah, blah.

As an admin of large groups, I can go to my analytics and easily see how many people have slipped into my group for foreign nations………. which can ONLY mean FB KNOWS where the account is registered. I have begged FB to tell me which country of origin which a new member makes a request. If the decision is left to the people………. we can self-censor……….. if I see a weird comment but immediately know the guy posting is sitting in Sierra Leone…. I can disregard. Roberts wrote “that the decision to reinstate a citizenship question cannot be adequately explained in terms of [the Department of Justice’s] request for improved citizenship data to better enforce the VRA.”
“Several points, considered together, reveal a significant mismatch between the decision [Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross] made and the rationale he provided.”
Roberts pointed to evidence showing that Ross, whose department oversees the census, intended to include a citizenship question on the census “about a week into his tenure, but it contains no hint that he was considering VRA enforcement in connection with that project.”
And he noted that the Justice Department didn’t indicate any interest in the citizenship data until contacted by Commerce officials, and that the evidence “suggests that DOJ’s interest was directed more to helping the Commerce Department than to securing the data.”
“Altogether, the evidence tells a story that does not match the explanation the secretary gave for his decision,” Roberts wrote.
“In the Secretary’s telling, Commerce was simply acting on a routine data request from another agency. Yet the materials before us indicate that Commerce went to great lengths to elicit the request from DOJ (or any other willing agency),” he continued. “And unlike a typical case in which an agency may have both stated and unstated reasons for a decision, here the VRA enforcement rationale—the sole stated reason—seems to have been contrived. We are presented, in other words, with an explanation for agency action that is incongruent with what the record reveals about the agency’s priorities and decisionmaking process.”
However, the chief justice said that the decision to add the citizenship question was not “substantively invalid.”
“But agencies must pursue their goals reasonably,” Roberts said. “What was provided here was more of a distraction.

Supreme Court Blocks Citizenship Question on Census, Decides 5-4 Federal Courts Can’t Police Redrawing of Districts

In two politically charged rulings, the Supreme Court dealt a huge blow Thursday to efforts to combat the drawing of electoral districts for partisan gain but put a hold on the Trump administration’s effort to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census.
On the court’s final day of decisions before a summer break, the conservative justices ruled that federal courts have no role to play in the dispute over the practice known as partisan gerrymandering. The decision could embolden political line-drawing for partisan gain when state lawmakers undertake the next round of redistricting following the 2020 census.
Voters and elected officials should be the arbiters of what is a political dispute, Chief Justice John Roberts said in his opinion for the court.
The court rejected challenges to Republican-drawn congressional districts in North Carolina and a Democratic district in Maryland.
The decision was a major blow to critics of the partisan manipulation of electoral maps that can result when one party controls redistricting.
The districting plans “are highly partisan by any measure,” Roberts said.
But he said courts are the wrong place to settle these disputes.
In dissent for the four liberals, Justice Elena Kagan wrote, “For the first time ever, this court refuses to remedy a constitutional violation because it thinks the task beyond judicial capabilities.” Kagan, in mournful tones, read a summary of her dissent in court to emphasize her disagreement.
Federal courts in five states concluded that redistricting plans put in place under one party’s control could go too far and that there were ways to identify and manage excessively partisan districts. Those courts included 15 federal judges appointed by Republican and Democratic presidents reaching back to Jimmy Carter.
But the five Republican-appointed justices decided otherwise.
The decision effectively reverses the outcome of rulings in Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina and Ohio, where courts had ordered new maps drawn and ends proceedings in Wisconsin, where a retrial was supposed to take place this summer after the Supreme Court last year threw out a decision on procedural grounds.
Proponents of limiting partisan gerrymandering still have several routes open to them, including challenges in state courts. There is a pending North Carolina lawsuit.
The North Carolina case has its roots in court decisions striking down some of the state’s congressional districts because they were illegal racial gerrymanders.
When lawmakers drew new maps as a result, Republicans who controlled the legislature sought to perpetuate the 10-3 GOP advantage in the congressional delegation. Democratic voters sued over the new districts, complaining that they were driven by partisan concerns.
The voters won a lower court ruling, as did Democrats in Wisconsin who challenged state assembly districts. But when the Supreme Court threw out the Wisconsin ruling on procedural grounds that did not address the partisan gerrymandering claims, the justices also ordered a new look at the North Carolina case. A three-judge court largely reinstated its ruling.
In Maryland, Democrats controlled redistricting and sought to flip one district that had been represented by a Republican for 20 years. Their plan succeeded, and a lower court concluded that the district violated the Constitution.
The high court agreed to hear both cases.
In the census case, the court said the Trump administration’s explanation for wanting to add the question was “more of a distraction” than an explanation. The administration had cited the need to improve enforcement of the Voting Rights Act.
It’s unclear whether the administration would have time to provide a fuller account. Census forms are supposed to be printed beginning next week.
Roberts again had the court’s opinion, with the four liberals joining him in the relevant part of the outcome.
A lower court found the administration violated federal law in the way it tried to add a question broadly asking about citizenship for the first time since 1950.
The Census Bureau’s own experts have predicted that millions of Hispanics and immigrants would go uncounted if the census asked everyone if he or she is an American citizen.
Immigrant advocacy organizations and Democratic-led states, cities and counties argue the citizenship question is intended to discourage the participation of minorities, primarily Hispanics, who tend to support Democrats, from filling out census forms.
The challengers say they would get less federal money and fewer seats in Congress if the census asks about citizenship because people with noncitizens in their households would be less likely to fill out their census forms.
Evidence uncovered since the Supreme Court heard arguments in the case in late April supports claims that the citizenship question is part of a broader Republican effort to accrue political power at the expense of minorities, the challengers say.
The Constitution requires a census count every 10 years. A question about citizenship had once been common, but it has not been widely asked since 1950. At the moment, the question is part of a detailed annual sample of a small chunk of the population, the American Community Survey.
The case stems from Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross’ decision in 2018 to add a citizenship question to the next census, over the advice of career officials at the Census Bureau, which is part of the Commerce Department. At the time, Ross said he was responding to a Justice Department request to ask about citizenship in order to improve enforcement of the federal Voting Rights Act.

Once both sides present their case, the “jury” cannot question the criminal for further information. The case has been presented. If the other sides attys did not bring a compelling argument, then case is decided based on facts in evidence. ONLY the facts in evidence.
Stories about “new evidence” surfacing after the case, implying the question was to punish blue states, intimidate hispanics, is speculative……. and these ‘facts’ are not in evidence.
In any event, the SCOTUS has kicked the decision back to lower court to inquire about motive.
I recall one instance where the Trump Admin stated they would print the surveys with and without question added. It would be more expensive, of course.

DP comment: an old friend who was a diocesan priest went the military route. It’s not for everyone. This particular man was/is (he’s currently in Ste. Genevieve, MO, I think) amazingly mentally tough. I’ve met enough Navy Chaplains to tell the world that they are as well. The clergy in the military deserve prayers.
Also, don’t forget that in WWII, on one of the big feasts, Mass was said on the battlefield. It was put over loudspeakers in English and German. All fighting stopped while the Mass was being said.

Speaking of PHC, does anyone else get the odd feeling he is planning his exit by physician assisted suicide?
I couldn’t find the words to ask him and it’s none of my business anyway, but I don’t blame anyone for resorting to it if they choose to do so. I cannot imagine being in constant pain to the point where morphine provides the only relief. And from what little I’ve read about morphine, it causes a human body to build up a tolerance level eventually to the point it no longer provides freedom from pain. But then, I’m no doctor.

My understanding is that in Oregon (maybe you can correct or affirm), most of the people who get the dose never actually use it, but it’s peace of mind, knowing that they can if it ever becomes unbearable.
In some regards, we treat our pets better than we treat ourselves.
Yeah, I don’t know what the stats are. But it would be comforting to know that if my pain became so unbearable even morphine wouldn’t make it go away, I’d have a resource to fall back on.
I just hope people don’t use the prescription when all they are is depressed. I’ve always said tomorrow’s another day and things will usually look better than today. I guess that philosophy wouldn’t apply if one was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
In my experiences (not going to go into details), morphine sufficient to treat the pain and hospice care are enough to go naturally, pain-free, no “assisted suicide”, almost always. The secret is taking enough morphine to treat the pain – nothing less. It just runs out the body’s clock with “time outs on pain”.

It really has been quite a month. Last night and tonight were amazing. To see such an outpouring of love and support was incredibly moving. I’m so grateful to everyone who came by to say goodbye or to let Patrick know how much they valued his friendship or encourage him as he takes wings to fly away to his new home.
Something just as amazing were the repeated references to the love and laughter “in the room” that was Patrick’s blog. I believe it was Amwick who said last night on his blog, “Where does all the love go when a blog shuts down?”
Where indeed. We need to carry it forward. For Patrick, and for each other.

I echo Marica’s sentiments. I have missed everyone here, missed being here, so much. But I wouldn’t trade the time I got to spend with Patrick for anything. He is one of a kind. And I also would have never known the bonds that formed between those of us who kept vigil………
For all I know, the entire purpose of this blog has been to assemble a group of people to spend time with Patrick and ease his burden. But more realistically, that’s probably just ONE of the purposes! 😀
There are some mysterious things which have happened over this last month or two, which argue for a bit of divine purpose here, but y’all will just have to take my word on that.
I am very happy that the folks here took it upon themselves to aid Patrick on his journey. Any negatives were offset by many, many positives.
My thoughts and prayers are there for Pat but I didn’t make it to the site. Please pass on my love.
I lost my Aunty the other week. She was a Girl Guide leader and awarded so. ( not happy with current trends). She travelled the world, was a librarian, loved twitching and was an influence to me in a way that said you can do anything, go anywhere if so you need to do something, help, change something and love life and God along the way. The only one in my family to acknowledge God. Alzheimer’s took its toll over the years and I fear it will be my end due to the family trait/burden.
Sending a lot of prayers out there to all. We are all affected in a community that cares.
I continue to lurk here down under and send out love and support to all.
Timing may be a bit out to interact but so appreciate every word that is posted here.
