In general, the states with the strongest economic engines where there are better paying jobs in comparison to others in relation to the cost of living are Right To Work states where the union bites are least effective. Freedom of movement in jobs with quality tech training and lower cost college/university entrance opportunities are winning the day in America. With the movement opportunities for workers the employers have to compete for the talent, thus raising the compensation and benefits of the whole. Those RTW states have more surplus funds and lower taxation in general. That leads to more inflow of population and less outflow as is occurring in the blue shizholes.

Years back my husband played at a local church event called Jam for the Lamb. It was held at a church with a large biker contingent, including the pastor, who always opened the event riding his Harley up the aisle to the pulpit w/ Born to Be Wild playing Loudly to be heard over the motorcycle. After the service they had multiple bands playing while there was food, games, & classic cars & motorcycles on display along the back lot.
It was a lot of fun. Now, ironically, our son-in-law’s father is the keyboardist at that church & he’s invited Michael to play bass there a couple times but so far they haven’t been able to coordinate schedules.
There’s something about a church that doesn’t take itself too seriously & does things to draw in all manner of people. Those were good times!
There is something very cool about that. Not necessarily something for everybody, but I love that it brings some of the rowdiest elements back to the Lord!
Kinda like those who Jesus worked with while on the planet in the flesh 😉

My son is much happier now. He stepped out of the position he had been put into, and is doing his old job. He loves doing it, and it is better for him.
We are currently working on his living situation. I have a space I am going to remodel into an apartment for him. It will be private, but most importantly, will not rely on roommates, landlords, or crazy bosses!

When one is an exceptional student scholarships are offered. Students take the one that offers the most. My daughter was offered many and she took the one most beneficiary to her. Would be strange if years after she got a scholarship she finds out it would be detrimental to have taken them. Same with scholarship to North Western. Who knows what name was attached to the one for North Western ? Free University plus $800 a month and books paid. She had the same as undergraduate student at St Louise University. I am not concerned from where people get their scholarships. Most students do not care.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. NEW: From FLA courthouse in Trump’s classified documents case with a prediction.Robert Hur report and testimony is the biggest elephant in the room. The term “arbitrary enforcement” used frequently by both the defense and Judge Aileen Cannon.Cannon hammered the fact no former president or vice president has been charged under Espionage Act for taking and keeping classified records including national defense information–which represents 32 counts against Trump in Jack Smith’s indictment.Prediction: Cannon won’t dismiss the case based on the motions debated today–vagueness of Espionage Act and protection under the Presidential Records Act.But it’s very likely she will dismiss the case based on selective prosecution, a motion still pending before her.
Cannon pressed both defense and Special Counsel to explain when the “crime” of willful retention of national defense information begins–she noted the date in Jack Smith’s indictment as to when Trump first violated the Espionage Act.

Jay Bratt, representing special counsel office, confirmed the “crime” began that day because as a former president, he was entitled to retain the documents.
Cannon again asked for historical precedent as to when a former president or vice president faced charges for similar conduct. Bratt of course said there is none.
She added “vice president” on numerous occasions for a reason–Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Mike Pence all skated on criminal charges. Trump is the only one who has not.
Cannon: “Arbitrary enforcement…is featuring in this case.”
Cannon also addressed the “foreseeability” as to Trump’s awareness he was committing a crime by keeping classified/national defense information.
“Given the constellation of what happened before”–meaning no criminal prosecution of former presidents including Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan and vice presidents–Cannon suggested Trump could have reasonably expected he was in the clear.
Also of interest: Jay Bratt claiming there is no official process for a president to obtain or keep a security clearance. His argument is Trump’s clearance automatically expired at the end of this term–which contradicts how former government officials maintained clearances long after their service ended.
Trump’s elimination of John Brennan’s clearance was raised.
But there is a problem. The Dept. of Energy, learning of Smith’s indictment against Trump in the summer of 2023, retroactively revoked Trump’s “Q” security clearance.
Bratt says the government has emails and a draft memo to revoke Trump’s clearance.
Cannon’s counterargument is–but if there is no formal process for authorizing or removing a president’s security clearance–why did DOE need to memorialize it post-indictment.
Bratt didn’t really have an answer.

The thing is, Defined-Benefit pension plans are, and always have been, Ponzi schemes. They should be illegal.
Defined-Contribution plans should be the only allowed type.
Defined-Contribution plans actually set aside the money as the pension is earned, like IRAs and 401K’s. They have their own problems (invested poorly or looted, they can lose value), but they are tangible.
Defined-Benefit plans promise the moon and the sky, to be paid for by some mythical people off in the far future. For government workers, that means some future taxpayer is going to be taxed up the wazoo for some current DMV employee’s pension — and there will be no tax money available then to actually run the DMV, pave the streets, keep criminals from mugging taxpayers, and put out fires.
It’s actually akin to the saw about “no Congress can bind a future Congress”.
In the private world, most of the Defined-Benefit pension plans were liquidated when old-time companies were broken-up and washed with bankruptcy.
I would argue that defined benefit CAN work – when management is honest, conservative, and fiscally savvy. But when companies with defined benefit are taken over by proggies, RINOs, techie grifters, “Siliconoids”, and other forms of corruptoids, the defined benefit pensions turn into a Ponzi scheme quickly.
It can only work if not only current management is laudable in all these areas, but also can have such virtue guaranteed until the last beneficiary collects her final check.
In other words, never.
And, BTW, the real issue is the never-ending financialization of the economy. Time was, people dug coal out of holes in the mountains, poured steel, riveted panels onto struts, and raised crops. Now, there are more financiers making more money from coal environmental reports, steel futures, insurance payouts, and bug-eating schemes than there are people actually doing the work.
Defined-Benefit plans rely on future revenues to pay current workers’ retirements. Again, a Ponzi scheme relies on future cash inflows to pay current “investors'” returns. They both work great until they don’t.
