I was under the impression that Finnish AK-47s were the best…..but good luck finding one. Chinese were very good among the ones available in volume.
The AK-47 is a fascinating piece of kit. The whole thing can essentially be built from scrap metal and junk, using improvised tools. The main body of the thing is actually made out of bent metal — years ago, some guy on YouSchmoob actually made one from the blade of a used shovel. Here’s someone building one from some East German metal, which is likely to be a little nicer.
Mind you, I would not fully assemble my shovel-blade AK-47 and blithely skip down to the gun range for test firing, because I’d have a reasonable concern that the thing might just blow-up. And, frankly, I really wouldn’t care how much a gunsmith might claim it was safe…..
….but if the alternative was to be defenseless when the revolutionaries swept through town, shot my wife and raped my daughters, I could easily see using it until I could “trade-up”.

Back in the 1960s, when he got his start, that was true.
It’s still true today, but today, hard work is just hard work, there’s no pay off.
When there is no hope to ever get ahead, no matter how hard you work, people stop trying.
People who are older, can’t understand this, in the same way that people who are older can’t understand how the value of a dollar has decreased. They understand it intellectually, you can show them graphs and charts and they understand it, but their innate understanding of the value of a dollar was formed when they were young, 30 to 50 years ago.
That’s why my Grandfather (for one example) would only pay me $5 to mow his lawn, and I had to do it. I did it for several years, until I couldn’t take it anymore. I did it out of obeying my Grandfather (who was very well off), not because it was putting enough money in my pocket to make it worth the effort.
When I was finally able to stop cutting his yard, he had to find someone else to do it. He had to pay that guy $20. His own grandson, he would only pay $5. But a stranger, he paid $20. Because the reality of the marketplace poured ice water all over his concept of the value of a dollar.
If he was alive today, and I was still cutting his yard, he would still only be paying me $5, because to him, based on his innate understanding of the value of a dollar, $5 was a LOT for cutting a yard.
Even though intellectually, he knew better, but it’s different when you’re paying, than when you’re being paid.
That same yard today costs $40 to get it cut.
I have observed, with much time and consternation, that most people can only understand their own circumstances. And if their own circumstances are safe and secure, then they act as if everyone else’s circumstances are safe and secure also, and if anyone isn’t, if those people would just do what they did, they would succeed too.
It doesn’t work like that. What you do matters, and doing the same thing in different eras produces different results. If you dig ditches, you’re never going to get ahead, no matter how hard you work, in any era.
You’re either in the right place at the right time, or you’re not. Time and chance happen to us all (see Ecclesiastes 9:11).
If you happen to be in the right place, at the right time, AND THEN you work hard, you will succeed.
But if you are not in the right place, at the right time, then no matter how hard you work, you’re going nowhere.
I have plenty of experience in that regard, things you wouldn’t believe, things that most people would never do. Like working for free for 10 months, 40 hours a week at an office and plenty more at home developing computer spreadsheets (more complicated than that, but similar) to make work at the office more efficient. Ten months, not one dollar in pay. So when people tell me the key to success is working hard, I laugh at them, because they don’t know what they’re talking about, they just know their own personal experience, which applies to them, but it didn’t apply to me. It didn’t make any difference how hard I worked. If I was still working there, they would still be paying me nothing. There is no limit to how much others will take advantage of us, if we let them. They will destroy your life if it is to their own advantage, without a second thought.
So when we get the boomer anthem, “pull yourself up by your bootstraps, I had to walk up three different hills to work three different jobs, barefoot, in the snow, for pocket change”, my response is good for you, at that time, in that place, it was enough to get by.
Try it TODAY and let me know how that goes, I want to see it. Pretend like I’m from Missouri, and show me.
The challenge is simple. Give up the degrees, give up the skills, give up the positions, and go try to start over from scratch, without connections or any other advantage over young people today, and show us how it’s done, when the cost of living has gone up 5 times, but the average pay has only gone up double, and inflation (and debasement) has cut the purchasing power of a dollar in half (or worse).
But they won’t, nobody will, nobody is going to give up what they have to start over, in order to understand why their perception of the generation(s) which came after them is wrong, because the circumstances today are radically different than when older people today were young.
So to a large extent, we’re all trapped in our own generation, the experiences we had in our formative years that shaped our understanding of the world around us, and unable to comprehend the life experience that has shaped the understanding of people in other generations.
The people in those younger generations are #*&^ing pissed off, more angry in each successive generation, and they have every reason to be.
If I was in my late teens or early 20s today, I would probably hate this country too.

Manufacturing is the primary sector that creates wealth. Most of the other sectors siphon wealth. When we ship manufacturing off to other nations we are reducing our wealth creation accordingly. It is foolish and self defeating. To counter, the Ponzi schemists play the monetary games in the markets to sell monetary investment as a wealth creator. Then there are all of the service industries that feed off it. Meanwhile, they invest into the international markets that received the benefit of the manufacturing flight from America.

FILED: Election Lawsuit Petition to the Arizona Supreme Court I have filed my election lawsuit petition to the Arizona Supreme Court. I promised that I would fight to the end for not only every Arizonan who was disenfranchised, but for the rule of law itself. I never anticipated I’d be in litigation nearly 18 months after the last election, but no just legal system can tolerate government officials abusing their power by withholding evidence.
We never got a fair trial because Katie Hobbs in her capacity as Secretary of State and Maricopa County withheld evidence prior to our trial. There are still 9,000 uncounted ballots in the 2022 election, and my legal team believes at least 1,100+ ballots should be counted. The closest race in Arizona history deserves its day in court, a margin of 280 votes out of 2.5 million with all of the discrepancies on Election Day, and what we’ve discovered since has clouded the legitimacy of Kris Mayes. We received more votes than her, she knows it, and so does nearly every Arizonan who is paying attention.
I understand the frustration many Arizonans have when they see the ‘system’ not working for justice, but rather for narrative or convenience. With the Court of Appeals giving a split decision in our appeal, I believe it is a strong indicator that our case should be heard and sent back to the trial court.
Despite being sanctioned, having bar complaints filed against me, and offered many ‘favors’ to drop my lawsuit I have never wavered in my commitment to truth and justice. I swore an oath to the Constitution as an Army officer, I thought it meant something. To see the left and some Republicans willing to discard the will of the people has been eye-opening. This process has only made me smarter, stronger, and more fearless. We are suffering under the reign of an illegitimate AG who has weaponized her office against her political opponents, it is very dangerous and will only get worse. Weakness emboldens the Marxists.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. My personal take is, Israel is either our ally or is not. They are certainly the only non-muslim government in the Middle East. They are surrounded on all sides by hostility. Answer says because it came from the old Roman Calendar brought in by Romulus, Rome’s founder and that had only ten months not 12.
Still why 10 months? The new calendar added two months to the beginning. Jan and Feb. It’s said the winter months were not important as no farming took place in the winter.
A better answer might be found by examining the 1000’s of things B G Tilak said in his “The Arctic home in the Vedas”
Tilak made exhaustive arguments on why the ancient Aryan’s once lived in the polar region near the North Pole. He address’s the Roman Calendar in particular as one of his arguments in Chapter VIII, The Cows Walk. https://archive.org/details/b24864882/page/188/mode/2up?ref=ol
The gist of the argument, is that like the Aryan’s that moved to India, others eventually moved to Greece Italy and elsewhere. At the very North on the pole, the sun takes a month to rise, followed by 4-5 months of Sun with out it setting and one month to set with the remaining time in darkness. Basically 6 months dark, six months light minus month long sunsets and sun rises. The users of this calendar were not exactly at the pole so they saw two months of total night. It’s this two months that was not part of the calendar which is his argument.
Tilak wrote his book in 1903 and basically did not get much support outside a small group of academics (British Rule and Tilak being one of India’s founders of independence/6yrs jail once and 18mos another time for being vocal about it kept his arguments squashed) , however science has been slowly catching up with him, this article an example, as it is realized the climate at the North Pole has not always been as it is today.
Tilak was also not the only one with these theories. They are also outlined in William Warren’s 1885 book “Paradise Found”, but Tilak was exhaustive in setting out his theories and used ancient Vedic and Zoroastrian texts to back up his claims.
Tilak’s theory really is the best answer, however there’s such a long lapse of time on when ancient Aryan’s had lived in the Artic according to his theory (appox 7000-8000 BC and before) Meanwhile the Roman calendar did not change to 12 months until appox 700 BC. That is large gap to explain. Were they always on the move when they left the artic regions and did no farming and had little need for knowing the cold seasons exactly? Were the clouds too impenetrable during Jan and Feb to see the sun? Don’t know but this theory should earn a place like any other. He calls it a remnant that the priests would not let go of, and finally when they did they likely had totally forgotten their ancient home when they finally settled in one place and had a need for a new calendar.
The Greeks also had what was called the Democratic or Citizens Calendar that was 10 months long existing alongside two 12 month calendrers as their earliest calendrers (lot of calendrers for such an ancient peoples). It’s claimed this was because of 10 tribes sharing the rule. The argument seems flimsy. Made some time before Tilak’s theory was published. Did they too add two months in during the cold period? Allow that the 10 tribe theory is correct, you could still argue back why ten tribes? Could this go back to 10 sets of priests that officiated the ceremonies sharing a month at a time to give homage to 10 months of Sun?
Read Chapter VIII. Better read the whole book.
Tilak was a product of his time. He was one of the revolutionaries in India who fought against the British colonial, often genocidal, oppression.
However, he accepted the idea that so-called ‘Aryans’ came from outside India, but at a very much earlier period than many scholars believed during his time.
What he contributed to the debate, however, was how the Indian (originally known as Bharata) civilization, which had an extremely sophisticated luni-solar astronomical (nakshatra) system, could be used to date many of their stories (often denigrated as myth), over a huge span of time (in the order of 10s of millennia).
These stories (known to us as the Vedas, Itihasa, Puranas) were orally transmitted through a very stable, sophisticated language called Sanskrit. The features in the grammar of this language could be used as an error correction mechanism (similar to Checksum of modern computers) to ensure that each sound was correctly transmitted to the next generation. Such a system is actually a far more reliable transmittier of any text then even a written one, since the text could be recreated.
The word ‘Aryan’ (as a race, as it is/was interpreted) does not appear in any of what is known as the ‘Indian Knowledge System’ (IKS), only the word “arya”, which means noble, but not used as a title.
This word was coined by Max Mueller an European Indologist who translated much of this text. Unfortunately, he, like many Europeans, lacked knowledge of much of the Indian cultural traditions, which can be traced backed to the Vedic period and if known would have given much context to the translation. This is especially important, since Sanskrit is not an (named) object-based language, but an attribute-based language where the attribute is used to describe the object (an object can also have many names).
Furthermore, there is no description of anyone arriving from outside the Indian subcontinent and settling there, in any of its Vedic text. This is in contrast to the Avesta, which has these kinds of stories. The Avesta does however have much of the same text as the earlier parts of the Rigveda, the earliest of all the Vedas.
The Vedas also describe much of the geographical features like rivers as they appear in India today or as they would have appeared many thousands of years ago, according to geological evidence eg. Saraswati river, which does not exist today, but was a grander river then Ganga and Indus today and may have been as grand as the Amazonas, since it had a width of more than 20km’s at some places at its peak.

Max Mueller sent Tilak a copy of his Rig Veda while Tilak was in jail so he could comment on it. The two often communicated and it was what got Tilak started on finishing the work he started with “The Orion” years earlier, by which Mueller came to know of him.
Tilak’s father was a grammarian of Sanskrit, as was he to some extent, along with being a mathematician, lawyer and newspaper owner.

I read “Artic Home of the Vedas” from the online version and later noticed it is missing 200 pages. So am in the process of reading the hard cover book. See’s this next chapter not begun yet, speaks of the waters and you may find his view surprising. Indeed Tilak trained hard to style himself in the western sciences and was in communication with many.

From the out line (he outlines each chapter before beginning them) you will see he is sometimes at odds with various contemporary Hindu schools of thought, which includes the meanings of the rivers talked about in the Vedas like the Saraswati. This would be one reason why Tilak’s theories are not as wide spread as they should be even in India but by far not the largest reason. The largest opposition comes from the Crown of England and the East India Tea Company along with the then and still now people in academia who’s fame and careers would be upended by his theories which are being proven more and more correct.
There is also the matter of Hitler adopting onto the Aryan view and how much bad press that galvanized which made it so much easier to ignore Tilak’s theories.
Learning about the Vedas is easily a life long task. It’s said that the books are coded so that each section has four layers of meaning. One dealing with the body and mind, one dealing with earthly events, one dealing with heavenly events and one that only Rische’s will come to know.
It was in the 9th Century that all Vedic texts were gathered to settle questions on Shaivism. Sanyana, priest and brother to one the men opposed to the then King who had adopted Shaivism was said to be ritualist and Shaivism demanded more openness from the Brahmin class that wanted the knowledge of Vedas to come through them. It’s Sanyana’s translations that people know today but by that time much of meaning of the texts was lost even to him. In fact he relied heavily upon the 7th BC grammarian Yaksa and he too had troubles translating meanings in the texts because they were that old. Of note neither of these two were aware of conditions at the Artic that might have helped them. Of another note, there were at least 7 other grammarians listed that came before Yaksa, and Yaksa was likely aware of what some of them knew… but again.. too much time from the start of these ancient books to their then present and such knowledge has stayed obscured until Tilak comes along and starts to do the math on all this stuff.

My Mom got mammograms. After one, she told me that the lady performing the test said something was not working correctly and left the room for about 15 minutes. She left Mom hooked up to the machine. A year or two later, Mom developed breast cancer. She had a lumpectomy and did get better. Mom died years later of lung cancer. She also was a life-long smoker, so of course the mammogram was ignored and the smoking blamed. Maybe that is correct, but maybe the mammogram did not help.
I don’t go to doctors unless there is some problem I can’t handle myself. My grandmothers did not do mammograms, and one lived to 85 and the other to a week before her 95th birthday.
I did some research on all of it years ago. The inventor of the mammogram was appalled at how it was used. The excess radiation is just bad.
The bra wearing limit has multiple studies to support it. Four were done by medical people, and one that was much larger was anthropological. All came to virtually the same conclusion:
Wearing a bra all the time, 3 in 4 chances
More than 12 hours, 1 in 7 or 8 chances
Less than 12 hours, 1 in 125 chances
Never wearing one, same incidence as in men.
The issue appears to be cutting off the flow of lymph. It takes 12 hours for lymph to completely clear the body. This is why the garment industry is severe on wearing the right size. If women actually knew the truth, there would be hell to pay.
Serious question. What about the women who have WGTTs who find daily life difficult without wearing a bra?

Medically, I’m not sure. Plenty of men have commented though. For those of us with dense tissue, it’s less of an issue.
my mother got a mammogram and the doctor told her she had “areas of concern”, so mom had to have an ultra sound –but not before she worried and worried about cancer. after the ultra sound, they told her she had dense breast tissue. she was relieved, but she worried for weeks.
then after 2 years, she had her mammogram and they found areas of concern. and she went thru everything all over. the same thing happened every time she had a mammogram. finally, after YEARS of this, she switched obgyns…a lady this time. after reviewing Mom’s chart, she told Mom they were going to implant markers under her skin where these areas were to avoid the unnecessary worrying Mom did.
I went through a similar years of scare with mammograms and ultrasounds. I finally quit having mammograms.
Same with DW. She had three. On the second they said cancer come in and we’ll check again. Checked and she was cleared and won’t do another ever again. That was back in the early 90’s. The docs keep trying to get her to take another but we just say sure and never schedule. Nothing they can do about it but brow beat us, and we brow beat them back with a happy smile and promise we have no intention of keeping.

OMG — Slide #50 of Ms. McAfee’s presentation clinches what Yours Truly posted upthread today in the mammogram discussion, regarding how the S2 sub-unit protein in the modRNA COVID-19 “vaccines” (Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna) target and interacts with (interferes with) the p53 cancer tumor suppressor protein that is present in the human body.
Slide #50 also indicates the REAL reason why, IMO, Pfizer-BioNTech chose BNT162b2 as the company’s modRNA COVID-19 “vaccine candidate” to present to the FDA in the fall of 2020 to get the agency’s original EUA for use in the United States.
Pfizer-BioNTech actually had THREE modRNA COVID-19 “vaccines candidates” in trials in 2020 — BNt162b1; BNT162b2; and BNT162b3. BNT162b2 was the ONLY one that used the S2 sub-unit protein from the original Wuhan Hu1 COVID-19 virus.

Congressional Democrats insist that the SAVE Act—which requires proof of citizenship to establish eligibility to vote in federal elections—is unnecessary because federal law (18 USC § 611) already prohibits non-citizens from voting in federal elections.
Those making this argument ignore a glaring problem: the government officials who register voters and conduct federal elections aren’t allowed to require proof of citizenship.
It’s therefore shockingly easy for non-citizens to vote in federal elections, leaving our elections dangerously vulnerable to foreign interference.
Anyone—even an illegal alien or other non-citizen—can register to vote in federal elections, just by checking a box and signing a form.
This is all on the honor system. No proof of citizenship is required.
It’s not just that state officials—who are responsible for federal voter registration and elections in our country—*don’t* verify citizenship in this context; it’s that the Supreme Court has told them that they’re not allowed to do so.
In Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, 570 U.S. 1 (2013), the Court held that the National Voter Registration Act (“NVRA,” known as the “Motor Voter” law) prohibits states from requiring proof of citizenship when processing federal voter-registration forms.
The SAVE Act would fix this gaping loophole by requiring anyone registering to vote in federal elections to provide proof of citizenship.
It would also require states to review existing federal voter-registration files and remove all non-citizens.
Remember: every state except South Carolina issues driver’s licenses to non-citizens, and 19 states issue them to illegal aliens.
This, coupled with the Motor Voter law and the Supreme Court’s ruling, makes it shockingly easy for aliens—legal and illegal—to vote in federal elections, even though they’re prohibited from doing so.
Considering that there are now nearly 30 million non-citizens in the U.S., including about 12 million who have entered illegally since the last presidential election, we desperately need the SAVE Act.
While Democrats are already mocking the SAVE Act, they don’t dispute that non-citizens shouldn’t vote in federal elections.
Rather, they insist that there’s no need for the bill because non-citizens—being prohibited by law from voting in federal elections—categorically *do not* vote in such elections.
That argument fails for one simple reason: it implausibly assumes universal compliance with a law that has become breathtakingly easy (and correspondingly tempting) to violate.
Some say that non-citizens wouldn’t dare register to vote in federal elections, as doing so is illegal and could adversely affect their present or future immigration status.
Even if this assumption were correct with regard to many (or even most) non-citizens in the U.S., that still wouldn’t disprove the need for the SAVE Act.
If even a tiny percentage of America’s 30 million non-citizens were to vote, they could change the outcome of a close federal election. And, as noted by the

This morning it was reported that the Russian army, coming from the north, had broken through Ukraine defenses in the Kharkov region.
This evening reports indicate that the Russian Aerospace Forces delivered over 20 FAB guided bombs to the Volchansk district in the Kharkov region in just one hour this evening.
The Russians took control of a big sum of Ukraine property in the last 24 hours. The importance of winning the Kharkov region is not because of military strategy but that it increases the “neutral territory” that Russia is taking and are not going to give back.

They are claiming the possibility of seeing Northern Lights in the Detroit area. I may have seen them in the Detroit area for that 2003 event, I know there was a night when I was up letting the dog out around 4 am & saw amazing green undulating curtains of Northern Lights, which I’d Never Seen in the Detroit area before. I got each of my kids up in turn & carried them down to show the lights though each one mostly just slept. I also called my parents to tell them to look as it was gorgeous & unprecedented!
