Just a friendly reminder Speaker Johnson. You’re doing some good things–or at least trying in the case of the budget–but this is the most important thing out there still hanging. One initial block released with the promise of more…and?
We have American patriots being held without bail and without trial, and the tapes almost certainly contain exculpatory evidence. (And if they don’t, and we’re all just yelling in an echo chamber over here, we need to know that too. And there’s only one way to know.)
Either we have a weaponized, corrupt government or we have a lot of internet charlatans. Let’s expose whatever it is. (I’m betting it’s the corrupt weaponized government, but if I am wrong, I’d like to see proof.)
Justice Must Be Done.
The prior election must be acknowledged as fraudulent, and steps must be taken to prosecute the fraudsters and restore integrity to the system.
Nothing else matters at this point. Talking about trying again in 2022 or 2024 is hopeless otherwise. Which is not to say one must never talk about this, but rather that one must account for this in ones planning; if fixing the fraud is not part of the plan, you have no plan.
Small Government?
Many times conservatives (real and fake) speak of “small government” being the goal.
This sounds good, and mostly is good, but it misses the essential point. The important thing here isn’t the size, but rather the purpose, of government. We could have a cheap, small tyranny. After all our government spends most of its revenue on payments to individuals and foreign aid, neither of which is part of the tyrannical apparatus trying to keep us locked down and censored. What parts of the government would be necessary for a tyranny? It’d be a lot smaller than what we have now. We could shrink the government and nevertheless find it more tyrannical than it is today.
No, what we want is a limited government, limited not in size, but rather in scope. Limited, that is, in what it’s allowed to do. Under current circumstances, such a government would also be much smaller, but that’s a side effect. If we were in a World War II sort of war, an existential fight against nasty dictatorships on the brink of world conquest, that would be very expensive and would require a gargantuan government, but that would be what the government should be doing. That would be a large, but still limited government, since it’d be working to protect our rights.
World War II would have been the wrong time to squawk about “small government,” but it wasn’t (and never is) a bad time to demand limited government. Today would be a better time to ask for a small government–at least the job it should be doing is small today–but it misses the essential point; we want government to not do certain things. Many of those things we don’t want it doing are expensive but many of them are quite eminently doable by a smaller government than the one we have today. Small, but still exceeding proper limits.
So be careful what you ask for. You might get it and find you asked for the wrong thing.
Political Science In Summation
It’s really just a matter of people who can’t be happy unless they control others…versus those who want to be left alone. The oldest conflict within mankind. Government is necessary, but government attracts the assholes (a highly technical term for the control freaks).
His Truth?
Again we saw an instance of “It might be true for Billy, but it’s not true for Bob” logic this week.
I hear this often, and it’s usually harmless. As when it’s describing differing circumstances, not different facts. “Housing is unaffordable” can be true for one person, but not for another who makes ten times as much.
But sometimes the speaker means it literally. Something like 2+2=4 is asserted to be true for Billy but not for Bob. (And when it’s literal, it’s usually Bob saying it.) And in that sense, it’s nonsense, dangerous nonsense. There is ONE reality, and it exists independent of our desires and our perceptions. It would go on existing if we weren’t here. We exist in it. It does not exist in our heads. It’s not a personal construct, and it isn’t a social construct. If there were no society, reality would continue to be what it is, it wouldn’t vanish…which it would have to do, if it were a social construct.
Now what can change from person to person is the perception of reality. We see that all the time. And people will, of course, act on those perceptions. They will vote for Trump (or try to) if their perception is close to mine, and vote against Trump (and certainly succeed at doing so) if their perception is distant from mine (and therefore, if I do say so, wrong). I have heard people say “perception is reality” and usually, that’s what they’re trying to say–your perception of reality is, as far as you know, an accurate representation of reality, or you’d change it.
But I really wish they’d say it differently. And sometimes, to get back to Billy and Bob, the person who says they have different truths is really saying they have different perceptions of reality–different worldviews. I can’t argue with the latter. But I sure wish they’d say it better. That way I’d know that someone who blabbers about two different truths is delusional and not worth my time, at least not until he passes kindergarten-level metaphysics on his umpteenth attempt.

I wasn’t doing the math, just going by appearance, posture, etc. He seems to be in remarkable physical and mental health at age 97, consistent with what might be expected of someone as much as 25 years younger.
As for actual age, I have read many times that kids under age 18 volunteered for military service, apparently in some cases as young as 14 or 15 if I remember correctly, and the military obviously didn’t check ages their too closely.
Back then, it was very difficult to verify ages because birth certificates were not readily available and the country was at war. No incentive to check plus a lot of those who enlisted were farm boys.
They were buffed out just by living their lives and generally looked older than their actual ages.
Many young men LIED about their age and joined the military at ages, 14, 15, 16 & 17. Heck we had a friend who was a Russian Jew, NOT a citizen, who swapped identities with another NYC Jew so he could join the military.

Does look like marble. It’s the same in the bathrooms. Is vinyl plank flooring the standard for that area? Due to the weather? I notice that in Florida most houses have ceramic tiles throughout. In the East it’s hardwood.
It was a flip. Vinyl plank flooring is cheap crud — there is a crawlspace under the floor and no chance of flooding from underneath, so there should probably be hardwood flooring (as was original in the house when it was built in 1955). We replaced the living room/dining room area with 3/4″ red oak (it had been 3/8″ worn down a few decades) in our house.
That said, we used high-grade sheet linoleum in the kitchen when we remodeled it. You’re going to want to be able to mop a kitchen floor regularly.
The vinyl plank is cheap crud. Looks out of place with the other high end finishes and the price tag.
The other finishes are not that much high end. They’ll probably get their ask — another house around the corner just went for $2.45M.

Last night was stuffed peppers — 20 minutes ‘steamed’ @ 350 in the oven, by placing cleaned pepper halves +1/8 cup H2O in a Pyrex baking dish and cover with foil.

Stuff with a mix of cooked homemade (salt free) sausage & cream cheese, add Lions mane mushroom powder to Hubby’s, top with shredded cheddar cheese. Cover with foil.
Pop bake in the oven for 20 minutes

As an aside, the master bedroom had ugly ragged decades-old wall-to-wall carpeting. I think they lived in there while they prettied-up the rest of the house.
As a complete aside, I redid the flooring in our hallway with high-end laminate. Thick, plank-ish stuff. It’s really the best choice for the main hallway in theory, being attractive and durable…………….
…………until you try to install it. Laminate is beautiful and easy to install in something like a basketball court, but it costs in time and money for each doorway. Our hallway had something like nine doorways (rooms, closets, and flooring changes) and it was horrible to do so many in order to gain the benefit right down the middle. I don’t know the “right answer”, but that freakin’ hallway nearly killed me.

When I was looking for a place in Missouri, I ran across a lovely place. I just love the paint they chose so I saved a few photos. Perhaps someday I’ll need to pick paint colors. I think the bottom shade is purple.
I like the wedgewood blue (upper light blue) That is the color I have in my kitchen. I have stenciled a design around the ceiling in white.

I HATE wallpaper so my bathrooms and some of my other rooms have paint & effects. In one room I used a thin wash of white rollered in a random design over a dark dark purple and then the same color purple was used to stencil roses over the entire wall once the white paint dried.
In another room I used tans and a sea sponge to give the wall a leather like look.

When I lived in Pflugerville, TX, I rented a nice home. The master bedroom had a hand-painted design across a wall that looked like torn parchment. It looked very neat and I guessed an artist had done it.
You can really have fun using blank walls as a ‘canvas’ With stencils you do not have be a good artist either.
for example one bathroom is blue with white ‘clouds’ sponged over the blue. On the edge of each wall is bindweed aka morning glories in different colors climbing up the wall. Along the baseboard and counter are pansies and flying all over the walls are a variety of butterflies.

We went with a Dacor shelf unit because you can take the shelves off and run them through the dishwasher. Having shelves over a cooktop is a great grease trap.
Good tip.
To be more specific, we went with a 36″ Thermador cooktop under a 42″ Thermador hood (helpful hint — if your hood is BIGGER than your cooktop, very little escapes). The cabinets to the right and left of the hood are 15″ deep instead of the standard 12″ — which can be done because of the spacing.
Our backsplash is made of a single piece of stainless steel 1/8″ thick. [N.B. This is huge — people use 1/8″ steel to cover trenches in roadways so cars can drive over them. I didn’t realize this before I bought it.] It sits on the granite countertop, and tucks behind the cabinets and the Corian backsplash in a spot where we made the wallboard thinner to make room.
We finished the stainless ourselves out on the driveway. I initially used orbital 1/4-sheet palm sanders with medium sandpaper to give an anonymous cloudy finish, then drew vertical guide lines with a marker, then put random “cut-over” guide lines on top of those. The effect was meant to echo the glass we were using in the cabinets, which was sort of a tree-bark pattern. We then traced over the guide lines with a wire-brush wheel in a drill. After cleaning, we slathered it with Naval Jelly to passivate the stainless — then cleaned it again. I think it came out great, but if anyone wants to start over they can just use palm sanders on it again — with the thickness of the stainless, it’d easily take about 30-40 reworks before you’d have to concern yourself with wear.
The refrigerator cabinet to the left and the oven cabinet to the right are just slightly deeper than standard, so that the countertop in between ends cleanly into their sides instead of having a lip sticking out. The cabinet makers caught that one, and it is a mark of their expertise.
I finished watching the Dr. Phil interview with President Trump. It was very good. After thinking about it, I’ve decided it was a negotiation to let all those leftists, RINOs, pedophiles, and corruptocrats who have committed crimes up to and including murder and treason have time to regroup. Recently, a woman I know who is in her 70s said out of the blue that a lot of her friends are getting cancer now. She specifically mentioned one who has been diagnosed with it for the third time. I don’t know their vax status, but my friend is vaxed and I think it highly likely that her friends are too.
Sadly, investing in the funeral business is worth it.
Good spot for this. Neighbor friend came by the house yesterday. 58 years old. I have brought her up on here before. Has to be jabbed as she is a sales rep of air filtration units into the medical industry, colleges, etc. Hospitals require jab evidence for entry into the areas she supplies. Needs her job for family income and insurance as her husband is medically disabled.
Got Bell’s Palsy after the second jab. Recovered over a 6 month period. Joints started developing pain and stiffness. One hip deteriorated to the point she has replacement surgery scheduled in less than two weeks. She goes for a routine breast exam this past week. They find 4 small tumors after tests and biopsies – malignant. No family history of same.
They tell her to go ahead with the hip surgery and have breast surgery scheduled for January.
Anybody want to take bets she makes it to January without surgery, if she makes it? If she passes away anytime soon it will go down as a cancer related death and nothing said about the jabs at all.

Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.
Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.
Give me a good night’s sleep I pray, knowing that there is no condemnation because I am in Christ, and may I wake up in the morning refreshed and ready to do Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray,

I have been thinking for several months now that it looks like TCTB are setting things up for an economic disaster right after the election.
If the criminals win, they can (and will) use the disaster as a crisis which cannot be allowed to go to waste, and implement all sorts of totalitarian B.S.
And if the criminals somehow lose the hilariously rigged election, they will have sabotaged the incoming president (DJT) with an economic crisis so vast that he will be forced to focus on that, instead of going after Hussein & The Criminals.
So either way, it looks like they’ll just cook the books until the election, hiding the economic disaster (i.e., the official recognition of the disaster that has already begun) with bogus data, until the election is over.
No chance that the Trump Team doesn’t have this, along with several scenarios to deal with it. And we won’t know any of them until TSHF.
