On the morning of March 13, 1881, Alexander II was travelling through the streets of Saint Petersburg in an open carriage, escorted by a small escort of soldiers and police. At 3:30 that day, the Tsar passed away and his personal flag was lowered for the last time. The following month his son Alexander III ascended the Russian throne.
Aftermath
The assassination of Tsar Alexander II was a turning point in Russian and European history. It marked the beginning of a period of increased repression and censorship in Russia and served as a symbol of the growing tensions between traditional monarchies and the emerging socialist movement. I tried to go around her but she refused to budge either way. Finally i came out and asked if she would move so I could get to (pointing) that product. She said no I can’t move. I need to get in here (she pointed to the locked glass cabinet that has the condoms in it.) She said, I asked a clerk to come with a key and it’s been almost 10 minutes. I’m not moving!

People here love to gripe about using self-checkout.
Walmarts here are requiring anyone with more than 15 items to use regular checkout.
Well, at least now that you’re required under Colorado law to pay for bags, I don’t have to fight with the checker about how to bag my items (give them their head and they’ll put each item in its own bag).
But that doesn’t solve the problem of regular checkout lines invariably being populated by a) people whose cards don’t work and it takes them ten minutes to figure out why and pay or b) people who are using an EBT (modern food stamps) and have to take half the items off to get down to their limit…also taking 10 minutes.
I’ve reached the point where if I have more than 15 items, I am better off just buying 15 at a time, even if that means multiple trips to and from my car into the store.
I refuse to use the self checkout because it is the next step to Commie Social Credit score land.
I use CASH and a PERSON. I can argue with a person. 😉

i have a question. I do not use my phone for anything other than a phone, so I am ignorant on these things. But in the corner is one of those scan code things and it says scan to request a mail in ballot. is that in any way tied to my name or address? or just a generic scan thing that will connect the person to an election site?
Depending on the URL that is used by the QR code, your information could pass through an infinite number of snoopy proxies before it gets to the Pennsylvania folks who provide absentee ballots.
Some phone cameras will show you the URL that a QR code goes to. If it’s anything other than an official PA URL, I would not trust it fully. If it’s the GOP candidate’s URL, that candidate might get some info about you – but they could share that info with anybody, like WinRed, or national GOP. But they could also share that info with Google, Facebook, and many other people who put trackers and beacons into web pages
Sadly, even government pages can share stuff with undesirable entities like Google.

I don’t trust any of those codes. I get credit card offers with those on them, and I wonder whether, if someone else got hold of the code, it could cause problems for me through identity theft or the like. When did we start trusting things that we can’t read and that could have hidden codes and ways to both get and disseminate our data?
Some people (not me) have financial data on their phones. I can’t imagine scanning something into my phone when I have no idea what is in that scan. It would not surprise me if we hear of this being exploited in the future.

If the URL encoded in the QR code was customized for you, either through the URL itself, or the parameters following the question mark (?), then YES – that QR code can be connected to you. That’s just like those long URLs that people post here from their emails – they include information (often encrypted, but still there) about who the URL was sent to. When the info is in the parameters, it’s best to strip it off before reposting the URL in any way.

They could include a link to this comment, or to some malware distributor — you can’t know until it is decoded.
With Linux, it’s reasonably easy to decode the QR code without executing it (seeing the URL, for instance). I wouldn’t try it with a cellphone.
Many types of QR code would have a “serial number” embedded in the text to know which recipient had responded. Following such a link would not provide additional information to the sender, but they’d have the information they started with.
For an example, if they knew you were “Pat F; 123 Elm Street; Anytown, PA” and assigned the “serial number” 23456, then clicking the QR code that hits “http://respond.com/QR/?=23456” would bring up the information they already knew.
