Well, I can validate that theory in my little corner of CA. Coldest summer ever in the 6 years I’ve lived here. We haven’t exceeded 68 degrees the ENTIRE summer, and 54 to 58 degrees every morning. My vegetable garden is saying: hell no, too cold to grow. Please send us some heat!
Boomer, just as an aside, most vegetables which we associate with Summer, certain squash, tomatoes, corn etc., rely on what is called accumulated heat units.
These veggies rely on the heat generated during daylight hours to accumulate in the soil over the Season.
But when daylight hours do not generate sufficient heat to “hold” overnight, accumulated heat units do not, well, accumulate (this warmth is a root system requirement).
We up here in the PNW have a lot of trouble bc of this truism…our Summers are relatively cool.
Only when we have a more “normal” Summer do we have any real success with these vegetables.
Growing such food in black containers is a help, for obvious reasons.
But, over time, a Global cooling trend will most definitely see this played out on a grand scale.
I’ve seen a video of someone in eastern (?) europe that used well placed rocks to absorb more solar radiation during the day which keeps the temps up longer after the sun is off the extensive gardens. I think he also used ponds for thermal retention.
TTT, the best method I’ve seen – tomatoes are Real Iffy up here – for getting heat to the roots of plants is this:
At least 24″ sheet metal cut so it’s length will encircle a plant, say 4 inches from a main stem.
Mask off 1/2 of the length, and spray-paint the other1/2 w/black pint. Rivet into a circle.
Push the unpainted 1/2 into the soil, and plant your whatever in the middle of the middle of the circle., w/the black 1/2 up, available to absorb the sun all day.
then the sun’s heat is slowly transferred to the soil.
works like a charm…I’ve done control groups: sheet metal really makes a big difference!

If Ruddiman’s “Early Anthropogenic Hypothesis” is correct, the ONLY thing keeping us out of the next ice age is Carbon Dioxide. The Industrial Age along with the the recent grand solar maximum, may very well have occurred at exactly the most opportune time for H. sapiens, at the end of the present interglacial.
Also we are not out of the woods by a long shot. The Milankovitch Cycle low point will continue for 65 thousand years according to Lisiecki and Raymo. Yet these idiots in DC want to strip the earth of the CO2 security blanket that might be keeping us out of the next ice age. And to add insult to injury you can add the other papers showing C3 plants (99% of the plant species) were undergoing CO2 starvation when the earth was in the last glaciation.

There are lots of examples. Detroit is a major environmental disaster. Huge swaths of Chicago are a giant mess. Have you ever heard of a town called “Philadelphia”? What about those massive wild fires in California – was that really good for the environment?
Remember S.C. of the Justice Democrats (sounds like some kind of comic spoof of the “Justice League”) said the purpose of the Green New Deal wasn’t to help the environment, but to help implement socialism?
Socialism wherever is has been implemented results in MASSIVE environmental damage. Venezuelan oil fields are now an environmental damage. When there is widespread poverty, there are no resources to maintain, clean, or take reasonable precautionary measures to protect the local environment. The Soviets had the worst environmental track record of any nation – they cared NOTHING about the environment, it existed only as RESOURCES to build the Soviet state! The most toxic and polluted parts of the world – like Bangladesh – are always correlated with the highest poverty. The “ramp up” phase of industrialization can amplify some pollution but it is the wealth that is generated, when in a free economy, gives people and a society the resources to clean up.

OK so I wanted to give you guys a better picture of what happened to me. I wasn’t feeling well. Chest pains, arm tingling. I went to the ED. It was getting worse. They gave me nitroglycerin. I felt naseous and wanted to faint. Next thing I know, I am surrounded by 9 people. My chest felt like someone hit me with a club. This nurse yelled at me and told me my heart stopped. They used compression to revive me. I felt cold and disconnected from life. I saw some other nurses crying while they were looking at me.
I didn’t know what happened. The cardiologist told me they thought they lost me. I was confused and unable to move. I didn’t think I was in this world. I was kind of looking on as a bystander. All I knew was that everyone was very emotional talking to me.
They waited until I was completely with it again. Then took me for an angiogram. The angiogram showed my heart was healthy but I have a slow heartbeart. The nitroglycerin crashed me and stopped my heart. I essentially died and came back. I guess it wasn’t my time.
I recovered rapidly. They sent me home. I am better now. I can think clearly. Thankfully they didn’t fracture my sternum but I ache. So I have bradycardia. The wonderful people at the hospital had no idea that the nitro could have killed me. I love them for their care and concern.
Anyways, I guess this reminds me that life is precious and can go at any moment. I won’t ever forget what I felt.
So God bless you all. If I have offended you in any way, please accept my apologies. Only now do I fully realize how close I was. I hope none of you go through this. Stay close to your friends and family. Don’t ever, ever give up.

Hospital error, adverse drug reaction, drug interaction, equipment malfunction and miscommunication are very real dangers in the hospitals and clinics. Patient non-compliance is also a problem.
Your job is to be self-advocating, have someone to oversee your care when you are incapacitated and to learn all you can about your conditions, medicines (contraindications, side effects, interactions with other drugs, foods, etc).
You also need to know who is treating you, their qualifications, training, philosophy, concern for patients, whether they have had discipline from the boards, everything you possibly can.

Has anyone been following Thomas Wictor’s ideas about the Red Flag laws? I think @drawandstrike Brian Cates has been sharing.
Both are FOR the Red Flag Laws. Both are not pro-Q.
It occurred to me that Wictor is problematic. Think about this: his story is all about his mental and emotional problems and the huge amounts of meds he’s on to maintain normalcy.
He had scores of wonderful stories about his life as a music writer, and sure can interpret an Antifa rally for us, showing us all the undercover agents gathering evidence, etc. I particular enjoyed his videos where he shows us all the stealth weapons out there.
So, remember when he got kicked off Twitter for those tweets about Alyssa Milano during the Kavanaugh hearings? I think she called the cops on him and they showed up at his door?
He went into GREAT detail about how open and cooperative he was when they came knocking, and how he even showed them the meds he was on? Anyway, the cops were very impressed with him. They were best friends when they left him, intact with his guns and his freedom.
He was able to use all his stories and that particular incident to support the Red Flag law that the Left is touting.
Nobody is fonna have their funs taken from them, even people on heavy meds for their mental problems.

Yes, I have mixed feelings about Wictor, just like I have mixed feelings about Red Flag laws.
Here is my thinking about Red Flag laws. I want them to be rigorously Constitutional – and there IS a way to make that happen:
VOLUNTARY ARREST
I believe that the “accused” person MUST be offered the opportunity to BE ARRESTED and have their FULL RIGHTS given to them – NOT signed away. This means that the guns are NOT confiscated. THE GUNS STAY and THE PERSON IS DETAINED.
This also gives the POLICE access to all their normal tools, including a JUDGE. And because the person is detained, nobody has to worry about violence, until the police and courts make a decision.
This way the accused can follow the teachings of Martin Luther King, Jr – and NON-VIOLENTLY PROTEST by letting themselves be arrested, BUT (and this is very important) they NEVER give up their rights.
If we don’t have an ARREST OPTION, the only way to follow King is to refuse to comply, which just escalates the situation prior to arrest.
A PEACEFUL, VOLUNTARY ARREST OPTION is the BEST answer for gun owners AND police.
At the point of voluntary arrest, the accused have all their normal RIGHTS that come with arrest, and the police have access to all their normal tools, including COURTS. AND the accused have access to LAWYERS.
So what I’m saying is that to make these laws Constitutional, WE have to allow a fully Constitutional option UNLESS the person SIGNS AWAY those rights.
This is a Solomon-style test. In the case of a false accusation, an honest citizen can choose ARREST and all the rights that come with it – including SUING WHOEVER THEY CAN when it’s all over, or being compensated in some way. And their GUNS are never taken, until a JUDGE decides LEGALLY that they can be taken.
VOLUNTARY ARREST OPTION
We need it. We have to be BRAVE and accept ARREST over CONFISCATION.
So on the Red Flag laws, I have a single question. Will they apply to Democrats?
If they’re constructed right, they will, in fact, mostly be used on Democrats. “Yahoos”, “embarrassing gun owners”, “you’re kidding – that person was allowed to buy a gun?” – these are mostly DEMS. Weak minds that go along with virtue signals, easily influenced by mass media – they tend to be DEMS. So they will apply ESPECIALLY to Democrats, if DONE RIGHT.
I have a lot of trepidation about Red Flag Laws. If you’ve ever watched Judge Judy on TV, you’d have seen several cases in which former friends, neighbors or relatives filed protective orders against someone they had issues with. Most of them were based on lies and hearsay, something civil court judges tend to allow in their hearings. Judge Judy gets very angry when she uncovers those bogus abuses of the legal system and always scolds the offending party.
These Red Flag Laws will be adjudicated in civil courts, not criminal. So the unlucky recipient of a gun confiscation order will be forced to plead his case to a judge who has a lot of latitude he wouldn’t have in a criminal case. And if that judge is a liberal, he is likely going to approve of virtually every confiscation that comes before him.
Imagine some of your neighbors ganging up against you simply for putting up Trump 2020 signs in your front yard. If they know you have guns in your house, they can make up all kinds of stories to sway a sympathetic judge to abrogate your 2nd Amendment Rights. And good luck appealing a judge’s decision. It’ll cost thousands of dollars with no guarantee of reversal, which is rare.
I understand the the desire to “do something” to help prevent future mass murders but I don’t think Red Flag Laws are the best way to do it. There is simply too much potential for abuse.
In that case, I want to make sure that my Voluntary Conversion To An Arrest Option sends the person to CRIMINAL court. In any case, it needs to go to a judge who is capable of ordering mental evaluations immediately, same as any defendant, or dismissing, or continuing to a hearing of some kind.
The point is this, most of all. Anybody who goes to jail to NOT give up their guns is going to prove very quickly that they deserve to keep them.
Nothing that has this much potential for abuse needs to be done in the heat of the moment. The Left needs to sit down and show a little respect for these victims. The Right needs to stand firm. After the dead have been buried and the families have had a little time, then CALMLY take up the issue. Emotions are too high, and there is too much risk in making life altering decisions in that state of mind. Of course, that is the goal of the left, try to gain as much ground as they can while emotions are raw and people are fearful.
I still think PDJT has something in mind. He will not let us down and neither will God.
Pray for the safety of POTUS and FLOTUS as they head to Texas….the presence of all those little black masked demons in and around El Paso is cause for concern

We need to slow it down. At that point, i have THREE DEMANDS. If ALL THREE are not met, then I’m off the train completely.
(1) laws must be rigorously Constitutional
(2) laws must meet complete approval by the NRA (GOA opposes everything – that’s their job)
(3) must have an ARREST WITHOUT CONFISCATION OPTION.
Confiscation tends to be irreversible. ARREST is not only reversible, and has ZERO confiscation, and COMPLETELY ENDS the (fake) emergency – it has loads of options to defend, that Red Flag Laws as currently formulated DO NOT.
If accusers know that a SANE, UNAMUSED VICTIM of being swatted with one of these laws can CONVERT TO AN ARREST WITHOUT CONFISCATION – where they can begin fighting immediately, and LAWYERS DESCEND – and I repeat there is NO confiscation – well, such accusers will think twice about it.
My feeling is that our greatest weapons in fighting these laws are (1) the Constitution, and (2) the NRA. So what we say is that the laws MUST pass muster with the NRA, and they have to be doubly constitutional – (1) by confiscation, and (2) by arrest. The latter is actually easier, and gives us ALL the rights we have now.
I will ponder this.
My huge concern now is the two bills waiting in Congress. The UniParty is at work. If they manage to get the bills through Congress there will be IMMENSE pressure on POTUS to both sign (UniParty) and veto (Trump base).
That’s why WE, the BASE, have to do the thinking. What is acceptable to us? We have to speak our minds NOW!
I am sure that there are people in the administration who look here to see what we think. They have to know that we DO NOT LIKE CONFISCATION, and that the left will use it against Trump in 2020 if he signs it. On the other hand, it sure would be nice to stop crazies with guns, and end all the commie propaganda.

*MY* first big specific demand is a non-confiscation option. I would go to jail to protect my right to keep and bear arms. And THAT needs to be built into this LAW on a micro level, just like if it was a big old revolution.
SAME PRINCIPLE. I want to go to jail before I give up my gun. And I’d like to do it peacefully, because I’m a peaceable sort!

– Still has his Rights? Doesn’t look that way to me. He’s locked up. Bail?

– Who pays the bills when someone is locked up based on accusations? Rent, car payments, mortgage, utilities….

I agree. It sucks. What I’m doing is giving us (real, non-crazy gun owners) the option to use existing Due Process and make both sides happy.
This is why CONVERSION TO AN ARREST forces the issues to become immediate.
Anybody sane enough to say “I want to retain my rights and my guns – arrest me” is very likely NOT a real danger. But what happens is that the case GOES BEFORE A JUDGE in 24-48 hours – a judge who can then either force a mental evaluation or dismiss. That is the goal. CONVERSION TO NORMAL DUE PROCESS.
Add this and most gun owners who are like us will opt for the arrest, and we will be making a lot of money on subsequent lawsuits. THAT allows us to push back on both confiscation and abuse of the laws.
What these laws are really designed for are the cases where they work – real crazy people with guns who are a danger.
But the SOCIALISTS don’t care about the innocent people that they hurt when these laws are overused or abused.
For the cases where Red Flag laws work, truly crazy and dangerous people basically give up their guns rather than go to jail. The law gives them an easy out. They know they shouldn’t have guns, or they’re too nuts to realize it. The red flag laws actually work by confronting these people with jail for resisting or give up their guns right away.
But THAT is not us.
The problem is ALL the cases like us, where WE like the existing law, which says “Hey – give me my day in court – no anonymous accusers – etc.” Socialists don’t care who they hurt, and these Red Flag laws are an AFFRONT to law-abiding citizens who want their rights.
But the fact is, we retain ENORMOUS rights under arrest, and that is why I think that ARREST solves the problem. It might even make these damn laws Constitutional.
All we have to do is say to the NRA “Give us the arrest option, so that our guns are NOT CONFISCATED, AND WE HAVE OUR DAY IN COURT RIGHT AWAY. Otherwise, we LEAVE THE NRA.”
Easy.
Trust me – I can make a LOT of noise that the NRA would not like. So a NON-CONFISCATORY ARREST OPTION makes everybody happy – even evil leftists who LOVE the arrest part, but don’t realize – can NEVER realize – that it’s a BRIAR PATCH for us to DEFANG these laws.

Yes, arrest is a can of worms, but it’s a CONSERVATIVE can of worms. It’s a KNOWN, worked out, existing can of worms.
But MOST OF ALL, it does something that the SWATTERS don’t want – it VICTIMIZES the accused. It gives the accused TRUE VICTIM STATUS if the charges are undeserved.
That will make abuse of the laws something people have to think VERY HARD about. Accusers will be WARNED by police about it, before they file a Red Flag action.

THAT is how a REAL Red Flag Law, with a voluntary arrest option, should work. It will deter abuse, because we can fight BEFORE confiscation.

And this sets a standard for PREEMPTING California law in the process. Which will come in useful later. There are plenty of California gun laws that need preemption.
AND the REASON for preemption can be stated strongly as CONSTITUTIONAL GROUNDS. Which our VSGPOTUS can adopt as a VETO HAMMER.
So with the VETO HAMMER, VSGPOTUS can state the following principle:
There must be a fully Constitutional path offered to the accused, which would not infringe on any NORMAL Constitutional guarantees to the accused, including liberty, due process, no confiscation of property, etc.
This idea (that the Red Flag law contain a fully Constitutional, uninfringing path) not only means that the law will most likely PASS MUSTER WITH SCOTUS – it is also the EASIEST option to offer, because it basically says “there must be an option to use the normal, existing police and court system”, which guarantees “ongoing Constitutionality”.
This places Red Flag laws in PROPER Constitutional perspective, also – a FLIP of what the sneaky leftists try to make us believe. We now admit and refuse to accept ANY argument with the idea that….
CONFISCATION before trial is fully unconstitutional, an infringement, and we all know it.
BUT if a NATIONAL Red Flag law said that the accused had to either ACCEPT ARREST WITHOUT CONFISCATION – which is fully Constitutional – OR sign away some of their rights to stay out of jail – a WAIVER OF RIGHTS – then we HAVE retained an option with meets Constitutional muster.
This is what happens with traffic tickets, BTW. When you pay by mail as a convenience you WAIVE RIGHTS. Similarly for the convenience of giving up your gun to stay out of jail, you WAIVE RIGHTS. But the RIGHT TO GO BEFORE A JUDGE IS THERE, if we do this right – to have all of your Constitutional rights. So must it be with THE PREEMPTING FEDERAL RED FLAG LAW – that there is a guarantee of full rights if you want to keep them.

I have taken OTC pain killers & Opiods ever since an auto acident in 1971 mangled my back. The pain killers ruined my stomach. ‘Move Free’ and ‘Joint Health’ helped some in regaining range of motion. More recently Turmeric & Curcumin has also helped. However I STILL had to take pain killers if I did any real exercise.
For the last three weeks I have been taking Hemp Extract and even when I was repeatedly lifting 30 to 70 pounds and walking all day — NO PAIN — NO UPSET STOMACH!
I also have friends (brother & sister) who have had to resort to MJ to control their epileptic seizures when none of the prescription medication worked. We are talking falling down seizures several times a week without MJ vs the ocasional seizure if over stressed. MJ is also used for Cancer Patients to allow them to eat.

First I want to thank all of you who tried to help me with the 8channel and Voat stuff. It was so encouraging to know that I wasn’t singled out somehow and that 8 channel is coming back (they said so,).
I had to go to the store and want to share with all of you what happened.
I stumbled upon a political discussion, and of course—I couldn’t keep my mouth shut so I barged right in.
One gentleman had to leave (possibly looked at me and fled) but the other and I had an extended conversation.
This gentle young man—big enough to break me in two without even feeling it—so courteous and kind—was, I found out, a devoted follower of voodoo. Not only that, but he had bought into every lie the left had told him about the President. He said that the President was racist because of Charlottesville, and that we did not have any right to our country or to have borders on it because we had stolen it from the people it originally belonged to.
Yet he did not want global government, did not realize that the Dayton shooter was a Satanist, and could hardly believe that Christianity is not a religion that can be forced on people—that it must be a free choice of the heart or it is not the real thing.
He also did not believe that I was racist though I assured him that I fully supported the President. I begged him to look at who would keep us from global government.
I can’t remember everything we spoke about but it was a gentle, respectful, and very loving conversation and we all but hugged each other when I had to go.
He was in full agreement that we must help the people in Nigeria facing genocide for their Christian faith.
My heart melted with compassion for him.
I realized that getting the truth out to the American people about who the President is and what he stands for, who we are and why we support him, and what the freedoms in this country actually mean to the people who live here is about more than 2020 and our and our children’s future and the future of humanity, it is about being able to set people free from the chains of lies and disinformation that are keeping them enslaved to hatred and bitterness and a perceived lack of opportunity. They are in bondage to evil and many of their hearts are breaking with despair.

That is true. Hubby follows an Objectivist/libertarian group. In 2016 their attitude was “A pox on both their houses” and most did not vote or voted Libertarian.
Earlier today I ask Hubby what the attitude was now and he said they are now much more supportive of President Trump.

I’ve been having a severe headach since this morning, worked packing some..
Came inside to cool off and started to feel Dizzy, Punch Drunk feeling Laid down on our bed for a bit.. Then I had too go to the Bathroom..
I remember getting on My feet..
I then , next thing,, I was in the ER ROOM..
Wife said I got up, next thing I was falling almost threw our Bedroom Window & Collapsed..
If She hadn’t been right there to “catch Me”, I would of Fallen threw the window..
In the ER My BP was reading OVER 160/90 (Blood pressure)..
Battery of Blood tests work run-up, Chest X-rays & a CT SCAN…
So far so good..
Doctor gave Me some Meds to lower My BP and Anti-Dizzy Scrip..
At this point I have a CONFESSION to Make
(Same as I told the Doc) Well,, My Misses told them ..
I’ve been on **Prescribed** Opioid Medication for 16 years ..
See I QUIT **Cold Turkey** 2-1/2 weeks ago..
(YES, I’m Still in Chronic Pain)..
The Doctor told Me What I “Attempted” was Very Dangerous.. Doing it “Alone”
Combined,, with the STRESS of what is happening to US as a Family, (Being evicted & Displaced)..
My body is attempting, to “TRY” to get back too “Normal”..
He said to see My GP ASAP.. for further “testing”, for anything THEY (the ER) might have missed..

so good to hear you are okay. getting off those opoids is a hard thing the body does not want to let it go, your body gets dependent like a diabetic is dependent on insulin. hubby had been on them for long time quit too! Dr. gave him personal phone number to call if he had problems cuz it was going to be rough, but it was a success. praying for you and missus, what a hard situation to be in all around. the t-shirt aint all that great but God is good and gets you/us through to the other side.
What an ordeal! So glad you’re okay. Prayers for your continued recovery and improved situation.

Yup – I now have three demands for any Red Flag law:
(1) rigorously constitutional
(2) total NRA approval
(3) non-confiscatory arrest option (judges, lawyers)
The third is our briar patch – it basically defaults us back to current law. It will help prevent abuse BIGLY, IMO.

Laws can be quietly and sneakily Modified & Amended later.
That is what happened to our Immigration Law.
That is how we got the Catch & Release policy!
Once a new Law is passed…then that is just The Beginning.
