Author Attribution Correction Project

I need your help, people.

You will have noticed that – for the most part – the “site is down” phenomenon is now gone.

This is because our hosts – CoughCough.com – did some magic which I am loath to explain for the benefit of our enemies. Doesn’t matter exactly HOW, but it WORKED.

NOW – it turns out that – in the process – there was a problem. It appears that SOME articles have been “reattributed” to the administrator account – meaning ME – instead of the actual author.

Here is an example of one which I have already changed BACK to the real author – ladypenguin.

There is still some avatar mixup in that post, but that is less consequential – it is AUTHOR ATTRIBUTION that I am concerned about.

What I would like to do is to find all instances of posts / articles (not comments – POSTS) which were actually penned by somebody OTHER than whoever is listed. Most of these are very likely going to be by daughnworks247, ladypenguin, thinkthinkthink, and a few others – but I don’t know that. It could be that a lot of them are mixed up.

Or it could be just a few.

We have over 2000 posts at this time. It would take me forever to go through them all.

HOWEVER, if 100 people here went through just 20 each, we could find them all in just a few days. Or, alternatively, if 20 people do 100 each, it’s a done deal.

We have, currently, the following SITE ARCHIVE links, by MONTH:

Site Archives

This is basically 39 months.

If everybody takes a month, and some ambitious people take a bit more, and just check to make sure the authors are correct, we can get through these very quickly, and make sure that ALL authors get their deserved credit for EVERY single article.

If you decide to take a month, please state WHICH MONTH in a comment, so that nobody else takes that month.

If you FIND an article that is misattributed, just put a link to the article in the comments. I will follow behind and change them all to whoever we think really wrote it. If we’re not sure, we can discuss. If YOU are sure who really did it, or even just have a guess, please tell me.

Together, we can fix this and forget it.

THANKS!!!

January 2019. Kalbo is good for January 2019.

Seems pretty straight forward. My focus will be Articles aligned with correct Author.

Doubt I could sort out avatars. Although IF I see an errant avatar, I’ll report it.

GUESSING the effort will span two days. I will provide January 2019, corrections, comments, etc,. in replies to THIS post. IF that works for you Wolf. Calibrate as desired.

Good to go?

That splains it.

I did a double take when it didn’t show screwed up.

Linda

Wolfie, I’ll take February 2019. I probably won’t be able to do much tomorrow, but will go hard at it on Sunday.

cthulhu

I’d love to help, but at the moment I’m a bit backed-up in some plumbing.

cthulhu

Two thousand posts over 39 months sound like a minimum commitment of 50 posts, which seems a bit stiff — and it might be hard to get someone to sign-on twice.

Maybe you could hand it out in weeks — set-up “sprints” where several people could get assigned separate weeks and compete to see who could finish their week first…..silly, but fun, things like that. 50 posts seems more like work.

trumpismine

Hey boss, thought this was strange at the time. Dated 11/5 dismissed it as a simple error. now it makes a little sense, I’ll take March 2019

Tonawanda

I am embarrassed to ask, but how does one know that a post has been misattributed?

Tonawanda

For example, how does one know that an article whose author is named to be Wolfmoon was actually Ladypenguin?

kalbokalbs

Guessing it is a matter of searching for clues. Likely in comments. “T3 great article or the like.” Confirms it ought to be T3. I’ll have a better idea later today or tomorrow.

Elize

Yes, fortunately we often tell the authors, “Great post author xyz.” Thank God!

Tonawanda

TY! That makes sense. I thought maybe there was a more direct method, but apparently not (and why would there be?)

Elize

Wolfs posts usu have a W at the end of the post. For every post I reviewed, if you go to the first page nearly 99.9% of the time someone compliments the author.

kalbokalbs

Yup. I believe this will be a rather quick process. Anticipate going through Jan 19 quickly. Then onto another month.

“W” is certainly a good “tell”. Thanks.

Elize

I’ll start with Dec 2019. God give us wisdom, knowledge and insight!

Elize

December 2019 is finished and looks good. 🙂

Elize

You are very welcome, glad I can assist!

Elize

That much scrolling is hard on the epilepsy, but I’ll work on some more months for us Wolf. Damn it’s crazy to see how much we post and wow, has the time flown by!

RAC

Just had a look at a 2019 month to see how difficult it is.
Has the “see all posts by xyz” function been messed up also do you think.
Other thing I noticed, not really relevant but may be connected, all the likes were set to zero.

RAC

I’ve just tried something and it works, depends on how often, if ever, they update what one gets as results from DDG
Highlight and copy the article title then paste it as a ddg search and it comes up with, amongst other things the authors name.
Is that reliable?

Elize

We finished the outside chores. In other words dh ran to Lowes to get more wood for the cold frames! So, I’m back. I’ll start at the end of 2019 and work towards the beginning of the year until I meet up with where someone else is in 2019.

So going to start nov 2019 now. 🙂

Linda

I’ve just gotten started Wolf and already found one:

https://www.theqtree.com/2019/02/22/the-anything-but-popcorn-wqth-snack-recipe-thread/

I’m pretty sure this is a Daughn thread. Also, your avatar shows on the first 2 comments made by DP and Daughn.

I’m not sure about this one, but think it is also Daughn:

Linda

Not sure who did this one. But since it starts with “Please go easy on a girl in a hurry,” I’m sure it’s not Wolf:

Elize

I wanted to see what an odd one looked like since I haven’t seen any yet. If you scroll down a bit wolf says, “Thanks, DP! Adding images and the next drop!!!” at 17:30 so it may be a dp post.

Whew! That finishes up February 2019. I’ll take another one tomorrow.

kalbokalbs

Looks like 2019 January, February, March, November & December taken.

Kalbo has 2019 April.

Will start it tomorrow.

kalbokalbs

Ah. Thanks. Good the list is maintained real time..

Kalbo 2019 July.

Will start tomorrow.

kalbokalbs

2019 July – DONE. No problems.

Even Daughn’s articles were correct.

Elize

Finished with November 2019. If Gudthots is T3 then all is good for Nov 2019. If he’s not then I can go back and pull the links.

Elize

Sweet, tyvm!

Elize

Starting Oct 2019.

Elize

You keep saying thank you…but if it weren’t for you, the authors and all the great readers and researchers none of us would be in this free speech zone. Much thanks to everyone in our close knit family! 😊

Valerie Curren

Beautifully said, Elize. In so many ways Wolfie’s is the very best of CTH–their loss!

Elize

Oct 2019 has been reviewed. No issues.

Elize

Omfgosh!!!!!!!!!!! Info overload, but in a good way. Read a post you wrote re a book Wolf, now I want to read it.

Fall 2019 thru summer 2020 was crazy for us because of selling a house, buying a house and moving. Damn I missed a lot and picked the right months to review!

p.s. Ty Wolf for signing your posts and tyvm to the folks that 😍 the posts and thank the authors. Makes this reviewing so much easier.

God bless everyone here! 💜 💜

Linda

Ha ha! Yes, my problem in going over these old posts is stopping to read some of them again or check out the memes. 😀

kalbokalbs

OMG, s many great articles. Comments and memes.

AND, Wheatie’s tree houses – THEY WERE G R E A T !. Miss them big time!

Elize

ikr I’ve saved a couple links to go reread!

kalbokalbs

Kalbo has 2019 August.

Will start Sunday.

Elize

Tons of to you Kalbo you respond to authors by name A LOT!!!!

Linda

Wolfie, I’ve got some time right now, so I’ll start on June 2019. It doesn’t look like anyone else has taken it.

Linda

This post has this at the beginning: “a guest post by Gail Combs” but is attributed to Wolf. I’m not sure if that is because Gail doesn’t have author credentials or if this is a mistake, so will leave it up to you to decide.
https://www.theqtree.com/2019/06/16/moar-and-logic-vaccines/

Linda

June 2019 is DONE. No other problems or questions.

Elize

Starting Sept 2019

Elize

Sept 2019 complete and clean.

Elize

Husband time. Will be building cold frames tomorrow so probably won’t be on til late. Thanks folks and God bless!

kalbokalbs

2019 August is DONE. NO problems.

kalbokalbs

Kalbo will take 2019 September.

Linda

Kalbo, look above you. Elize already did September.

kalbokalbs

Thanks. I’ll look at the list and pick again.

Valerie Curren

Wolf, I’ll do May 2020 since that’s when I did my first post and I think a few more through the month. Might not finish on Sunday but for sure by Monday. Thanks!

I’ll reply to this comment w/ any issues, KO?

Valerie Curren

So straight up from the outset much of May 2020 is missing. There are only clickable links for May 26-May 31 on the calendar icon in the right margin AND it only scrolls back to May 26. I know that my first post, Luna Wolf Pack was on May 2 (that was my mom’s 80th birthday, so it stuck in my head). Do you want me to get links from wqth AND also check authorship for you to do your magic to copy here or what?

Valerie Curren

Honestly I noticed a couple times because I specifically wanted to find links to my Luna Wolf Pack post & others & I just thought that for whatever reason you hadn’t wanted to transfer some of that mess to the new site.

There were some Very Long covid related posts (I did a whole series w/ images taken from the Patriot movie AND you worked on converting them into the “block” format, during that WP format change over time. I was supposed to clean up a few of those posts & never did so–it took me a while to “get” the blocks thing, if I even do 🙂 –so that just dropped off my radar too.) Anyway at one point after you got the new site AND none of that old material but those “Flep Twitter Travels” Posts that I did made the cut I just figured you didn’t want all that extra verbiage here so didn’t raise the issue, as it was your call to make how you wanted to reconstitute the new & improved Q-Tree. Sorry if I should have pointed things out sooner 🙁

Valerie Curren

The stuff I noticed from early May 2020 goes back for at least some months. It’s been a while since I went looking, but well before doing that more recent Sheep to the Slaughter post, for I wanted links to the Luna Wolf Pack post to use there, or in some comments on the Slaughter post…

Valerie Curren

Definitely before October. Whenever I was doing those Flep’s Twitter Travel posts, after the election & maybe very early 2021, I already noticed that my covid stuff AND Luna Wolf Pack was not at the new site, but for reasons stated above chose not to bring it up (I thought it might just have been my work that didn’t make the cut–I don’t think I checked the calendar much but since I know LWP was 5/2 If I saw that May 2020 links started toward the end of the month I might have just thought that you had too much to do so didn’t transfer the older stuff…

Valerie Curren

Like I said in one of my comments, if you go to the 5/26 post & look to the prior post near the comment box it’s sometime in April…

Valerie Curren

This post is correctly attributed to you, Wolf.

https://www.theqtree.com/2020/05/26/our-half-millionth-comment-beautiful/

In the body of your post you link to the Steve post where the Millionth comment happened here:

https://wqth.wordpress.com/2020/05/15/2020%c2%b705%c2%b716-kmag-daily-thread/comment-page-3/#comment-500000

(I wonder if those percentage signs in the title are part of why the posts didn’t transfer?)

You also had a link to the Quarter-Millionth moon distance post here:

https://wqth.wordpress.com/2019/09/13/quarter-millionth-moon-distance-post

AND the 100,000 comment post here:

This is listed as the previous post, near the comment box.

https://www.theqtree.com/2020/04/05/dear-kmag-04052020/

So it Appears like posts from 4/5 or 4/6 through 5/25 or 5/26 are missing AND perhaps Only at wqth…

Valerie Curren

This one says it’s by DP. some aspects of the authorship remind me of you Wolf & there are no direct thanks to the author in the comments (that I saw by skim reading)

You should use your editor hat to confirm, imo…

There were a couple links to re-blogging of this post elsewhere so following those links might mention the Actual author, if you’re still not sure yourself.

This appears correctly attributed to Steve & is stylistically his (lawyer appeasement section, China stuff, coin info, SCIENCE!). I didn’t dig through comments for any direct thanks.

Valerie Curren

This appeared stylistically to be by Carl, as stated, but I wanted a confirmation thanks & found one on page one of FIVE in the comments. Busy George Floyd comment day…

Saw a note by Flep in comments that his news post was up too…

Cute Chipmunk

 May 31, 2020 01:41

News roundup has been posted if interested.

There wasn’t an obvious link to this 5-31-20 post, I’ll check wqth…

I don’t see it at wqth either. Maybe he did a news post at his own blog?

I clicked Flep’s name to see if his blog is listed & got this notice:

Private Site

This site is currently private. If you would like to request access, we’ll send your username to the site owner for approval.

https://fleporeblog.com/

OK, both archive.fo (which only has a few wqth posts to 3/20) & archive.org don’t have a flep post for 5/31…

STOP the Presses! I found an archive of Flep’s post before making it private!

https://web.archive.org/web/20200604082717/https://fleporeblog.com/2020/05/31/5-31-20-news-roundup-pdjts-delivered-remarks-upon-departing-the-wh-pdjts-remarks-before-boarding-air-force-one-pdjts-remarks-after-viewing-the-launch-pdjts-rema/

Other flep posts can also be found in surrounding pages, before hiding in privacy…

Valerie Curren

It appears that many of Flep’s posts, up until maybe 6-5-20 (which shows on a 10/20 archival capture) are available in the wayback machine. It looks like he created a post nearly daily AND copied them to his personal blog (or copied his blog posts to the Q-Tree). So far both the archive scrolled pages show & individual posts can be clicked on to stand alone.

When getting about halfway down a blog archive listing the wayback machine puts some type of “warning” on the video content & it’s not visible. So going to the Individual post may be the only “easy” way to see the Flep post content more fully…

https://web.archive.org/web/20200811032757/https://fleporeblog.com/page/3/

Above skipped from 4-26-20 to 3-18-20 AND that is also true on looking at the 3/18 individual post…

So obviously there will be significant holes in the approximated Flep writings by using this tool to try to re-build the Q-Tree material he posted…

Valerie Curren

https://www.theqtree.com/2020/05/31/stantifa-why-antifa-must-be-shut-down-where-it-started-in-our-universities/

This appears correctly attributed to you Wolf, by “W” & stylistically. I didn’t directly see a thanks to you in the comments, but got distracted seeing Plain Jane AND Angel at the Gates of War in the discussion (have to go back & read Everything, for I don’t know if I actually ever read this post, having been out of town for extended Memorial Day festivities with the family)…

Valerie Curren

OK, so here is the first May 2020 post from wqth:

https://wqth.wordpress.com/2020/05/01/20200501-dear-kmag-open-thread/

The one before is for 4/30. This one above appears to be by Daughn

I’m probably going to step away for a while for some sleep & pick up stuff later.

If I don’t hear otherwise from you I’ll probably just the wqth links w/ authorship notes here.

https://wqth.wordpress.com/2020/05/02/2020%c2%b705%c2%b702-kmag-daily-thread/

This stylistically & attributionally is by Steve!

AND here’s My First Ever Q-Tree Post! AND it’s attributed to me too 😉

https://wqth.wordpress.com/2020/05/02/luna-wolf-pack/

I’m still incredibly blown away AND highly honored by your authorship gift. Blessings!

Valerie Curren

Flep’s stuff could potentially be a hole. I found that archive stuff for 5/31, but whenever he made his blog private he may also have pulled his Q-Tree stuff. My recollection says he’s almost never posted & barely commented here since the 2020 election. I don’t mind getting his blog archive links for individual days if none of them show up at either the new Q-Tree nor at wqth anymore. At least it will give us a rough estimate of what was being discussed here even if our comments aren’t also available.

I’ll have to get some sleep first though 🙂

Valerie Curren

absolutely no biggie. after sleep I may just put some of the May wqth links in a few comments on this post so If AND When you, or someone, chooses to “correct” the archive some of that work will already be done.

YOU MUST take care of yourself AND new material is more important & timely than archival, though archival is important long term, imo.

Valerie Curren

OK, I’ll step back until you tell me to dig in again by replying to me directly in the notifier. Blessings!

Valerie Curren

So looking at 5/26 seems a good place to start.

Valerie Curren

Flep’s archived stuff has privacy on it at later dates….only earlier material was visible in my very specific search for 5/31 stuff…

Valerie Curren

Just fyi, from the archived site there are daily Flep posts from 5-20-20 through 5-31-20. In my analysis for March 2020 there are also daily Flep posts at the archive for the first half+ of March 2020. There are also Some April 2020 posts, but I didn’t dig in. It’s possible the last easily accessible Flep post there is early June 2020. I don’t know how far Back the archive has access to his posts for I didn’t dig that deeply. some of the first saves seemed to be from 2019, fyi…

Valerie Curren

In checking my main blog it looks like there were quite a few covid related posts by me at The Q-Tree around 5-20-20…

Valerie Curren

Great. I think that was when I did a Major covid post & then broke it into parts A-N? AND also when you modified it into block format, at least most parts. I still could write in the classic style/format then (still can on my SC blog)…

Valerie Curren

Yikes–so sorry 🙁 For a while, at the old Q-Tree, you had that series in the right margin. I Never did look at the ones still needing to be converted to “blocks”, which I think we discussed in that Author Logistics post…

I had done that massive post just before heading out of town for an extended holiday “weekend”. By the time I came home the George Floyd fiasco was going strong & digital warfare became my primary activity. I’ve barely written Any blog posts since then since there seems to Always be some sort of MAGA skirmish happening…

Valerie Curren

Well, that’s good to know!

Looking at segments of the historical Q-Tree it is so eye-opening. You have created an AMAZING Place for Patriots AND Truth Tellers AND God fearing impish people who are/were free thinking enough to at least consider the possibilities of the Q phenomenon. Hope your archive makes the history books.

You have surely hit the Book that most matters, in so many ways!

Valerie Curren

Amen. God raises up people for a season AND sometimes sends them out to perhaps cause more expansive plantings & even bigger harvests. He is really blessing you & the work you & All Q-Treepers do here.

Perhaps the CTH banning was ultimately a Very Good Thing!!! What “satan” meant for “evil” God meant for Good 😉

Valerie Curren

https://www.theqtree.com/2020/05/28/dear-kag-20200521-open-thread-2/

This appears to be correctly attributed to DP though I didn’t see any direct thanks to her in top level comments on p. 1. It was a very active day w/ 5 pages of comments!

Tonawanda

I will do September 2020.

kalbokalbs

Kalbo will take 2020 October.

Primary look is missing days, followed by attribution.

The three months I screened earlier, showed every calendar day covered, and seemingly as many unique topics covered.

Will screen folks comments and for updated guidance from Wolf, before starting this afternoon..

kalbokalbs

October 20202

  • Calendar dates covered.
  • No shortage of articles with unique titles.
  • NO issues, except two noted below.

This IS SCREWY. Hope my notes make sense.

  • TWO ODDBALLS… I spent lots of time here.
  • Before diving into this Cluster F…, consider setting aside ~30 minutes.

The FIRST.  20191021: Halloween Revisited

  • “Published” on October 21, 2020
  • Article title 20191021 Halloween Revisited.
  • Did not see dates within the article.
  • All comments dated October 21-24, 2020. Word Piss screwed this up?
  • I BELIEVE date in article title is correct, 20191021.
  • As a FYI, I looked on Daughn’s Side Porch Politics. She has a Halloween Revisited article that is very SIMILAR to QTree.
  • Numerous 2019 articles at Daughn’s show 2020 published. Word Piss strikes again? Side Porch NOT our issue. Moving on.

The SECOND20191031: It All Comes Back to Ukraine.

  • After Daughn had departed, she posted an article on QTree by mistake.
  • “Published” on October 20, 2020.
  • Article title 20191031: It all Comes Back To Ukraine
  • Newest reference in the article IS October 30, 2019.
  • All comments dated October, 20, 21 & 22, 2020. Word Piss screwed this up?
  • I BELIEVE date in article title is correct, 20191031.
  • Again, I looked on Daughn’s Side Porch Politics. This article IS SORTED by Title date 20191031. Correct order. Yet, “PUBLISHED” on 20201020”.  Word Piss strikes again? Side Porch NOT our issue. Moving on.

Finally, as noted up/down thread. No Flep articles. Great information if we can resurrect it. Beyond my pay grade.

  • IF any one of us “knew” Trump was the legitimate winner, Data Guru” FLEP KNEW TRUMP WON. Well, that IS my take. Can’t speak for Flep.
  • As with each of us, MeThinks Flep was crushed over the election steal.
  • Flep was so, so appreciate by each of us here QTree.

I’ll take June 2020. I’ve just looked through them and all the days are covered. Now I’ll check the authors.

Linda

June 2020 has no author errors and all the dates are covered. The only odd thing I noticed is that a lot of open threads had the default header. I know most of our authors choose specific headers, so that may be an error.

Valerie Curren

I’ll check March 2020 & reply to this comment

That is the last MARCH 2020 post showing, but I’ll review Flep’s archived blog posts AND just put the available dates from the wayback machine below.

3/18, 3/17, 3/16, 3/15, 3/14, 3/13, 3/12, 3/11, 3/10, 3/9, 3/8, 3/7, 3/6, 3/5, 3/4, 3/3, 3/2, OK, there is apparently no 3/1 nor 3/19-3/31.

The entry Before 3/2 is for 2-9-20.

The entry After 3/18 is for 4-26-20.

I didn’t dig much deeper into Flep’s archive except for my May 2020 stuff elsewhere on today’s author attribution post, where there was at least an end of May 2020 Flep blog post archived on the wayback machine…

Valerie Curren

Finished March 2020 AND all visible posts appear to be by the authors stated!

Valerie Curren

That’s probably enough for me today for I still have catch-up Q-Tree reading to do 😉

Valerie Curren

Linda

Wolf, I’ll get started on August 2020.

Linda

All posts appear to be present. I’ll now check authors.

Linda

Okay, this one is definitely wrong:

https://www.theqtree.com/2020/08/12/dear-kag-20200812-open-thread/

Wolf Moon shown as the author, but it has DP’s trademark camels in the header, DP’s normal scripture at the end, and DP’s take on the rules in the center section. It appears to me, though, that some of the post might be missing.

Linda

Oh wow. I totally missed that. Well I’m glad the mystery is solved.

Linda

All other posts appear to have the correct author. One thing I noticed, though, is that all of Steve’s headers were the default header. He usually has eagles in his.

kalbokalbs

December 2020

Wolf, 2020 may just about be a wrap.

Earlier post indicated a slightly different tact with 2021.

Vector me to a month and whatever changes in our screening. Or screen 100% posts. Either way I am good to go.

Gotta run. Will be back in awhile.

kalbokalbs

Got it.

kalbokalbs

May 2021

  • Calendar dates covered, EXCEPT 20210502 – No Open Daily. May 2 was a Sunday AND I do NOT recall BakoCarl ever missing an article. Out of curiousity, I glanced at Marica’s place, but did not see an archive link. Wolf has an unique article on May 2.
  • There is an article, “The Magnetism Challenge: Part I”. Should there be a “The Magnetism Challenge: Part II”
  • Articles with unique titles appear OK..
  • Headers seemed fine.
  • NO other issues.

Please feel free to assign another month. Standing by.

Observations:

1) Deplorable Patriot – – WOW WOW WOW; what a debt we owe to her for her immense work!

2) In the past when I did this type of thing, so often I would get half way through and regret that I had not kept track of certain aspects of the work which, in retrospect, would have been valuable to keep track of. Things like page numbers, or certain words. So, using guess work, I would keep track of things which had the potential for being valuable info. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. The time expended may or may not be worth it. HERE, I kept track of when the first comment was made. And it turns out it was not useful at all. But that is my explanation for including this useless information!

3) Probably also useless are my citing what I call “odd titles.” These are entries with a left pointing arrow followed by a dot. I am sure they are just wordpress type program entities which show up for some reason, and not a big deal. But to my untrained eyes they POSSIBLY might be a glitch of some sort, so I included them.

4) Bakocarl said something on September 27 which affected me, so I included it. The significance for us as individuals is even more powerful more than a year later.

                                                                       year later:

It’s quite a letdown switching gears to “Judge Not”.

Several times during T3’s absolutely great blow-by-blow of the Prayer March on the Mall, I felt like I was riding the crest of a smooth, soft wave with Peace and Quiet Joy riding with me.

It’s a feeling I want to hold on to, especially as these next few weeks pass when the ugly realities of the Swamp Things rudely intrude on my consciousness.

. . . and there lies the difference and importance of keeping my thoughts focused on things above in spite of the turmoil swirling around.

When peace, like a river, flows softly my way,

When troubles like sea billows roll;

Whatever my lot, it is true when I say,

It is well, it is well, with my soul.
